⭐️ Honest Review from a Long‑Term Member (2 Years)
I trained here consistently for about two years, and I feel a responsibility to share my experience.. especially for women considering joining.
This review is not from a place of bitterness, but from clarity and accountability. I showed up, supported, attended events, paid my membership even during breaks, bought merch, referred friends, and genuinely rooted for this gym to succeed. I believed in this place.
Over time, however, I witnessed behaviors that made me uncomfortable and ultimately led me to leave. These patterns took time to notice, but had I been warned, I would’ve taken my business elsewhere.
✅ Culture & Environment
There’s a subtle culture here built around ego, control, and superiority rather than growth and community (from owner: Mike Wood).
I noticed:
• Negative jokes toward other gyms, even when members trained elsewhere to improve
• Backhanded comments about life wins (trips, milestones, etc.)
• A “what have you done for me lately” attitude toward loyal members
• Passive‑aggressive behavior when someone took a break, even with communication
✅ Women’s Experience
Some interactions crossed professional boundaries by the owner. Comments about my body from Mike and suggestive messages were brushed off as “jokes.”
I initially brushed it off, but the pattern continued. When I created boundaries, the energy shifted. Support felt conditional on attention… not respect. Women deserve to train without wondering if kindness will be misread as interest (Mike Wood).
✅ Faith vs Behavior
The gym presents itself publicly as faith-based, yet I experienced mocking comments about my walk with God and degrading remarks about my engagement & marriage, from the same person publicly claiming faith, Mike Wood.
Faith isn’t a costume. Real leaders walk it, they don’t weaponize it.
✅ Race & Atmosphere
Everyone has political freedom. But wearing polarizing political gear in a gym filled with Black athletes..( paired with superiority-laced jokes and subtle microaggressions) created an unnecessary power dynamic (Mike Wood).
Leadership sets the tone. & culture matters, especially in boxing where trust and respect are everything.
✅ Emotional & Professional Boundaries
When I stayed focused on training, grew spiritually, and leveled up in life, the tone shifted.
I still wanted to stay for the price, the friendships, and another coach I respected there. But the emotional toll caused by the owner outweighed the benefit. I even initiated a respectful conversation, hoping for accountability. Instead, I was met with ego, deflection, and a lack of responsibility.
That told me everything I needed to know about the foundation here.
✅ For Women Considering This Gym
If you’re seeking:
• Professionalism
• Respect
• Growth without power games
• A place where your focus is taken seriously w/o flirtation & judgement from the owner
• A gym that values members, whether they take breaks or not… and healthy culture
Be mindful. Watch for energy shifts, the tone of jokes, and how women are treated once they stop entertaining the owner’s ego.
There’s a reason many women don’t stay long.
✅ Final Thought
I don’t regret training here. I grew, learned, and met good people. But the patterns became too clear to ignore. Boxing should build strength, not require women to tolerate boundary-crossing behavior or shrink to avoid backlash, and by no one else other that the owner.
This gym has potential. But leadership shapes culture… & culture determines safety and protection. You should be able to trust your trainer. I’m choosing environments rooted in growth, respect, and integrity.
I wish the gym success, and I hope this helps someone else make an informed decision.

From the moment you walk in, you feel the energy and passion that sets this gym apart. The coaches aren’t just skilled—they’re truly invested in helping everyone improve, no matter your level. The workouts are intense, but motivating, and you always leave feeling stronger and more confident.
The vibe here is friendly and welcoming. Whether you’re a beginner or have experience, everyone supports each other like family. The equipment is top-notch, the facility is super clean, and there’s a real sense of community.
What I love most is how every session pushes you to your limits, but in the best way possible. If you want to get fit, learn real boxing skills, and have fun at the same time—Too Good Boxing is the place to be!

I walked into Too Good having left my old gym where I had trained for a year and a half. I immediately felt welcomed. There was no judgement for wanting to get into amateur boxing this late in life. There were no disparaging remarks. Only, “Ok. You want to do this? Let’s get it done.” He coaches with respect and love for his clients. The atmosphere is one that a boxing gym should have: blood, sweat, and grace. Everyone is at the bag or at the mitts, or even on the weights or cardio machines working on their own craft, improving their own skills independently with guidance from Mike and Mike. Thankful for this place. Rock on, Too Good.

Mike is the real deal. This is not your typical gentrified neighborhood boxing-for-fitness, learn-nothing, lightly-disguised-as-boxing aerobics club. You will gain real skills here. Gyms and trainers like this are hard to find these days. If you are interested in real boxing, check this place out. When you step into Eagle Gym you're stepping into a piece of STL strongman history. A perfect setting for sharpening your fighting skills and mentality.
