Clean facility with helpful staff. The community center provides basketball courts, a swimming pool with a slide and kids area, a variety of fitness classes, cardio and strength training equipment, racquet ball courts and pickleball at selected times. It also has a very nice outdoor paved trail, bicycles and a lovely pond/lake are for canoeing or kayaking! If you’re looking for personal training or a massage you can also find that here! I definitely recommend if you are looking for a family oriented center.

As a BLACK African American membership holder to this community center I had recently brought my child I was stopped right at the stairs stating my child is NOT allowed upstairs what so ever if not 10years of age around workout equipment my child is 6 which is totally fine and understandable! I asked to speak to a manager to make sure that was correct a manager was brought to me and he said that was CORRECT policy! I have worked out upstairs the past week after small incident and seen caucasian parents and kids upstairs on workout equipment around workers seeing this as well with no regard ! Today a Caucasian couple with a newborn baby was upstairs in workout room with parents NO one redirected them! there are workers everyday walking and cleaning machines upstairs around the clock , still no one cared to redirect them with policy just AS they did a AFRICAN AMERICAN! Third day in a row I have took pictures of caucasian family’s upstairs with children under 10 years of age in workout room! Me and my child have been treated unfairly due to my skin color!! I spend money here and come here and totally disagree on this! If a policy is enforced it’s need to be inforced to EVERYONE , every worker should also know this policy so it can be enforced no children allowed under no circumstances upstairs in workout area under 10year of age no matter RACE!!!

I’ve exercised all my life but for the first time in my life at seventy, I needed a certified personal trainer to increase muscle strength and improve bone density in hopes to reverse my Osteoporosis/Osteopenia. Rob Kyle of Thomas Lovell Community Fitness Center was awesome as my Personal Trainer, making sure my forms were correct and providing proper technique for each workout. I’m not sure if all PTs provide a follow-up workout chart after each session, but Rob certainly did with me and I appreciated it very much as I could see the progress I made and any modifications needed. He gave me motivation and accountability; additionally he accommodated shorter sessions for me so that I could extend my visits with him, enabling me to stay on the right track. I just recently purchased a kayak. Then found out there are too many places that don't charge to launch a water craft.

Well here's one for you. Legacy Lake in Lee Summit MO.

I think this place is under utilized for such an outstanding place.

They have a very nice amphitheater.
Man this thing is set up to hold some great concerts. I don't know for sure how often they show outdoor movies. But if I had a garage band and we wanted to get out and noticed. I would suggest seeing what the price is for this venue. Maybe get 2 or 3 other bands to chip in.

As far as the lake goes. See the pictures attached. I really enjoyed myself.

The main Building is gorgeous! Very nice inside and out. Residents of Lee Summit have a gem on their hands.

The entire complex is HUGE!!! Soccer, Football, Rugby, Frisbee Golf. And I probably forgot others.

For you kayaker's. FREE is best!!!
I think $20.00 to use a lake for a day is outrageous!!! I'd be happy to pay $5.00 maybe $10.00. But $20.00 ??? No thank you.

If you are a busy parent and would like to use the pool this place is not for you. Open swim only starts at 10 am and you are not allowed in the pool unless you want to “walk backwards in the lazy river.” This is apparently because they don’t want to schedule a lifeguard in the morning. My wife is a certified swim instructor and we just wanted to reach out little one how to swim at a convenient time for our schedule. For people who want to get things done on the weekend find somewhere else. They also NEVER update their childcare times on their website and it is always out of date. Very disappointed this wasn’t explained when we signed up

I went there today to celebrate my granddaughters 6th birthday. I thought it was ridiculous not swimming adults still had to pay $12 each. On the way out of the ladies locker room a teenage boy ran out from the basketball court running in front of me and a big butcher knife fell out of the bag around his shoulder. I told the front desk about it. When we walked out all the boys were congregated outside. I called from my vehicle and was told the boy came back in and they made him take the knife to his vehicle. That's it! 🤷‍♀️ Not a safe place to me.

I went to my granddaughters 4th Birthday Swimming Party tonight and was very disappointed!
We had been here before for other swimming parties and just swimming in past years.
Tonight there were 2 life guards on duty. One was at the top of the slide. The other was at the bottom of that pool with the slide, sitting in a chair and that life guard was on the verge of sleeping. He literally was LAYING in the chair with his eyes closed!! I yelled at him and asked if he was watching all the LITTLE kids in the heated pool. I was in the heated pool with them, but honestly it did not give me confidence of his abilities!

The hot tub was closed and had a sign up.

An additionally disturbing part was when I went to leave, there was a man who was closing the pool off and I asked him if he was in charge? When he said yes, I told him about the sleeping "Life Guard" and he said "OKAY". That is all!!! Not I am sorry, or acknowledged anything I said!

IF this pool has cameras, someone NEEDS to see how the guards are doing in their job before there is a serious drowning there!!

If you go here make sure you personally watch your kids, because I think the staff has a LOT of training needed!!!

I've had the membership for a week and have gone daily, and I will say the rec center is nice and offers a lot.

The only complaint I have is the pool (lap pool) is not maintained well. Yesterday there were so many centipedes and dead spiders in the pool that I had a lifeguard bring me a tub so I could get them all out. I overheard them saying to one another that the vacuum that cleans the bugs from the pool is broken.

Today I went in and once again the lap pool was so murky that even with goggles on you couldn't see more than a foot or two in front of your face. About the same visibility as a lake underwater. Not sure what that was about but it's supposed to be clear. It's also extremely salty.

They need to get the pool clean, and the lifeguards need to do a better job of keeping other people's children in-line when people are exercising. Every time I go either strange kids are literally crawling on me as I swim or they're throwing balls or googles across the pool and nearly hitting other people.

We took our 5 and 6 year old grandchildren here to swim. It was our first time there, so we had noted on website price was $9 per person. We arrived around 3:30pm and were told they could only go in small children’s area and that would close for swim lessons at 5. It took 20 minutes to sign in, because we had to sign paperwork and have pictures taken for our one time visit. We had to get out of kids area at 4:50pm per lifeguard as swim lessons were getting to start and then found out they would last until 7. So for less than an hour we paid $36 for 2 kids to swim!!! On further research on website, I saw a month membership is only $22!! It is very poor service that we were not given this option when we signed in. There was not a reason given why we could not use big leisure pool. There was a lifeguard and only a couple of people swimming in the big pool.

Terrible nasty pool. You can tell that the hot tub is disgusting with all of the “sand” at the bottom of it. I saw a roach crawling near the hot tub once. The pool is nasty, and smells horrible. Do not bring your kids here the lifeguards don’t pay attention. The managers don’t care about their workers either. I saw a lifeguard that looked younger left on stand for 3 HOURS alone!!!

I love that they rent canoes and paddle boards here! It's one of the few places I know of locally who does that. Their lake is a nice relaxing place to paddle. It's small, but that's really nice for me. It's relaxing, and the price to rent the canoe is less than $10/hour. One of my favorite activities in the evening.

Nothing fancy. Most of the staff is friendly but the "managers" are rude!!! There is a huge problem with the key fob scanner. If your key fob doesn't scan it's you're fault and your treated like you stole something!! They pick and choose who they want to stop. I attempted to scan in while there were 4 employees standing there. I thought it scanned and even tried to check the monitor.

I went to the restroom and when I got out of the stall a female employee was standing there waiting to tell me that I needed to go back up front because my key fob did not scan. I went up front and scanned multiple times and nothing. The manager, "Jamie" offered no solutions and wanted me to keep scanning. I told him I was going to work out and would scan after and headed upstairs. He told me to scan again and to take "responsibility" or he would call the POLICE! I said responsibility for what? For your inconsistent key fob reader?! How is this my fault?

Jamie was very unprofessional, did not know how to descalate the situation, nor did he offer any solutions (maybe offer to give me a new key fob), and he needs some serious coaching and developing if he is a "manager." I pay fees for more than one membership there! Funny how the person before me didn't scan but they never chaised him. This has happened multiple times. I just want to work out!

I love this pool for my young kiddos. Staff is friendly yet firm on rules. Perfectly balanced as all things should be. I swim here 4 times a week and just love the cool. It was very inconsistent temperatures in the summer and has improved somewhat in the summer. The lifeguards chat with each other incessantly and never really watch the water. There's two or three that are good in the rest just look like they're there to visit with a friend it really annoys me. The bathrooms are not checked regularly they're out of toilet paper there's Band-Aids on the floor the family area bathrooms are disgusting usually with pee all over the toilets from little boys in that kind of thing I think they need a lot better policing on that.the cleanliness is side everyone is very nice very accommodating and the front desk personnel and the people you meet there arr just wonderful.
