About the Club

The Movement Lab aims to bridge the gap between rehab and performance. Our Movement Specialists utilize the Functional Movement Screen to assess your movement characteristics and develop an individualized training program to exceed your fitness goals. All of our small group classes are physician directed to ensure a safe and effective training program catering to 5 foundational movement patterns (squat, lunge, push, pull, and carry).

I highly recommend the movement lab & its staff. They are great at assessing your needs & working with injuries to get you stronger. The classes are always changing & it’s a fun workout for all levels & ages. Going to Focus on health & the movement lab have reduced my back pain & I’m finally feeling my best. I’m grateful for The Movement Lab.

Amazing gym with amazing people. The exercises focus on functional movements, with the goal of not only increasing strength and endurance, but improving full mobility and range of motion. A rare find.

I cannot speak more highly of the movement lab! I have had the best experience with all the amazing instructors. Being a professional athlete it amazes me how the classes can cater towards people of all levels and abilities but are always challenging. The staff truly is phenomenal and cares about helping your body become stronger. They’re highly knowledgeable and always offer modifications. This level of coaching is rare and I recommend EVERYONE give it a try!!!!

I have loved utilizing the Movement Lab. Amy was so much fun to work out with. I am not a super-active person, and Amy was helpful to make modifications to meet me at my ability level (and always encourage me to do more!). Even on days when I might thing "ugh, working out!", those thoughts had always dissipated by the conclusion of my workout. I would highly recommend Amy and the Movement Lab!

I have been participating in Amy Hunt's strength training classes for the last five months. Amy cares about her clients and makes sure that they are comfortable with the strength training exercises she designs for them. She provides options with three difficulty levels so that the clients can pick the one appropriate for individual and customized needs. She observes minutely, pays attention to my posture and makes sure that I am doing the exercises correctly. She makes her classes enjoyable, full of fun and is always prepared to walk an extra mile. Her classes have helped me immensely and I can feel the positive differences in my health condition. I look forward to her classes every week.

Our 3 teenage boys have been going to the Movement Lab for over a year now. The exercises they do there are specifically designed to help them become stronger athletes. At the Movement Lab, they have learned the importance of mobility that will stay with them for the rest of their lives! Highly recommend!!

Let me start this by saying that I have been dealing with two herniated discs in my lower back for about the last 3 years, & I have tried everything from steroid injections to traction therapy for a few months & nothing seemed to work. I was even doing daily stretches & everything too to help ease the pain, but nothing has honestly brought me more relief than by visiting Focus on Health. I started going there towards the end of last year, & started off by mainly seeing Dr. Dakota for dry needling appointments & chiropractic adjustments. This alone brought me more relief than I’d ever had, but then after a couple months of that he suggested that I talk to Amy over in the Movement Lab. I took his advice & seriously I couldn’t be any happier that I did because this has been the type of therapy that I have literally been praying for! I’ve seen immense results in the months of continued therapy that I’ve had, & plan on continuing to go twice a week until my pain is over with, but even then I will be sure to continue to do her exercises weekly, just as I’m currently doing as I’m out of town awhile for work at the moment. All in all though, this is really a great place to seek care & they also have the most friendly/personable staff that you can find in Columbia!

I endured many grueling years with pain and a decrease in mobility in my core, hips, knees, back and neck. I finally had enough of the aging BS and decided to make a proactive attack on correcting my body.

Step 1: Stem cell treatment on both knees.
Step 2: Consistent focused treatment with Dr. Curt at Focus on Health
AND
Step 3: Consistent focused movement training with Amy Hunt.

After 8-months my pain has receded, and my movement range has greatly improved with an increase in strength in critical muscles.

Currently, I have reduced treatments with Dr. Curt and am focused on a more active lifestyle while continuing 2-days per week with Amy.
If you have decided to begin an adventure similar to my journey, I highly recommend that you included Amy Hunt at Movement RX. The results are badass!
