I went to a beginner class with a friend and we were so excited to pick up a new hobby to help us stay fit for the summer! My friend got a text the next day apologizing "for any confusion" and telling her that *the class we just attended* is women only (one of the reasons we chose Pole Worx) and that she would be welcome to return to the "all gender" classes. We're a little surprised we did not hear from you before the party. Typically, professional photographers call ahead to inquire, and some come in for a tour to check setting, backgrounds and lighting so they're prepared with the proper equipment to document the experience.

Funny thing is.... is I've been here before, like 7 years ago and had a way better experience with a different instructor..

Had the WORST experience I have ever had anywhere for a professional service. I was hired as a photographer by a Bach party and she had called ahead of time. The girl who set it up was not informed that I couldn’t be in there taking photos so the moment I walked into the room I got a dirty look and was told I needed to pay. This is something you need to tell people on the phone. I was so disrespected. The instructor SCREAMED at me. There are nicer ways to say “please put your phone away” instead of screaming at your “customers”. She told me I could take photos at the end (last 15 mins) so I got out my camera and started taking photos and she screamed at me again and said “MY CLASS IS NOT OVER, NO PHOTOS!!!!” When all I was doing was following HER RULES. I will absolutely never be back. By far the worst I’ve ever been treated. You ruined her Bach party weekend because you had an issue the moment you got out of bed this morning. I don’t even know her name. But when I find it out, I will be updating this review.

I like to joke that Pole Worx saved my life but it’s barely a joke. I was new in town in 2020, with covid in full swing, and learning how to pole dance at Pole Worx kept me sane. While all the teachers are great, I really recommend taking a class with Mary H. To this day she’s the best pole teacher I ever had, and I worked with a lot of amazing pole instructors on both sides of the Atlantic.

My sister husband paid for me and her to attend a Sunday class when we arrived we was advised we couldn't participate because he purchased it and it wasn't under our own profile but it was a surprise. I took a Tuesday afternoon open pole class with Mary that I really enjoyed. I am extremely new to pole and mostly practice at home. Mary was so kind and welcoming, plus a great instructor. She made sure to spend some time giving me pointers and encouraged me and cheered me on when I tried them out. Normally I would feel stupid for not knowing what I don't know, but she didn't make me feel that way. I'm excited to keep practicing what I learned today and hope to make it back to the studio again.

I can’t recommend Pole Worx enough! Did the chair dance only party last night with my sisters and it was a BLAST! Julie is an amazing teacher, and one of my sisters said she’s also excellent at instructing pole dancing classes too. It was a lovey, classy, but super sexy way to workout with my sisters AND learn a fun chair dance routine to impress our husbands. Julie was so encouraging, giving those of us—who aren’t super confident in our dancing skills—more confidence to do something different and spice up our lives a bit. One last thing I will add is that these classes are for women of ALL ages—there isn’t such thing as TOO OLD. Our love lives with our husbands are meant to get better as we age, not grow dull. God made intimacy with our spouses to me a pure, delightful thing that is supposed to be fun and exciting for both husband and wife. So if you have been putting off going to Pole Worx because of your age or your afraid of what people will think, let me reassure you that you won’t regret meeting Julie and learning something wonderful and new like this!

am an advanced athlete, I have been training pole dance for more than 7 years. When I came to the first lesson with the subscription already paid, I was informed that I must first attend 3 intro to the pole classes, then 20 hours of beginner, and only then can I attend intermediate. Other classes have nothing to do with the pole and are not worth that kind of money. intro the pole is the most boring class, where showing elementary twists and holds for beginners. The classes were very fun and engaging! If you’re nervous about going for any reason please try not to be! The instructors do their very best to help EVERYONE feel comfortable, confident, and sexy in their own skin! They really want you to have fun and try new things. I’d highly recommend!

The only reason I removed a star was for the somewhat unclear contracts and their renewal process. If you’ve signed one make sure you ask for a physical copy and note that when the end of the contract is reached it will auto renewal if you don’t give written notice.

If I could give 0 stars I could. The instructors are focused on their friends and members only. The first time I went the instructor was 30 min late and I wouldn’t mind if it wasn’t 20 degrees outside. I was talking to an employee over the PHONE about how I THINK I would only buy a 3 month membership. Before I went in to sign anything they took my money and started the contract before I signed anything. I obviously was not happy so I said cancel that contract and give me money back and they could keep the money from the 3 classes I attended. They refused and made me pay for a month membership. I want to add, I tried a dance class. During the WHOLE CLASS the instructor had to look at videos so she could teach us the dance. Such a waste of time and money.

I had surgery and was unable to return for a few months. They then charged my account and refused to refund me just one of the four months that was charged. Very money hungry group and honestly the classes were nothing special. The instructors only focused on there friends. I never leave bad reviews for companies but I am SHOCKED this business wouldn’t refund me ONE month considering all of the free money they received from me. I called Pole Worx to inquire about classes. I was informed that they have an all gender class on Sunday evenings but that the rest of the classes are women only. I told them that, while I have a masculine voice, I am a trans woman. I signed up for a class at Poleworx Having no idea what I was getting myself into. The first thing was I was lost. I called the number for the business and ended up talking to the owner for 15 minutes! She was so nice! When I found where I was going, I walked into a beautifully decorated space with graffiti art all over the walls. The studio was not only beautiful, but had nice equipment and good energy. What I experienced in the class was one of the most empowering, inclusive, confidence building activities I have ever experienced. I have never had so much fun in an exercise class. Mary, my instructor, was so easy-going and made the art of pole dancing attainable to every person in the class. She gave everyone individual attention and instruction. The other people in the class were fantastic as well. I felt no judgement, I was completely comfortable, and I have already become friend with several of them!!! t’s only been six days since my first class and I’ve already gone two more times. I needed something to help me build my confidence back after going through breast cancer. Poleworx is the place that will help me in that journey. Take a class, you won’t regret it!

a little more than 12 weeks ago i was looking around Kansas City for a gym. I knew i wanted it be a gym with classes and teachers so i could workout but also ENJOY it. And i found just that with Pole Worx! Pole Fitness had changed my life! (for the better)

I was talked into taking a class with a couple of girls a decade younger than me, and I thought I was going to be miserable. In actuality, I think I had more fun than they did. The instructor was great; she would show/explain a move, and then let you practice while she walked around helping/giving pointers if needed. It's a full body workout and the price is great. For what you pay, Pole Worx is worth it. It's the most affordable pole studio you're going to find in the KC and surrounding area. That said, the facility is lacking. The poles are 50mm if that's something that matters to you. The floors are uneven and known to rip off toe nails if you're dancing without shoes. Some instructors let students do unsafe moves before they've built the strength to support themselves, while other instructors really know what they're doing.
TL;DR It's cheap, and you get what you pay for. The instructors vary, and the floors are rough. Would love to see this business grow and get a makeover.

The teachers are fantastic, but the AC is never on ( especially with being in the summertime months it all). I constantly feel as if I'm suffocating while I am trying to learn a new stunt, dance or choreograph. This is a common and reoccurring issue. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who sweats while dancing, seeing as it is quite difficult to Impossible to stick or grasp on to the pole when it is excruciatingly hot, which makes the learning process difficult slipping and sliding off the pole and onto the floor

We had my 35th birthday party at PoleWorx, and it was a great time! We had a few complicating factors, but the owner helped us navigate everything seamlessly. My birthday is always on Boulevardia weekend, and it gets CRAZY in the West Bottoms. But overall, it was a pretty easy time! We all met for a drink at The Ship, then took a quick Lyft to the drop-off point, where we were able to breeze through the gates and walk right up to the PoleWorx studio.
For the class itself:
We had 7 girls total, at $20 a piece, and a private instructor. We started with stretching, then some basic pole familiarity, then on to tricks! The last 20 minutes or so was kind of a 'free play' and we got to use the cool spinning pole, and just generally goof around. I learned some cool tricks, and got a way better-than-expected workout. I am SORE today (morning after) in my hamstrings, shoulders, triceps, and hip adductors. Not to mention the bruises I sustained by throwing myself too-enthusiastically at a giant metal pole :P I'm not complaining! IT WAS GREAT!
Will definitely be back, and I think I might check out their fitness classes too. They've got a parking lot right by the door, so under normal circumstances, it's super easy access.

I recently scheduled and attended a Bachelorette Party Pole/Chair 2 hour private class. The scheduling process was easy and my questions were always answered quickly and in detail. We had 10 girls do the 2 hour private party with Julie. Julie was FANTASTIC! She was so nice and really made us all feel comfortable, and catered to our groups needs. She helped to make the experience unforgettable. The location is in a fun upcoming unique location with a urban feel. The interior is older but very clean! I would suggest doing both the chair/pole combo as first timers might get tired on pole for more than an hour, and chair is great fun as well! This class was one of the highlights of our trip to KC and I wish I lived closer to attend classes more often. I would strongly recommend for bachelorette parties

I started as a member from a groupon. I’ve never felt more comfortable in a fitness class than I have here. They were friendly but not very well at making everyone feel included. I thought these classes would have an actual lesson so I bought a 6 month package to make me buckle down and go, but the pole class was just an open gym. I grew up in a ballet studio and understand how close the student and teachers friendships grow, but the class I took was to the point where the teacher didn't even pay attention to any one but her friend. I am pretty upset because I book a party for my bachelorette party and I booked the date online and paid the deposit. I specified in my notes that I had one male in my party, who is my man of honor, so it was important to me that he was included. Then they told me only after I booked that men weren't allowed. I respect those rules, and I wouldn't have booked if I'd known, but they wouldn't refund my deposit. Maybe it is only because I have tried one class, but the instructor did not actually lead a class. I came to Pole Worx with hopes that there would be a lesson and it was "open gym." I have been doing pole fitness for more than 2 years and having an "open gym," with no guidance can be dangerous. There was a beginner student trying to do advanced tricks that she was not prepared for. Other students, who were also not advanced, were trying to teach her instead of the instructor. When she asked the instructor if she was doing the invert correctly, the instructor told her "you can do it however you want." If you have taken a class at a studio where they actually teach, you will learn that you should not do it "however you want," because you can get seriously injured that way. Also, when I called earlier to ask about the lessons before purchasing them, the woman on the phone did not in any way indicate that it was an "open gym." She told me there would be instruction. It was very disappointing. Although, I purchased a one month pass I have not returned due to the lack of instruction and guidance.

I have had experience in pole dancing before coming here. I came here for two months due to an internship, and I have never been to a better pole studio. I love Pole Worx more than my own studio. The instructors greatly care about the students. If you nail something, they cheer for you, and if you have trouble, they help you improve and show you some things to work on. We had so much fun at my best friend bachelorette party! We rented a party bus from their partner company and they gave us a free party bus hour while we were at our pole dance class at Pole Worx!! I love this gym! Do not be intimidated to try it! The atmosphere is laid-back and friendly and I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in the door. This gym is not just for pole. One of my favorite things about this gym is the variety of classes offered. It is easy to try new things to keep your workout interesting. There are a lot of dance-based classes like Zumba, hip hop, twerkout, and balates as well as yoga and boot camp. The owners are also very nice and receptive to adding other classes in the schedule if requested. All the instructors I have taken classes from are extremely nice, fun, and accommodating for all levels of fitness. The floors are very dirty, and the staff is normally rude. I love pole, i just wish that this place was not such a dump. Worst way to waste my money ever.

We went for a bachelorette party and it was so fun. It is a way to get the ladies to come out from their shell. It is also good for the bridal party to get to know each other and have fun doing it. It was a little hard getting hold of someone to set the party up but you text and she get back to you faster. I had a lot of fun and I am trying to plan a girls night out and take the class. ;) ;)

I've loved taking classes here! Not only is it a fun way to stay active and fit but it's really boosted my confidence! Booty bootcamp and chair are my favorites but all of the classes are incredible. Also did a bachelorette party here for my friend and that was an awesome and unique experience. Love Pole Worx!

I started taking classes at PoleWorx Jan. 2012. I had purchased a $20 Groupon for 1 month of unlimited classes and tanning. I then signed up for the 6 month membership at $40/month. It is well worth it. I look back at pictures & videos 6 months ago from pole class and compare them to the current ones and I cannot believe all the stuff I can do and how good I've become. It's hard to believe it's me! I love PoleWorx! All of the instructions are AMAZING! They are comforting and welcoming. Natalie, the owner is very friendly and genuine. Taking pole classes, which is a challenge, and Paige's chair dance classes has really built up my self-confidence and having tons of fun while doing it. PoleWorx is also a great way to find new friends. I have become close with instructor Von, and many people that attend her classes. I would highly suggest to every girl out there looking for something new, fun, and exciting to come by. There is a class for everyone! Pole, Chair, Zumba, Yoga/Pilates, & Booty Boot Camp. No matter what age, shape, or size you'll have a blast in all. Remember to keep an open mind and let your inner girl out!

I have never been able to stick to a workout regimen; but Pole Worx has changed that! I came in on a Groupon, and have now been going for 6 months. There are tons of classes to chose from: Zumba, booty bootcamp, Yogalaties, chairdance, and pole dance. The best thing about the class schedule is that if you attend a variety of classes, you get consistent cardio, weight training, and stretching. For me, the pole classes are where I have seen the most impact. By taking various classes, you build the muscle, balance, and control to get better and you end up being able to do amazing things on the pole. There are no men allowed, so there is no pressure in ANY of the classes you take, pole included. Learn at your own rate, and have fun!

Wow, this is an awesome place to have fun and enjoy a good workout:) I have been to Pole Worx twice for bachelorette parties. They were so much fun! The instructors were great and showed all of us some crazy, sexy moves. Just recently I went to Zumba, and I sweated my butt off. It was a great comfortable and atmosphere with lots of girls having fun. I am eager to try more classes. I know they will all be just as great as Zumba.

I love, love, love pole worx. I started going hen i bought a Groupon for 1 month unlimited for $20. Which is the best deal I have every bought. I have lost 13 lbs in the past month of being there. Their booty boot camp is amazing! The ladies there are very good about doing all levels of working out for first timers. Every one is super nice and helpful. Did I mention it is addicting. I am so addicted to going there and working out for that matter! So what started as a fun month work out pass with some girl friends has now turned into me signing up for a six month membership!! Thank you so much to the ladies of PoleWorx you guys are so sweet and amazing! Whether you are looking for a fun new change of pace for working out, first time at working out, or are advanced in working out this place has it all! ZUMBA is amazing as well!

I just got back from a Zumba class at Pole Worx, and took a Pole class on Monday. Both were so much fun, and great workouts! My arms, shoulders, and obliques are still sore from Monday, and my heart was pumping so hard after Zumba today--I definitely got my cardio in for the day!

Natalie has been very welcoming. I am impressed with how personable she is, and her dedication to the studio. She gave my friend and I individualized attention during our first pole class, and remembered us when we came back later in the week.

My Zumba instructor tonight was Kate, and she was a blast! She has a great personality, and was very encouraging.

I'm at Pole Worx on a month-long Groupon. I look forward to trying out the great variety of other classes they offer--Balaties is up next on Sunday!
