The night of June 24-25th I was at the PF in Central West End and someone cut the lock off my locker and stole my backpack that had my wallet and insulin pump inside. Locked my cards as soon as I seen it and almost immediately after started getting fraud alerts and notices of declined transactions. I had to have a locksmith open my car and then a flatbed tow it back to my apartment, as they had the keys and I didn't want them to return to take it. I noticed my nag was stolen around 1am and didn't arrive to my apartment via tow until 6am. Had to call my doctor and have prescriptions sent to a pharmacy ASAP so that I could at least get on injections. At this point my sugar was already over 300. Once I had insulin again I had to grab a flight back to my home (I travel for work) so that I could get an old pump I kept and my extra car keys. Missed a day of work as well. Flew back the next morning and went straight to work. For the next month my blood sugar was difficult to control with the older pump, as it doesn't connect with a cgm or operate via algorithm. Insurance won't cover a new one until the warranty expires. That'll be in December. I had my suspicion about the single employee on duty as I also know they have bolt cutters in the gym (previously locked my key in a locker). Police only took a report over the phone and pointed the finger at PF stating they'd know who it is due to all the cameras. There was also no security on site. Usually, there was a guy outside in a car, but I learned later that week via speaking with a security guard at the QT on South Kingshighway that they stopped guarding that location because they weren't paying the bill. Overall, this whole thing has cost me around $7000 and resulted in a month of poor glucose control and a couple close calls with diabetic ketoacidosis. The gym has never attempted to contact me despite having my information. It took me a minute to post this as I work 50+ hours a week and frankly have better things to do. This is my experience.

Eh, definitely not my preferred location for any reason other than driving distance. Their parking lot is cramped and someone is always getting their car messed with here. The facility otherwise is okay, but their locker rooms SUCK here compared to the other locations I'm used to. I hope you enjoy showering in ankle-deep water because they refuse to maintain and clear their sewer lines!

Pass unless you care about convenience (location) over anything else. I stopped coming here because of the sewer drain situation that they refused to address.

Great Gym with Excellent Staff – Highly Recommended!

I moved to St. Louis in July 2024 and chose this gym because it was just 2 miles from where I lived. From the very beginning, the experience has been fantastic. The staff are friendly, professional, and truly committed to creating a welcoming environment.

The onsite manager deserves a special shoutout—he’s not only knowledgeable but also incredibly helpful and approachable. I also appreciate the regional manager, who leads by example and is clearly dedicated to maintaining high standards across the board.

One minor issue I’d like to point out is the massage chair. Chair One used to be my go-to spot for relaxing after a workout, but it’s been out of service for a few days now. Chair Two isn’t quite as strong or effective, so I hope the owner can get Chair One repaired soon.

Although I’ve now moved back to California, I really enjoyed my time at this gym. If you’re in the St. Louis area and looking for a place to work out, I absolutely recommend this gym—you won’t be disappointed!

Their billing system is trash. The customer service number directs you to go to the local club. Called the local club and spoke to someone by the name of Dorian, who told me to bring in my statement. I took the statement in and then was told by another staff member, mind you whose service was horrible as he was constantly on his cell phone and I waited for 20 minutes before he even helped me, that I needed to email the regional manager whose name was on a card he gave me. No number...just an email address.

Not a safe place to park. If you must go, walk. Our car got busted into. And apparently this happens to them all the time. Today was the second day in a row that they had cars busted into. And despite that reliability, there is no increased police presence, no temporary rent a cops, no increased security cameras ... Planet Fitness has no ability or desire to make an effort. Staff is friendly though. Nice place to hang while waiting 30 minutes for cops to arrive for what is apparently a daily problem. Please add $500 for car repairs to your monthly membership costs.

Staff only kind of pay attention but are generally not at the counter in the evening. No one is really supervising. Last couple weeks, no one has been stocking the paper towels. I stopped bringing my car because everyone’s car seems to get broken into in the parking lot. People treat the lot as a pass through to avoid the traffic light. Staff park in ADA spots or in the fire lane near the door. It’s disappointing not to mention disrespectful but I’m sure they are concerned their cars will get broken into too. I've had a really disappointing and frustrating experience with Planet Fitness. What started as a simple gym membership became a financial nightmare and a customer service disaster.

During a recent visit to my local club, I was shocked to discover multiple unauthorized charges on my bank account. I was charged an annual fee and hit with three separate monthly fees. When I inquired about this, I was informed that I somehow had two membership accounts - a situation that was both confusing and completely unexpected.

I tried to fix this by asking to cancel one account, but that just led to more confusion. After the cancellation, both the app and the club's system showed that I no longer had any membership at all.

The lack of transparency and the unauthorized use of my financial information is deeply concerning. I'm paying for services I'm not receiving and my attempts to resolve the issue have only led to more complications.

Now, I'm in the midst of trying to get refunds for incorrect charges while also attempting to reinstate the single membership I originally signed up for. This entire ordeal has been not only time-consuming but also incredibly stressful, and has completely shattered my trust in Planet Fitness's billing practices and customer service.

I strongly advise potential Planet Fitness members to be vigilant about their accounts and charges. This experience has reminded me of the importance of monitoring financial statements and the potential pitfalls of gym memberships.

I just moved back to Saint Louis and have been researching gyms to go to. This gym has pretty bad reviews but it's the closest one to my house so I still went to try a day pass out. The manager was so professional, thorough, and friendly. Not only did she help me realize I didn't cancel my membership at my old planet fitness but she helped me get moved from my old gym to this one and offered me a guest tour. She was beyond helpful today.

My experience with Planet Fitness has been beyond frustrating and downright infuriating. Despite going into the gym two months ago to cancel our memberships in person, my husband and I were shockingly charged for subsequent months (although we went together, it was only my account that remained active even though we both signed for cancellations). When I discovered this error, I immediately called the gym, only to be met with excuses and incompetence from the staff, claiming the manager was conveniently unavailable.

The next day, when I finally got through to the manager, his response was absolutely unacceptable. He couldn't even bother to introduce himself properly and arrogantly claimed there was nothing he could do to rectify their mistake. He callously insisted that I come back to the gym in person to cancel, despite the fact that I had already done so. It's ludicrous and insulting that I should have to waste more of my time fixing their error.

To top it all off, when I tried to escalate my complaint to corporate, I discovered there is no legitimate corporate contact available. Instead, I was given a bogus email address by a staff member who clearly couldn't care less about customer service.

Planet Fitness is deceptive and outright scamming customers. Their inability to handle simple membership cancellations and their utter disregard for customer satisfaction is appalling. Avoid this company at all costs unless you enjoy being cheated and mistreated.

***Edit: they reply to reviews with an email you can contact to make it seem like they are being helpful. After wasting more of my time emailing all the information, they come up with (this is a paraphrase): we can’t actually help you or call anyone or cancel any memberships. But you can call your store and request that they take your information so that the regional manager can call you when they’re ready.

So I am supposed to call a manager that has refused to help previously and was rude in hopes that the regional manager somehow gets my information from the same manager that may not pass it on?

To top it all off, I got charged my annual fee because I was out of town and couldn’t go back in to re-cancel my membership, despite having done TWO MONTHS AGO.

Three months, they keep "cancelling" my account and then charging me the following month. I call and explain the situation and they tell me you can't cancel over the phone and that I have to come in. This is after three times of them telling me over the phone they could and did. When I do come in, they can't find my account to cancel it. Planet fitness must make a ton of money on missing accounts still being billed. My advice, just go to a different gym that actually respects you

I hate that they don't give out shirts anymore when u join but I still had my kids and two friends join. They say they don't have the high weight in free weights but it has so much more. This is a newer gym. Plentiful gym machines so something is always available. Early a.m. staff very helpful. Offers an upgraded tanning access and hydromassage bed/reclining lounge.

This is one of the bigger planet fitness locations among the ones I've seen. The equipments are spread out. Lockers are available and free, no need to bring your own lock. Plus the location is great. Take out places outside, the Schnucks is right next, so you can plan your groceries right after workout if you wanted.

Love planet fitness. This location at central west end is less busy than most and very new. Its not the most convenient club for me since I've moved but I prefer to go this gym from home. I use Overland gym after work.
