I’ve been going to this gym without any issues, and suddenly they decided to enforce a “no Crocs” policy out of nowhere. There were no prior notice, nothing. I showed up ready to work out, only to be stopped at the door and denied entry over footwear I’ve worn there plenty of times before. It’s frustrating, inconvenient, and honestly feels unprofessional. If they’re going to create new rules, the least they could do is communicate them clearly instead of blindsiding members. Definitely disappointed with how this was handled.

I've been a member at the St. Louis South Lindbergh location since it opened about 15 months ago, and I gotta say I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! The employees are always friendly and helpful. They are continually cleaning the floors, equipment, and locker room. This location is large with a well thought out layout of machines. It's rare that I have to wait to use a piece of equipment.
I was recently on a cross-country trip and visited Planet Fitness locations from Iowa to Oregon, down thru California and back thru Arizona, New Mexico, and Oklahoma. I can say with 100% confidence that the South Lindbergh location was by far the cleanest, best run Planet Fitness I've used. Other locations I visited had trash on the floors, broken equipment, and unfriendly/unhelpful employees. Most of the employees at those locations were more concerned with sitting behind the counter, talking to each other, and looking at their phones. It's exactly the opposite at South Lindbergh.
I get the feeling that the employees are actually happy to see us use the facility and want to help in any way they can. Special shoutout to the manager Abby, Divonte, and Doug who keeps the whole place looking great. Sorry for leaving anyone else out. Everyone I've dealt with here has been great and hard working. Updated 9/25: they have updated their layout and there is significantly more equipment for lifting. They now have actual deadlift bars. Love this gym, friendly atmosphere, very clean.

It's a planet fitness, so you aren't going to find real bars or power racks, which are definitely things I miss, but it's a cheaper gym with friendly people. Equipment and facility are in excellent condition. Always clean.

So me and my buddys went tk the gym one night and the computers were down. So i wrote my name down and found theyre names because they've already been there before. So I wrote a smile face on they're name, but my one friend must of wrote down something rscist. Because i got a phone call saying thst i was banned because i wrote something racist down, Even though i didnt write something down like that. As a truck driver i have been to almost every planet fitness all over states,it is nice to start seeing free bars,keep adding them even if that raises price,it is more then affordable and everyone would pay more for better equipment,also for this location you should allow semi parking for an hour at least,there is plenty of space behind,that is only reason for 4 stars.

BEST PLANET FITNESS EVER! This place is always clean, always safe and has a great staff. They even have an unassisted squat rack and bench press rack as well. My girlfriend pay every month to have an extra member only to be a chaperon every time I go. Think long and hard before you decide to give them your payment info. Once you sign up, it's almost impossible to cancel the membership. They'll lie about it being cancelled and continue charging you. Most cases require bank involvement to block all transactions from Planet Fitness.

Planet Fitness continues to do a good job. Nikki, Divante, Mark, Aiden, and other workers are very helpful and cheerful. Mark does amazing cleaning the facility. He is very conscientious about his job. Nikki and Divante are always available to answer any questions. The staff is excellent. I recommend it to anyone who wants to workout at a good gym.

Wow. What a difference a few miles makes. When I first signed up, this was the closest one to my house so I came here. There is a weekday manager that is just not friendly and I'm not coming here for best friends, but she's rough. She never smiles and she seems put out when I've asked for help or asked questions.

But I've had a couple bad experiences with one of the male employees and I asked to pull her aside today and told her what was going on. I didn't want to leave a bad review without letting someone know because I think that's rude.She just tightly crossed her arms, and defended him and said she's never had a complaint about him and everyone thinks he's friendly and he's been with different locations over multiple years. Maybe there's a reason he has to change locations. He mocked the outfit I was wearing today. What happened to the NO judgment zone? Maybe he thought he was being clever or funny, but he wasn't and it hurt my feelings.He shouldn't even even be commenting at all on anyone's looks. He said I was dressed too early early for St. Patrick's Day And laughed, even though that is just a few days away. And in fact, there were two parades in town that day that I was not attending. I didn't laugh. What an odd thing to say. What if I just dressed this way today because it was my only clean shirt? What if I dressed this way today because I thought I looked cute? Why should I have to explain my cute Disney outfit?He just needs to shut his mouth.

I think the only topics of conversation for the front desk should be: Hello. Welcome. What about this weather. Have a great workout. Thanks for coming in. Bye. Have a great day. There should be absolutely positively no comments for any reason about how a client is dressed. If I wanted to work out in a tuxedo, that's none of his business and I don't care what his thoughts are on my outfit.

Also, he was very passive aggressive and defensive on one of the days when we had snow and I was using the total body machine and it was gritty so I told him about it because I didn't know if he knew and he told me there was so much salt that they couldn't possibly keep up with mopping. It just was weird. How about oops I'm sorry. I'll let the guy that cleans know.

One last thing which they don't have control over, but something you need to be aware of, on my first day here there were multiple broken car windows in the parking lot. There was glass in multiple parking spaces. I think with Joann's going away and the very little traffic that boot barn seems to get, and the proximity to the highway, this is not a safe location.

I won't come here again ever. I would give it one star, but the one younger guy behind the counter is super friendly and super fantastic. I don't want to call out anyone by name in this, but I will just say his name starts with a D. He is a treasure and would make an excellent manager.

I've transferred my membership to the Crestwood location. They are so upbeat and are kind and friendly and make me feel welcome. It's worth the extra 3 mile drive.

I only go to this location for the bronzing beds. Unfortunately, they dont seem to be as popular at many of the other locations nearby. If only I could avoid a good half of the staff or at least the more bothersome / harassing ones. Starts with a d, I believe. Might have to cancel my membership and go back to my preferred gym. Plus, they have the vibrating platform in the RL stand-up, as well. Good for sore muscles post work out and so much more.
Plus the floors of the tanning rooms often feel like I'm standing on the beach. Is that like a sensory affect?

Today when I was working out at the Planet Fitness on S. Lindbergh in St. Louis, I was very impressed with the cleanliness of the worker Mark. He did an exemplary job of cleaning the gym. He actually got down on his hands and knees to clean around the trash cans. Mark is very conscientious of his job. I was amazed at the energy he puts in to cleaning. I also want to thank the workers Nikki, Divante Dominic, and all the staff at Planet Fitness for their service. They are always very pleasant and helpful in their jobs!

The gym itself and the equipment are nice. I’m posting this rating to make sure other women keep an eye on their surroundings. There was a middle aged (maybe slightly younger) man that kept following me around to different equipment one evening. I had my airpods in and tried to go in a corner where I wasn’t as visible as he kept staring at me. He kept moving around so that he could still see me. He approached me and asked if I wanted help with my workout and I declined and he kept asking, so I said that I was actually done and got changed to leave. All of the sudden, I saw him waiting by the lobby also about to leave even though he had just been in the middle of a workout. I had a bad gut feeling and reported it to the staff. Better to be safe than sorry. They were very kind and walked me out to my car. My problem is that they told me I wasn’t the first person to report him. I ended my membership because I didn’t feel safe going anymore as he was there every time I went after that and was always staring at me even when I brought a friend. It still bothers me that people are allowed to continue their membership even when other members have reported feeling unsafe around them.

I have never belonged to nor worked out in a public gym prior to this week. I chose PF because of their "judgment free zone" type of attitude in which I thought I could learn without being too itimidated. I finally got the courage to join and signed up for a new member orientation class for a specific day/time that was available in the app. I thought this would be the best way to get familiar with the layout and, hopefully, at least get an idea for what all the machines are and how to use them. I also thought this would help with my "gymtimidation" and self-confidence in knowing how things work. I walked in and told them I was there for the orientation class, and the response was, "we don't actually do that. Just let me know if you have any questions." I just got on a bike for a bit and tried to observe the space without being creepy. Exactly why I've been avoiding gyms. Maybe it just isn't for me. Or maybe it's just the same at any gym and I should join the one closer to home. I guess don't be fooled by the "beginners are welcome" sales pitch. Two stars because everything seemed to be clean and in working order.

The customer service I received was beyond terrible. The moto here is "judgement free, no criticism, everyone belongs"... What I got was completely opposite from that!! Been a gold member for years but am canceling my membership after the ridiculousness of today. I go to tan (which I've probably done a hundred times over the last 6 years) and I'm asked for my eyeware. Mind you, I'm using the stand-up. And I've never been required previously. So, guess what? They want to SELL me eyeware. Yep. It's supposedly a law, according to the 12yo blonde broccoli that thought it was hilarious I wouldn't be able to tan, but I've never previously been asked for mine, but we will happily SELL you some. Same as when I asked a month ago if the water fountains would be fixed to once again be cool... only to be offered to BUY a cold bottle of water.

Too many options for gyms for this place to be run by disrespectful kids who raise their voice at clients.

This particular location is my home location. I'm quite happy with the layout of this gym I feel that there is adequate room for each section besides just the main floor. There are always accommodating as can be when it comes to your needs in the massage and Tanning areas. The staff is friendly and helpful. Me and my friend were new to this location and needed help. Before we could make up our mind on what we wanted to do, we were interrupted by one of the kids this location decides to have working at the front desk, quite rudely. It only got worse from there. Her co worker, equally immature and hateful, added absolutely nothing to the conversation. These kids were immature, disrespectful, and judgmental. Neither of these girls were helpful, spoke down to us, and were confrontational when we just could not understand why some clubs let us do certain things while theirs didn't. Rather than explain it in policy terms, they made sure to use words that were belittling. Only come here if you have less than no expectation from the staff and are only trying to get in and out, or if you enjoy miserable people taking out how pathetic their lives are on you. Quite literally the worst customer experience service I've had in some time.

I travel around the country for business, I have a planet fitness membership because it is convenient and consistent. I have been to no less than 20 planet fitness locations and the one on South Lindbergh in St. Louis is by far the cleanest and most well maintained PF. I complimented Mark (who is ALWAYS either cleaning equipment or mopping the floor) and the guy is such a pro, polite, always working his rear end off. I am a business owner and I would want every one of my employees to model Mark. If I were the CEO of PF I would highly consider sending Mark around the country to train the culture and work ethic that the team presents in the St. Louis location, there are some locations that would benefit from this.

Blown away both figuratively and literally at the terrible treatment I was subjected to across the St. Louis metropolitan area, particularly at this Planet Fitness location. I came to the Gateway of the West to visit my dear cousin, who I haven’t seen since we were girls. During my time in St. Louis, I was repeatedly pursued by threatening characters shouting gibberish at me and gesticulating wildly everywhere I went – the Arch, Union Station, and Busch Stadium.

When my cousin (an athletic brunette) suggested going to the gym to calm our nerves, I was excited at the opportunity. When we arrived at this Planet Fitness location, my cousin simply waltzed past the front desk toward the elliptical, and I was stopped by personnel because my PF membership was for my home location, NOT this St. Louis location. I was simply visiting the Show Me state and could not wait to leave, so of course I was not interested in opening a new membership at this location.

I asked the staff if I could simply wait in the lobby area until my cousin (the St. Louisan) was finished with her workout. (My cousin liked to work out while watching the Sopranos, so I knew that it would be about an hour wait.) Multiple staff members told me no, that I could not sit and wait for my cousin to conclude her time on the elliptical. Instead of being able to sit comfortably in the shelter of the Planet Fitness lobby, I was forced to go outside and face the advanced darkness outside.

At this point in my St. Louis trip, I was still reeling from an incident that had occurred at brunch earlier that day. I’d been sitting in my car decompressing from having to pay the bill for an overpriced gourmet biscuit and gravy platter when a woman ran up to my car and began banging on the driver’s side window, spittle flying from her mouth as she yelled at me. After that, I didn’t feel like going back to the car sans my cousin, but it was so windy, I was afraid that a strong gust would carry me halfway down the street.

After about 30 minutes, my cousin noticed my absence, and we fled to her house.

* Update, returned the funds. AGAIN, took out another paymant and again called for a refund. Feels like this nightmare will never end. * When I canceled the account in September, I was told that no more withdrawal would be made. Not true! Charged annual fee three months later. The people that work on weekday mornings are all wonderful! The janitor Mark is a very nice guy. He does an AMAZING job keeping the whole place clean!! Collin and Davonte are also great people! The ladies that work in the morning are also great.

This gym is always clean. The people I have met have been really nice. Many don't just say "HI! How are you today?" They are able to spark up a conversation. Most of the time, you don't just see employees standing around. They are cleaning the machines and doing things to help the gym stay nice.

I have nothing bad to say about Planet Fitness. I mainly go to tan and I use the massage chairs and tables. All very cleaning in great shape. The tanning beds in my opinion are better than some of these tanning salons out here. And the hydro-massages are wonderful. The atmosphere is friendly but probably because the staff are all friendly. I do plan on working out soon or actually just walking a treadmill. This place is awesome!

Love this place..been coming since they opened but I want to make people aware of the kids that come for "free" there's a big group of high-school kids that are there.. they stand in groups watching people making fun of them and laugh literally in their face. Because of them.. this location is not a judgement free zone

Not a knock on this particular gym, although their customer service could be better, but planet fitness in general. I moved out of Missouri back to Florida. Have had this membership for almost 3 yrs. I go to a new planet fitness and they can't find me in their system so tell me they will call me to resolve the issue. No phone call, can't go to the gym. Then this month I get charged an extra 42 dollars after already paying them
So I try to call to cancel and have to call my "home" gym in Missouri. They tell me I have to come in in person to cancel my membership to sign some paper. Are you kidding me?! I am in Florida and they refused to transfer me to a new gym because I wasn't in the system even though I have bank statements paying you guys every month since freaking 2020. How am I supposed to cancel this and get my money back? This has to be the stupidest business practice to not have some sort of central customer service to handle things like this. The person on the phone doesn't even have a suggestion to try to help me. They are a national gym no excuse to not have some sort of customer service to handle issues, cancelations, transfers etc. I was going to maybe sign back up where I am now after I cancelled, when
I can afford it again. But definitely not now. I will never go to planet fitness again. Worst customer service. I had to reach out to their headquarters to try to get a response. Do not give them your business if you want actual customer service.

I went as a guest with a friend and decided to join that same day in December 2022. I told the staff member that I wanted to join and I was told that they don't sign people up. I have to go home and do it myself online. I thought it was weird, but I did it. The gym itself is fine. It's clean and had what I needed at the time. The location is very inconvenient and hard to get in and out of, so I decided to cancel. I called to cancel and was told I have to come in. REALLY? I have to go home to join but have to come in to cancel. What a scam!!! So I went in the next day and was told that I was a day late and that I would have to pay for another month. Service to me is the MOST important when choosing where to spend my money. I would recommend CLUB FITNESS over Planet Fitness hands down. They would never send you home to join, nor would they rip you off when you cancel. I know. I worked there for 12 years.

I love this place!! When they were building (remodeling) for it to open I couldn't wait!! I've been going since day one. It has changed some staff members and the hours seemed to have changed from what some others say, but it is still one of the cleanest and well kept facilities in town!! I usually go late mornings and I've never had anything other than stellar service. There's always plenty of parking too!!
