You can purchase your all day pass tickets online however purchasing your rental shoes and harness you can't. It's through the store which cost for two people is $21.50.

Was visiting KC and dropped in here. This gym is great. We only had time for some top rope routes. They were all interesting. Many of the routes felt very outdoorsy, which I love. Would climb here again in a heartbeat.

I absolutely love climbing at this gym! I wanted to expand my skills beyond bouldering and auto-belay, so I finally took the top rope courseβand Iβm so glad I did. Chris was a fantastic instructor: thorough, patient, and had a great sense of humor. The whole experience made me feel more confident and excited to keep progressing.

I canβt say enough good things about my kidβs birthday party at ROKC North. Elliott was kind, patient, and so incredibly good with the kids. Our group ranged from ages 3-8 and he made sure he spent time with the littlest to provide encouragement and hopped over to the older ones to answer questions and provide guidance on more advanced climbing routes. Our group includes a few neurodivergent kids and he made sure to have their attention and repeat himself several times when talking about safety. Everyone had such a great time and the older kids are already begging to go again.

I love this place - they have great facilities and great routes! I just took the lead class with Andrew and he was an amazing instructor that went above and beyond to help us out. I definitely recommend this place and think everyone should give climbing a chance, you'll be surprised how fun it is.

I've been an active climber at the North Rokc and their Underground facility for the last 2-3 years. The facilities at both locations are excellent as well as the staff. I started participating in the gyms yoga classes several days a week
back in the spring of 2022 and its been a life changer. They offer yoga classes 6 days a week and the instructors are excellent. I am especially grateful for Cole, who's the Thur, Sat and Sun afternoon instructor. His style of instruction really resonates with me and I'm always bummed when I am not able to make his classes. I highly recommend.

Just a quick update to my initial review that I posted 2 years ago. I'm still a member and often visit the gym multiple times a week to either climb, workout or attend yoga classes. I continue to be very Happy with RoKC and all of its offerings. Cole and the other yoga instructors are still top notch and the yoga classes are still where I get my most enjoyment.

I started coming here for the rock climbing but keep coming for Coleβs vinyasa flows. Itβs the perfect mix of challenging and centering, and I always feel better after his yoga classes. Iβve bounced around a lot of studios in the city, but his practices are always worth the 30-min drive.

We have tried numerous times to give RoKC a chance. Unfortunately, every single time has been a poor experience. There are always unsupervised children, running underneath adults, placing everyone in danger. The children also have no sense of climbing etiquette and disrupt the patrons around them. It seems like this is the place for parents to drop their children off and leave them to "burn off energy" because they believe this is a jungle gym and not a place to participate in a sport. Occasionally there are staff members that are supposed to be chaperoning large groups of children, but they are unsuccessful and oftentimes make excuses for the children's poor behavior rather than correcting the issue. Furthermore, we consistently come across damaged areas of the wall where either the wood is breaking as you pull in the holds or where the holds are slipping/loose. When reported, staff has not fixed them. I understand that I signed a waiver stating I understand the inherent dangers of climbing, but those dangers do not include falling on small children or injuring myself because of a loose hold, broken wall, or over-worn mat. Bear in mind, we have been here about 15 times, but we will not be returning.

I have had a membership to RoKC for about four months now, and I'm always happy to walk into this gym. They have a good mix of bouldering, top-rope, lead, and auto-belays. I took their Top-Rope belay course and the instructors were so friendly and helpful! They were great with making sure everyone was understanding the step we went over before moving on. The only thing I have noticed which is worth a warning, it can be a bit toasty in the gym on summer days (but what climbing gym isn't to be honest).

This has been my nearby home gym for a number of years.
They have auto belays, top rope, and lead, as well as bouldering.
If you are lucky and catch them in stock, the owners mom makes frozen peanut butter & banana graham cracker treats!
They have a wrap around tall wall in one good sized room with a small section in the middle. It has a small slab section, which also typically has some easier routes. They have a tall slightly back slanted area which is lead only. ... And a variance of things in between, mostly medium height, but some corners and such. They usually have a good variety of interesting problems set - which gradually rotate.
The front room, side from the front desk, includes a small conventional gym, then the bouldering area curves around a couple of times giving a pretty good variety. There are a couple of spots which are over hung.
They also have a yoga / community room. Everything is on the first floor.
The staff are friendly, the community is generally very friendly overall, granted there are tons of different people coming in.
Not the tallest walls or biggest facility in town, but it is a nice place and definitely worth while if you are looking for a nearby climbing option.

RoKC is a great rock climbing gym. The staff was very knowledgeable about their equipment and explained everything clearly and answered all our questions. We will be back soon. Overall a great experience. We went on a day that was 95Β° and sunny outside, but inside even on the high walls, it was comfortable with the AC in the lower 80's.

Earlier this year my wife and I joined RoKC North to explore climbing for fitness, and we have been very pleased with the facilities, staff and overall experience.
The surprise benefit was the yoga classes, particularly the Thursday, Saturday and Sunday classes with Cole. Cole brings a great combination of spirituality and physicality to the classes that has improved our fitness, health and mental wellbeing. And he does so while creating a fun and relaxing atmosphere. He checks in with each student throughout the practice, making the classes accessible for all levels of fitness, age, and capability.
We now participate in yoga as much, if not more, than climbing, and we always look forward to classes.

My family joined for the climbing and while I've enjoyed starting to learn to climb, I keep coming because of the yoga classes. The Thursday yin and Saturday Vinyasa classes with Cole have become a regular part of my week and I'm trying to add in the Sunday Hatha yoga class some weeks. My flexibility and balance are improving and some nagging injuries are feeling better from the deep stretches in the yin class. Appreciate Cole's attention to providing modifications/props as needed and making sure each student is getting what they need from class.

RoKC North is such a fun location. With a great ratio of bouldering and tall wall, thereβs space for everyone. They offer classes, have running groups and yoga classes. The staff are always welcoming and the community is tight knit as well. For parents, there are many tables with areas to work. This location has a smaller gym. Fun gym. The equipment is solid and the pathing on the walls changes enough that most people will find something to try and be able to work up and challenge themselves.
Equipment rental is good, shoes run small but they will work with you to get a pair that fit.
Auto belay walls are awesome. The environment is friendly. The staff were helpful with everything and helped me with the sign in process (the system was having issues and they resolved it efficiently.)

I brought my friends here when they came to visit KC and we all had a blast. My favorite is definitely the auto belay paths which are super accessible for all skill sets and fun to descend with. Iβve been climbing during the winters the last few years with some friends and have been impressed with the facilities and staff. Since early December weβve been taking advantage of the various yoga classes that are offered, mainly at North Rokc. Weβve gravitated towards Coleβs Thursday and Saturday classes. He seems to really understand each students level and offers advice and adjustments where needed. He challenges you and adds in a dash of humor to boot. Iβve made steady progress and the flexibility and strength translate into all aspects of life.

The overall feel and vibe is fantastic, the repurpose of an old industrial building is really fantastic and rustic. The climbing was great and had a solid amount of challenge, I do think the only thing a little odd was not using the Yosemite decimal for the routes, besides that the routes felt accurately rated for what they were. The checkin process was great and the staff were friendly. Getting a belay check was simple enough but It did lack a buddy check to ensure that the harnesses were correctly put on and that all straps were double backed. It would also be nice if they had some indication that you were belay checked. They are overall minor things overall but I would definitely go back!

ROKC North is a great facility. The staff is awesome and it feels very welcoming, especially for a new climber coming on her own - I didnβt feel intimidated or excluded at all and it has quickly become a staple of my daily routine. I just tried my first yoga class (Yin Yoga with Cole at 7pm) and it was so relaxing and restorative. It felt like a luxury spa experience! The monthly membership is reasonable and the many autobelay options mean that you can come solo and spend as much or as little time as fits your schedule.

ROKC is wonderful! I am not a professional climber by any means, but anytime I am home for breaks I buy a punch pass and come at least once a week. The gym is clean, the staff and people are very friendly and helpful, and my favorite part is yoga with Cole! He is a wonderful yoga instructor and he soothed my anxieties about practicing in front of people. He somehow knows exactly what mantra I need that day and he makes sure to come around to each of us during class to ensure we are getting the most out of our stretches. He is a wonderful instructor and person and I so look forward to my visits to ROKC and classes with Cole!

I travel for work and climb at lot of different gyms, and this is by far the best gym I've been to in Missouri. Great boulder wall with lots of interesting problems... whatever you want to work on, there's probably a boulder that emphasizes that. And there are dozens of auto belay routes that are challenging , creative, work lots of different skills, etc... like you're climbing on small holds one minute, then you're hugging the wall because there are no handholds, then you have to smear your way up a chimney for a bit etc. The route setting in this gym is so good.

I love ROKC North. I have been coming here for more than 6 months now and it is my favorite ROKC location! The staff is friendly, the routes are great, and the classes offered are now part of my weekly routine.
I started going to Thursday nightβs Yin yoga with Cole about 2 months ago and have loved incorporating this into my active recovery days. The restorative yoga is challenging but has lasting benefits. I struggle with hip pain when I exercise, and Coleβs yoga has helped relieve the pain so much!
I have also been going to Saturday ROKC Fit with Cole and I love the challenging workout! The first class, I have not sweat that much in a long time! Itβs a great mix of strength and cardio. I love the way Cole pushes us by changing the exercises up just a bit on the last couple sets to challenge us even further. I am also grateful for the focus on recovery after the class. Cole always leaves 8-10 minutes for intense stretching.
Myself and partner are now members of ROKC and I anticipate us continuing to come here for a long time! The only thing I would want different is more class options!

I'm a local Doctor and I had a chance to be at the ROKC north location to help them with a bouldering competition they hosted this last week. I was so impressed with the staff and how they interacted with the climbers who showed up for this event.
This was an awesome experience. I was able to meet each of the staff members and talk to them personally. they really enjoy working with their members and they pride themselves on providing a clean, safe and enjoyable environment for everyone.
If you're looking for a great place to meet family or friends for some fun this summer, you need to check out one of their 3 locations. if you are up for the challenge, try all 3! There is something unique about each one.

We took our 5-year-old daughter to one of their "Little Senders Camp" instruction courses. The front desk was courteous and our instructor, George, was amazing with the kids. He took time to learn the kids names and get them stretched for the class.

This place is huuuuge and super fun. You can get a day pass and rent harness and shoes for like $30 (discounts for students and front line healthcare workers!) and stay at long as your muscles can handle it. I start on the "warm-up" wall, tilted away from me to get used to the auto beley and the shoes and usually end up back there when my rookie hands and forearms get tired on the harder slopes!

It is a little pricey for just an hour, but you get a full day pass so you can stay as long as you want or go in the morning and the afternoon. The employees were all very helpful explaining everything, fitting harnesses, and showing our kids how everything works. They have a lower height bouldering area with side to side paths and a climb over area. They also have a large vertical area with many different levels of climbs set up with auto-belay. Our group had kids from 5 (42" and 40lbs) to 11 (63" and 90+lbs)who all were able to climb multiple areas and the auto-belay worked great for each one. There were obviously several other groups with adults and kids of varying heights and weights all climbing and having fun.

I've been coming to this gym since about six months after they opened. I needed something different for workouts and found it at RoKC.
I don't think I'm the typical person who goes here. (I'm a bit older and grayer than most, I think.) However, the staff has always been very helpful and friendly. They're happy enough to give guidance to newcomers, so don't be afraid to give it a try.
I LOVE that I was able to take my pre-teen (now teen) in the colder months for something different to do to work off the cold weather blues. My girlfriend's 10-yr-old LOVES it and acts like it's a real treat.
The other users of the facility are typically friendly. This is WAY better than typical gyms all around. I think I've only ever seen one cranky person here the years I've been going.
I travel an hour to get to RoKC North. I sure wish there was something like this closer to St Joseph. Still, the drive is absolutely worth it.
I love this place and suspect that anyone trying to shake off the lockdown or winter blues will too.

Hi this is Erick Espinoza . I really like to go to ROKC, but I feel like I miss out on alot of the problems, because I'm partially colorblind is there a way that it would be easier to identify the problems

This place is amazing for beginners and pros, staff is really nice and overall great. It was my first time there and I built up enough strength to go up the 40ft wall. The reasons why I only have this place 4 stars was because I felt they could have put more spots to climb and its a little pricey.

I love rokc and have been a long time member. Unfortunately, they do not enforced mask guidelines very well and I was forced to cancel my membership for my safety.

Always clean and nice in the gym. My hubby and I have to bring our kids so we try and go off time. It's always fun for them and staff seem to be super understanding that my kids are young as well. Just love this place!

We took our kids (9 and 12yo) climbing for the first time today. They had a blast, and so did I. Staff were quite helpful to newbies, and helped the kids figure everything out.

My go-to climbing gym in KC.
Great selection of tall wall and bouldering routes. The routes are always fun and challenging.
The staff are always super welcoming and friendly. I took both my top rope and lead classes through North and really appreciated the instructors.
Music playlist is always top notch too!
Only wish is that tall wall routes would get reset a little more often.

Right price. Friendly staff. Boulder and wall climbing along with a small section of gym equipment. You can buy a day pass or monthly pass. They have difficulty levels from beginner the extreme.

Fantastic staff, great facilities, awesome vibes! They play fun music but mix it up all the time, I can't remember hearing the same song twice in 10+ sessions. The membership option is fair. Can get busy on Saturday and Sunday after 12pm-1pm with families and casual climbers, so go on a weeknight or weekend morning for the most space. Two of my friends have joined after I've taken them here.
Has a solid bouldering section and fun auto-belay/top rope/lead climbing walls, plenty here for any skill level.

I have been going to ROKC since October now and am blown away by this type of climbing in the Midwest. The staff is super friendly, the climbing community is super welcoming and the whole gym is fantastic. I go a few times a week and still feel like I always have a route to work through or bouldering problem to solve. I highly recommend this gym to everyone!
