Don’t plan on watching your children participate in classes. It’s against their policies, but they won’t tell you that when you sign your family up. Which is creepy and weird. In fact, the Billings YMCA would rather its members harass others regarding of strict policies than possibly lose a membership with honesty. No where is this policy posted so the local Karen will interrupt your experience to enforce this obscure rule. Buyer beware. Only family friendly if you plan on leaving your child alone with strangers.

Such a welcoming and supportive staff. I have very bad anxiety doing anything new and meeting new people the staff are so kind they have a way of making you feel comfortable and welcome. I don't feel like just another member. I only go once a week but staff members I have only really met once actually remember my name and always have something positive to say even the cleaning staff. I really appreciate their kindness I never expected to meet so many great people at the ymca.

I’m a 5AM regular. Facility is frequently being updated and improved. Very clean. New machines & weights. Friendly staff and welcoming environment. Childcare and plenty of fitness classes to attend. Decently priced monthly membership

Nice facility. Nice staff.

Only reason for my review is the requirement for vaccines for child care. That's crazy. If others vax their kids they should be just fine. To limit me against childcare services for a choice to not flood my kids immune system with trash shows me how much you all really trust those vaccines to work. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

This place has worked hard to make everything accessible for members. Great place to get kids involved and yourself. The price is unfortunate for a family membership. One guy and one is $97/Mo. And they’re only open til 5 sat and 2 sun. For a busy and expensive place you’d think the hours would be more flexible.

It's been a little over a year since picking up a nearly-incurable foot fungus from this place, lots of embarrassing doctor visits. If you plan to go here, DO NOT take your shoes off or even dare walk barefoot in the locker rooms. (I shower everyday, if anyone is wondering.) The janitors aren't paid nearly enough to keep the place clean. Its a shame because that's the closest gym to my house and I'd otherwise go there. I haven't had this problem at any other places I've went.

Overall was the best price we could find for a family membership that included daycare. I love the new remodel, giving you many more options to workout in different areas. Staff is always so helpful and supportive.

Who makes the decision to group the kids basketball teams?? You’re not doing a great job! The tall kids are all group together. No wonder they win all the time. I guess the Skills day is pointless by the way the teams are grouped.

I've been going to this place inconsistently my whole life, the financial aid is amazing, there's 3 gyms, 2 weight rooms, a treadmill room, daycare, basketball, racketball, rock climbing, hot tubs, saunas, pools, indoor track, a track on the roof, yoga classes, zoomba, swimming or biking courses, you name it they have it, best gym that exists in any dimension! Other gyms aren't on the same level as this place. The YMCA is the the new Taylor Swift gym

My wife and I decided to check out the Billings YMCA to see what they had to offer. A staff member offered and gave a tour of the facility plus talked about all the different programs offered. By the end of our tour, we knew this was the place for us to get and stay healthy. So we signed up immediately. Within a couple of days, another staff member reached out to us and asked if we had any questions and encouraged us to contact her. We called her, set up an appointment, and received a more detailed tour and description of the programs that would meet our needs based upon our specific individual goals we shared with her. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. We're really excited to begin a new healthy adventure with the Billings YMCA!

I am a Physician's Associate/Assistant student rotating through Billings for 6 weeks. I am living out of a camper and trying to live on a budget. They waived the join fee saving me some $$$. The facilities are excellent and make my life living in the camper much more comfortable.

The best equipped facility around hands down. Tons of classes included w membership, scholarships, and community.
Since writing this review I've left the YMCA because they absolutely refused to address cleanliness issues in wet areas that involved black mold. In addition I walked in on some, how should I say it, indiscretion in the men's steam room.

The staff here are so helpful and kind. They let you rent lockers for free if you trade your keys or ID. We needed financial assistance and the process was very easy and they were able to get to our paperwork within a few weeks despite being short staffed. I would recommend this location to anyone.

We were told on our first day of swim class by our instructor that the person who was assigned to be our instructor was hone with covid, after leaving multiple voicemail with the aquatics director and a message at the desk, we were turned away again the next week, so this is 4 classes my 2 children showed up, dressed out and were turned away but our misinformed teacher, and after 2 weeks finally received a call from Kathy who stated the mix up was our fault and they would not take any responsibility. I emailed her direct supervisor and left multiple voicemails and I did not receive a response, I then cc'd their supervisor, and still have not received a response. Terrible customer service, terrible business ethics and terrible representation of such a great company. I will never go to another YMCA nationwide because of this terrible experience.
Granite fitness has nonmember swim lessons for less money that are smaller groups with staff who are responsive and care about your child.

I registered my daughter for dance class only to find out a week before the class was to begin and after they had taken a payment that they put my daughter into a completely different class on a completely different day that she will not be able to attened as its a Monday class and not the Wednesday class i had signed her up for. I talked to them a month prior to the class she was suppose to be and was giving the list of items she would need for the class, went out and bought everything. And now a week before I find out the YMCA put her in a different class and the class she was suppose to be in is now full so they can't move her. I was never asked if it was ok to move her to a Monday class nor was I ever notified that she was enrolled in the Monday class, the paper work for enrollment was filled out of the Wednesday class and the conversation I had with the director was about the Wednesday class. So know I have to tell my 5 year old daughter who has been so excited to go to dance class that she can't go. This is beyond ridicules. There was no communication from the YMCA about moving her or that the other class was full until a week before. I would give them negative stars if that was an option 1 star is to many.

Others reviewers list many fine attributes to this YMCA. Mine will state their consistent compassion and kindnesses extended to me over the years. In my travels I'd often be doing it bare-bones: Sleeping in my vehicle, fixing my own food, and the like. This Y grants a non-member one shower per year. Both times I've taken advantage of this were right on time too, as one can only go so many days just washing up at rest areas. So thank you for granting this fellow the privilege of getting clean when he was traveling through and needed it. Means a lot to this veteran.

I have three kids who for certain circumstances have not been able to be left in child care settings until now. The care center worked with me to make sure they felt good about leaving and made a plan to help me utilize their services. I’m really happy with them and plan to come more often.

Great place with a lot going on! Everything from tiny tots sports to pickleball with people of all ages, the Y really does have something for everyone. Two pools, several gyms, and the BEST group fitness classes. I was skeptical that the Y could be better than my old gym, but we joined for the kids activities. It turns out, the group fitness classes are better and more challenging than my old gym. Plus the membership fees are very reasonable and you get access to so much more than just a weight room!
The Y really contributes to the community and makes Billings a better place.

I have always been a supporter until I witnessed the lack of staff communication and follow through with customers. After 2 and half days of trying to find out about some paperwork but having been told my son would have after school care. I am called back a 8 PM on the night before school starts to be told my son is wait listed and there hasn't been room in the program for 2 weeks. When I first called to inquire if there was space and was told yes so I went through the hoops to get my son in. Before those hoops was the time I should have been informed of the waitlist and I would have understood and made other plans necessary while he was wait listed. I now have no after school care for my son the night before school is due to start. Absolutely unacceptable. I would have enrolled him somewhere else or had a back up plan and put him on the waitlist from the start if someone would have informed me when I first called to inquire as inevitably I wanted him in your after school program and would have happily worked through the process. Now I have to miss more work and scramble to figure out a resolution to this issue and all I heard was an I understand you're frustrated. Train your staff on communication.

I've had my struggles with the Billings ymca in particular, as they are in serious need of a makeover and to rid some of their staff. Theft is an issue here as wall as some members of staff not wanting to come to their jobs with a happy attitude. The weight room... oh the weight room.. It desperately needs remolded and EXPANDED for sure as it is often that I'm waiting on the one squat rack to clear. I've seen recently though that they are getting two new ones so this is good news! I really hope that management takes a look at how this ymca doesn't accept memberships from other ymca, also. Every other ymca that I have ever been to accept my memberships from elsewhere so I cant understand why this ymca wouldn't. Basketball is always an issue at this ymca as pickleball and fitness classes often occupy the basketball court more than basketball is allowed to take place which boggles my mind. I will say, however that there are a few staff members that are just awesome! Monique is one in particular that always has a welcoming attitude and never fails to be happy and excited to be at work, which is what the ymca's i remember as a kid were all about. I sincerely hope that upper management takes a good look at her attitude, level of professionalism and overall customer service and puts her in charge of training at some point! I love the YMCA as a whole but most definitely see where Billings is lagging compared to the rest.

Ok....I don't usually leave reviews like this, but, I can no longer ignore the problem! The Y has changed, it is dirty and over crowded. Yesterday I had to wait and wait for parking then I walked in and there are signs up all over about theft being high and to top it off the locker room was beyond dirty it was disgusting! So I just walked out. I love love love the Y, but, there has been a dramatic change that led me to looking for other gyms lately. I don't want to move, but, I also don't want to dread going to the gym. I am posting this here for management to see, so, they can work on fixing the problem. I am so sorry

This ymca is both awesome and not great. The facility is just a bit old. The locker rooms aren't great. Too much group interaction for a mixed sexuality world. I felt like I got a lot of stares from the same sex. Add the inconvenience of it being downtown and that was enough to make me cancel my membership. One thing I can say is that they do have a lot to offer in terms of activities and related facilities.

Not only is the YMCA a place to work out and reach goals but it's a place to get away, it's a place you can go to to release a lot of emotion by working out. They have amazing classes and work out routines, staff that show you correct ways and incorrect ways of doing things. I'm proud to give a rating of 5 stars.

My baby girl (9 yr old) learned to swim here, on her own & she finally took her swim test and passed no problem. We really LOVE it here. :-). :-). :-) She has taken hip hop dance classes & played on the basketball through school a couple of years through school but been members for about 3-4 years (off & on). I've got to bring my momma (Maria Wine) RIP (last Nov) & she LOVED the hot jacuzzi & it was GREAT for her poor swollen legs. :-( So my daughter (Ashlie) LOVES to bring all her friends (guests) to come & experience the FANTASTIC, FAMILY ORIENTED STAFF!!!! Soooo needless to say GREAT facility!!!!! Thank you YMCA for making our membership worth while. <3. <3. <3

They say they practice "core" Christian values, denied me a membership because I'm on the violent offender registry for something that happened 6 years ago, judging someone and not showing forgiveness definitely goes against every Christian value out there, take the Christian out of the name and don't say you practice Christian values when you do the complete opposite by judging someone of their past, such a joke
