Well for myself it’s super handy as I’m a trucker and like another fella in the reviews said, there a supermarket around back that has nice open parking (I drive a superB two trailers) and I can get in and out relatively easy, i would however give it a 5⭐️ if they had a few extra machines like a seated lateral raise machine and definitely could do with some weight benches for barbell exercises ie incline decline and flat there isn’t any🥺 just benches for dumbbell use, other than that it’s ok, super stoked I can get my big rig in 😚👌

This Planet Fitness is a solid gym that checks all the boxes. It's a good size, clean, and has everything you'd expect from a Planet Fitness location.

Right from the entrance, it feels a bit more welcoming than usual—there’s a “Joke of the Day” posted, and members regularly hang their car keys on the wall, which gives off a chill, safe vibe.

They also keep the lost and found right by the entrance, which is a small but thoughtful touch.

The layout is typical for Planet Fitness, but the lighting here adds a nice, subtle touch that makes the space feel more inviting.

There are six Smith machines—two set straight and three set on an incline. There’s only one pec fly machine, which felt a bit limited. Most of the equipment is Precor, with some newer Matrix machines mixed in, along with the usual Life Fitness and Hammer Strength. Precor and Matrix are hit or miss for me, but I have to give props to the angled Precor leg press—it was honestly a standout and made for a great experience.

Staff are friendly and approachable. If I had to point out one downside, it would be that the showers didn’t smell great—they could use a bit more attention. Still, it’s not a dealbreaker. On the plus side, they have hairdryers in the locker room, which is always appreciated.

Overall, this is a great Planet Fitness. It’s clean, well-equipped, and has a safe, welcoming atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit.

Went with PF after struggling to sign up at another local gym and wanting to get started asap. Honestly, it's been great for my partner and myself. We get there early and haven't struggled using the equipment we need or anything like that. Someone is cleaning the bathroom every morning when I get there so by the time I shower, it's freshly cleaned and I haven't noticed anything concerning. The price is great, and we do the black card so we can utilize the "spa" a couple of times a week which is great for muscle recovery.

My only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is it's WEIRDLY quiet. I feel like no one talks in this place. Everyone is in their own little world (including employees) and other than a "thanks" when I'm leaving, I don't hear another soul speaking. lol When I talk to my partner I feel like I'm disturbing folks. It's so odd for a gym to be THAT quiet. Maybe it's just because we go early and people aren't caffeinated yet.........

Definitely an older PF gym here when looking at weight machines but not lacking of anything. Treadmills had monitors so that was a nice improvement that I have rarely seen at PF. Several machines “out of order”. Overall felt clean and comfortable.

Staff is nice enough however I've been going to this gym for well over a year with my friends and been able to use the massage chairs and stuff without a membership. Finally decided to get one for myself come to find out guests arnt allowed to use the perks! I know I should have read all the rules before getting a membership so that's on me but since I've been going back there as a guest for well over a year I thought it was normal! I guess they just decide to enforce or not enforce rules whenever they feel like. It was kind of lame to find out. Because what's the point in being able to bring a guest if they can't enjoy the whole experience with you!!? They can use all of the expensive machines but not get a massage for 10 minutes? How lame. Also most people bring a guest because they're uncomfortable alone! So they're not gonna go to the backroom alone.

Done with PF. It's become entitled people who hang out on equipment for 20-30 mins and not working out but on the dang cell phones all the time, everyone trying to take videos and photos every 5-10 minutes. The under 30 crowd is beyond the worst with so many acting like they have to have the whole gym for their stupid social media videos and throw a tantrum when someone calls their immature butt's out on it. Price is hard to beat. Friendly staff and nice to be able to workout late when no-one is there. It's a pretty strange atmosphere for a gym though, they give out free candy and have pizza some nights which seems counter intuitive and is hard to resist when you're tired from working out.

They have a good selection of cardio and have a lot of fancy weight machines but are really lacking when it comes to your basic free weights. There are no real bench presses, squat racks, or free bar bells, instead you're limited to either Smith machines or fixed weight bars that only go up to 70lbs. They also could use more stretching mats and a better designated stretching area. They don't have a towel rental or borrow service either which is strange.

Cancelled my membership last year, got charged for it again today out of the blue. When I called to have them refund it, they said it was "out of their hands" refusing to repay my $39 "membership fee" to a gym I cancelled membership to.
They stole money from me and refused to pay it back. Literally said, "oh well" to me in the phone. They gave me the number to a call center in India that told me they could not refund me and.its is.up to the local club. So now they both refuse to repay the money they stole from me.

If I could give them zero stars I would. This is the worst planet fitness I have ever been to. The staff is fine they did nothing wrong and are usually young college kids minding their business. Mostly it’s the old -dirty equipment that hasn’t been updated, cleaned or repaired in probably a decade and the other MEMBERS who don’t understand basic gym etiquette such as cleaning after you use a machine, setting the weight down back to the lowest after using - putting the weights back in consecutive order in free weights, and taking benches or equipment without asking when you are resting etc etc. it’s like a free for all in the mornings. People just snatch stuff and scurry off. A general lack of kindness and courtesy. Do not go here. Just don’t. The vibes are way off.

You get what you pay for. Went in during regular posted business hours because there was no indication that their hours were different or changed for the day. Door was just locked with no sign on window. Called and asked why that was the case and Manager by the name Conlan apologized but said if I had a complaint, I could take it up with corporate. Just hung up on me. I wasn’t being being confrontational or anything. Just calling to ask for better communication so I didn’t wake up at 4 am, in -30 degree weather to find out I didn’t have access to the gym this morning.

When Fuel Fitness closed, I migrated to Planet Fitness in Helena. The first few months experiences were great but it's gone downhill for the past several months; front desk staff on cell phones, cross trainers falling to pieces (handle grips falling off - or taped with black electrical tape, TV monitors either don't work, or the same channel is on all channels, FOX News not available for the last nine months), Men's shower room is dirty (the same smashed bar of soap was in the same shower floor for three days, hair on the floor and in the drain, smelly). A couple of rowing machines would be a beautiful addition as well as a rack of dumb bells on the east side of gym. Two sets of 20 and 25 pounders are not near enough due to the hoarders.

On 09/22/2023 I fell 2 stories here in Helena, MT. I was life flighted to Billings, MT where I received several surgeries and kept there for 3 weeks. They then transported me to Elk Horn in Clancy. While I was in Billings I called all autopay companies in September who were more than willing to help in any way considering my situation. Plant Fitness was one of these companies. I spoke with a manager named Matt. He was willing to help in any way he could. He said he immediately froze my account and no other payments would come out of my account. After speaking with my bank, I was told Planet Fitness is the only one still taking payments and that they have had many problems with Planet Fitness with other people’s accounts and to call them again to see if they would credit my account for the payments because the overdraft fees really ran fees up. Of course, the manager that told me he froze my account and that nothing else would come out of my account no longer works there. So this manager Derek in Helena, MT has decided that he would not honor what the previous manager told me.He also refused to give me the name or number of his boss so that this issue could be escalated. I will call and speak to whoever I need to because the company is not honoring what I was told 2 months ago. I’ve never dealt with a company that goes against what their customer was told and the lack of compassion and empathy is mind blowing. I’m truly in shock of how I was spoke to over a $25.00 refund that based on the former manager’s words.

The Helena location really needs a new team. EVERY visit I hear the employees at the counter loudly bashing their life's problems. I also frequently hear inappropriate language. A few of them are welcoming but not overly. The shower room floor is not properly cleaned. Hair and grime everywhere. Move the bench in the dresaing room and you will find rust stains on the floor and hair and grime along the wall. There is grime around all of the stall walls on the floor. Trash inside the shower. Gnats in the shower. Toothpaste on the shower wall. The dressing stall mirrors haven't been touched. I come here because it's affordable. But cheap shouldn't be sleezy. Especially when we've kept our membership paid since the day it opened and have hardly used it. MANAGEMENT AND OWNERSHIP need to do better. Don't know if it's the same owner, but I know who it used to be and was not impressed with him even when he built it.

The young kids that work here much of the time are usually on their phone behind the counter, instead of doing productive things like cleaning

A lot of the machines are out of order for days and weeks on end others have parts falling off of them as well as programming issues on a lot of the cardio machines

Lastly, they don’t even enforce the rules that used to make this Planet Fitness a great place to work out. They’ve really slacked off by allowing that small group of people (you know who they are) to slam and abuse the equipment, both the free weights and the machine weights

The manager is a terrible person. not long ago I saw some boys grab the 75lb dumbbells' for dumbbell RDLS which is a very respectable weight. The manager immediately insulted them calling them small and too weak to pick up the weights. these boys have been working out long enough for this to be an appropriate weight and this is supposed to be a judgement free zone yet he was very aggressively judging them. if I knew his name I would call upper management and chew him out to his boss.

Had a real BAD experience here., on Sept. 04 and 05. Terrible staff member on the 4th. TERRIBLE MANAGER on the 5th. Still extremely MAD. I will be filing my concerns with the NATIONAL Planet Fitness and then with the BBB and especially the Attorney General's office. I have been in the fitness industry for over 50 years. I went in to check about joining and it looked very organized and clean. The employees were very nice and helpful. He walked around with me and and answered all my questions. The only downside for me was the yearly fee and to do the membership I would want you had to do a year commitment , I don't like the commitment but if you have a medical or military reason you can put it on hold. The other one you don't have the commitment but I am not sure about the yearly fee along with the membership fee . The membership fee is priced very good though so if you don't mind the yearly fee it's a nice gym. They don't have a pool but they have hydromassage tables , massage chairs and tanning booths that are included with the yearly commitment and 50%off the drinks in the cooler. They are open 24hrs except on most days. Its worth checking out and deciding if it works for you.

The lights are on all the machines are going the TVs going but the doors are locked, and there are several people in the parking lot, and standing in front of the front doors, and yet no one can get into work out. Compared to all of the other PF locations across the country I’ve been to this is the ONLY one that is dirty. Dust on all machines, the precor stretching machine left my legs and knees black and it won’t come off. All other PFs have one person cleaning and dusting. I've been a member of Helena Planet Fitness for over 3 years. I like the variety of gym equipment and low key, non-competitive, atmosphere. Membership is inexpensive, even for the upgrade that allows my teenage son to workout when I do. Because I am a Black Card member, using the spa amenities after exercising is a relaxing finish to my visits.

Three stars out of five because the equipment is beginning to need maintenance. Out of order signs are popping up and remaining in place for too long - one hydro massage chair in the Black Card lounge has been disassembled for several weeks. Also, the returning staff after COVID-19 restrictions is less motivated to provide customer service than in the past. I've witnessed workers openly scrolling through their smartphones while at the front desk while I attempted to enlist their help.

If I wanted to participate in formal classes with a trainer, I would probably rate PF lower. A friend who is suspending her membership reported that she has yet to be able to attend the class she's signed up for, because other activities were being done, instead.

I have been to alot of planet fitness centers as I travel alot for work but the employees here don't smile or greet you. Come on people be a motivator for your customers! They are your paychecks! I like the spacing for customers and it looks clean which I also appreciate but please be the one place we can go in town to get great customer service with smiles and excitement!

Only problem with this place that I've noticed so far, is the young girl that I've encountered several times. She's very rude and today I went to tan and with her back to me informed me they was full. When I stated I'd wait she replied, well I'll go clean one!! Well thank you, since that's your job!!!
