Honestly a great gym. Love the equipment and people there are super nice. But the customer service is pretty terrible. When I first signed up they gave me a 99 dollar enrollment fee (which is just another term for sign up) even though I found out later that their website says there will never be a sign up charge. They also are not clear at sign up to cancel your contract you have to pay 3 MONTHS in advance to do so. Because I’m moving I tried to get my account over to the Nixa rage gym instead but that’s even more expensive than canceling! So they’d rather lose my business all together. The last straw was tonight when I asked if I could at least get a military discount because I’m still a dependent from a military family, the guy at the desk laughed me off. I get only allowing discounts for active duty but you don’t have to laugh me off or be disrespectful. I hope this gets attention if you’re considering about setting up an account. I’ll be canceling my account in 2 months. Pretty disappointed

I want to start by saying I haven’t left a review in over five years. For me to take the time to leave a negative one says a lot about how disappointing my experience has been.

⭐ Equipment is solid and well maintained.
👎 Everything else — customer service, consistency, and communication — is unacceptable.

Main Issues:
• Horrible customer service and zero follow-through.
• Inconsistent information depending on which location you visit (especially S. Campbell).
• No accountability or proactive communication with members.
• No loyalty consideration for long-term members.
• Lack of basic consistency between gyms — you’ll get a different answer at each one.

My Experience:
I’ve been a loyal member since 2017. Back when Rage was just the Nixa location, I gladly drove from Springfield to support it. It had a gritty, old-school atmosphere and a great community. That loyalty is why I stayed through ownership changes and price increases — until this year.

Two years ago, I signed a contract at the Kingsley location. I was “grandfathered” into a lower rate, going from $20 to $34/month. It wasn’t ideal, but the facility was worth it. Fast forward two years — my contract ends, and without any notice (no call, email, or text), my membership rate was suddenly doubled to $68/month.

At first, I assumed it was the annual fee. When the second $68 charge hit, I went to the S. Campbell location to ask about it. I was told my old membership plan no longer existed, and I’d been switched to a VIP plan. They offered to reduce the price if I limited myself to one location, but I’d have to pay a fee to do so — and handle that process in person at the gym I wanted. Against my better judgment, I stayed on the VIP plan.

Months later, I visited the Jefferson location for the first time — only to find out my key didn’t even work. The staff member had to buzz me in and informed me my contract was set to expire again in a month. I was never notified. She promised to add notes to my account so I could speak with a manager closer to renewal.

When that date came, I returned — and, surprise — there were no notes on my account. Thankfully, the employee I spoke with that day was helpful and sorted it out, explaining that I’d already been paying the “month-to-month” rate and could sign a 12-month agreement for $63/month instead. He added proper notes, and after my workout, I signed the new contract without issue.

Then, the very next day, I went to Kingsley — and again, my key didn’t work. I had to be buzzed in and told to sign a waiver, which made no sense since I’d literally just renewed my contract. Why wasn’t that done when I resigned?

Final Thoughts:
This isn’t just a one-off problem — I’ve spoken to several longtime members from the original Nixa gym who’ve all had similar experiences. Many have left entirely. The lack of professionalism and organization across locations is astonishing.

It’s a shame because the gyms themselves are fantastic — great equipment, solid setups, and a lot of potential. But the management and customer service are absolutely killing what used to be a great community. Unless major changes are made, I can’t recommend Rage to anyone who values consistency or communication

I work at a gym, I’ve been to 50+ gyms across the country, and this place takes the throne. I’ve been here 3 times now and it hasn’t disappointed. Almost all Atlantis equipment that seems to be hand picked. It has all of the best Atlantis has to offer in my opinion. The atmosphere is great as well (music, members, and art). The employees are helpful and always cleaning. The layout is perfectly separated. There seems to be a recovery room and outdoor gym for members as well. My only complaint is I don’t live nearby.

Wow so much well maintained equipment! Everyone is super friendly too, very excited to be working out here. They have all the equipment you could possibly need. Their social media presence is on point too updating its members on how to use different machines or new events they have. A lot of their protein shakes are delicious too. Recently they have been varying their music too, instead of just rap all the time we've been getting an awesome mix of rock, metal, alternative, and rap so loving it. One of the best gyms in America. Knowledgeable staff and members range from beginners to pros, late teens to grams and gramps. Destination gym for sure! If you’re visiting the 417 you NEED to check this gym out. VIP membership gives you access to recovery room with sauna, cold plunge and compression sleeves. Also included in VIP membership is tanning and discounts on apparel and even discounts with partnered local businesses in the area. Rage Fitness is my favorite gym in Springfield. I was looking for a specific type of gym when moving back from KC, and Rage meets all of those needs. Not only do they have a great variety of equipment, they are constantly improving and upgrading. They are the same price points as other gyms in the area but unlike the others, there are multiple locations I can go to and I can see my monthly fee reinvested into each location. Plus they are 24/7 and given my crazy work schedule this is an absolute must!

I've been to a lot of gyms, this is the cleanest gym I have ever been to, also very open with great spacing.

The equipment is world class, equal or better to premier gyms in Las Vegas where reigning Olympians train at.

The members are also great workers, and seem well above the normal technique and intensity of most gyms, and that's a great environment for anybody to be in from absolute beginner to pro.

The staff is all super friendly and helpful.

Pricing is extremely competitive for all Rage has to offer. I don't understand how other gyms are able to survive with Rage in town and having 3 locations.

The absolute only *small* gripe I have is specifically the abductor machine that has a wide starting point (deadzone) but you can ask the front desk for 2 seat pads at the back left of their staff closet to wedge between your legs and the pad that mitigate most of the issue.

Rage is truly a world class facility in a small town.

Best gym in the four states area . It’s a real gym atmosphere, hardcore , with great music , good for bodybuilding , CrossFit and powerlifting . Super clean , state of the art equipment and awesome staff . It has a recovery area for cold plunge , sauna and other recovery methods and has tanning . I wish they had a branch in Joplin
