Iβd give 0 if I could. Ive been dealing with the Y for me and my family for years! This is the only location Iβve had an issue with. Signed my son up for basketball never received a schedule mind you itβs less than a week away. Just paid $150 to do the membership and get him in basketball. Canceled and was told Iβd get the $75 back at least. I had a prior balance from 4/5 years ago at another location so they only refunded me back $31! Less than 2 weeks ago they were given $150 total for absolutely nothing. Was told one thing and they didnβt follow through. The communication at this place is laughable. From reading other reviews on youth sports Iβm so glad I pulled my son out and went with I9 sports! Much more organized and communication is there ! Would not recommend this Y to anyone looking for youth sports.

This has been the most frustrating volleyball session for my daughter. The schedules are not sent out in a timely manner and the new refs are terribly undertrained causing a lot of problems. They also refuse to lift the basketball hoops for vball games which makes it very hard for the kids to serve and play the whole court. Very disappointing!!!

My son played in the kids basketball league for one session. His coach was the best coach heβs ever had for a sport, and my son really enjoyed his team. However, many games were rescheduled, refs showed up late, the championship games were rescheduled three times in less than 24 hours and the location was changed three times as well with the last changes occurring the day of with less than an hour notice. Some games were played in Ferguson, others at St. Charles HS, quite the difference in distance when games are changed last minute. The league was affordable but the disorganization made it difficult.

Two things. 1. Why is there always a band aid in the pool? π 2. Why do people get in the pool just to talk. Wish the lifeguards would enforce lane policy a bit more. I've seen a bunch of folks have to swim in the wading area because some folks are gabbing it up in the lanes. Frustrating when you just wanna get some laps in during lunch.

I just want to say how much I appreciate the personnel the pool and the guards(especially Danielle). I guess I didn't realize how awesome you all are until I had a less than satisfactory pool experience at another Y in the area today. Poor maintenance on the equipment, plus some old folks with poop stains on their pants using the machines, totally disgusting. Management should reinforce the clean up of the machines after using, it's gross sitting on other people sweat even after i clean it before I use it. This place used to be a great place, not anymore. The steam room and the whirlpool can use a good deep cleaning. And some people going into the pool without taking a shower.
I'm thinking going somewhere else and cancel my membership, it's really uncomfortable going inside a pool with a bunch of people who doesn't take a shower before entering, very disappointed.

Hello. I have been waiting for the Silver Sneakers program offered through my health insur provider to get enrolled. I am now 65 yrs old and I have RA with fibromyalgia. I live in an apt and I don't have access to a swimming pool. Although I did get a chance to walk around in a pool at a friend's house a couple weeks ago. When I woke up the next morning I had absolutely no pain. I cried because I have not been pain free for more than 10 yrs. Going to the YMCA has been a dream of mine for so long and it's finally gonna happen. I'm so thankful and blessed to have a YMCA within 5 mins from where I live. I took a tour of the place last winter. Ashley ( I hope I got her name right) was very kind. The place was extremely clean. I know that I am gonna love it. The new improved Vick. Doing this for myself is going to help me physically and mentally. And I believe that in the future when I'm hanging out with my family and friends that we're all going to enjoy ourselves and the time spent together much better. When I'm in sereve pain I start acting hateful and evil. I don't like myself so I'm sure others don't care to be around me either. My hopes are to get my life back and I know that the YMCA is going to help me achieve this goal. My new insurance doesn't start until the first of August 2024. I will post something again letting others, who also suffer from chronic pain, know how well the YMCA worked out for me. Keeping positive along with keeping my faith, this is going to great. Thanks to the YMCA

Only location that apparently doesnβt do daily admission anymore. Me my finance and dad all met up here with my sister to workout because I was quoted a price for a day pass. The only one that doesnβt have a membership is my sister because she is rarely able to go so we were going to buy her a day pass like weβve always have. But the girl at the front desk said this location doesnβt do that anymore and said she had to get a membership or she couldnβt come in after my dad drove 30 minutes to meet us there. Refused to try and work anything out with us!!

We have done baseball for multiple years in a row and soccer when the kids were younger (1-3 grades) at the Saint Charles YMCA and it continues to be run more and more poorly. The disarray that is the YMCA organization's youth sports programs (maybe not all, but definitely baseball and soccer) is bad enough that I believe my son has been turned off by organized sports in general.
Just a couple of highlights from our experiences: 5/20/24: I reached out to the Y since signups had closed weeks ago, assuming there might be some info or an email I missed. Sports Director (or some other title?) Trey Rybecki responded and stayed me was still trying to get some teams and that he would send info out the next day, he did not.
5/31/24, still don't know what team we're on, our schedule, is there a league or not? League is supposed to start this weekend or next. Sent another email and Trey Rybecki responded that he sent an email and i should have gotten one. CRAZY! I get EVERY marketing email, but the ONLY email I actually NEEDED to get, I didn't.
Last year, the umps we had all year showed up to the first game and proclaimed "I've never been an ump before, they just told me to come here and ump baseball, I've never played baseball, and I don't watch baseball". The coaches of the teams literally taught them more about baseball than the ymca did, they didn't know basic rules about baseball. This is just a sampling. They change sports directors almost every year. Their own counselors and volunteers complain about how poorly run they are.
I hate to negatively review an organization that attempts to positively impact their community, but with programs run this poorly, it has the opposite effect of turning kids AWAY from organized sports because they associate the YMCA with "organized". They are far from any definition of organized. Furthermore, they have so far claimed to have given me a refund, but have not. So, now they're taking funds from our family earmarked for children's summer activities and just keeping it for themselves and refusing to ACTUALLY refund the money. Again, good Ole Trey Rybecki claiming to have refunded the money, but didn't. Seriously a sad state of affairs at the Saint Charles YMCA.

First off, everyone I've interacted with at this location were great. The building is older but kept up well and is very clean. They have a good selection of workout machines, a nice walk/run track and a sauna/whirlpool combo is awesome!
The only problem I've had was when I needed to cancel my membership. I was out of town so around the 15th I called in but was told I must cancel in person. A bit of a hassle but it didn't seem like a big deal. A few days later I came by "in person" but was told because I hadn't canceled by the 20th of the month I'd be charged for the next month also.
I explained that I had called in earlier but was told tough luck. Rules are rules. Not allowing any leniency for the "cancel in person" policy and the "cancel by the 20th" rule is NOT military or any other person must that travel for their job, friendly.
I give this location 5stars for the staff and location and 1star for the draconian rules that cannot be adapted by situation. You got my extra $80 this time but I'll think twice before giving you another dime.

I would not recommend your smaller sized children to participate in this place with out your supervision! Me and my family took a trip too the ST.LOUIS ZOO, while we were there there was a group of toddler size children with 2 staff members (from the YMCA) one of the toddlers decided he wasnβt having the zoo that day and did normal toddler things throw a fit the lady that was working with the kids was very rude too this child grabbing him using actual force on this child and I wish I knew the parents so I could have told them about this poor child. She wasnβt super mean but she was very unpleasant they were very rude with any comment toward the children! Not to mention they have the children on a rope (made for kids) by their arms walking WAY too fast too weβre the kids were tripping over each other! I couldnβt help but star the entire time because I was worried about that childβs safety and still wonder if he ended up okay! Just saying for the small amount of time that I seen these staff members with children I could never imagine putting my child through such s stressful environment!

Agree with posts that indicated poorly maintained facility and equipment, very rude and inconsiderate 'managers' and some 'worker bees'. Bad app. 'Scheduling' is sadly funny (??).
No effictive planning or communications !!
Policies and rules are randomly enforced. Someone posted about noise of dropping weights, Cell phone use, etc... There are rules/policies against those and other annoying/detrimental actions. Not enforced, but some other rules/policies are enforced (????).
ALWAYS have hand out and pressuring everyone (members, past members, visitors, guest employees, etc..for donations (directly and indirectly) !!!
Don't provide towels anymore. They tell you about new equipment, classes, etc.. BS
DO NOT GO TO THE ST PETERS Y, at least until there are new 'managers' with new/better rules and policies, or at least fairly enforces ALL rules/policies evenly. NOT, let friends, etc get away with 'stuff' and others are penalized (sometimes falsely !!)
DO NOT GO TO THE ST PETERS Y

I have registered membership in ymca St Charles. I had sign up simming classes for my 2 boys. But my kids positive test covid and sick, so they canβt go to arrive simming class. However befor I try find cancel these class, but online they donβt have any chooses we cancel. After that my husband have go to ycma talk with somebody and they told canβt cancel, not refund. And they will sent we credit card only use ymca st Chalrt canβt use any ymca different place. After some week we moving another the state. They charge me a lot money $106 for 1 class 7y, $60 for 1 class 5y. And fee membership 1 month $75. Meanwhile we not yet use service at here, not yet come to class study anything, not yet come to use any service, just sign up online only. I think itβs too bad. I think if you buy something we can return buy another things. If service too bad they can refund for me. But I never think itβs too bad. Now I until not yet receive credit card or something. And I canceled membership at here. I hope they donβt charge me next month. I never use ymca again.

I use SilverSneakers fitness programs Monday through Friday every week. Each instructor varies the workouts and make it fun to exercise. I recently rejoined theY after being away for about 5 years. I wanted to give 3 cheers for both the jobs that Andrew (member services) and the lifeguards do every day. Andrew is so engaged, friendly and seems to be everywhere working to make things better for the members. The young men who serve as lifeguards and swim instructors impress me so much with their friendliness and their focus on their jobs. I love watching them interact on Sunday afternoon with the children that they are teaching to swim; they seem to make it instructional and fun for the kids and they really seem to be enjoying themselves. They also do a nice job interacting with the morning swimmers.
I have two opportunities for improvement. The first is for the managers to stop coming out on the pool deck in high heels. I cringe every time I see it because the deck is slippery and I think there's a rule about not wearing street shoes. The other is for the managers to stop walking and texting. It's not only unfriendly and non-engaging, it's a safety issue. People shouldn't have to dart around the aisle to avoid getting run into. Make eye contact and say hello instead. As you can see, safety is a big deal to me.
Other than that, I think the place is great.

I attended a basketball game here. No chairs were provided and I was with my elderly in-laws, one of whom has had multiple knee surgeries. When I asked about getting chairs for them, they refused and said it was because of COVID, which makes very little sense, as no other COVID mitigation strategies were employed. The staff was maskless and sat close together. The kids played maskless and sat next to each other, and maskless parents sat on the floor next to each other and close together in lawn chairs theyβd brought in after noticing the lack of seating accommodations. I donβt expect a community Y to be so insensitive to the needs of those with physical disabilities. Additionally, other things took place during the game that caused me to believe that there is a general lack of courtesy and customer service at this particular Y. Even the St. Charles Branch team demonstrated poor sportsmanship by walking off the court after they lost. Usually, the kids line up and all tell one another βgood game.β Not here! I hope I never have to return.

3 stars for the staff. -2 stars for the poor policies and inconveniences they put members through.
I joined this gym specifically because they had a basketball court(a very nice one at that). I've been let down 4 or more times since joining the place a couple weeks ago, just trying to use what I'm paying for, the basketball courts. Not allowing me to use the basketball court during facility hours. What kind of asinine policy is this??
Why have basketball courts if you're not going to allow your members to use the basketball facilities DURING YMCA HOURS? Super disappointing to come here time and again to find out I'm not allowed to use the basketball courts when there are no events or groups utilizing the space. Do not waste your money if you want consistent use of facilities.
At one point they told me I wasn't allowed to use the basketball pump! No reason given, just that the manager told the kind girl at the front desk not to let anyone use it. The front desk girl said SHE wasn't even allowed to use it to pump up my flat basketball. Christ people really? You're gonna withhold the basketball courts AND the pump for no reason? Nice policy making YMCA. Way to foster community and sharing by withholding services lol.
Sign up at St. Peter's Rec Plex people. I guarantee they let you use the basketball courts. Probably allow you to use the air pump too. SMH.

My family and I love coming to the Y; there is something for everyone to do. Andrew is very knowledgeable and passionate about the Y. He was very helpful during our first few visits. Overall, this Y continues to exceed our expectations.

Was welcomed with smiling faces, and walked through every step as I signed up. Andrew was amazing, full of knowledge and made sure all my questions were answered.

We have a lot of great memories at the St. Charles County YMCA! I played t-ball and soccer there when I was little. My daughter really enjoyed the summer camps. I still volunteer there to give back.

I've been going to the Y since I was a kid. There's so much to do there! From swim lessons to youth sports to spin classes to saunas, the Y is a staple in the community.

I've been a long time member, been coming here for years. You can bring in all the new equipment you want but if you don't maintenance it and you don't reinforce proper use, it doesn't do any good. And that's just the equipment. Why post signs all over asking the wannabe beef heads not to slam the weights if you're not going to reinforce not letting them do it? It's EXCESSIVE. Then you have the people who are obnoxious just be obnoxious; watching tv out loud with no headphones, using multiple pieces of equipment (3+) and giving you the evil eye if you should butt in (if not coming to you and thinking they're going to scare you out of it because they're a big man and you're a comparatively small woman). Like I am not kidding when I say I had to abandon my workout today. It's gotten to the point where this went from being my refuge where I could feel better if I was having a bad day because I could get a good workout in to the point where I don't even want to come here anymore. And that's not even getting into the fact that about half the staff is rude AF, although that didn't really start with me personally until after one of the staff asked me out and then he stood me up so I turned him down when he asked me a second time, but maybe it's just a coincidence. I mean to be fair they don't have half the original staff they started out with when I first started coming here. I guess I can look at it this way, I graduate in a few months and I can either have a private gym at home (absolutely worth the cost in my opinion)or afford to go someplace else that's a little bit nicer.

I was a long time member until recently. The prices kept going up, quality of classes and facility going down. Other YMCAs are much nicer . The st.charles Y is getting run down. they have lost good staff and not replaced. I am looking elsewhere to workout.

Do not take your kids to the YMCA camp.! They staff will lie about something your child did just to get the child out of the camp. They mix different age groups together when they should be separated. They let kids touch other kids and the counselors let kids kiss them on their faces without telling the kids that it's not appropriate then lie to the director stating that they did tell the child that it's not appropriate . They keep these kids outside when it's a million degrees . They have 14 year olds watching these kids. I sure hope your child doesn't have a disibillity either.
