I’ve been going to this gym since Feb 2025 and it’s been the best thing for my fitness journey. The coaches truly care about your journey and experience. The community is also great! Everyone is so supportive and that’s the #1 reason why I came back. I’ve gotten so stronger and I love how you can be at any level, the coaches always have something for you to do to get stronger. I would 11/10 recommend.

I just finished the Healthy Steps Nutrition Challenge at ZTCF and the impact it's made on me is immense! From improved eating habits, nutrition hacks that make eating right super easy, improved sleep, even lowering stress, it's all there and the coaches were with us every step of the way to make sure we stayed on track. I've tried other programs which start out well but can be difficult to maintain. This will be very easy to maintain. I've already seen a boost in my performance in the gym. As an added bonus, my family is eating healthier as well because of how easy the coaches made it for us. Thank you ZTCF!

Moving across the country from Boston to Missoula, my husband and I were seeking a new gym. Within days of getting to Missoula we joined Zootown. Kayla and Scott are amazing owners and welcomed us right in. Every class is a challenge, but it never seems impossible with the Zootown community cheering you on!

I've been working out at Zootown for seven months now and I can't recommend it enough!

I can't even pick a favorite thing... is it the excellent coaches with such great attention to detail and encouragement? is it the members who are so welcoming from day 1? is it the programming with scaling options to meet you at your fitness level? is it the facilities with rig space for each person in every class? is it the holistic approach to health because it's not just picking up and putting down heavy things that makes us fit?

If you're reading this and considering Zootown, I don't know what your reason will be but I hope you come check it out and have a great workout. When you do, remember Coach Adam's awesome mantra…

The coaches are fantastic and have helped me to scale when dealing with recovering from an injury. There are plenty of options to scale certain exercises so they can meet you where you are at on your fitness journey and also help push you to get better and see improvements (shout out Adam, G, and Tiffany). It seems like a healthy mix of people who have been coming here for many years and people newer to the movements. Every week is different than the next, so keeps things interesting. The gym is clean and has plenty of equipment. Their nutrition program was a huge help for me and helped me lose inches/lbs by introducing better, healthy habits and building upon those habits, opposed to restrictive, unsustainable methods. Those habits have been really helpful to go back to if things get off track with travel/holidays/life!

CrossFit Zootown has been my gym since December 2015. We have had great changes an improvements along the way. We have one of the nicest gyms with great equipment an Wod stations! The community is a blend of all sizes shapes ages genders! Everyone always offers support enthusiasm fist bump! The owners “The Johnsons” have introduced a lot of fun, great coaching at every class. I joined ZTCF one year ago and am loving it! This is the most consistent I’ve stuck with a fitness routine in a long time, which speaks volumes to the staff and fellow crossfitters at ZT. The coaches are very helpful, the gym offers class time options that work perfectly with my schedule, and the other members are so friendly and encouraging. I never did CrossFit before, but I’m so glad I started! I feel stronger, and it even shows outside of the gym, like how my biking has gotten better.

Finally! A nutrition plan I can stick to & I’m seeing results! For years I believed I could improve my fitness & health if I improved my nutrition, but I’d never found a program I could stick with. Then I signed up for the Healthy Steps Nutrition (HSN) challenge at Zootown CrossFit, & that changed! 4 months later I’m still following the program, enjoying it & continuing to see results. Pounds & inches lost, but best of all…MORE ENERGY! And, I never feel hungry.

I just finished the Healthy Steps Nutrition challenge here and, wow! I was in need of a major reset in my health and nutrition and this was an incredibly easy to follow program that focused on building small habits daily that eventually turn into bigger habit changes over time. My sleep has improved, I have more energy during the day, and I received SO MUCH support from the coaches and fellow challenge-members. I also find myself wanting to make healthier choices daily and not beating myself up if something doesn’t go as planned. Thanks ZT for helping me get healthier and work towards my goals!

The Healthy Steps Nutrition program at Zootown was absolutely amazing! I’ve done several other nutrition programs that left me hungry and frustrated at how time consuming they could be. HSN and the coaches set me up for success by helping me create healthy and sustainable habits, not only in my nutrition but my sleep and stress management. Having others to do this challenge alongside and hearing their successes throughout each week helped keep me accountable to strive to meet my goals. Kayla and Adam were always available for any questions and are very knowledgeable in so many different areas of health. Now that the 28 day challenge is complete I still find myself meeting each daily goal without much effort and it has truly helped develop a lifestyle change. I started coming to ZTCF about a year and a half ago. The facility, coaches and community are so much more than I could have ever imagined. The noon class is truly the highlight of my day.

Since starting CrossFit I've gotten so much stronger and more confident with my fitness but consistent nutrition has always been hard for me. At the start of April I joined the ZTCF 28 day nutrition challenge. I didn't expect much but figured it would be a good incentive to get "back on track" after our family Spring Break vacation.

I cannot say enough about the nutrition program. I have followed a lot of diets over the years, some more effective than others and none with lasting changes. The difference with this program was that it was not a diet, there was no calorie or macro counting. Nothing was "bad" or "off limits." I met with my nutrition coach to kick off the challenge and we talked through my motivation, goals and challenges in the past. I felt like Kayla really listened and understood my struggles. We set short and long term goals that were specific, measurable and achievable. The program focused on awareness and implementing small lifestyle changes one at a time. The result was that it was so manageable. Having the support and accountability of the community and my coach definitely helped maintain motivation.

At the end of the 28 day challenge I lost a total of 9 lbs, 5.25 inches and 2.5% body fat. I could not be happier with the results and I feel confident I can continue with the lifestyle changes the program helped me implement. It was a fantastic experience!

The structure of the nutrition class was easy to follow and the group support through the HSN app was so much fun! As a plus size women, walking in was daunting, but the staff were amazing. They walked me through everything that was gonna happen and the different exercises that we would be doing. Everyone working out with me was really nice and kind and encouraging.

Had a great experience dropping in to a class recently. Staff is friendly, everyone in the class is very welcoming. Equipment was in great shape and there wasn’t so many people there that it was bottlenecked. I was a little disappointed to see it was a “no chalk” gym but that always seems to be derived from local environment. I’ll need to come back again sometime to see what else their programming includes.

There is something to be said about the coaching staff at Zootown. As an introvert, asking for help at the gym has always been a struggle for me. The coaches here are amazing at explaining the workouts, offering and demonstrating scales for everyone, and approaching each member before a workout to make sure they are comfortable with what they are doing. They will check your form, help you mid-workout, and cheer you on but also give you space if that’s what you need. A truly wonderful group of humans.

I've been going to this gym for the past 10 years. I've dropped in on 20+ functional fitness gyms around the country. I can honestly say that Zootown CrossFit is one of the best in the country. The space, equipment, coaching, programming, and community are top notch. It is a welcoming space for average Joe's just looking to improve their fitness or physique, or it can serve members looking to compete in CrossFit. Since Kayla and Scott Johnson purchased the gym a couple years ago, they have taken what was already great and made it even better. You can tell they genuinely care about both the gym and the people who walk through its doors. I highly recommend Zootown CrossFit for you if you value fitness + community.

I’ve been attending classes at Zootown for years, and everybody I’ve met there is amazing, as is the coaching staff. There’s a great camaraderie to be shared there when everyone has the same workout to do. Any of the movements can be adapted and scaled down to fit any athlete’s abilities, so there is a place for everyone! Everybody there wants to see you improve, because they are likewise there to improve their own performance. No one is ever judged on their ability or their level of fitness and it’s an environment that I would welcome anyone to experience.

I am not one that typically writes reviews unless genuinely moved by a product or facility, that being said, Zootown Cross fit is an amazing place to work out and I highly recommend working out here!

I joined Zootown about 4 months ago and was absolutely new to cross fit. Needless to say I was nervous trying it out. Those worries were immediately put to rest with the amazing staff and members that make up the Zootown community.

The coaching is awesome with plenty of coaches circulating to give you personalized improvement pointers on form, scaling and weight; not to mention continually encouraging you and motivating you to do your best.

The members are a variety of skill levels ranging from new like me to incredible athletes but members and staff alike are welcoming, encouraging and inspiring you to do and be your best during every work out. I feel like I am part of a real community/family and I love every minute of it.

On top of all of that I am seeing real physical results because of the program Zootown runs. The work outs are different everyday with a vast variety of strength movement and cardio and I can tell I am getting stronger, building beautiful muscle and definition, increasing my stamina, and beginning to lean out.

I spent the summer in Missoula and my sister encouraged me to try out zootown crossfit and I am so glad she did. I had never done CrossFit and am not in the best shape but all the trainers and other people are so helpful, positive, and encouraging. They are so welcoming no matter your fitness level. It is by far the best gym or group fitness I have ever done.

I found them rude and unprofessional, they start their workout at 5:30am I went over there to express my concern, that when they lift and drop their weights it shakes my house and wakes up my family they told me they would get thicker mats, it's been almost two years and their still waking us up at least 4 times a week, they obviously don't care about their neighbors or standard quiet time.

I'd never done crossfit before, so knowing the bad rap that crossfitters get i was skeptical.
I went with a buddy and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Better yet, the folks participating were also friendly, supportive and encouraging.
The monthly is a little steep compared to a traditional gym membership, but the workouts are great and it was a good atmosphere.

Zootown CrossFit is one of the best CF gym's I've ever been to. I moved here from NC and did not know anything about Missoula. After a [great] recommendation from our waitress about John and Sarah, I checked out ZTCF. That was one of the best decisions I made!!

The community at Zootown is what makes this gym/box so special. Yes, you'll get a great workout in, but it's about the people you meet and workout with. This group has become my family. Outside of the gym, these are the people I hang out with.

John and Sarah have put their heart and soul into this place - both the physical appearance of the building and equipment, and in the people that join us. This truly is their passion, and it shows. It only takes one day to experience the amazingness of Zootown CrossFit and want to keep coming back. So, give it a try, and hopefully I'll see you there!

I was introduced to Zootown by a co-worker/friend at a time when my gym buddy had just passed. I was extremely depressed and needed an outlet. The first time I went I was surprised at the warm atmosphere and how I was greeted by all as if they had known me for years. I quickly fell in love and have become an avid crossfitter. I'm still new, but love every moment of it. The team and all there are supportive and cheer each other on. We all celebrate in the successes and support each other through the process. Every new accomplishment is met with an astounding cheer from all present followed by applause. You won't find that at any other gym. Thank you Zootown Crossfit!!!

I can't say enough great things about this gym. The owners/trainers have a true passion for helping people of all levels obtain and even surpass their fitness goals.
