Ascend is a Strength/Movement based training facility located in Bozeman, Montana and on our Personal Training App. Overall, we do things differently. You will learn how to increase joint range and strength, breath more effectively and move through a strength and conditioning program utilizing meticulous technique coaching.

I’m new to the gym, but cannot speak highly enough of Ben and Meredith. They are smart, extremely knowledgeable which is great. But what sets this gym apart is their attention to each person there. They work hard, yet seemingly casually (they are not casual at all, they are paying close attention ) to ensure that each of us are moving correctly, lifting correctly, pushing ourselves in a supportive and constructive manner. Along with this comes an atmosphere that is laid back, warm and fun.
Don’t get me wrong at the end of the hour my muscles are fatigued I’m tired in the best sort of way. This is a hidden gem!!

Ben and Sarah have this gym dialed in!
I have been working out in a gym setting for over 20 years and I can honestly say this gym is special. The coaches take a full-body, balanced approach that integrates mobility, strength training, and smart nutrition guidance. They are extremely knowledgeable and have done their research! This gym goes far beyond the typical "lift heavy and go home" mentality. I love the hands-on approach from the coaches and their continued correction of my form to make my workouts count. The mobility component has given me actionable steps to improve and manage pain in my hand joints that in recent years have hindered my abilities in the gym. The coaches are constantly helping me improve my range of motion and mobility, making sure I am performing exercises in a way that supports my body's natural mechanics and builds noticeable strength. They are meeting me where I am at, and I appreciate their care, compassion, and patience in helping me prevent further injury. They go above and beyond to make sure I am getting what my body needs to heal and stay fit. I am seeing noticeable gains in strength, performance, and overall health without my nagging joint pains getting in the way. I feel super strong and see benefits outside the gym!

I highly recommend Ascend to everyone! Beginners and seasoned athletes will see huge results and have fun while reaching their goals. The programming is both scalable and challenging. You will never feel like just another number - you are supported every step of the way.

What sets Ascend apart is their focus on sustainable, life-enhancing strength. The group class I join never feels generic — Sarah and Ben always take time to ask how your body is doing and modify accordingly. It’s not about maxing out every week. I love the compliment of strength and mobility work. I’m training for life and having both classes each week keeps my body moving for grandkids and all the outdoor activities I want to do!!

The mobility classes at Ascend are a game-changer. I used to think stretching was enough, but Ben and Sarah teach you how to actually restore movement. The classes are intimate, so they’re constantly checking in on how each drill feels. It’s amazing how much better I sleep and move after class — it’s like maintenance for your body!!

I’ve never experienced a group strength class like the ones at Ascend. Ben and Sarah somehow make every session feel like personal training. They actually watch how you move, correct your form, and tailor cues to help you lift safely and effectively. My lifts feel stronger, smoother, and more purposeful. I have been training with Sarah and Ben at Ascend for over a year and I can't recommend it enough! I found Ascend after looking for a personal trainer who could help me recover after a surgery and strengthen my body for not only the rigors of Jiu Jitsu training, but also skiing, horseback riding, running and backpacking. Ascend training stands out from others as their first session focuses on your desires for growth and then they assess your body and where you need to start your training, specifically regarding your body’s joint mobility, posture and overall strength. They keep this individualized approach in their group classes, making sure every individual is in correct form and lifting in their range throughout class.

I have felt supported in every aspect of my strength training journey, not only with joint mobility and speed training, but guidance for nutrition, hydration, sleep and many other foundational aspects of health.

Whether you are training for Jiu Jitsu, running, hunting, skiing, climbing etc, haven't trained in years or ever, are needing support postpartum or any other reason you are looking to level up your strength and joint mobility, Ascend is the right place for you!

I’ve been lucky enough to have Ben and Sarah as my personal trainers for almost 3 years now. I originally started mobility to help with my back pain that no therapist could help with (I tried probably 8 therapists over 10 years).

With their unique style of training, I have been able to increase my mobility, work on my recurring tendinitis and begin strength training.

I have continued training 2-3 days a week remotely and foresee continuing indefinitely.

I’ve been training with Ben for a year now and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. I’m an ex athlete that has went through a couple of knee surgeries and ankle injures. Before, I was not finding many results with physical therapists and chiropractors. I found Ascend Movement Training when I was looking for another path to recover from my past injuries.

Ever since I’ve started training with Ben, my overall joint health has improved drastically. Ascend Movement Training has transformed my mobility and fitness! I have personally recommended them to all of my friends and family. I practice jiu-jitsu, and with Ben and Sarah's guidance, I have noticed significant improvements throughout my game.

Their personalized approach to fitness and mobility has transformed me into the fittest I've ever been.

I've had tight hips for years and found no relief on my own. When I met with Ascend, they were able to evaluate my symptoms and get me on a training program that addresses my weak spots. My hips now feel better than they have in a long time solely due to their training.

One of the best things has been their approach to foundational movement. Through our training, I found that my shoulder was tight; I don't have issues with it yet, BUT had I done nothing about undoubtedly, it would have become an issue later in life. Now, with Ben's personalized plan, we're focused on shoulder mobility and strength and I'm confident that I will get all of my mobility to where it needs to be.

Working with Sarah and Ben has been a very educational experience--they are very thorough in their explanations of how each move affects our body. As a result, each movement is very purposeful and controlled to get the maximum results. I love the variety in the workouts and the feedback that they provide so you can make corrections immediately. The mobility exercises are absolutely amazing --I have had carpel tunnel issues in both wrists for many years and I am seeing improvements in just a few months! They really will work with you and even send you videos of exercises you can do on your own. Highly highly recommend!

Ben and Sarah are the best. My wife and I have lived all over the country and have worked with many trainers, but none compare. Love the style of training at Ascend. Years of heavy weightlifting has turned me into a large, muscular, and very stiff / inflexible individual. Ben and Sarah's approach of joint mobility over passive flexibility, and technique / functionality over max weight has worked wonders for my body. As a doctor myself, I have been continually impressed with their detailed knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and kinesiology and its applications to their training regimens. After training with them for just a few months, I feel stronger, more limber and more athletic than I have in years. Oh and the hip mobility work Ben had me doing to improve squat form seems to have dramatically improved my chronic lower back pain as well. I will certainly be continuing to train here in the future
