Jim is one of the best trainers that I have had the privilege of learning from. I started training with Jim as an undergraduate student, I am a clinical physical therapist today. Training under Jim’s guidance afforded me valuable foundational knowledge that helped as PT student. Jim doesn’t just train people, he coaches them. I met Jim over 8 years ago originally to help with my squat technique prior to a powerlifting meet. After meeting Jim and training with him a few sessions I was hooked. I've known Jim for many many years. A friend of mine started going to his gym for personal training and recommended that I check it out. I started a couple years ago at the age of 64. I've had multiple shoulder surgeries and some other injuries. Jim did an excellent job of modifying some of the workouts for the needs relating to my injuries. He's very knowledgeable and takes a personal interest in each of his clients. I highly recommend Jim Thompson if you're looking for a more personalized workout experience.

Jim worked with all 3 of my sons. They were all new to weight training when we reached out to Jim and the progress they made was impressive. Jim worked with them for several years. Jim knows what he is talking about and is very good at explaining muscle groups and how and why things tie together. He was soo good at explaining the techniques and why the techniques are important to young athletes. Jim was able to help build the foundations they needed to understand and build on their progress. Jim is a great teacher (and a great person!) and I highly recommend him if you or someone you know needs help in the gym. Met Jim at my first powerlifting meet 20 years ago. He knows and practices what he teaches. I travel 140 miles one way to train with Jim. I have trained with him for 20 years and could not think about training with anyone else. Jim is humble and honest. He took me from a 1,200 lb total and I expect to hit a 1,500 total next year. I am 68 and he does not coddle me. Whether you are powerlifting, trying to lose weight, conditioning for a specific sport, regain your youthful strength, I could not think of a better coach. Began training with Jim when my girls (twins) were 12 years old and they continued with him through high school and in preparation for college soccer. His training covers everything an athlete needs to excel in their sport.

Initially started with the goal to gain muscle and up my deadlift weight for the Army’s (then new) fitness test.
