Shanti is a truly welcoming and inclusive yoga studio. The space is trauma-informed and healing-centered, with a diverse team of compassionate teachers. I always feel seen and supported here. Highly recommend the sound baths and tarot offerings. They’re powerful and grounding.

Convenient times, variety in practice types and practitioners. Great value for me to do unlimited membership. The 4 week intro price gave me enough time to evaluate my commitment and explore all the offerings. Went in hoping for one thing and got so much more. Authentic down to earth vibe. Try it out!

A friend introduced me to Shanti Yoga. From the first time I attended a class, I felt welcomed, embraced and at the same time respected for my need of quiet and space. That yin and yang of things is apparent in all aspects of the work that goes on here. Challenging classes and relaxing classes. Chatty friendly people who seek to do things together, and, solitude seeking people who savor the space and the yoga practice. New extended creativity with yoga practices and respect for the traditions. I highly recommend each and both of these Shanti Yoga studios.

I started taking virtual classes at Shanti during the pandemic in 2021 and recently completed my 350th class. The instructors are all fantastic and are great about making you feel welcome and included. It's truly a community. If you've been thinking about starting a yoga practice or getting back in, come to Shanti!

I decided to take the journey into yoga after becoming an empty nester and looking for a way to slow down and exhale. I researched yoga studios and loved the feel and messages on Shanti's social media feeds. That was 2022 and now I am a devotee and found an AMAZING community that goes beyond the mat. The teachers inspire me, the two locations are designed to transport you into a zen state of mind, quality equipment, and creative workshops. I could go on and on, but looking forward to my upcoming 200th class and beyond!

Shanti is the absolute best. My therapist suggested I start yoga to help with my mental health, and on a whim I picked the studio closest to my apartment. Since I am low-income I was wondering how I was going to afford a yoga studio membership, but I found out Shanti offers a scholarship program for volunteering to help out around the studio - that's a rare offer in the world of fitness memberships. I'm beyond grateful to have this incredible opportunity. The studio is always super clean and smelling fresh and calm. Every instructor I have worked with is incredibly friendly, welcoming to all levels, and helpful with whatever a student may need. If you are even thinking about getting into yoga, Shanti has a special offer 30-day trial pricing which is a steal! Make Shanti your new yoga home.

Shanti Yoga is a truly phenomenal and healing yoga studio. The studio offers a variety of classes from power vinyasa to yin and restore. They make classes accessible and approachable for students of all ages. The instructor's make an effort to get to know you, and ask what areas you want to work on in class. I practiced at few other yoga studios in the past, but this is the first one that felt like home. If you are interested in trying yoga, or looking to return to the practice I highly recommend checking out this studio!

Shanti is WONDERFUL. The community is warm and welcoming, and the studio is cozy and always clean. I’ve really appreciated their careful approach to practice through the pandemic. Aside from the restorative or beginner classes, I appreciate that many class offerings are more challenging than other yoga studios I’ve tried around STL. But they strike a great balance - all are welcome and the teachers do a great job of including everyone and making sure modifications are offered for all skill levels. Highly recommend!

Warm welcoming environment. Every instructor is super knowledgeable. I have an old ACL tear and fracture that causes instability. All the instructors have been amazing in helping me find alternative posses or modifications to possess. I was super nervous starting back into yoga but quickly felt part of the community. I love the wide variety of classes and times of classes offered. The stretch and restore is my all time favorite. I find this class super helpful in learning the different breathing techniques.

Shanti is a fabulous studio. Each instructor is welcoming, friendly, and guides in an accessible way. I love that there are no mirrors, it's a cozy, welcoming, and all around good vibe place!
I appreciate that Shanti makes steps to de-center whiteness in yoga, honoring the practices roots and doing so an authentic, approachable way. (Music is appropriate for a yoga class, there is instruction that encourages you to take agency and do what's accessible in your body).

highly recommend it- check out Shanti! ♥️

I have so enjoyed my classes at Shanti Yoga! I’ve particularly enjoyed the Wednesday morning Hatha Flow class with Carey. It’s just a lovely practice, and Carey is fantastic about supporting modifications and/or people’s different paces. One thing I’ve loved about Shanti in particular is that everyone is warm and welcoming. I’ve been to other yoga studios and classes where hardly anyone smiles or makes eye contact. Just being acknowledged as a fellow classmate makes a huge difference to me!

I started practicing at the Maplewood location in January. It's my first time practicing outside of power yoga classes at the Y - and the transition has been really smooth and lovely. Every question that I've had has been answered quickly and thoroughly. I've developed a schedule that works for me and my schedule - Saturday afternoons with Stephanie, and Wednesday and Thursday evening classes with Rose and Casey. Each class has been challenging but approachable, and the instruction is personal and top notch. I worried about feeling out of place in a new studio space, but I don't at all. These classes are the highlight of my week. I also do strength training, and am a long-distance runner and am currently in training for a race in March. I'm convinced that practicing yoga is the best way for me to stay healthy and injury free, to build strength and a breath practice that makes the effort of running so much easier and enjoyable. Glad I found this studio.

I love finding this gem 💎 of a yoga studio after all these years of practicing and teaching yoga around St. Louis and then world. Shanti feels like a cozy urban chic find in the middle of Maplewood with a second location on Kingshighway, offering plenty of options for students throughout the week. The owner, Katie, and the studio manager, Carey, are super responsive, from answering questions and making expedient changes on yoga mat cleaner to extending specials on introductory rates. The special touches make a difference from real candles to plants to creating conscious and thoughtful spaces to practice, along with caring and conscientious instructors. On walking up to the studio, I feel as if I'm entering a different, more peaceful world. All of the instructors have made me feel welcome from day one. I especially enjoy Hatha Flow with Carey McNeilly. Whether you're new to yoga or have been practicing for years, I would definitely recommend Shanti Yoga!

I have taken several different classes at Shanti with multiple instructors. Every time, I leave feeling refreshed and rejuvenated! All of the instructors I have encountered are very supportive and lead the classes in a way that’s easy even for beginners to understand. I’m so thankful so have such an awesome place to practice yoga right here in my South City neighborhood.

I started attending classes at Shanti Yoga in Maplewood after the new year. I've really enjoyed the different classes I've taken so far and the space is very appealing. I enjoy the warmth and lighting of the space, and haven't felt cramped in any of the classes. The teachers have been engaging, approachable, and informative. Financially, the intro month package price can't be beat. And logistically, the only issue I'm having is making it to class as much as I'd like. I wish there were more classes at Maplewood at the 5:30 or 6:30 times during the week, as well as weekend afternoons. But I'm still new, so I hope to get into the swing of things and may make it over to South City if/as needed. In all, though, I'm really pleased with my experience at Shanti so far.

Love this place! I highly recommend starting out with their 30 day trial, which lets you sample a number of different classes and techniques to find one that fits your needs and routine, which was great for me. Their teachers are nice and the space, especially the Maplewood location, is really lovely.

I really love this yoga studio. There's a such a wide range, in terms of classes and instructors—really something for anyone. I have yet to take a class with an instructor that I didn't think was amazing--fun, relaxing, and able to challenge me in just the right way. So far, I've taken classes with Casey, Sophia, and Sheila, and they are all gifted instructors.

Shanti yoga is a wonderful studio! They are welcoming, accommodating, and truly embody the essence of a holistic yoga practice. They offer classes from slow flow yoga to more intense classes like vinyasa yoga, and they also have a wide range of other offerings, including meditation, gong, and whole body movement. I absolutely love the positivity and support I receive at Shanti, and I would highly recommend to anyone interested in yoga and meditation!

Yoga has been a life changing experience for me. I struggle with depression and anxiety and it has helped me out therapeutically by focusing on my breath movements. It has also helped me to grow into my deeper self. It’s stretched me, challenged me, and taken me out of my comfort zone, but every instructor has been super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this studio!

I have been a member here for a little over a month now and I absolutely love it! The community is great and very welcoming to all levels in every class that I have been in. There is a variety of teachers and a wide variety of yoga styles. It's been really nice to switch it up and try variations of yoga practice with different instructors. If you want a studio that will teach you about the actual practice of yoga and not just focus on the fitness, this is the place! Shanti is also mindful of financial needs of those who might not be able to afford a full yoga membership. I am in grad school and I applied for their scholarship to help lower the cost and be able to afford a yoga membership. This membership has been a great investment into my self-care!

Studio: beautiful, open, warm, clean, well-designed, intimate

Instructors: top notch, authentic, haven’t had one yet who HASN’T been outstanding

Favorite classes: Katie Kelly’s Sunday morning (10:30, but get there early; it’s always packed)
Sheila Pride’s Yoga for Healing
Sophia Brown’s Community Yoga

Business practices: Very well organized, clear and friendly communication, professional, fair pricing, and this biz supports the community in a variety of ways, such as donating proceeds from Thanksgiving day yoga classes to a local nonprofit.

Other: They have really cute T-shirts I’ve been eyeing for a while! Also the owner Katie is an RN and recently opened a Holistic Health coaching practice, integrating her fields of study and expertise (nursing, yoga, nutrition) into what she can offer clients. Definitely worth checking out!

Shanti Yoga is my favorite studio in St. Louis, and as a ClassPass user I have been to most. The atmosphere is calm and comforting, often with candles lit throughout the room. The teachers promote a peaceful attitude and pay attention to each student’s individual needs. One of my favorite things about Shanti is the relaxation adjustments that many teachers make at the beginning of shavasana. Using essential oils, they lightly tug at the neck and push down at he shoulders to completely relax you into your mat. It’s these special, intimate touches that make Shanti’s classes stand out from the rest.
