Don’t count on this place to actually be open on time every morning like they’re suppose to. There has been too many times where myself among many others sit there for an hour after opening time and nobody shows up. Along with the fact that there hot tub and saunas always seem to be having issues. This place is completely unreliable and overpriced. The locker rooms are always filthy and the drains never properly screwed on. People at the front desk are just always on their phones. Our kid was getting mistreated in childcare and the “teacher” was just so rude. Also the childcare hours were always short and not even all five days a week.

*Update to there reply people who threaten harassment are the ones trying to scare people from telling the truth and it’s funny how I post ONE bad review and suddenly it’s harassment and yes I tried to dispute with bank bc they charged me the wrong amount and refuse to fix I told my bank to fix it to the right amount not completely dispute it and they know that. I have been there twice in the afternoon and childcare wasn’t open. A few times in the mornings and whoever was suppose to open was late waited a while and gave up bc we had to get ready for work. We know others who are regulars and also religiously there at 4:30 as well who can back us up. As the childcare concerns I brought it up to them multiple times and was brushed off. Also not an unhappy person just someone steering people clear of a bad business. There’s such thing as freedom of speech and one comment isn’t harassment!

I love this gym, it’s family run. Weight room is stocked well, it has a your normal fitness equipment, an indoor swimming pool and an outdoor swimming pool in the summer. They also have a sauna, hot tub and my favorite a steam room. They also have classes you can attend with no additional cost as far as I am aware of.

This gym was an amazing find, the weight room has everything I need for my workouts and more and it’s never packed so I don't have to wait for machines. The sauna and indoor pool/ hot tubs are also a great addition to the whole experience.

I love this gym so much! It is a smaller gym and there are most definitely many times I come and it is slow to where I can use multiple machines at one time to superset and not feel bad at all that I'm taking from others. They're always trying to make the gym better. As all gyms do there is construction and upkeep which is proof that they are trying to take care of the upkeep. Sadens me when I see people coming on making negative remarks about such a good gym. It is family ran and they definitely care for their customers! The daycare is amazing and there is always someone That is going to sit down and play with my daughter so I feel like she's in a good safe environment. They have daycare hours Monday through Friday at a good time and I always feel comfortable leaving my child there. Something I most definitely am not comfortable with at other gyms that I've been to and the reason why I did leave. This is a comfortable gym and you would be silly to read negative reviews from mean people and make quick judgments without the checking them out for yourself. Keep up the good work Capital!!! The mean people can go on their way. Have fun at corporate ran YMCA with the children employees that definitely don't care. I'll give my money to my local gym!! ;)

I toured a few gyms before returning to this location. I've come here on and off for over a decade. I appreciate the consistency, diversity in age and culture, and that everyone is respectful of each other. I haven't made it back to a class but will try one when I can. The price is on point and fair. I appreciate the current owner and I'm glad I was able to return. I have a extensive set up at home, but enjoy getting out of the house to push myself without home distractions.

I have been going to this gym on and off for the last 8 years. The staff does a great job and I love the amenities. Back in 2019 the new owners saved this gym from a shut down and that was great. Our experience not too bad. When we had a membership the girls bathroom showers were getting remodeled. The hot tub is a bit of a challenge to get to as the stairs are not the easiest to use.

The swimming pool gets crowded very fast and is not very deep.

Some of the staff seemed to be paying attention to their cell phones quie a bit while on duty although they were friendly and polite with customers.

The building is old but functional. WouId have liked it to be more updated.
We do like that the extra workout classes are all included in the price where ymca probably charges extra.

I really like this new gym I'm at Capitol Athletic Club. A family business and both really nice people and super helpful. The first evening I was there the husband turned me on to a machine I've never used before but works great for getting my legs and shape. I really need that and with other personable amenities I feel like I've made a great investment in a health club.

If you’re looking to include swimming pool workouts then this is NOT the place for it. This gym turned into a “Parents bring kids to gym” which means you will NOT have peaceful swimming pool workouts. Many of the adults will watch their children jumping into the pool, screaming, running etc and the stuff won’t say anything either. If you’re looking for a gym with swimming pool I HIGHLY suggest YMCA. The stuff at YMCA actually cares about each of their members and make sure everyone is happy while working out.

Though it seems they are making improvements, it seems like something is always.out of order. This week they have started remodeling the women's showers so they are not usable. They did this to the men's and we're still waiting for the shower walls months later. Hot tub is frequently out of order.

*Today I waited 20 minutes after workout for the shower, because only one shower was working of total of four showers in men side.

*There are alive bugs in the men shower.

* The sanitation is so poor in the men shower/restroom.

* Towels are disgusting- they are supposed to be white towels but they are brownish look like they just got them from the mechanic shop.

After days of not getting a response to sign up for services by email, I called to see if I could sign up over my lunch hour. When I arrived, after getting my name/address/phone number, I was immediately given a waiver of liability document to sign, which seemed to be weird timing and weird priority for her over, oh I don't know, explaining services that come with the membership, about their facility, general pleasantries that normally accompany signing new business. The document was clear that I would be signing over all liability including their negligence. When I expressed that I felt concerned, she was dismissive, despite literally reading the document as proof what she was telling me was false. She then said she would call someone for more information, and while it was dialing she said to me, "honestly, IM a little worried that you're asking about suing US," to which I just walked out of her office. The lack of professionalism was astounding. She then called a few minutes later and doubled down on contradicting what the document meant and how unusual it was to be asked about it (she said I was her first in 8 years!). I gave her a chance to apologize and she was still rude and aggressively dismissive, taking zero accountability. I finally had to stop her to get off the phone. While waivers are not uncommon, and I've definitely signed plenty of them over the years, the timing of when the waiver was presented, how bold the waiver was, and that when I questioned if the language of the waiver was industry standard, Renee was hostile and verbally contradictive to the waiver itself, which I found to be predatory and dishonest. I was really excited to find a gym downtown (and originally just wanted to sign up for New Gen Fitness due to proximity to work). What a bizarre disappointment.

I joined Prairie Life to play racquetball. I'm always able to get a court. Plus when I aggrevated my knee and couldn't play for a while, they had equipment I could use to stay active without further hurting my knee.
The staff is terrific.... Pleasant, interested in me. The manager knows me by name.... From day one.

It has what you need if you know what you're doing. If not, there's either classes you can participate in or pay a personal trainer to show you what to do. I recommend April's classes if you wanna see results and are willing to put the work in. Rachel's classes are good too.

There's a decent amount this location offers, but it's the smallest one out of all the Lincoln and omaha locations, so keep that in mind. It's 24/7 but not Friday or Saturday. At time of writing, there's a couple guys on staff there after midnight that do a great job. Also much quieter than other locations, and super chill after midnight. Different vibe than the other locations, for the better.

I had my credit card stolen and my automatic payment lapsed. Instead of notifying me and working with me to get my automatic payment corrected, I was charged some pretty hefty late fees. I decided to quit after that and instead joined another gym with no monthly contract. Pretty ridiculous...
