If you believe that the best investment you can make is in your own health, then the LAB is the place for you! After only three months I’ve noticed huge improvements in my physical and mental health. I have never felt this genuinely strong and it’s such an empowering feeling. Not only that, but I wake up excited to go to the gym because they somehow have managed to make the programming and environment fun.
There is a huge support system here, from the coaches to the members, everyone wants to see you succeed. Coach Vladimir helped me learn the movements and continues to check in with tips and pointers. Coach Drew makes even the most difficult lift or cardio session enjoyable and is always so kind in answering my questions. Tami and Chris will always be there to support you and help you reach your goals.
The LAB isn’t like any other gym I’ve been to- it’s welcoming, inclusive, and they make it so easy to reach your goals! I’m so glad I made the decision to join!!

If you’re looking for a gym where you can lift heavy, laugh hard, and leave feeling like an absolute powerhouse—The LAB is it.
As a woman, finding a gym where you feel safe, comfortable, and actually excited to show up is rare. But somehow, The LAB cracked the code. The coaches are incredibly supportive, the vibes are high, and no one is judging you if you accidentally make a weird noise during a deadlift (ask me how I know).
Everyone here genuinely wants to see you win—whether that’s hitting a PR, staying consistent, or just showing up on a day when life is lifing. I’ve never been this consistent with a program or felt this confident walking into a gym. It’s not just about fitness—it’s about feeling strong in every sense of the word.
10/10 would recommend.

Last August, I did something I never thought I’d do—I started working out consistently. And not just anywhere, but at The L.A.B. Gym. As someone who never really felt comfortable in typical gym spaces, I can honestly say The L.A.B. changed that for me.
What I love most is that it’s straightforward. No fluff, no chaos—just a clean, focused space where people show up to put in the work. The gym is smaller than the big-name places, but that’s part of the charm. It feels intentional, not overwhelming.
But what really makes The L.A.B. stand out is the staff. They’re not just friendly—they’re deeply knowledgeable. Every trainer has a master’s degree in sports physiology or something similar, and you can tell. They’re not just shouting reps at you—they actually know how bodies work and care about helping you move better and feel stronger.
And for me, something that matters just as much is the environment. I’m a gay man, and walking into a gym can sometimes come with a sense of caution. That’s never been the case here. The L.A.B. is one of the most inclusive, welcoming places I’ve ever trained. People of all races, body types, backgrounds, and identities are not just accepted—they’re supported.
It’s rare to find a gym that makes you feel seen and challenged. I’ve gotten stronger here, yes—but I’ve also found a place where I feel like I belong. And that’s worth everything.
Sincerely,
James Johnson

I had been looking for a gym for a while and am so happy to have found LAB. Jorge is the best trainer I could ask for, and all the staff truly care about seeing you make progress. I think it’s a great value for the money for what I found shopping around the area over several months. The people that join this gym are also amazing and friendly, and I always look forward to coming and seeing a familiar face. And the best part: no more waiting around for squat racks like many of the box gyms in the area! Equipment is always available, and other members are kind and respectful of each other’s time. Thank you, LAB!!

I love the L.A.B. – yes, I’ve lost weight and gained muscle. But more importantly than that, I love the community. I feel so supported, and I can always count on someone answering all of my millions of questions about fitness and nutrition. The people there are so kind and welcoming. You can find trainers anywhere. Community and genuine support, however, are much harder to come by.
Reasonably priced for the top-tier quality training and equipment, convenient central location, cool atmosphere. Can’t recommend it enough.

I was looking for a gym just like this close to my house and struck gold! I worked with Vlad for the introductory sessions and he was very knowledgeable and encouraging. Chris and Tami are so helpful and kind. My favorite thing about the gym? The variety of ages- all are welcome to get stronger!

Join this place if you want nothing but spam in your mailbox. They don't give an option to unsubscribe from their junk mail and they leave you no way of getting in touch with them. If this is how they want to conduct business, you might as well apply to local call center. So much for customer service and honest business practices.

Highly recommend this gym to people at all fitness levels! It’s an incredible environment and the coaches are experts in what they do. They support you in achieving your goals in a technically correct and safe manner (shout out to Kelsey!). You don’t need to know what you’re doing going in - It’s a great place to learn. I wasn’t sure that I’d be able to find a gym where I felt comfortable working out and I feel incredibly grateful to have found the L.A.B.

I have been a member of The L.A.B. Gym for a little over a year, and it has very positively changed my life. I was a little bit apprehensive before I came in for the initial consultation, but I'm glad I took that small leap.
During my first personal training session, I was so out of shape that I was only able to finish about half of the scheduled one hour workout. I kept coming back, working with my coaches (shout out to Kelsey and Drew!), and doing the best I could each day. Over time I got stronger and healthier, and my coaches encouraged me to try competing in a powerlifting meet. When I started at The L.A.B., I had no idea that entering a powerlifting competition was something that I could even do. I took another small leap, found that I really enjoy it, and recently competed in my second meet -- it is so much fun!
What Chris and his team have created with The L.A.B. is truly special.
The gym is clean, the equipment is plentiful and well-maintained, and they offer personal training, cardio classes, cross-training, powerlifting, and olympic weightlifting.
The coaches are fantastic. They are friendly; experts with advanced degrees in kinesiology, exercise science, and related fields; and they want you to succeed in your fitness goals. They keep a close watch to make sure you are performing your exercises correctly, including adjusting to any injuries or limitations you might have, and to help you stay on track with your goals. I could not have made the progress I've made in the last year without them.
The gym members are a diverse group of people in every decade of life, from mid-teens through mid-70's, including people brand new to exercising as well as some of the top competitive powerlifters in the state of Missouri -- state, national, and world record holders. And they are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Everybody works together, helps each other, and encourages each other. It's a really nice "gym family", and I look forward to seeing everybody each day when I come to the gym.
Whether you've never been to a gym before and want to take the first step on your fitness journey, or you're an experienced, competitive powerlifter or olympic weightlifter, I can't think of a better place to be.

I wanted a personal trainer to push me, correct any form errors I might have, and get me over this plateau I was in, and Vladimir Brusov is kicking my butt. As someone who has been in the gym for years, I’ve never sweat this hard and I’ve never come home this sore. The way he’s structured my workout routine is nothing I’ve ever done. As I’m wrapping up week 2, we are already seeing gains. I highly recommend Vladimir. Great trainer, very knowledgeable, and very friendly.
I also love this gym. It’s a classic body building gym. Old school equipment, with old school plates, clean, with a friendly-homey atmosphere. The staff are excellent and know you by your first name. The little things like that make the gym a place you’re happy to go to. The owner, Chris, awesome guy - knowledgeable and friendly. Tami, an amazing woman who always greets you with a smile and a cheerfulness energy. I really like this gym. Coming from other gyms around the local St. Louis area, this is my favorite hands down.

Amazing gym. This is not your standard gym where you pay a membership and just show up and exercise. Everyone who enters this gym gets a personal experience. Even if you are not participating in the one-on-one training you will be exposed to highly-experienced trainers. Joining this gym is more like joining a team.
Trainers are exceptional. Well trained, hard working and highly-personable. All are incredibly easy to talk to and open to any questions you might have.
Overall, this has been the best gym experience I have had. And its not even close. Don't questions it, just join if you are serious about increasing your fitness levels in a fantasist environment.

Great gym with knowledgeable trainers, I really appreciate that their approach is to ensure you're using the right form before jumping up the weight, it'll help long term training health. I like the personal touch, I think it's going to help me achieve my goals.
6 month update: I'm up 7lbs of muscle and down 3% body fat. I'm now using weights that I had not even considered as my working weights on the daily.

No matter who walks through the doors to train, at The LAB everyone is welcomed (and basically become part of the the LAB Family) . I started at The Lab Gym 6 years ago at age 59. I had the usual aging problems of arthritis in my neck, a repaired knee that wasn't very flexible or strong and not much energy. I was paired with a good personal trainer and we worked together 3 mornings a week. I was shown how to workout properly, increase my flexibility and stamina. Now, as I approach my 65th birthday, I can say without a doubt this was the best decision. I have a strong knee that allows me to climb stairs easily, step up onto a 16" retaining wall with confidence and kneel all with no pain. I am stronger than I have ever been and I feel amazing!
I love the client diversity, the quality of the trainers and the well-equipped gym. The owners have done a great job of making sure it is a first-class experience. I'm happy to say now age is just a number because strength makes you younger. Oh, and if you need a new toilet carried up a flight of stairs, I can do it!

Looking at gyms all over the St Louis area all week, this gym is easily top 3. Decently sized for the area and there are many areas available to work out so you wont be SoL when others work the same muscle groups as you.
Deadlift areas are huge for me and there are so many power lifting stations throughout, along with a great Crossfit program.

If you are going to this gym for CrossFit, I think that you will be good to go. However if you want to weight train, this isn’t the place to go. The weight lifting area is small and unorganized. It’s actually hard for me to get motivated to go because I know the headache that’s ahead. Old machines and the freeweights are scattered everywhere. The cardio equipment is cool and everyone there has always been super nice and accommodating. I really wanted this to be my gym, the location is super convenient. I’m probably going to terminate my membership and find a new spot.

If you're looking for Personal Training, DO NOT GO HERE! There slogan is false advertisement. Most of the trainers had little to NO training experience prior to starting at The Lab, do your research before putting your health in someones life. Degrees mean nothing when you don't have proper certifications or experience training people. Drop in at 5pm during peak hours and what you will see are a staff of "trainers", all regurgitating the same useless cues, with it written all over their faces that they'd rather be a million other places than training you! Also, several of them are in terrible shape and if someone can't take care of themselves physically, do you really trust them to guide your fitness/health journey?? I also know many clients who were injured using the terrible lifting form they teach here, and there's nothing you can do after you sign the waiver. The staff showed no empathy either. Do yourself a favor, your spine/shoulder health are far too valuable, STAY AWAY! Also, the trainers here train between 50-70 sessions a week, that's 10-12 per day and are payed very little per session. Do you really think someone can/wants to give you their best service after being on their feet all day or all week? This is not at all fair to clients!

Dropped in for a couple days over Thanksgiving holiday. These guys are the real deal! I follow my own program that includes aspects of olympic lifting, powerlifting, and CrossFit - these guys had all the tools and toys I needed, were super friendly, and let me go off and do my own thing for a very reasonable fee.
Only glowing things to say about the management and facilities. Also saw some very legitimate quality olympic lifters training while I was there, which is always an excellent sign.
