I usually don’t write reviews about gyms and am able to get a decent workout here most of the time, but recently this gym has been more than disappointing. A lot of the machines and equipment are quite outdated, as well as in poor condition. For example, the leg extension/curl machine both have the resistance pad on a slant, and the chest/rear delt fly machine has a similar issue with the handles. This makes it very difficult to train the muscles evenly and effectively. Along with busted seats, pads, and messed up handles, it’s clear that the machines are not maintained well. It’s an understatement to say that it’s not very clean too, with trash cans always being full and there’s always empty paper towel stations, especially the one in the men’s room. Not to mention, closing at 10pm is absurd, even more so at 8pm on the weekends! As someone who has to do things during the day, it’s inconvenient to have to worry about getting my workout done in time before the place closes. I think the gym should be open 24 hours, if not then at least till midnight, and definitely for the weekends too! Being the closest gym to me, I really do wish it was better. Even today, it was very disappointing to show up to the gym during hours when it was supposed to be open, just to find the door locked and with no one inside!

Just your normal average planet fitness. First time I had to goto 3 different paper towel stations and all were empty. I had to ask the staff if they're out of paper towels. Your employees need to do better and not just hang out at the desk.

Gym is ok but I’ve been getting a shower here every day after I work out and with certainty I can tell you this glob of hair has been in shower 1 for over almost 2 months . So what needs to happen is these showers need to be cleaned and bleached everyday. These showers are not being cleaned at all and that is so disgusting.

The gym needs to open back up before 5 am. Same equipment broken for a while now. Massage lounge chair has been broken most of the year. Standing in line at 5:40 am to be helped. Love this gym, but I’m getting to a point where I’m likely gonna switch gyms due to the hours of operation. Closing at 10 is pretty annoying, closing at 8 on weekends is pretty ridiculous considering other PF locations hours.

I've been going here for about four years. The staff has always been professional and friendly. The equipment is exactly what you want if you are just maintaining your physical health. Cardio machines, Smith racks, limited free weights and cable machines enough to target any muscle group from calves to shoulders. The facility is always clean. It gets super packed before 7am. I am not sure about the evening, but the parking lot is always full. The greatest deal in 2025. Full stop. Not 5 stars because it's not 24 hours.

The staff at this location is very rude. I signed up for a card and my app never started working I also never was charged thankfully since I’m not planning on coming here. When I signed up I waited at the counter for about 5-8 minutes while 3 employees were standing behind the counters on their phones. They did not even pay me a glance of attention and when they noticed I was there acted inconvenienced. I’m assuming whoever filled out my paperwork did it wrong since my pass never ended up working and I never got charged to my account! I actually came back a few minutes later because my app was not saying I was signed up nor any email confirmation. The three teens again ignored me for a couple minutes scrolling through their phones before asking me what I needed. When I explained I got a “Yeah that just happens sometimes wait 24 hours”. Well I waited and it Seems they are very good at doing their jobs as I lucky never got charged or my pass here and am I glad I didn’t!

If you want a gym pass get it at the Lees Summit community centers, I went there instead. Much nicer and staff who are also helpful and the gym is much cleaner and has a pool too!

Ive had a membership here for thee longest time. And I only visit this particular location. Its right by the house so its super convenient. As far as the review- let me just say Genesis could NEVER.
They do tend to have a frequent turn in employees, but my guess is they're teens going to and fro college etc. But the review is for the gym. Its always clean, the employees clean this place ALL DAY. It doesn't smell like a week old pack of dirty socks, like the competitor. low price, nice atmosphere, tan year round. They also recently installed new equipment, and yes, still same 25$.

So I just moved here from saint louis and in each planet fitness location there are bronzing, hybrid, and strong tanning beds. Do you anticipate updating the beds here. Gym is great but I must say I am highly disappointed in the tanning beds.

Recently this club randomly charged me $100 from my account, I called up to get more info and the woman I spoke with first said that she has received a few calls about this and that the manager will call me back .
I spoke with a gentleman shortly after and he then let me know that he will call me back once he has spoke with his superior.

Fast forward …. He calls and leaves me a voicemail stating that his superior said that I was needing to get ahold of my bank for a resolution????

The purchase was cleared in my account from a planet fitness so I called the club to get more info but he was unable to give me any other number or info about how to resolve this issue. He kept stating that his “superior” told him to say what he had previously told me and that there was nothing else he could do.

I’m highly upset that they shorten the resources of how we are able to resolve billing issues and find it sketchy that they charged myself and apparently a bunch of others from this club an extra $100 without any explanation.

They are individually owned from what I have learned soooo I would say
HORRIBLE customer service not on the employees part but by this “Superior” ( I’m going to assume the owner ) that I guess refuses to be know.

BRITNEY IS AMAZING!!!! I received a call from my daughter at 5:45am saying she was unable to workout, there was an issue with her account. My daughter had worked out the day before, no issues. I asked if I could speak to the manager, and amazing Britney was on duty! Thank goodness! I had explained to her that the payments had been coming out, and didn't know why the account was past due. I let her know I would be in there in 30 mins to workout myself, and if I owed anything, I would get it taken care of. She said no problem, and let my daughter workout!! :) Britney took time out of her busy morning to figure out what was going on. There was an issue on my daughters account from 2020! Britney helped us get the issue resolved, we were able to put my daughter on a Black Card and it took less than 10 minutes! I am in the gym usually around 6:15am 4 days a week, and Britney and Kevin are always smiling and always says good morning!! I am glad Kevin had taken over the gym, and Britney was his right hand! I see great things for Planet Fitness in Lees Summit! Thank you again for AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE! The new team that is in there always say hello and with a smile!

Ive worked out at every level of gym from Golds to community centers and PF is my go to because of the atmosphere of not only promoting gym etiquette but enforncing it as well. Staff welcomes suggestions. Other gyms have simply ignored complaints/suggestions, some of which were flat out dangerous (Harrisonville Community Center) and this PF fixed a concern of mine in 2 minutes flat.

I LOVE going to Planet Fitness! They ABSOLUTELY stand by their motto: "NO Judgement/Judgement-Free Zone". I feel soooo 'comfortable' going there and have TWO 'goals', in mind! ONE is to 'lose' weight and the OTHER is to 'tone' up the areas I have lost weight. With Plane Fitness' Judgement-free Zone/NO judgement, I am CONFIDENT that I WILL accomplish those goals! The ONLY 'drawback'??? I WISH that they were open 24 hours!:( OTT (Other Than That), I feel that this is my SECOND home and am HAPPY here!;)

Pretty great place for working out, not mentioning how cheap the membership is. The staff are helpful and it's kept pretty clean most of the time. Machines are almost never out of order and if they are, their fixed in a few days max. The machines are numerous enough that you never really have a wait unless you work out at the peak hour. This place has served as my foundation when working out, and I've made a lot of progress here. This was different than some of my other Planet Fitness experiences, but it serves as a flagship example.

We have loved this planet fitness but had a situation that ruined our experience with them.

We used to live in Lees Summit but now live in Oklahoma and use the planet fitness here and my husband needed to quickly cancel his membership due to his job taking him out of the country for a few months. He called the Lees Summit planet fitness and explained his situation and the employee said that he would cancel his membership for him no problem, and he would receive a confirmation that it was canceled. After the confirmation never came, my husband called back to verify it was canceled and it was explained to him that it was never canceled and he would either have to come in person to cancel or write a letter. That is fine that that is the policy, but when my husband asked questions about how to make this easier since he is neither in Lees Summit or able to write a letter due to him being out of the country for his job, they responded very rudely and were not very accommodating to his situation.

I’m not upset about their policy, It was the lack of communication that was really frustrating considering we were told it was canceled and taken care of, but never was. Then when we called, the people we talked to were really unkind and not pleasant to talk to. We feel that we treated them with respect but was not respected back.

I went in to tan at 6:30pm, they close at 7. I understand there have to be rules in place but I was told I was “one minute too late to tan.” Tanning takes 12 minutes. Just disappointed in the way the young man working there handled it.

Standing in the tanning booth waiting for it to come on and never did so I called from inside the booth to the front desk. to hear them say well I guess it doesn't work we're going to have to put you in another booth I don't have time to un-dress re-dress un-dress...my time is important.
