I use The Boxing Gym through my class pass. Karen is an amazing instructor. She pushes you and helps you develop fundamental kickboxing skills. I have lost 25lbs in 4 months since joining this class. I’m hooked!!!🙌🏽

Been going to this gym consistently every Monday or Saturday for the cardio kickboxing and.. I love it! Was initially hesitant and a little apprehensive about it. But eventually I love it!

Jim is a fantastic coach, very chill, patient, and will assess your capabilities and push you appropriately. I do have background in martial arts, so when he sees that he can push me harder, he cranked up the difficulty a notch to make sure I’m not slouching.

They do have 2 big dogs roaming around in the gym. Was at first afraid of them. But they eventually warmed up to me as well.

I started going to classes consistently a few years ago and fell in love with kickboxing! I just started up again and fell in love all over again! It's such a great workout and has become my favorite form of cardio. The instructors are all super knowledgeable and the facility is fully stocked with equipment. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking to get in shape and feel like a badass in the process!

My first class was 45 minutes of which I think maybe 30 of it was solid boxing. The rest was me trying to catch my breath, (and a little bit of warmup and squats and sit ups.) I really LOVED it. If you're a woman, don't be scared. If you're a guy, don't worry, it'll kill you too. It's all up to you.

I came to the gym looking for a way to keep training kickboxing, I recently moved to the city and I found this place through amazing reviews on Google. The reviews were spot on, I tried a class and it was great, the gym is fully equipped, everybody at the class had plenty of space and what an intense workout it was! There are different levels of training, cardio, fitness, Intermediate and combat, and many classes and gym memberships to choose from. I would definetely recommend this place, i'm going back next week (I would give 6 stars because there are two adorable boxers at the gym, but don't worry they are super chill and don't bother anyone, they'll only approach you if you offer pets 🤗)

I wish I had a positive experience like most of the reviews listed here. First off, I booked a 30 minute personal training boxing session and I will say I appreciate the extra 10-20 minutes that Oscar took with me to try to fix my form.

However, I felt that there was a huge language barrier, since he speaks mostly Spanish. When he was trying to teach me, I brought these concerns to his attention and politely suggested a different approach. He talked to me as if it was my fault for not understanding him. Very unprofessional.

Also, I keep being harassed to sign up for a membership when I’ve told them I’m not interested. If you’re looking for cheap personal training sessions, I would recommend. Otherwise, if you want to be treated with respect and get your money’s worth, look elsewhere.

Went here on a lark when we had a girl's reunion trip and rented a house nearby. One of the girls saw this in the strip mall and I had a lot of attitude about it before we took our first class because of the location. I was WAY wrong. It was awesome. We did a group kick boxing class and our instructor was lovely (I forget her name, sadly) and we had a really fun time. The music was great and Jim (owner) helped us wrap our wrists. I came back the next day and asked if I could do the 7 day pass, retroactively. He said, "absolutely" and made that happen for me. I was really floored at his generosity and awareness. He's a small business owner and could have been strict about that, but was kind, instead knowing we didn't live in the area. Also, he didn't ask me to write this review, I asked on my last day if Google reviews help him and he said, "Yes, they help a lot. Thank you." The facilities are stacked with what you need and the instructors (I took from 3 different ones) were all knowledgable and cared about form/fitness. It was a pleasure. Also, the owner has 2 boxer dogs that are ADORABLE and give you kisses when you're sweating. So, if you don't like kisses and cuddles from fur babies - you are not a well person and this isn't the gym for you! Whenever I come back to STL, I'll for sure stop in for a class. Support local businesses!

Been a member for a year now and honestly best health I have ever been in, I give credit to the boxing gym. I went to one class because I heard about kickboxing before, and I am so glad this was the gym I walked in to. Every trainer I work with obviously loves working there, and every member loves being a part of it. They meet you where you're at; you can go as hard as you want during class & learn technique, or just use it as a cardio session. At the end of class, I usually can't wait for my next one. I highly recommend Nicki, Jim & Trent, but honestly have loved classes with everyone.

Couldn’t ask for a better gym experience. The workouts are fun and challenging with lots of variety in the class offerings. The trainers are encouraging, motivating, and safety-conscious (super important, especially when it comes to weightlifting). As an added bonus, there are two adorable and friendly dogs always looking for pets after class is over. Coming to this gym has been extremely important for my mental and physical health for several years now, and I can’t recommend this place enough.

I’ve been a loyal member since moving to the STL area about four years ago and I refuse to find a different gym. The staff is welcoming, knowledgeable, and patient. Every class is challenging and fun. They are always willing to answer any fitness question and assist you with your health journey, if needed. There are a variety of classes from basic to intermediate/advanced boxing, and strength training. All fitness levels are welcome.

Editing to say that I LOVE the Boxing Gym. I've been going to The Boxing Gym since 2017. The variety of classes and instructors, at different times of day, means I can get the workout I need even when I have a busy schedule. Each instructor has different music and a different style so I can change it up anytime! The bootcamps are especially challenging, and I love that I can modify them however I need if my knees are sore that day. They’ve added a lot of weightlifting and cardio classes without boxing, including on Sundays. The instructors have all been around for YEARS so it feels like a family welcoming me whenever I go. I switch around between classes with Stephanie, Jim, or Trent, and I recently went to a class with Karen and had a great workout! The owner Jim has two adorable dogs who hang out all the time, and they love getting pet. They’re literally the sweetest most gentle pups, so it’s so relaxing to visit the gym. It's conveniently located next to Schnucks so I often go to the store afterward. I LOVE this gym and the instructors, and they keep people coming back for years!

Whoever BOI is a Asian man is extremely rude ! I walked in to sign up for a few classes and the owners dog charged at me while growling and barking. Boi told me if I don’t like dogs I shouldn’t come there & he had a snappy attitude like this isn’t a place is business and I’m sure it’s not professional to have dogs in a business no matter who’s dogs they are. So if you don’t wanna get bite or attacked find another gym.

Trained here for a few months during an internship in the city a couple years back. Amazing experience, phenomenal Muay Thai coaching, and a terrific workout. This is a great place for a good boxing/cardio workout. The staff and instructors are very kind and knowledgeable. I participated in a session that absolutely challenged me. I have been a member at the gym since Sept 2017. I LOVE this gym. The classes are difficult and fast paced but always fun. The instructors are all very different and there isn't one I don't like. I've only been going for a few months but I have been loving The Boxing Gym. For the first time, I actually look forward to my works outs and don't see them as something I "should" be doing. Each class is tough but I love that the routine varies. All the instructors are friendly and welcoming. I've checked out quite a few gyms since I moved to St. Louis and this is the first place that has made me feel at home. In the short time that I have been going, I already feel stronger and see myself improving from class to class.

LOVE this place. I've been going for approximately 2 months now. The instructors and the people there are really friendly and down to earth, welcoming from the start to everyone who comes in.

And they work hard.

If you’re looking for a gym experience like no other, than the boxing-gym is for you! Here, you’ll find incredible classes that push you to your very limits, and then ask you to go one step farther. The fitness experts here are passionate about what they do and they teach their classes and train their clients with the kind of personal touch you would expect from a boutique gym, without the boutique price tag. Walking into the gym, is like walking into your home away from home. Everyone from the staff to the clients will quickly learn your name. That feeling of intimidation or uncertainty that often comes when joining a gym, will quickly be replaced with a feeling of belonging and family. From your first class, you will never have felt more challenged or had as much fun!

I have mixed feelings about this place. I wanted to try it out because I have heard so much about how kickboxing is such a great work out. A friend and I decided to purchase groupons and give it a try. Our first class was with a guy name Anthony. He does the boxing class in the evening. My friend and I were 2 of 4 girls in the class, but I think the majority of the class is boys from ages 15-20. The class was fun. Anthony delivers a very hard workout, but I think this class is more for people interested in learning how to become actual boxers, instead of those wanting to do it for fitness. However, you will get a great workout in as well. I like it.
Next, I tried an evening class with a trainer named Rodell. I enjoyed it a lot also. Very good workout, good muisic, and more of the style my friend and I were looking for. However, I was a little weirded out by the Takwondo instructor, Mr. Sexton. He continously would come over and disturb people as they were working out. He just comes off a bit creapy to me.
Then, we decided to try a Saturday class. We took two classes that day. One instructor was David, who is also the owner of the gym. I was a bit surprised that he delivered a good class because he certainly doesn't look the part of a trainer. He is overweight and he hobbled around the gym like he had leg issues. Though his class was good, I'm just not sure I can put my health in the hands of someone who obviously cares little about their own. The other instructor was Danny. He had an okay class. A bit boring and slow. However, he and some lady in the class kind of got into a dispute and she left.
There is another guy name Ron who is a trainer there. Ron is very knowledgable when it comes to fitness. However, you can't ask Ron a simple question an expect a simple answer. He will go on and on, almost in an attempt to show you how much he knows. To call him arrognant would be an understatment.
As for the gym itself, it doesn't seem like its taking care of very well. Equipment is pretty old and worn down. There is no water fountain available, but there is a snack machine with soda and chips. Hmmm?... Over all there are better options out there. On Manchester alone you have Planet Fitness, Golds Gym in Manchester and Ellsville, Anytime Fitness, and I hear a Title Boxing Club is going in right down the street. I would look at these options before you come to this place.

This was my first Cardio Kickboxing class... There was a nice diverse crowd- age, gender, race, and experience. Everyone was down to Earth and welcoming. I talked to one girl who had been there a few times and liked it, another who has been going for a month, and another who has been there 6+ months... We all agree that it is WAY better than anything you could/would do on your own... it's fun and challenging and you can go at your own pace- I could feel my whole body working. As with any exercise routine- you'll get what you put into it. Awesome experience!
