This gym is very clean and has a great variety of equipment. I wish it also had a plate-loaded hip thrust machine. Paper towel dispensers would also be beneficial, as currently everyone is touching the paper towel rolls with wet hands, which is not the most sanitary. Overall, it's a wonderful workout environment.

Another solid five out of five stars for Planet Fitness! I know I’ve been handing out a lot of five-star reviews lately, but this one absolutely deserves it. The gym is very spacious with a great variety of equipment—most of it from the new Matrix lineup, which is clean and in excellent condition. The overall environment is welcoming, the staff is friendly, and the showers are clean.

One thing that really stood out to me—and something I rarely see at other Planet Fitness locations—is that they actually have a solid selection of real resistance bands. Not just those odd bands with handles that most locations have, but actual, legitimate resistance bands. That’s a huge plus and definitely worth calling out.

Bonus points for having a hairdryer, which is a big win for me. Just a very solid gym all around.

Are you ever planning on going 24 hours?? Night availability is why I have had a PF membership for so long. Saw a PF on maps when moving to the area and was stoked, it's right by my house. Unfortunately the hours do not align with my work/personal schedule, most of my workouts happen from 9p-2am. If it's not 24 hours by fall weather, I will have to cancel and find something else with 24hr access.

Shower Review: this is kinda a 3.5 star but I rounded up. This planet fitness has 3 changing rooms across a hall from 4 showers. The showers have a shelf which is appreciated and have the simple to operate temp control where you just turn it to hot (though it does go further than you think). I do have 2 complaints which are not terrible complaints and not deal breakers. The water was almost as hot as I wanted but not quite there. Every time someone flushed a toilet and the water got hotter was absolute joy but I was not left shivering as I have been at some planet fitnesses so not the worst. The other major complaint is that for some reason the showers have hours that are different from the main gym hours. I have never seen this at another planet fitness and though it did not affect us it could seriously throw off some else’s plans.

I was warned that it is hard to cancel membership and I am yet I am another victim. I was advised when I called Bozeman I cannot cancel over phone, so I tried online and could not login nor reset password then was Locked out of account. I made every attempt to cancel. Reached out to Bozeman gym manager who wouldn't refund and frankly, he didn't care. Nice guy at front desk I spoke with, not his fault but the whole process is a joke.. girl with long nails working on June 17 failed to give me any instructions when I went in to cancel in person, she didn't mention I would still be charged for the next month and she didn't tell me that my membership would still be active for the next month, she said it ended the day of cancellation. Had I had some foresight, I would have not asked for a refund but because management is okay with sub par staff who did less than the minimum, I paid for another month and didn't know I still was able to use gym.... I was very kind and polite when calling, never used an aggressive tone so I am not sure why customer service was so poor.

I completely agree with the comment about the showers. This isn't the only PF that has the same situation. It's not just the employees job to clean showers.
PF MEMBERS it is also your duty to clean up after yourselves! I'm sure your mom isn't coming in to clean up after you! Guessing you EXPECT someone will or it's someone else's job. Just have some common courtesy for other members.

I love the gym, and I love to poke fun of it. The marketing is genius. Have a base $15.00 per month membership and appeal to those those who are intimidated by the alpha men and women at other gyms, so you get what you pay for: The “Purple Barney” health club. It’s so appealing, you get the fastest growing gym chain in America. Don’t drop the weights. Don’t “fat shame” or judge. Seriously, though, besides the value, the adult jungle gym has plenty of free and machine weights and a plethora of cardio machines, plus space to spare and a double fee for more amenities. Simply Genius!

I have an awesome experience with this place and the employees. They are all friendly lively people. The manager is wonderful as well. I had an incident with my account and the management handled it very nicely. Calmed my situation down and assured me everything was fine. He had made me feel better about myself and the situation. I recently signed up for the 1 dollar month for the first month, I did not even get to use the account for a week before they charged my monthly fee then would have me charged again 10 days later on 6/17 and said they bill a month ahead so now they charged a card I did not store with them and ran it anyways cause I made my first time payment with that card. I only gave them permission to use that card one time and not store the info. I stored another form of payment for them to use worst lying manipulating company going to sue for frued and theft of services and lying on a promotional to get people into the club and sign up worst company ever

They aren't open 24 hours due to employees, it's a great place to work out at. The employees are very helpful. Their showers are not so good they don't have enough force to get a real cleaning, the shower heads are way too high up. They refuse to make the floor nonslipable. They say yes they are working on it, but after a few months nothing is done and I am tired of it.
Their massage chairs are the BOMB!!!

I’ve been really enjoying my time at Planet Fitness! It’s almost always super clean, which is amazing, and the staff is friendly and welcoming. However, I’m still not sure if this location offers the body enhancement feature. According to the website, it’s supposed to be available, but I’ve asked the front desk a handful of times, and there seems to be some confusion. Some staff have told me they don’t have it, while others have directed me to a tanning bed, saying it’s the body enhancement. I know that the body enhancement should be an RDL machine and is typically red, not purple. I wanted to ask again —does this location have the body enhancement feature? please answer.

I travel a lot, mostly in the western states but it’s so nice to have a planet fitness membership where any town I visit I can work out at a Planet fitness location. Bozeman is by far my favorite gym. They keep things clean and think of the little things, like paper towels in the ladies room. Jeff the manager has done a great job at ordering new equipment and making the workers keep things neat and tidy. The equipment is arranged in a way to optimize my workout. If something breaks, it is fixed right away. The equipment at this gym is all new and up to date. The front desk help is always friendly and helpful. Honestly I have been in the gym business for over 30 years and this gym I can recommend with confidence. Thanks for doing a great job Bozeman.

I have been working in gyms for decades as a resounding
Trainer and member... I live just across the street from PF but can't bring myself to work out there. There are reasons gyms have mirrors and it has very little to do with vanity and more to do with checking your own form and progress. To me it's a given that mirrors are there for assistance. They are an instructive tool. So, even though PF is just across the street I will find a someplace that gets it.

I’m a truck driver so my reviews are #1 based on parking because usually the only issue. This parking isn’t possible for a semi but I did enter behind the sports store and parked in loading dock area and had just a short walk so it wasn’t a real issue. Edited! New management came in and now they don’t open regular hours. 7-7 on the weekends makes no sense. They need to edit their Google schedule when they decide to close soon for the holidays, also post it on Google so people don’t get disappointed when they spend gas on going. The workers are nice, I guess is the lack of people but they definitely need to check the weekend schedule.

Let me say I was hesitant to sign up for Planet fitness simply because of the stigma that has been built around planet fitness - I have since made a complete 180
If you are looking to compete in powerlifting this is not the gym for you.
If you are looking to do anything else (cardio, muscle building, etc) this is the best place to go. Membership is very well priced. The facility is extremely clean and the staff are very kind.

My wife and I are both busy professionals based in NYC, and have traveled extensively in the U.S., and have black card membership. The Planet Fitness in Bozeman, Montana is by far the best equipped. All new state of the art machines, multiples of each ( no waiting), and an attentive knowledgeable professional staff. It’s been our favorite Planet Fitness experience yet. BRAVO

I started coming here in March 2024 and I've loved it. Always quiet in the morning, just a handful of us dedicated people. I was a little disappointed when it changed from a 24/7gym to opening at 4. Well this morning we went in and found out they won't be opening until 5 starting December 16th2024. What, this is suppose to be a 24 hour gym? I will have to find a new gym I can't come in at 5, I'm usually leaving at 5. It's a real disappointment that they can't seem to keep employees and now members are suffering.

This is a review based upon the tanning beds, cleanliness, and customer service.

Multiple times now I have gone to use the tanning beds and they were extremely dirty and gross. Hair, numerous smudges and sweat spots are seen on the bed itself as well as hair and debris on the floor area. The first 2 times I figured it may be a fluke and cleaned it up myself, however by the third time of the same problem I decided I should voice my concerns to the staff.

The staff member couldn’t be bothered by my concerns, as I let her know the beds were very dirty and that this wasn’t the first time. She said thanks for letting us know in an annoyed way. No apologies, no “we will get right on that and have it cleaned”, no assurance at all that she was even slightly concerned at how gross the tanning beds were and that staff members have clearly not been cleaning them. I included some pictures to show all the smudges/hair on the bed (which were hard to get on a picture vs seeing in person.)

Bacterial, fungal, and viral skin infections are all serious possibilities of an uncleaned bed, and your staff does not appreciate the seriousness of this and the risks it poses on your members. For this reason I am cancelling my membership as I do not feel it is safe to tan here.

I missed payments for 5 months. I thought it would be canceled automatically anyway. After that, they said u have a balance of 105. I said ok, take it, and they said 17, we will take 20. I said ok . I used this as a place to work out and use the showers when I was traveling on the road in the summer time. I don’t remember if the showers were a problem but my issue with planet fitness is their customer service. I am trying to cancel my account since I stopped traveling and the closest planet fitness in my current location is more than an hour away. I haven’t heard from them in about a week after I reached out to cancel. I sent another email to confirm my account has been canceled but it wasn’t. I asked them when were they gonna tell me it was declined and they mentioned they tried the card 5 minutes ago so they are telling me now…

So they were just gonna ignore my previous email about canceling it? If I didn’t reach out to check if they canceled it or not, I probably would have got charged for another month.

The main issue is showers. The temp continuously cycles between warm and cool. About every 30 seconds. This is fine in summer. In winter...?

Long term, post vendor-reply edit: what we commonly refer to as hot water is not a resource, here. The best you can hope for is a surge of warmish h2o when someone flushes. Whether this is an intentional adjustment or a broken heater amounts to the same.
To the manager: you are unable to "adjust" the temp to a particular member. That is what the handle is for. C for cold. H for hot. Winter is coming.

Went to a planet fitness for THE FIRST TIME in my life. Was told to register on a tablet and was then told I had already been there. The staff proceeded to tell me they needed a picture of me for a day pass. Tell me, if I had already been there, why would you need a photo of me? No clue why this location has such a low rating. It's a very nice location. Showers were clean, they had blow dryers(most locations dont) open layout, very easy to find where to go if from out of town. Tanning beds worked wonderfully only bummer was the deep tissue chairs, which were only legs and back. But worked amazing.

This location had serious plumbing issues when I visited. There was water all over the floor near the showers, a serious safety hazard. Yet there was very low water pressure and no hot water in the shower. There was also no indication they were aware of or attempting to fix these problems. This was very disappointing since I visited on a roadtrip hoping to shower, not work out.

I have been to many PF gyms around the country. I was apprehensive reading so many negative reviews. I went anyway and boy was I surprised at how great this gym is. The gym is large and has lots of great equipment. Everything was clean and orderly. The bathrooms and showers were great, good pressure and lots of hot water.
The negative reviews are either very old or the person has a beef with this gym for some reason. Don't hesitate to try this gym. See for yourself.

Wanted to try the gym for their tanning. Made it halfway through the tanning session and the machine is barely warm. I got out and went to the front desk to let them know this wouldn’t work out due to the machinery. I hadn’t been in the gym more than 20 minutes and I am unable to cancel. I offered to pay for a “single session” to pay for my time in the gym but that isn’t something they do. You arnt allowed to try the tanning to test it out. I should have done more research into the tanning. Due to the tanning machine, I wouldn’t recommend this gym if you are looking to add a tanning regiment into your routine. The machine will leave you disappointed :(

I’m sure the response from management will be “we are sorry you didn’t read into the fine print when you signed up”. If I have used your facilities for less than 20 minutes, cancelation shouldn't be a difficult discussion.

I've found this location to have friendly staff, clean facilities, and a large space that doesn't feel too crowded.

However, I've had numerous issues with their posted hours. Firstly, I realized it wasn't open 24/7, which as another reviewer mentioned, was incorrect on Google.

The gym closes at 9 on Fridays, which is incorrect in the app, where it's listed as 24 hours. Lastly, even those the closing time is at 7PM on weekends, I've shown up at 6:30PM with the doors already locked.

I loved planet fitness I have been a member for 2 years. I went to the one in Helena all the time. I love the infrared lights and use the one in Helena twice a week. I went to Bozeman and noticed my skin was starting to burn I jumped out because I was afraid I was sent in the wrong room. I have had skin cancer so I am terrified of tanning beds. The lady assured me it was just the red light on my skin it’s not actually burning me. So the next week I went in for the full amount and I’m so burned and miserable! I called management and she said oh it’s because it’s new that can happen. Ok thanks for letting me know ahead of time. 😡 probably should have a sign in the room to warn people super disappointed and will continue to use Helena instead of Bozeman location.

So my daughter has hydro plastic left heart syndrome. We travel from Bozeman to Salt Lake for her surgeries and and any issues that may arise. After we set up a membership, when they were not even open yet, they told us our annual would be in March. They pulled it at the beginning of February, which put us in a critical financial issue. I asked if they could please put it back until it was time, that I would be able to pay it by then. Still nothing. Three weeks later. Saw images of inside, not excited. Probably going to cancel membership

You can't beat the prices for the amount of equipment they have! No Barbell bench presses, power racks for squatting, but they do have Smith machines, massage chairs, hydro massages, red light, tanning, a wellness pod, and a hot/cold contrast bed. Both times I have tried to go when it says that it’s 24 hours and it’s been closed by 9 PM one time I was in the parking lot and I could see three receptionist sitting inside standing at the desk so I wanted to call so I could get some hours so I know when I can come in and when I can’t however they just kept hanging up the phone horrible customer service, especially since it wasn’t even quite 9 o’clock

This place makes it impossible for you to cancel your membership… I have tried to get a hold of management multiple times. I was told to mail a letter with my cancellation request on it and supposedly the letter was never received. I never got a call back from management, I tried to explain to them 100 different ways that my husband and I unexpectedly have to move and that we never even used their facility. We tried to cancel before they even opened. Big yikes that you guys have only been open a week and already have such horrible reviews.

scales track water weight, as you workout you pump blood/water into muscles and will gain weight, unless tracking food and salt, scale weight is a flawed perception, LETS ALL SEE TRUTH, TOGETHER AS A FAMILY!!!

Great gym but they don’t have scales for some reason. How are we supposed to track progress without scales. Don’t know if I’ve ever seen a gym without scales?

They don’t have a red light therapy like it says on the website. And then they try to act like there’s one in the stand up tanning bed. The gym area is nice. 👍🏼

Yikes. This place felt like a barely assembled jungle gym. I’m a black card member bc I travel a lot for work so I’ve seen my fair share of gyms, Planet Fitness’s in particular. I got the feeling that someone who doesn’t go to the gym set up the flow of this new location…it was incredibly cramped, exercise machines (for abs, stretching, free weights, even the leg press) were oddly placed in very awkward areas. I was expected brand new and instead I found trash in the free weights area (people leaving their empty energy drink cans). There was only one employee going around resetting the smiths and checking on things. It was clear they did not splurge on setting this particular location up for success. No cleaning stations, very few communal code lockers out front, and again very odd equipment availability and setup.

However, the most alarming part of trying to work out at this location was that the cable machine islands and maybe even the smith machines were not properly anchored to the ground. They were literally rocking (see video) when someone was using the lat pull-down and the other sides were occupied by people using the cables.

Not sure about you but I don’t want someone hovering over me doing cable pull exercises while I’m trying to use a smith machine. I also do not want to do the leg press or the ab slider in the middle of a workout area. This was by far the oddest and most unsettling gym I’ve been in.
