OTF family is the best family- Ashley, Shane, Bonny, Brie, Kaitlin, Alex, and Meredith! The coaches are so positive and encouraging. The workouts are always fun and a good mix of exercises. Before I joined Orange Theory, I thought about joining for a long time and was extremely intimidated. But I quickly learned I did not need to be, because all fitness levels are welcome. After taking the first class with Coach Ashley, I signed up for a membership and put my health first; it was the best thing I've ever done for myself. If anyone is on the fence, join now and you won't regret it!

Iβm going to preface this email by saying my experience does not include the actual workouts, only my customer support experience.
I signed up for a free class for then next day, and after waking up the day of, I realized I couldnβt make the scheduled class. I went through my emails to see if there was any links to cancel, but found none. No instructions on canceling and no links. So, I attempted to call at 6:15 that morning but couldnβt reach anyone. Several hours later, I get charged $12 for missing my class. How can I be charged when there are no instructions on cancelling? To me, that is extremely shady. If youre going to charge people for missing classes, I would think it would be important to include a link or something detailing how to cancel. Also, had I not checked my bank transactions, I would have never even known I was charged as I received nothing from orange theory about the charge.
This is not my first negative experience regarding their customer service. Several years ago, my ex-wife and I were members of OT, and after canceling several days before the new month started, we were charged for the upcoming month and told we didnβt cancel in time. Mind you, we canceled our membership 5 days before the start of the new billing cycle. This kind of stuff appears to be the norm with orange theory.

The βtheoryβ behind OrangeTheory really works for me!! Iβve been a member since they opened 5+ years ago and I feel so much healthier. I am stronger, without the crazy bulk and my cardio fitness has drastically improved. I run 5ks faster than my friends now where prior to joining I absolutely hated running. Monitoring my heart rate and overall physical output during class truly helps me maintain my exertion while oddly simultaneously somewhat pushing me to gradually do just a bit more. Tracking my results is incredibly fun tooβ¦Iβm known to brag about how many splat points I got! I donβt know how they do it, but every workout is different with just the right amount of challenge mixed in. Coaches and staff are incredibly supportive and encouraging. Itβs impossible to finish a workout and not feel happy with your success. I honestly love OrangeTheory Fitness works outs and this studio!

Great workout. I don't have to think about my workout plan for the day. I just show up and sweat. The studio is very clean. We wipe down our stations with a sanitary wipe every time we switch stations. There are lockers to put your stuff. Staff have been very nice and helpful. I love Marcus at the front desk, he is always in a great mood which really lifts my mood up at the 5am classes. I love taking classes with Ashley, it's easy to understand her over the mic and she walks around the room a lot and gives encouragement to individuals throughout the workout.
I wish this studio had tablets on the rowers like the treadmills have.
I like the app. It's really easy to use and booking classes is a breeze.
After a month of classes my all time favorite coach is Shane (I think he doesn't normally coach at Cottleville, he was just filling in). He was very attentive to everyone, constantly making the rounds to check on everyone's form on the rowers and the floor, giving a quick thumbs up as he went by. He gave rowing form tips to a few people. I've never seen another coach help with rowing form (And a lot of people need that help!) He took the time to demonstrate EVERY floor exercise which was awesome. It's sometimes hard to tell from the TV screen exactly how to do the floor exercise. All the other coaches demo a few exercises but he did them all. Especially the TRX strap moves. They can be tricky. I found he normally coaches in Ellisville. It's just a bit too far for me to go to, but I would've switched studios if I was closer than 30min.
On the business side of things the sales tactics are pretty scummy. There is a 30 day notice for cancellation, so you have to pay an extra month when you want to cancel. The gimmick of the gym is a heart rate monitor which costs something like $120 one time cost on top of the membership fee. If you cancel less than 8 hours before your class, you either lose it on the 4 or 8 class memberships and you are charged a fee if you are on the unlimited class membership.
If you want to freeze your membership you can only do so for 60 days max and each month you still have to pay a fee of like $15.
They have challenges throughout the year that you can sign up for. To sign up, you have to pay a sign up fee of $15 on top of your normal $110-$160 membership!! My studio was nice enough to waive my marathon month sign up fee since I'm new. That's really nice. But the membership is already pricey. Paying even more just feels gross.

I like that itβs a smaller gym and not overwhelming like the bigger ones. The personal attention, and motivation you get from each class makes you want to push yourself. Each workout is unique so you never know what you will be doing when you walk in the door. Lots of variety, friendly staff, and great music makes it a great place to workout.

OTF Cottleville has completely transformed my life. I love the friendly staff in the front desk. Hannah, our studio manager is very kind and helpful. She also encourages us to push harder and participate in upcoming challenges. Our coaches Ashley, Caitlyn and Jamie are fabulous (I miss coaches Erin and Emily). Also, the Cottleville studio is very spacious and it feels great to workout after a hectic day. Thank you!

Tried it out; awesome experience! Coach Emily was really engaging and got everyone putting in work! I think orange theory is much more geared towards leaning and toning. I want to say it was mostly women in the class, but there were a few men there too. It's nice to see your heart rate in real time and how quickly you can bring it up or down depending on the type of exercise you're doing. It takes the guesswork out of exercising and gives you an individual goal to achieve!

The purpose of Orange Theory is to help people reach their fitness goals, however this location is more worried about being sales people. Customer service is misleading and everyone you talk to says something different. Will reach out to you constantly about their promotions, but when you actually contact them they then say they you are ineligible. They don't stand behind their word and will cancel less than two hours before your scheduled workout. I'm going to take my money to Club Fitness and join Burn Zone (same workout concept) for a third of the price, plus all the other amenities.

This is my home studio and I've been going here for almost two years. They'd prefer to stick with policy over providing good customer service. I've also asked multiple times when the treadmills will be replaced similar to other studios. I always get a disingenuous reason that they're testing out new system when everyother studio has replaced their system and treadmills. I truly enjoy the OTF HIT workouts and coaches but I'm continually frustrated with the run-around by ownership.

If youβre looking for a different workout experience that actually works, you should absolutely consider OTF.
OTF is really changing my life to be a healthier me. Classes are tough, BUT achievable. I usually burn at least 900 calories in one session. Taking classes with Olivia in Cottleville or Ryan in St Charles is wonderful. Olivia and Ryan are masters at engagement, multi-tasking, and relationship building. Ryan and Olivia know my name! Got to know me quickly AND thatβs what brings me back and encourages me to push as hard as I can each time Iβm there. Iβve lost over 15 pounds in just 3 months. Iβm hooked!

I like OT workouts because of the wide range of exercise that you get with one workout. Doing cardio and weights has really helped to maximize my workouts to reach my goal. Orangetheory is not just a place to workout! It is a place to find encouragement, friendship, and the desire to better yourself. The employees and fellow members become your family. I LOVE the workouts and since the workouts are never the same and I never want to miss a workout.I have been a member for 11 months and in the first 3 months I lost weight, began to have muscle definition, and increase my endurance. As I have continued I continue to improve everyday.I love the different people I workout with on a daily basis; young, older, professional athletes, those just beginning their journey, those who have workout restrictions, those who come once a week, those who come on a daily basis and everything in between. I love the friendly front desk staff, the respectful peer clients, and the positive, energetic coaching staff. The workouts are tough, but still attainable. Modifications are always available, too. The workout forces me to push my body to -and sometimes past- its limits (as I perceive them). As the quote on the wall says, Iβm working toward the best version of myself.
