Chesterfield location is spacious and well-equipped with nearly everything you could need. They’ve recently added hydromassage and cryotherapy chairs upstairs, plus a cold plunge in the pool area. The pool sauna is excellent and maintains high heat consistently, and the steam room is great when it’s operational. However, the sauna in the men’s locker room runs noticeably cooler.

The biggest drawback is the limited hours. At around $200 per month, this facility really should offer 24-hour access - or at the very least extend hours until midnight.

Some areas could use updating. The locker rooms and showers feel dated compared to other locations like Frontenac, and the equipment could use refreshment.

Additionally, the guest policy is unnecessarily restrictive. The same friend can only visit once every 60 days, which feels unreasonable given the premium membership cost. If members are paying around $200 per month, they should have more flexibility with guest privileges.

What a total gimmick rip off places they try to make it look like some sort of luxury spa with coffee shops, etc. it's not a Jim everybody there was just walking around hardly working out. It's just like a hangout place. That's very expensive.

If you're wanting to be a serious Workout person, this is definitely not the place for you. It is a social club for people to brag about how much money they make and how much they pay for a stupid gym.
Also, it was so incredibly noisy and loud there with people talking on microphones crappy music playing there is no seriousness about this place at all

1. Cold plunge is fantastic.
2. Cafeteria: Clean, busy service, touches every member in time, and fast, no line. Here is only two employees are providing all service, and making sandwiches. Fast, nice, and busy. Frontenac should learn them.
3. Clean workout area.
4. At this point, I would prefer Frontenac members’ workout atmosphere. In chesterfield, packed by old people, and just sitting next to equipment. I feel uncomfortable. I don’t blame them, maybe they don’t know, and health issues (for walk). However, they are nice community.
5. My sandwiches’ size was bigger than Frontenac cafeteria 😊, maybe because of cold plunge affects my view 🙄

The cafe is a struggle. Give every single person a number! It’s so weird, just take an order, give a number. Also consider labels printed for the cups so you can minimize any concerns for ingredients.

I was a member of Lifetime Fitness mid 2024, and I primarily used the pool area. Shortly after, I ended up with Plantar Warts in my foot. My doctor confirmed it was transmitted. I’m 27 years old and have never had any foot infections before. Had to take off work for over 2 weeks after the doctor removed it .

I didn’t think much of it at the time and thought it was a one off situation. But I recently had a conversation with a friend who experienced the exact same issue from Lifetime and he knew others that got it from the filthy showers and pool area.
This is unacceptable. For the amount of money members pay—thousands per year—there’s no excuse for unclean locker rooms, showers, and pool areas.

Lifetime needs to take hygiene seriously. Clean your facilities properly, or more members will suffer the consequences.

Absolutely filthy. The equipment wasn't wiped down, the locker room and toilets were disgusting. They also don't have any sort of accommodation for those with disabilities. When I complained, they said "handicapped people don't go to the gym anyways".

I recently relocated to St. Louis from California. I inquired about setting up a tour to rejoin Lifetime at the West County location since Frontenac currently has a waitlist. On the day of my tour appointment, I received a voicemail from Lauren A. saying that something had come up and that my tour would need to be rescheduled. I understand that things happen. Lauren A. emailed me, and we exchanged a few messages. She mentioned that the monthly dues would increase from $179 as of October. While I am acclimating to my new company, I let her know that I would try to stop by after work before the 1st. My last email to her was on 9/24, and she never called or responded again. On 9/30, I emailed her to request that she remove me from the interest list. I have since added myself to the waitlist at Frontenac.

DO NOT GO HERE! I had an extremely racist encounter with the front desk employee. I tried to go to this gym 2 times and the first time that I went in the front desk employee named Meg gave me a really hard time when trying to enter the gym, trying to come up with excuses as to why I shouldn't be allowed in even though I have been paying for a membership at Lifetime for over a year. After wasting my time for 15 minutes she finally let me enter. I tried to go to this same location again and the same racist employee named Meg was so rude and disrespectful and she tried to fight with me in order to not allow me to enter the gym again. She said that I needed to upgrade my membership, I asked her how much the upgraded membership would cost and she said that would cost $259. I proceeded to tell her that I am already paying $259 and she was like "I am still not going to allow you to enter this gym" and continued to come up with excuses despite the fact that I had even showed her that I was paying the $259. She was so beyond disrespectful when speaking to me and she was so racist and awful. I used to have a membership at Equinox and thought that switching over to Lifetime would be better but this seems like a huge mistake as their front desk employees harassed me and were so beyond racist towards me.

I used it extensively pre -covid. Since then, the hours allowed for UHC members have been reduced. With my wife ill, I could come only early morning, evening or at night. But they x-d out these hours for me. Disappointing. I appreciate that lifetime and UHC are seeking to maximize profits for shareholders and earnings for their CEOs -- I still don't like then shafting the older folks.

This review concerns mistreatment I received on 5/14/22 in the massage room by Cassandra Davis at the Lifetime Fitness Chesterfield location. She placed one of her hands on my upper right shoulder for approximately 35 minutes while holding her cell phone with the other hand. I noticed the cell phone shadow through the massage headrest and turned around to ask her what she was doing. She claimed she was checking her schedule. I cannot believe she acted so unprofessionally during the massage, and I felt very discriminated against. I have contacted the general manager to complain and am awaiting a response. In the meantime, I am seriously considering quitting Lifetime Fitness and demanding a full refund if this is how they run their business and treat their customers.

Overpriced (our friends pay way less) and then wouldn’t even take my cash at the cafe, they are now cashless. It’s a scary thing when no one will take your money anymore. There is zero reason for this. The young girl behind the counter said “a lot of people are doing that now” as if it’s ok haha! Cash is king so I will take it elsewhere. Cancelling our membership now. I think people will start regretting this when they start losing MONEY. Don’t support businesses like this!

Have been here and other Lifetimes over the years. Clean facility, nice locker room… pickleball courts. Only negative for me is they close too early. Anyone who works late can’t fully enjoy and have to rush workouts. It used to be open longer pre-Covid, wish they would lengthen hours again.

In early 2023 I had the pleasure of receiving a massage from Josh and I must say that it was truly an exceptional experience. Josh is a highly skilled professional who excels in providing personalized and therapeutic massages tailored to meet individual needs. LifeTime is lucky to have him!

No matter what location or facility he is partnered with Josh's level of professionalism and attentiveness immediately puts me at ease, allowing me to fully relax and enjoy each session.

Throughout the massage, Josh demonstrates a deep understanding of different massage techniques and applies them with precision and expertise. His firm yet gentle touch released tension from my muscles, relieving me of the built-up stress and knots that I often carrying in my body.

What truly sets Josh apart is his ability to intuitively listen to his clients and customize the massage to address specific concerns. He took the time to understand my preferences, any areas of tension or discomfort, and focuses on those areas to provide targeted relief. His knowledge and expertise combined with his genuine care for his clients makes the experience truly remarkable.

In addition to his technical proficiency, Josh displays excellent communication skills. He regularly checks in to ensure the pressure and technique used during the massage is suitable and adjusts accordingly. His friendly and professional demeanor made me feel respected and valued throughout the session.

Overall, I cannot recommend Josh highly enough. his expertise, attention to detail, and ability to create a serene and comfortable environment makes my massage experience truly memorable. Whether you're seeking relaxation, stress relief, or therapeutic benefits, I am confident that Josh will provide an outstanding massage that meets and exceeds your expectations. I look forward to my next appointment and the opportunity to continue benefiting from his exceptional skills. Thank you Josh!!

I had an amazing massage from Josh Elgin yesterday. I have arthritis in my thumb which flares up from time to time, causes pain and limits the use of my hand. He specifically worked on my hand, arm, shoulders & neck, now it feels SO much better! No more pain and I have full use of my hand today! He is a VERY skilled therapist and I would recommend him to anyone!!!

I try and go to this place at least once a week to justify having the membership which is expensive even by my old price they keep for me. But it is so amazing with the saunas, steam rooms, Olympic size pools, and the hot tubs, oh the hot tubs that can hold 20 people a piece with waterfalls in em. And the gym is the size of a damn football field. And other day got pickelball lessons from an instructor which are included in my membership. Any day or time of the week I feel more accepted here and not judged, sorry planet fitness, you in second place here. But highly recommended. But only thing I’d change is the 90 year olds walking around the locker room with their cha Chas hanging out and the older retired people in general. I honestly feel like I’m at a retirement home during the day 😆 but hey good for them for exercising I guess! Recommended !

It's a good facility, and they keep it clean and maintained. That is to be expected for a more expensive health club.
However, they are changing memberships on Jan 1 to limit time of day access to members not upgrading to the most expensive level. That change excludes access to many of the classes that make the club better than the other gyms in the area.
I have been there since it opened, but I doubt my membership will survive this nonsense.

This place gets 5 stars from me but some of their guests get 1 star. On more than a few occasions I've found bic razors with pubes all over them in the showers and even the sauna!
Some people have no respect . This is gross and the staff shouldn't have to clean your dirty mess.

Bunch of years later…
Why are people working out in the sauna? Seriously, I go into the sauna to relax, I don’t go into the sauna to watch people working out.

Right now as I type some guy is doing step ups on the bench. Sweat is splashing everywhere.

I can’t relax. Bench bouncing up and down. When this guy keels over am I supposed to help him?

As I continue to evaluate this fitness place
Here is what my experience
1. Overall facility is good
2. Locker room has great locking mechanism
3. Hair saloon…. I would say Great Clips is way better than LifeSpa haircut.
4. Support desk is clueless and often provide misinformation. They had me fill out the form only for manger to tear that form in front of me.
5. Different pricing provided to different customers at their discretion. I confirmed the price difference from friends and other family. When I mentioned it they simply ignored and said it’s the current market rate.

Additional Experience
Can’t pause membership over the phone or a website. Has to be in person. When called them it was a free pause, but when I went in there was a charge. Again inexperienced front desk reps.

this place, as it goes, is a fairly wonderful gym. it's very clean, very healthy. has that kinda "upper-class wellness" feel to it. it's got a wide variety of services - they even sell food - and it's overall been pretty awesome. it's a place i could see patrick bateman going to workout.

however, customer service has been getting a little finicky. they've recently hired guys and they're just... know-it-all? like one of them told me "hey ma'am, please rack your weights," and i was like, "no, i'm in the middle of my set; i'm just taking a 1-minute break," and he got all huffy and walked off.

other than that, fairly nice gym. i'm kinda sad that they haven't reinstated pre-covid hours (used to be 24/7, now it's 10pm weekdays, 9pm weekends) and i've seen some pretty heated arguments around closing time, mostly related to the aforementioned new hires. it's a shame, 'cause i really like this gym and i'm willing to work with it, but if things get worse i might skedaddle.

also, they cut the basketball courts in half. never played, but basketball at lifetime isn't so interesting anymore.

First they raised my monthly payment without full 30 day notice and then they got rid of one of their basketball courts with out any notice but I was somehow suppose to give them a 30 day notice before canceling. Still trying to charge me for a month that I did not go there at all. Once I found out about the courts I told them that was gonna be my last month but they said they would still have to charge me for another so I canceled my card. Since Day One I was a founding member but haven't been back in years. It still looks the same but with up-to-date equipment. Staff is still wonderful & helpful. Food is great & of course healthy.

The machines are always clean, work & give you what you need: a place to get stronger, in shape, etc. If there is a knock it's still more cost than a regular facility but the perks make it more manageable depending on your needs.

Can tell the management doesn’t take everyone seriously. Not the best customer service and it’s upsetting considering the “cheap” membership is $129 you’d think they value everyone who walks through the door but that is not the case at least at this location. I have been a member here since before it even opened, and I am sad to say that I can no longer support this money hungry gym. The equipment has only lost its luster and gotten worse over they years, with maintenance being needed on several items. They now charge 30$ on top of your guest pass to bring a guest to the pool on weekends. They increased the price point of my membership by 2x, all while they made they reduced the hours they were open from 24/7 to 5-10. The pretentious new hires are really ruining the gym atmosphere as well. One of the only bright spots with the entire staff is Jimmy, he was very kind and willing to work with you. They even increased the time span that u can bring a guest from once a month to once every 60 days. They really are willing to do anything for the extra dollar. The equipment is genuinely subpar compared to other lifetimes and even golds gyms. The basketball court is also never available to the public because they use it for daycare, and pickleball. Honestly shameful since some people come to the gym exclusively for basketball.

I’ve been meaning to post this for a while. I have been a member of lifetime fitness for many years and I am a very active member, I am at the gym almost every day. I am giving a one star review because of the bad gym hours and failure of management to show any interest in fixing the problem. Lifetime Ellisville closes at 10 pm on weekdays and 9 pm on weekends. This is unacceptable. Lifetime when I joined was a 24 hour gym, then started closing at midnight but would allow members who enter before midnight to stay and finish their workout late. Now everyone is evacuated at 10 pm. Several of us have spoken with management several times about this and nothing has been done and I no longer expect anything to be done. My last communication via email to the general manager Bradley Bryan was a few months before January 2022, and in his response he said his goal is to go back to precovid hours by January 2022. I am writing this review on July 2022 and gym hours haven’t changed yet. Since COVID restrictions have been lifted, lifetime membership fees have gone up, and operations are back to normal. A lot of other active gym members like myself who have a very busy life and would appreciate later hours at the gym. Quite often at 10 pm upon closing, there will be several uncivil arguments between staff and members and kicking members out. This has happened to me before where a gym employee told me it’s time to leave 9:59 pm. I am well known at the gym and friendly with everyone and follow the rules. I was on my way out and wasn’t the only person at the gym, so I responded to the employee “who I have never seen before” with a friendly smile, yes sir let me finish this set and leave in 30 seconds. This employee gave me nasty look and responded in a rude tone” YOU DIDN’T HEAR ME, I SAID YOU NEED TO LEAVE NOW”. Note that I have not seen this employee at the gym for several months for complete honesty and fairness.
I am a very busy person and this is an honest review out of my frustration. Several members and close friends of mine are going to post similar reviews out of our collective frustration soon. Lifetime Ellisville is a good gym, but for the high membership fees, I am giving them a one star review for poor management and lack of care for paying members, especially that this is no longer a single person problem, the gym is usually full of people at closing time all arguing with gym staff.
If I get a response to this review to contact the gym management for feedback, I want to make it clear I have already done that several times as I stated above and nothing was done, another reason for my one star review. Membership dues keep going up and gym hours problem isn’t being resolved. Other lower tier gyms in the area open 24/7.
I have a picked an elite expensive gym because I am willing to pay the increasing fee for elite service, a service that is no longer being provided. I will be updating this review once management finds a reasonable solution, so I would no longer have to cut my workout short 4 days a week.

I've been a member at Lifetime Chesterfield for about 5 months now and I have had a good experience on all fronts. I'm now paying about 3x what I was at my previous gym but to me, it's worth it.

The place is run very professionally and is an all-around first-class facility, from the clean and country-club-feel locker rooms to the multiple saunas and hot tubs to the classes to the comfortable cafe where they serve my favorite coffee! (Peet's)

All staff have been quite friendly and helpful at every visit, and if you're into personal training, I highly recommend Ryan. He is very attentive to my specific needs and has done an excellent job customizing a training, stretching and fitness program to accommodate some nagging injuries I've been dealing with lately. The Lifetime Training app has been really useful too.

Also check out the huge pool with water slide in the summer....great for families and singles alike.

The only downside I can think of is the higher cost compared to other options in the area, but for me the tradeoff is worth it. It's like most premium memberships: if you use it regularly, it's probably worth it.

“We don’t treat our customers as individuals” - an actual quote from Elizabeth when I called to try and cancel my membership. My income was cut back and my Father became ill... I thought they might understand that due to these extenuating circumstances that the dues are too much at this time and they are bleeding me dry... but all they care about is the almighty dollar... I’m disappointed to hear FROM THEIR STAFF that I’m a dollar sign and not a person... I’m actually genuinely hurt by that statement... I guess I have to pay out my dues but I will not be doing business with them again... which is a shame... their facilities are fantastic... i had a personal trainer for a while named JD who was outstanding and I would recommend him to anyone... I just don’t like this feeling of “not being treated as an individual”

This isn't by any means a terrible dream. However having to pay $39 for a day's pass is highway robbery. What I mean is compared to the Ballwin community center, this place has a five hundred percent price increase.

In regards to the salon....if you go here to get a haircut and have curly hair, DO NOT let Olga cut your hair. Worst hair cut of my life. She has no idea what she is doing with curly hair. Poor customer service experience as well.

Customer service!!!
They go the extra mile for you with their undeniable customer service.
I just got signed up for a new membership with Jimmy which he couldn’t have been a better guy and a representative to work with. I was getting ready to work out and I realized I left my headphones at home. The worst feeling ever..
I headed over to the cafe in case they sold any and the Café Manager, Alex was so kind and helpful to lend me a pair.. it was a life saving moment. Not to mention, the headphones were an older generation and she even found an adapter for it to be compatible with my iPhone. Alex & Jimmy truly made my day and will be forever grateful for them and their hospitality.

I wanted to wait a bit before reviewing our new gym, to allow my rose-colored glasses to properly fade back to reality. We've been members for two months, and absolutely love the West County Life Time gym. Everyone here is friendly and welcoming - from the member associates at check-in, to the Life Café staff, to the trainers and class instructors - everyone makes you feel welcome and glad to be there.

I mostly utilize the group fitness classes and treadmill areas, while my husband spends more time weightlifting and swimming. Coming from other gyms like Gold's, 24 Hour, and Club Fitness, Life Time is just on another level. Sure, the cost is higher - but you definitely get what you pay for.

The cardio and strength training class instructors are top-notch, delivering great workouts that are as fun as they are impactful. The hot yoga classes are great, too - I try to attend 2 classes per week and have noticed a dramatic improvement in my balance and core strength. Since coming here I've been able to overcome a fitness plateau and am already noticing a change in body composition.

I really like the class reservation system on the Life Time app; it's great to plan my fitness routine a week in advance.

The gym is always clean, and for those that care - they are taking every precaution related to pandemic restrictions. The only feedback I can think of at this time is that it would be nice to have a dedicated walking path through the weightlifting area to get to the Yoga & Pilates studios (to not interrupt and walk through workouts, etc.)

It offers a lot more than a regular gym! The pros:
-fitness floor is never full
- childcare staff are wonderful and the free tumbling, rock climbing, ballet classes, etc. for children are awesome
- monthly free parents night out
-pool and spa is great and never packed (and offers chair side snacks/drinks)
- shower and steam rooms are super nice
-Swim lessons and swim team team for kids are great
-currently being very safe with COVID-19 and taking many extra precautions

Cons:
- fitness classes could be more diverse. But if you mostly like only yoga, Barre, and Pilates, you’re in luck! Other gyms offer more fun classes, such as step aerobics and dance.
-fitness classes can get very packed normally, and right now they require you to attend in person and make an appointment, and they often fill up far in advance. Several have asked for live stream classes during COVID-19, but for some reason this request cannot be accommodated.
- pricy (but to be expected)

Overall I ❤️ this gym! Even when not able attend classes.

I’ve been a member for 7 plus years and I still dig this place. It’s clean, they refresh the equipment frequently, and the staff is great. My family also enjoys the food. Thom in the café is always accommodating and friendly. It’s also bigger and brighter than the Frontenac location because it has more windows, higher ceilings and bigger areas for freestyle workouts with mirrors to check your form.
