This club has lots of classes that are free with membership. This club recently underwent a massive renovation. It offers indoor and outdoor pools, racquetball, basketball, yoga, and lots of other programs.

I had someone drop off a gym trial offer at my job from genesis.I previously left a larger nationwide known gym as I really struggled with finding gym equipment available and I was super new to working out and asking for guidance or form help was impossible. I normally do not have to wait for equipment at genesis at all, if I do it’s never for a long period of time and I’m able to use a different piece of equipment while I wait. When starting at genesis I got 3 free training sessions where I learned so much and really shaped my workouts. The q street is my favorite. I love the shake bar, it’s my favorite part. Especially when I need some extra protein to fuel my workout or after. Having access to a sauna, and jacuzzi in the women’s restroom is something I look forward to after my workout where I can decompress after a long day. It’s a wonderful atmosphere, I’m always greeted when I walk in.

I have been going to this gym for over 17 years and I want to give a "Shout Out" for all the water aerobic teachers and management. Sidney is a great manager. She listens to us and makes sure we enjoy coming to the gym.

After my knee replacement and some recovery, I started taking water aerobics to help with getting back to swimming again. The ladies who teach these classes are amazing! The classes are all different which makes exercise very enjoyable. It makes a person want to exercise. I am so grateful that I can swim laps again!

The whole gym has very good equipment for all types of exercises. I would never leave this gym because it is the Best Gym Ever!

I have been a at this gym for more than 2 years. I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2011. I was hesitant about going to a gym, but knew I needed too.This gym has been great for me, I have benefited and my condition is way better now! I have been curious about personal training, but I have questions, recently I met Mika, she introduced herself and let me know, she is in charge of the personal trainers. She asked me if I had any questions. She has taken the time to answer EVERY question I have asked her. She is very personable, she made me feel comfortable about my questions. I am an older guy, so I don't usually do these review things. But, I wanted someone to know, my gym questions have been answered and Mika has made my gym experience better!!

I live close by, I’ve been looking for a gym, and after 20-30 minutes trying to figure out the membership price I gave up and call. Well, the person that picked up the phone told me literally:”we don’t give prices until you come to the gym and talk to a manager”. Not sure what to say at this club. Shoes and socks seem to be optional anymore. This is all over the gym regardless of upper body or lower body. Mentioned this a couple of times to staff. I feel for saftey and cleanliness this should be the minimum standard for a healthy club.

Update. Management reached out. Sounds like they will be working with folks to help them understand the requirements of a safe health club experience. This is all that is required, to keep things reasonably clean and safe for all. Thank you managers.

It’s always a pleasure coming to this Genesis. Misty, Jason, Lindsey, Sydney, and Lynda are always friendly faces to greet me at the door! Lindsey has become a master shake artist. I’m always so grateful for the hard work they put in folding towels for us.

I really enjoy the water Zumba class with Gulya, she does an incredible job.

I grew up being made fun of because of the way my body looked. I was always so self conscious of my body which prevented me from wanting to do things to take care of it. Now I’ve given up on being self conscious and began to enjoy taking care of my body.

I have autism and a lot of childhood PTSD. I have operated a lawn service for many years. I used my business to stuff away all the pain of my communication issues and difficulty with PTSD.

It worked for a time but after so many years of overworking myself with my business, my excessive isolation with work has finally caught up to me. I’ve really been hoping for some way that I can be paid to take care of myself and my mental health now. Instead of needing to go back to my business to make money, which will most likely cause another “bipolar” episode. Don’t even get me started on that part.

The point is, I overworked myself because I have so much difficulty with social skills and communicating with people and fitting into society. I’ve greatly improved my social and communication skills but my business has become too lonely and too fast paced for me now.

Thanks for the kindness the staff at Genesis has shown me since I started coming. Kind people seem to be very difficult to find for some reason.

This is incredibly sad to post but we were lifelong members at this site starting when it was Prairie Life and we have been incredibly patient with renovations and equipment issues and pool issues. Pools across the Omaha metro area for Genesis continually have issues with algae, dirt, green-slime on the pool floor, and are kept incredibly cold even after multiple complaints to staff. It’s not just the pool water being cold either, it doesn’t seem like they even do much to heat the room the pool is kept in. It is to the point an entire workout group is contemplating leaving to a different local gym that keeps their pools cleaner and warmer.

Unfortunately money talks, and I seriously doubt Genesis will make any changes to their pool management in the Omaha clubs (Platinum level clubs no less) even when a group of 20+ long time members leave for the YMCA. Go spend your New Years Resolution elsewhere and spend your cash somewhere where they strive to improve facilities and not just give lip service when complaints are routinely made over the course of 16+ months at multiple Omaha Genesis locations by multiple people from this group.

Terrible maintenance of this gym - something is ALWAYS broke. I’m here for my first workout of 2025 and within the first 5 minutes of being in the doors, 2 basic gym necessities are broken - the water filling station on the lower floor next to the snack bar and one of the treadmills. See photo - couldn’t even get a minute in. It’s not just this treadmill - multiples are always broken. You’d think they’d want things working for new members joining in 2025.

The WORST part is that I was here a month ago (before a month of travel around the holidays) and had the EXACT same experience with the exact same equipment - evidence that they clearly aren’t doing regular upkeep.

Wish this would have stayed a clean, well maintained gym as it was when it was prairie life. The only reason I keep my membership is because it is in my neighborhood. Would not waste your money if you have another option.

I have been a member of 84th and Q for years. The facility is recently remodeled, looks great. Besides the excercises equipment, I love the group classes,their yoga barre and strength are awesome! Love that they have indoor and outdoor pools so I can swim all year round. My special treat is their hot tub/ sauna area. I use them even if I don’t work out. The staff s always helpful and friendly with a hello evertime i come in.

Lowering my rating. Still being stopped at the front desk to check my membership status after I scan my card. Get rid of the stupid home gym rule! Update 7-16-24 I enjoy the outdoor pool and the steam room works amazingly. However, the management forces the employees to harass customers coming into the gym. There is this horrible policy that you have to pay extra if you're not at your home gym. My home gym on 132nd and Center has been torn to hell for too long. When I get asked about my membership it just rehashes the frustration all of the delays at both Q Street location in the past, and currently with the Center Street location. End this policy as of way to say sorry we botched the renovations so badly.

First off the people at this gym are super friendly and the equipment is great. The main issue is the new Indian fitness advisor. He has some sort of superiority complex that needs to get fixed and he also has very bad breath which I noticed and tried to distance myself however he weirdly kept on getting closer, most of the front desk staff are great however the woman who brings in her kids to the front desk and lets them walk over the towels kept on interrupting me when I was trying to ask about the pool area. They need to do something about the track area, it shouldn’t be for running as it is already a small place. There are TREADMILLS for that! I cannot tell you how many times in the past month since I’ve joined I’ve seen either this one tall old lady or this short Asian guy push people out of the way like they own the place! I’ve complained to the club manager but she seems to care more about the kids she brought to work than her actual work!

I love this gym for upper body days. Has 4 towers of cables, has 4 flat benches, 3 incline, Tons of dumbbells all the way to 125lbs. It has other machines that are for upper body. I especially like the hammer strength like machines that are for back and you put weights. They have 4 varied back machines like that. The squat platforms are nice too.
My kids love the daycare there because they have the nicest and most caring caretakers I've seen in a daycare gym. They treat my kids like family and my kids love going there. They play games, they do crafts, they dance, they listen to music, they watch movies, etc.

If you are a woman considering this gym, I would advise against talking to Leo. I have been working on both weightlifting and strength training for months now, and was interested in seeing the new facility here. Leo couldn't seem to grasp the fact that I would be interested in anything other than yoga or pilates. My roommate also uses this same facility and Leo said “you may call yourselves roommates, but I call you sweetie pies…”
I really expected a less misogynistic experience especially from someone so high up in management. To me, a gym is a place I go to better myself, not be put down by the guy in charge.
All things considered; the new equipment and gym is extremely nice. I just didn’t expect to be treated the way I was.

Since I've been a member of Genesis Health Clubs - 84th & Q Street, I've had nothing but positive experiences. This place has incredibly nice and friendly staff. Only sat in the parking lot for a few minutes....quarantined! Club is now open again and remodeled, looks pretty good. New equipment. I think like every fitness center, the equipment needs to be on a timely maintenance program to keep the equipment working as members expect.

Morning staff extremely friendly, clean most machines always working properly only reason not 5 star is just because they recently decided to restrict towels to one per guest. Other than that I'd say the #1 Genesis location In OMAHA & I've been to 90% of them.

There is a very racist manager named Leo he spoke to me and my mom in a very racist manner this left us in shock so we left instead of trying to register for a membership.

Enjoy this Genesis the best out of all the Omaha gyms. It is very clean and welcoming. Staff are friendly and helpful. Equipment is up to date and well maintained. The variety of workouts allow for whole body health. I especially enjoy the pool. Best of all the Genesis gyms in our area. The manager Leo is super helpful. Made us a shake once when the staff was out!

I’ve been coming here for a year now. This place really set the standard for what a gym should be. I recently went to “a different gym” to workout with a friend from work. I started with Genesis just a few weeks ago and have loved it since. Ben was super helpful getting me set up and Kolby (personal trainer) was great as well getting me started on my fitness journey. Love it so much I added my kids so we can make it family thing!

This gym has its issues that I can definitely deal with. However the one thing that really upsets me is the towel situation. They do not have enough! You have steam saunas, pools, hot tubs, showers, and regular saunas. Everytime I come there is never enough towels for the guest. Stock up on enough towels to accommodate your paying guests.

We enjoy our extra time at this gym especially during the summer that kids out of school. We like to do the outdoor activities like swimming so, since they have the outdoor swimming pool as well as indoor and it meets our needs! I am glad that they offer the family plan so kids come too. So far we love it and it’s worth it!

I started my membership here at the top of the year, my fear was that because of the hours I work would interfere with my membership and plan to get fit. Well my fear was realized overnight shift with emergencies caused me to miss a lot of scheduled appointments. However Genesis never missed a withdrawal. So I received a call today, I was asked if I could make up a payment for April, I told the person that called and asked if payment is more important than a member not using the facilities for 6 months. So I told them that they should consider the call for payment my call for termination of membership. She told me that she could take a payment but, I would have to email the company manager. WOW

Moved here from Germany and we just wanted a gym with a nice sauna. With the new renovation, it is definitely more new but it is still lacking that extra-ness you’d expect with the price. The upstairs fitness area is small as compared to maybe the one on Cass but the equipment is new. The main thing that bothers me is all the fluorescent white lights in the workout areas. Please dim them, or switch them for more warm lighting. Especially in the sauna, just make it dark in there like the steam sauna. I expected a little more but we got got so what can you do.

Pretty relaxed atmosphere. I like to do cardio on the track. It definitely beats going on the treadmills! Locker rooms have built-in lock, so you don't have to bring one every time you go. P.S. They have a LOT of dumbells, really good for those of you who need dumbells heavier than 100lbs

This location SUCKS!!! They charge more for the exact level of customer service the other locations give, which is low. My biggest problem is their sauna’s are so low efficiency. They sit at 120 degrees or less when an EFFECTIVE sauna works from 160-180 degrees! And the heater isn’t even guarded! What happens if someone slips or falls and burns themselves on an unprotected unit?
