I unfortunately only got to come here once during a business trip, but it is a great gym.

Rope, autobelay and bouldering. One of the best kids areas I've seen. Like the chairs made out of crash pads.

I agreed with the grading levels. I always like gyns that do a tbd for a minute, had plenty available.

Slabs had lot of traversey, technical options. They also have a little top out area on part of it. Autobelay rputes were great - loved a few mystery ones. The walls are short because of the building height but just means you have to climb more!

I had previously strained some pulleys so I had to take it easy, but I really liked the environment here. A few puppers laying around, relaxed people, kids enjoying an actual equipped kids area.

I highly recommend. A humble and friendly place.

Unfortunately, every time I am in town and visit this place, the setting is worse than the last. Probably the only gym I've gone to that has never evolved over the years and instead kept going downhill. If you're an actual climber, you can tell that the setters have zero to little experience outside of this gym. This place needs help real bad with the setting. But, when in Omaha, beggars can't be choosers. Hope this place finds better and experienced setters.

I put my account on freeze a few months ago. My card was stolen so I canceled it. I forgot about the freeze until I saw that a denied charge tried to come through on my account. I went in 11 or 12 days ago and filled out the form to cancel the membership completely. Today I get a denied charge request for the full membership this month plus late fees plus the freeze amount. Im ok paying the frozen amount that was denied but I shouldn't have to pay for the full month this month. I called, and said I shouldn't have to pay for the full month but the response was "you signed a membership". Be careful, they have you freeze your account then you forget a bout it and boom, charge you full amount. Almost like they want you to forget about the freeze, interesting. Then, after or conversation they conviently emailed me the contract, very professional.

I’d really rate this 4.5 stars. The instructors and feel of the place is mostly welcoming. There’s probably some more things they could do to make it more sociable, and interactive. For one, they could have a few more auto-belay courses. Of course, I couldn’t participate in half of the activities here because part of it was closed down due to an upcoming tournament. Also, I swear this place is bigger on the inside. Seriously.

This place is a blast, friendly staff and environment. If you're a parent I would definitely plan on climbing with the kids, was fun to compete and you will probably hold your own as the kids get tired fast here, about an hour and they were pooped.

I love climbing here and I may get a membership soon. A taller top-rope section would be nicer, and a pulley system would make belaying safer. It's also a little pricey. But the routes are fun and have varied difficulties. The bouldering area is quite nice and the staff is always friendly.

Super friendly staff! It's the first time I've ever tried climbing, so I paid for the intro class with my husband. There is an extra charge for shoes and harnesses (unless it's the intro class, those are included), and I'm not sure if it ever gets too busy. We (the class participants) took up almost half of the ropes on the main wall. But we would like to go back! I'm motivated to improve at the beginner's sections.

I booked the Intro to Climbing class for 5 boys ages 11 and 12. They had a fabulous time. The instructor was great with the boys and very supportive of their efforts. I would definitely recommend this course and facility!

Great staff and solid facility. Decent bouldering, flooring, training equipment and snacks. Good campus board (i.e., currently the only public board for 100s of miles). The lead and top rope facilities are rather limited being small and short otherwise a good gym. No public WiFi.

Note, as a Boulder, CO resident my standards are very high. This is a great gym for the Midwest.

I reserved a timed ticket for my 5 year old online a few days in advance. I was not told until my arrival that the kids climbing area was booked for a birthday party, so her only option was to try out the larger walls meant for more experienced climbers. The staff was excellent, kind and very helpful. But when I'm paying $30 for a small kid, I'd prefer to know ahead of time that the kids area isn't going to be an option. She still had fun but got frustrated and intimated. I think she would've enjoyed her time more if she could've experienced the kids area first before progressing to the more challenging walls.

Came here for a visit while I was in town on business. Google says this is the premier climbing gym in Omaha... highly disagree. First of all, they advertised having 12 auto-belay lanes for solo climbing, and they only had... maybe six? The building they are in isn't very tall, so all tall routes are only maybe 15-20 feet tall at most. They're more like advanced Boulder problems than proper tall routes. Routes are color graded, which is fine, but took a little getting used to.
I showed up at 7, and the employee at the front desk made sure to tell me multiple times that they closed at 8, so "are you sure you wanna climb?" After getting the safety brief I was released to do my thing. At approximately 755, I finished and started removing gear to leave. Right at 8, a number of people were showing up and putting on harnesses and just starting their climbs. So wait, you close at 8, but only for me? No clue what that was all about.
I did not use the bouldering area, so I can't comment on that side. Seemed okay though.
Overall, pretty unimpressed. I thought that being on a time crunch would make it so I would have to rush through climbs, but with so little to climb by myself, I ran out of routes in maybe 30 minutes. Will not be coming back.

Such a bummer, but even after I paid $3 for a tour (never heard of such a thing), I was let down by the boring routes. Adding a dyno isn’t the only way to make something a V7. The holds were also the same for an entire route: all crimps; all jugs; all blocks; all pockets. Total let down, I’ll hit Mahoney State Park next time.

You can tell the setters put so much care and effort into their craft! The routes provide a great deal of variety, challenge, & fun! I have traveled to a couple big gyms within the US and their setting holds up to a standard that is equal to some of the biggest gyms in the US.

The top rope walls, despite being small, have some cool stuff up still!

From the few times ive gotten to talk to the setters they have been quite helpful & kind when asking about their routes.

Setting is great and route setting is important too, but of course the front desk staff is really amazing and everything about this place is really special.

I love this climbing gym, so much so that I got a membership there! It is extremely high quality and super fun for all climbers. They also label each one in difficulty which is great for someone who wants to work at getting better so they can see their progress or work towards a route. It also includes a weight room and other various climbing exercises to help improve your skills and muscles. My only gripe would be the price of the membership, but that may only be because I haven't had it for very long. To be fair they give discounts for veterans, students, and other titles which is great. Plus you can rent at a discounted price with a membership. Also they change a section of each wall every week keeping the routes fresh. All and all, it's a really awesome climbing gym and the staff is super welcoming so way to go Approach and Team.

If you have done rock climbing before, than I don't need to tell you how much fun it is. If don't, you gotta know that is hard, but not impossible. You are going to find routes from beginners to pros. There is bouldering area (the one with the mattress on the floor) and top rope. Doing rock climbing is going to excercise all you upper body, legs and specially, your fingers and forearms.

It's definitely the best rock climbing gym in Omaha, partially it's the only rock climbing gym in Omaha. The bouldering section is awesome, it's friendly to beginners, but has plenty of challenging problems for more seasoned climbers. The top roping is nice with plenty of auto-belays but can lack the bit of variety you might find in a larger or more top rope/lead focused gym. Just a side note, there weren't very many spots to lead but that won't bother most people. The pricing was fairly competitive for the size of the gym. No gym is perfect but this one hits all the big marks. A definite recommendation...

Went last night with my son and brother in law. We had a blast! The staff was friendly and took us through orientation quickly and safely. We divided up our time between bouldering (no harness, not as tall walls) and climbing with one of the eight auto-belays (strapped into a harness, taller walls, if you fall off, the belay device stops your fall and slowly lowers you down.) A good mix of people were there, from climbing enthusiasts, families, and couples on dates. Everyone was supportive and respectful of each other's place on the wall, with people cheering others on when they progressed up a difficult route.

While I'm a little sore today, I had a great time and will definitely be back.

Love this gym. Obviously, the walls aren't as tall as UNL or Mahoney, but the setting makes up for it. The holds are all really unique, and the setters make really cool routes, even the so-called beginner routes are unique (most gyms set really boring ones).
Every singles one of the staff is a sweetheart, happy to talk gear and beta if you ask. I love the pups that come in! Good dogs!
I actually really like that the grades are more ambiguous, because I'm more likely to try routes way out of my comfort zone if I'm not looking at the exact grading.

Members only climbing on holidays is a strange restriction, and makes no sense. I understand punch cards carry over but if you’re on a climbing schedule it’s inconvenient. And I’m sure there’s plenty of space for more climbers.

Facility is nice. Overhang is limited since it’s so low to the ground. The set currently is okay. Mix between dynamic and static climbing. Could def use some larger volumes to create more interesting climbs. Amazing and friendly staff. The grading is in sections which feels a little lazy to me. Compared to grading something specifically V7 or V9. Store is nicely decked out. Could sell some cheaper chalk.

I’m comparing this to the touchstone branch in CA which is my home gym. Our membership is significantly more expensive so for the price I think it’s definitely worth it. I’m just sad entire days are blocked out and I have to train on monkey bars in the cold.
