Any gym can have equipment and offer workouts. What separates Capital City Fitness from other gyms is our coaching and culture. The most important part of our gym is its motivational approach and family environment. At Capital City Fitness, we know if you don’t have fun and enjoy the training, you won’t do it. Our programs are not designed as a sport or competition, but focuses on you competing against and bettering your body, mind and spirit.

Coach Mike is phenomenal at leading fun and engaging workouts. He helps you gauge where you are at and walks you along the process of getting stronger at your own rate. He is very actively involved in teaching proper form and helps you build your success in smart ways. There are different challenges to get involved in if you wish to participate in them so there are different goals for different people to work on. He is super encouraging with a daily message for healthy habits and high fives all around. If I can do it, you can do it!

I have been coming to capital city fitness for 5 years now. I love that I can walk in and not have to think about anything. Mike has the workouts prepared and all you have to do is follow instructions. The people who go here are fantastic and have become my friends. I can’t imagine going anywhere else! Not to mention I’m seeing great results after lifting heavy weights for 5 years. I’ve never been stronger!

I joined Capital City in 2020 as many gyms were closing down. Coach Mike adapted to ensure individuals were able to stay on track with their health through virtual training, park workouts and eventually distancing as needed.
The coaches continually go above and beyond. From the community inside the dojo to the outreach they do outside the gym, I cannot say enough. I appreciate the monthly focuses on ways to increase our health outside the gym, not only physically, but also mentally.
Recently I went out of town for a biking event and Coach Mike even sent me a list of restaurants in town to help me stay on track with my training! Just wow!
If you want a fitness community that truly cares, come join us at 5am! You won’t regret it!

I 100% promise you won’t regret this choice. Mike and his team make you feel at home (and I’m An introvert!). Before this, I was anti-workout / anti-gym. I lacked confidence and was intimidated. I didn’t think I was gym material. But … I made a bold decision to change and I don’t regret it at all. Everyone should do this! It’s worth everything. Capital City is a place where I feel comfortable, it’s adaptive, and it’s forward focused. They truly care about you, the individual! I’m going to keep going there. I don’t hesitate to say that Mike changed my life for the better. I’m not only fit and strong, but I’ve gained confidence and believe in myself. You can too!

Capital City Fitness & Performance is a very welcoming and supportive place to improve myself not only physically, but mentally and socially as well. The environment is very inclusive, from the coaches to the members. Beginners all the way up to the seasoned members, everyone is treated with respect and encouragement is rampant. Coach Mike does a great job ensuing everyone gets a good workout, regardless of your fitness level, there's a place for you here.
The schedule throughout the week means I'm able to workout before or after work and offers a Saturday option as well.
Overall, this gym has been so much more than what I thought it would be when I first walked through the door. I am stronger and more confident and I would encourage anyone who wants to better themselves to check out Capital City Fitness & Performance!

When I started at this gym in 2019, I had never lifted weights and the idea of a group fitness class seemed super intimidating. This place totally changed my views on fitness. This gym became a part of my daily routine because of the encouraging coaches, students, and environment. It gave me an opportunity to learn how to lift weights safely and effectively, and then to push myself and my body as I grew comfortable. There are always modifications or options to level up movements to challenge every level of student as well as additional monthly focuses to encourage students to improve themselves both inside and outside of the gym. I love how Capital City Fitness also supports the community through charity events, like the annual turkey drive for Thanksgiving.

One year ago today, I stepped foot in Capital City Fitness and have never looked back! One of the easiest and best decisions I’ve ever made was joining Capital City. Coach Mike and his team want to see you achieve your fitness goals and are there to help. In the group classes, Coach Mike, his team of coaches and the other gym members are encouraging, supportive, helpful and the overall culture that has been created in the gym makes for a positive, challenging and rewarding workout. The personal training sessions with Coach Mike help me in building endurance, increasing strength, gaining overall confidence as well as education in nutrition and the importance of having a positive mindset. If you are tired of where your physical training and body shape has gotten to, this gym is the place for you! From the moment I walked through the door some 8 years ago I felt welcomed, encouraged by everyone and gained a new mindset about my fitness. With the help of Owner/Coach Mike Bevard and the rest of his coaching team I have accomplished goals I never would have accomplished on my own. The coaches help me with physical and nutritional motivation. I enjoy the class setting and not having to figure out what I should do next. The atmosphere of encouragement over competition is a big plus…I don’t feel intimidated. Don’t be nervous, just start!

I was already working out regularly at home before I joined 6 months ago and thought I was doing pretty well, but Capital City has provided the encouraging group atmosphere that has pushed me to improve my fitness even further. I didn’t necessarily have much weight to lose when I started, but within the first 3 months my body fat percentage decreased by 2% and I can see a significant difference in my endurance and strength. All the coaches are great, and the owner, Coach Mike has a particular gift of meeting each person where they’re at and lifting them up with encouragement and kindness. I love the atmosphere he’s created among the members and the opportunities to do things for the community along the way. At home I just worked out to get it done and over with, but now I look forward to the workouts and miss them when I’m not able to attend.

The moment we walked in the door on our first day, we were greeted by coaches and all of the class attendees who introduced themselves and looked happy to be there! From that day forward, all of the coaches have shown interest in learning who I am and what my goals are. The needs vary for all of us and modifications are offered to up your game or tone it down. There is a big sense of community and family that I love. I now look forward to getting out of bed early to head to the gym – a new experience for me. Above all, I appreciate Coach Mike Bevard’s care and willingness to help me navigate my #1 concern which is long term pelvic floor care after a PF injury 5 years ago. I have been training with Mike Bevard, who founded Capital City Fitness and Performance since 2006. My fitness journey started with physical weakness due to multiple surgeries for possible breast and uterine cancer risks which I avoided with medical intervention, the constancy of physical training and a healthy lifestyle. The coaching staff at Capital City Fitness and Performance reinforce a healthy lifestyle which is crucial to my on-going health and strength. I have many friends through this gym that are valuable to me. My current fitness journey includes age-related osteoporosis, but training with Mike and the other coaches, I am able to keep this risk low. My doctor told me yesterday that the physical exertion I do in and out of the gym and the weight training I experience weekly at Capital City Fitness greatly help to keep osteoporosis damage risk low. Training with Capital City Fitness and Performance is a way of life for me and I value it greatly. It's fun to be fit and healthy.

I have been to several gyms in town and I have never felt as motivated, encouraged or equipped as I do training at Capital City Fitness. It is unlike any other “gym”! Excellent coaching & realistic nutrition assistance are a given, but they also do an incredible job at demonstrating & stressing the importance of correct form & always provide modifications if you need them. Having fit ranks & several challenges to push ourselves ensures it never gets boring & there’s always something to strive for or get better at! I also love the life-encouragement at the end of each training session & how they love to give back to the community whether through raising money or serving hands on! Which leads me to the people… The community at Capital City is unlike any other! Everyone is so genuinely helpful & encouraging, and are like a 2nd family!

Best gym in Lincoln. Mike, Sarah and Rick all really care about every individual who walks through the door, their specific fitness goals, and helping them get there. The support with nutrition, the free A.R.T. sessions on Wednesdays, and the giving back to charity workouts are all nice perks to go with a great support network from everyone who works out here.
