We played the course on October 17. It is definitely a very challenging course but extremely well maintained. They have marshals on the course to keep play moving, although the back nine did take 2.5 hours. But overall, a great experience.

Background: Played here at lest once a month for past 5 years.
Executive summary: Slow play and poor value is the Pevely Brand. Skip it, go elsewhere.
Detailed report:
Pace 0/10. Slowest rounds of my entire life played here. Even the members say 4.5 hours is fast, although most rounds are 5+ even on weekdays.
Course: 5/10. Condition great in some spots, and down right awful in others…. but layout is mainly just hills. Very Few flat lies. Often punished for good shots. It’s laughably silly in design on some holes.
Greens: 7/10. Not too slow but not too fast, but chewed - no fixed marks. Some green are just silly with their slopes/grades. Many are gimmicky, at best. Compensation for layout flaws?
Facilities / Club house: 5/10. Average muny style place.
Vibes: 3/10 - everyone I always get paired with always gets frustrated by the slow play. It’s their main memory of Pevely.
Service: 2/10. At least someone is there to take your money. One time they started on back 9, no one said anything to me when I checked in, no signs anywhere. Starter came and told me to go to 10, then asked me if I would be okay skipping a hole since no one told me and my paired group went off already lol. Never in my 30 years of golfing has that been suggested… until pevely! Unreal. Also, they never, ever, refill the water stations on the course.
Value: 2/10. I feel sorry for anyone who falls for the scam of paying 100 bucks to play here on the weekend. Weekday rounds are 65, which is also a bit steep for everything mentioned above, and a lot to pay to stand around and wait most of the rounds.

One of my favorite course layouts condition is always great. Don’t know what some of these people are expecting. This is one of the nicest courses in St. Louis never really had the slow pay problem, but now that I think about it, there was a Marshall there that was kind of rude

The conditions of the course were amazing. Greens were very smooth but they were a tad bit slow. They were slow due to the greens being wet. It would be nice to trim the tee boxes too. Fairways were in phenomenal condition and the rough was not too penal. I got to go off 30 minutes early and got my round in under 3 hours.
I ran into a group on the turn and they let me play through. Then I ran into a group on 16. I just took a few more minutes to pack up and clean my clubs while waiting for them to putt out on 18 where they met with 3 others for a total of seven on 18. It would have been nice for them to move on off the green to finish the formalities knowing I was waiting for them to
One comment was that I only saw the beverage cart once and some of the water cans were not full. I would also replace the holes vs putting the foam cap over the old hole. I got a few interesting bounces on the greens because of the way the old holes were replaced. My only other comment would be to let the patrons use the range ball machine vs. handing them out from behind the counter. The ball count looked a little low to me for what was advertised.
I’m glad that I was able to play here on my visit home.

It's one of the most expensive public courses in stl but it's also one of the nicer. Fairways, tee boxes, and greens are all usually well kept and nearing the summer the rough is getting thick too. Biggest issue is what everyone else has said. Pace of play can get SLOWWW. If you're hitting the ball well and find fairways it can be a really enjoyable course. If not then good luck.

This course is over rated. $100 to play a silly layout. For the money you pay you’d expect carts with gps, ball washer, paper towels in the men’s room. Don’t waste your money. By far one of the most expensive below average courses in the area

They closed the whole course for weather at 230pm. The storms moved thru in about 30 min and left sunny skies behind. I understand the need for safety, but in my opinion, this was a classic case of overreaction or not getting the right information before making a decision. They did give us a raincheck, so we'll be back at some point.

I booked the 8:48 am tee time today in an effort to play a normal paced round and have the majority of the afternoon free. That, unfortunately, did not happen. Instead, I paid $95 to sit behind two groups playing Ryder Cup-style matches from the blue tees consistently pounding balls out of bounds, leisurely looking for them, while taking
multiple mulligans thereafter.
This course thinks highly of their product, and charges you accordingly, but it’s clear corners are cut.
I’ll give them credit for having marshals (as they should but many courses do not) but they acted bothered when the pace and formats being played in front of us were questioned. It’s clear they work there for free golf and that’s it.
Additionally, it’s pretty laughable to have a big sign saying, “no outside food or drink on the golf course,” but then not have a beverage cart on the golf course for an 85* day.
After 5 hours and 15 minutes, I was heading home.
$95 is pretty stiff. With that said, I’m happy to pay it if the service level is there. Unfortunately, Pevely Farms isn’t at that level, they just overcharge their customers.

My recent visit to this golf course was marred by a highly unsatisfactory experience. The main issue stemmed from the conduct of one of the marshals, Marshall Dan. He exhibited extreme rudeness and unprofessional behavior throughout our time at the facility.
When I approached the pro shop staff to express my concerns about Marshall Dan's behavior, I was disheartened to learn that they receive numerous complaints about him and another marshal. Furthermore, I was informed that the other marshal has a reputation for giving just one warning before removing golf cart keys, an approach that does not foster an enjoyable golfing experience.
Adding to my disappointment, when I simply asked for Marshall Dan's name for reference, he implied that I was going to report him and even threatened to remove our golf cart keys.
In light of this unfortunate encounter and the acknowledgment of previous complaints, I felt compelled to share my experience. I'm inclined to leave a negative review on various platforms to alert others to this issue. As a patron, I believe it's crucial for management to address these concerns promptly to enhance the overall customer experience.
I hope future visits to the golf course will be more enjoyable for all golfers, free from such unwelcoming encounters.

Course is in great shape, only reason for 3 stars is the rangers are worthless. They have 3 and instead of speeding along play when we had 2 foursomes on one hole ahead of us, I get yelled at for having my cart 3 feet off the path at a tee box. Is that really your top priority??

For the time of year played (spring) the course wasn’t in bad shape, but you can’t ever budget 5 hours for a round here.
Started 15-20’ late, took 2:40’ for the first 9, and we were a 3 some! It’s just unfortunate they can’t figure out the ability to get a 4.25 hour round here. The track isn’t bad. Won’t be back though. Like baseball, some people need a shot clock.

Took a late February weekend to get away from the Wisconsin winter to play some golf and landed at this absolute GEM! The course speaks for itself, fair and entertaining layout with some test holes mixed in (par 3 8th & par 5 12th). Things got special when we interacted with the staff. Everyone from the starter, assistant golf professional, food and bev staff, and cart barn were accommodating, professional, and very kind. Will certainly visit again!

Really not sure how this place has 3.9 stars. The course is always in amazing shape, the views are some of the best in the St. Louis area, and the course is challenging but fair. The people in the clubhouse have never been rude. This is a well kept course, so I would not recommend playing here if you plan on breaking the rules and tearing the place up. If you enjoy a nice round of golf, then play here.

Course layout is challenging and they have some nice scenic views. HOWEVER I wouldn’t pay $40 to play this course much less $90. I played an amateur stroke play tournament here and the starter was one of the rudest people I’ve come into contact with on a golf course. Wouldn’t let us leave the putting green to head to the first tee which in turn made us late. Then the maintenance was watering the greens mid round and started yelling at my playing partners after they waved us up to hit on the green. From someone who’s worked on golf courses this is unprofessional and unacceptable. I will not be back.

Great time playing golf today. Played nine holes and the course was pristine! A tough course but tons of fun! Only complaint is the high grass is brutal as it’s easily how to lose your ball because this is a rather hill-centered course. It was also a bit slow moving. We however, LOVE Kevin, the golf pro and his lessons have been instrumental in helping me improve my golf game.

I was fortunate enough to have my son's Rehearsal Dinner at this incredible establishment. The scenery is breathtaking and I can't say enough about the fabulous staff that is so helpful. It ended up a perfect event and the weather even held out for us. Everything was picture perfect, the food was fabulous and I believe all this was possible because I was lucky enough to have a phenomenal person assisting me with everything. I am speaking about Brittany. I have worked with many people over many events and she by far is excellent at what she does. She has great ideas and no matter what you want she will make it work for you. Thank you Brittany for making a wonderful memory for all of us. You were more than a pleasure to work with and hopefully in the future, I would like to do it again. If anyone is planning an event, don't pass up the opportunity to work with Brittany and enjoy a fantastic place. You definitely will not be disappointed.

The course itself is okay and worthy of three stars as the layout offers some nice, challenging holes with unique elevation changes, especially on the back nine. The course is typically in average condition - not great but not the worst either. Greens fees are overpriced for the area unless playing a twilight round.
HOWEVER, this placed has been staffed with the rudest people for years. From the personnel inside the pro shop to the grouchy starters, the people that work here some of the most arrogant and ignorant people I’ve come across in the STL golf community. Apologies in advance to the ladies that work the bar area - they are usually quite friendly. This review is based on multiple experiences over the years and not from a single instance. Do yourself a favor, save your money and drive a mile further down Lewis Road and play Aberdeen. The experience is night and day different.

If you want me to leave refund all my money..we were on the 13th hole..Beautiful course..I was told Cart Girl started working at 10am..She did work but she never came to us to offer Services.

When I got into the clubhouse the pro in there told me he was giving me a discount, but asked me to do him a favor. He gave me his card and requested I call him during my round if the two groups in front of me tried to join up and play as a fivesome after getting out of clubhouse view. He would put a quick stop to that. After my round I immediately inquired about membership. Great and challenging (but fair) track with a tremendous sense of golf etiquette and customer value from management. Hadn’t played here I 10 + years and won’t be back. The rudest staff I’ve ever encountered on a golf course. The pro shop staff is unfriendly and curt. I booked on Pevely website for $28 but they charged me $34 with no explanation. The worst is the starter, who treats paying guests as if they are children that need to be lectured. Give the guy a clip board and he thinks he’s important. The course is exceedingly slow because they’ve jammed too many tee times back to back. Starter told us we need to speed up play while group in front of us is less than 200 yds away??? Then he lectured us to stay on the rough & don’t go onto fairway, despite the Clubhouse telling us the 90% rule was in effect that day? Which is it? Finally, the course itself is not that great. The back nine is an absolute joke. I’m curious if it was designed by an actual architect or someone’s brother-in-law. Horrible layout. Condition of fairways and greens below average. There are many better courses out there. Don’t waste your money on this dog track.

For $67 a round in the oversaturated St. Louis golf market, I expect a certain level of quality from a golf course. This place is *not* it. Where to start?
1) We played on a Sunday morning after there was supposedly some kind of drunken tournament the evening before. Okay, I get it, drunk golfers are terrible and messy. However, was there any effort by the staff to clean up the course afterwards or the next morning? Nope. Dozens of beer cans were littered across nearly the entire course, and "lost" golf balls were everywhere all over the fairways and mowed rough.
2) Okay, maybe the grounds crew was busy mowing or rolling the greens for the day's play? Nah, they just overwatered them and called it a morning. This lack of treatment caused the greens to be horribly inconsistent and for the most part, almost unputtable slow. The cups were fresh, at least.
3) The routing of this course has always been sub-par, but the management reached a new low with the abomination they made the third hole. This hole used to be a great short par four, and according to the guy I spoke with in the pro shop, was shortened to a par three due to a property dispute (of which Google turns up no information). That would have been fine and understandable, but for some reason the decision was made to turn the hole *back* into a ridiculously stupid "driveable" par four with a green that was designed for a par three (i.e., the player couldn't bounce the ball onto the green). In addition, from where the blue tee markers were set, the hole was 245 yards. A 245 yard par four for low handicap players! This is quite possibly the worst designed golf hole I have played in my entire life, and the guy in the pro shop was proud of it. "We had to keep the par 72. All the best golf courses have par 72." Guess he hasn't heard of Pine Valley, Merion, Shinnecock Hills, Oakmont, etc.
The only reason it gets two stars is because it's a beautiful piece of land.
