St. Louis Strength Academy is a standout fitness studio and that’s entirely due to Nathan Williams’ expertise and high standards. He understands the intersections of holistic health, injury recovery, and strength training. As a woman, I especially appreciate that he actively keeps up with current research on female physiology. Most trainers don’t, and it shows.
Nathan also helped me unlearn poor form that a previous trainer overlooked and could’ve led to injury if left uncorrected. That alone speaks volumes about the level of care and attention he brings to every session.
His workouts are efficient, focused, and entirely fluff-free. If you’re looking for smart, evidence-based training in a space that respects your time and your body, you won’t find better than this.

Nathan is an excellent trainer! He helped me develop a personalized workout plan tailored to my goals. He’s motivating, supportive, and really pushes me to be my best. The facility is spotless and has everything you need to succeed. I highly recommend trying the cold plunge—it’s top of the line and unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. It’s the perfect way to kickstart your workout and get your adrenaline pumping!

As an older woman, finding a gym where I feel comfortable supported and not out of place was so important and Nathan Williams’ gym delivered exactly that. Nathan truly meets you where you’re at, no matter your age or fitness level. He takes the time to understand your goals and limitations and creates a plan that feels empowering, not overwhelming. The environment is welcoming, encouraging, and free of ego. Plus the sauna is an incredible way to relax and recover.. easily the best in St. Louis.

Hands down the best gym in St. Louis! Nathan Williams is not only an incredible personal trainer and owner, but also creates an environment that motivates you to push your limits and actually enjoy working out. The facility is top-notch, and the cold plunge is seriously the best in the city — the perfect way to recover and recharge. If you’re looking for results and a community that feels like family, this is the place.

St. Louis Strength Academy is excellent. I’ve been training with Nathan Williams for nearly 14 years. I’m stronger and more physically fit in my 60’s than I was in my 20’s. The environment and his way of training makes me feel like an athlete!

I started going to St. Louis Strength because I don't just want to combat the loss of muscle that comes with age, I want to build it. I’m almost 3 months in and i definitely feel stronger. I realized I don’t push myself enough when lifting weights on my own. It’s been a surprise to me how effective Nathan’s work outs are in such a short time. You don’t have to figure out how much to lift or what to do next. He does it all for you so that it’s tailored to push you but not kill you, unless it’s the ropes. Those kill you. (Right, Nathan? Haha. JK.) Added bonus: Nathan’s a professional who’s just a really likable, nice guy and good human.

Tell Nate your goals and he will help you to the finish line. He is very knowledgeable about gaining strength and makes the process of learning simple but the workouts challenging. Best in St. Louis!

Nathan is an incredible trainer. Great accommodations here as well. Take an ice plunge or get a massage when you’re not getting in a great workout. Best in St Louis!

I’ve been seeing Nathan for a little over a year and he is awesome! So kind and knowledgeable. He pushes you to do more but never at the risk of overdoing it. When I sprained my ankle a few months back, he would alternate slow stretches for my ankle and upper body work to keep me active. 10/10 would recommend to anyone looking for personal training in STL!

I’ve been coming here for over 4 years now. Nathan is awesome & you can’t go wrong choosing to workout here. He’ll listen to what your goals are, push you, correct your form when needed, & just a great guy in general. You won’t regret choosing to workout here.

Went to Nathan for some help after herniating two discs and being unable to do any lower body work for about a year and a half. Nathan helped me to fix my form that was causing my back issues as well as to establish a base of strength again. Great guy and very knowledgeable

First, I’ll tell you a little about myself, so you understand why I think St. Louis Strength Academy and Nate Williams are worth your time and money. Like most women, I have been battling my weight for a long time. During the last few years, I’ve been losing that battle. I’ve put on SEVERAL pounds and was diagnosed with high blood pressure. With my family history of heart disease I knew I had to do something. So, I found St. Louis Strength and starting training with Nate.
Nate is amazing. He coaches with what I call “ultimate Dad vibes”. He is kind, knowledgeable and believes in you when you don’t believe in yourself. Nate designs the workout to fit your goals and fitness levels. This level of personalization has helped me lose 12 lbs. (so far), dropped my blood pressure, and I no longer have chest pains. The most impressive part? I look forward to workouts and I’m trying to find more ways to be active in my daily life.
I HIGHLY recommend Nate. No matter where you are on your fitness journey–whether you’re an athlete trying to improve your game or an office worker that has been to one too many happy hours, Nate is the guy that will help you meet your goals and you’ll have fun doing it!

Nathan is a detail oriented and precise coach. He’ll of course get you smaller/bigger, stronger, more explosive, more athletic but more importantly he’ll have you doing it correctly. This gives anyone the right foundation for any lift so you can make leaps and bounds in your athleticism as well as having longevity to be able to do it with minimal risk of injury. Not to mention that he’s just a great guy. Loved it when I was there and I learned a lot.

Over the past 10 months Nate has really pushed me. I have exercise-induced asthma which obviously can create a serious problem when working out. Nate has been patient and truly understanding of my health and at the same time he has helped me to get stronger week after week!

I started training with Nate two years ago. My goal then was simply to get stronger. With his expert instruction, not only have I become stronger, I've developed a passion for powerlifting. I have no doubt that he'll help me crush any and all new goals. Great trainer, great gym!

I started training with Nathan Williams at St. Louis Strength Academy because I wanted to learn Olympic weightlifting. St. Louis Strength Academy offers other types of training too and I've met many of his others clients who are really happy with their training to get in shape, to improve their sports performance, or to ready for their next powerlifting competition.
When I started at St. Louis Strength Academy, I didn't know anything about Olympic weightlifting. From the beginning, Nathan has patiently worked with me to improve my form and strength. At first, I lacked the flexibility and some strength to even properly execute the lifts. Through his coaching I've managed to gain the flexibility, strength, and confidence that I needed to compete for the first time recently. I've also noticed that training here has helped reduced my overall stress. Plus, at 33 I've never been in better shape. I'm honestly very grateful to have been able to learn from such qualified individuals.

Nathan Williams, owner of St. Louis Strength Academy, is the best trainer/coach I have ever had. I started going to him almost two years ago! His knowledge about strength and conditioning cannot be matched. He is so incredibly passionate about what he does. I recently participated in a Powerlifting competition and I took first place because of him! He is the first person I recommend to everyone when people ask me what I do to have such a taut physique. I used to run marathons and half marathons and never had the body I have today! I will always go to St. Louis Strength Academy for my training.

I started working out with Nathan about a year ago. I was so nervous about my first appointment since I knew I was in awful shape ( like had to hide my heavy breathing after half a flight of stairs) I knew I needed motivation, encouragement, and most importantly someone who wouldn't judge me for the bad shape I was in. I found all that and more here. Nathan is so encouraging and really takes you where your at, helping you to improve quickly. I think he believed more in me than I did that first session! I have become addicted to how strong I am getting and have even begun training for a powerlifting competition! Something I definitely never thought I could do! He is truly the best. Knowledgeable, patient, encouraging; I cannot recommend him enough especially if you are just starting your health journey. You won't find anyone more willing to teach you who truly wants to see you succeed! Can't wait to see how far I can go with Nate as my coach!

One of the things I love about Nathan, is he is strict on form. He makes sure you are doing all the lifts properly no matter what weight is on the bar. He designs sessions around what else you have worked on that week as well as how your body is feeling that day which is important to me. He has helped me with the mental aspects of Olympic Lifting as well as nutrition. He truly cares about helping you meet your strength goals and more importantly he delivers. I am stronger than ever before. Looking forward to smashing new goals with him in the very near future.

What an experience! To start, the facilities are awesome! This gym is for people who truly want to work out and become the best they can be. There are no mirrors, no distractions, no TVs and no lack of motivation! Aside from the gym itself, Nathan is a world class strength professional. The knowledge he has about strength training and the way he presents it is not only practical but highly motivating. He is very proficient in weight loss, body building, Olympic weight lifting and his main area of expertise, the training of athletes. I highly recommend STL Strength Academy to anyone who is serious about maximizing their potential in both their physical and mental capabilities!
