This is a great gym, the environment is very friendly. The people that run it are amazing very friendly. For a 40 year old gym it's in really great. The only reason it is getting 3 stars is it would be nice to get a couple more adjustable benchs and another larger sitting bench for the guys' locker rooms as people leave their clothes and bags on the bench

Great gym. Very nice people who run it and it's 24/7. Only real drawback is the dog hair. They clean daily but they have several big dogs that roam the gym during daytime hours. It's been around for 40 years but most of the equipment is pretty modern with a few pieces that are very unique. Great selection of free weights and machines.

Members don’t follow the rules. It’s a pain to do the 30 min express work out cause the rules aren’t followed. Complain to staff and the do nothing about it. Signs are posted about the rules and how to do it, but staff does nothing to enforce them.
Machines are always broken and take weeks to get fixed. Not enough machines.

Health Plex is the best 24-hour gym in town! From cardio machines, weight machines, free weights, outdoor space, sauna... you can do it all here! The facility is clean and well-kept. I love all the paintings on the wall. The staff is incredibly friendly and always encouraging!

My review is based on experiences from many years ago. When I cancelled my membership the employee in charge of it at the time did not execute the cancellation resulting in continued withdraws from my account. I had a discussion with the owner Scott Norton where no resolution to the matter was achieved. At the time, you'd sign in upon entering. Taking that into consideration along with the fact that he hadn't seen me there for nearly five months, I figured there could be a resolution to the matter. I never got a dime back of the $435 or so I was charged. He rarely made a favorable impression with me. I personally found the guy to be rather arrogant. I don't know how the facility is now or what the upgrades have been. The ceilings used to be filthy and the men's locker room/shower area was not well kept. Similar with the machines and equipment. Grungy and unclean. I thought that the weight lifting and strength training machine options were better than than the cardiovascular ones. It used to be the only show in town. At any rate, following how I was treated after having been a loyal member I advised the owner that I would never return to his establishment and I haven't. You'll have to check it out and judge for yourself. Make sure to read your contract thoroughly so there's no issues there. Don't assume the employee is going to follow through on what's been agreed to would be my advice as ownership didn't accept responsibility for what transpired with my experience.

HealthPlex is an excellent gym. I trained there for a week while visiting Grand Island. It has everything I needed to continue my bodybuilding contest prep from free weights & machines to stairclimbers. The decor is motivating,too. I highly recommend this gym.

If you’re planning on getting a membership to the Health Plex, then be prepared to get more than just a gym. This place has the friendliest staff and members in the area. The first day I signed up at the Health Plex I was greeted by Scott (owner) while working out and I’ve never felt more welcomed into a facility than I did that day. Him and his staff go the extra mile to make you feel as if you’re part of a family rather than just a gym. The Health Plex is spacious with a wide variety of equipment to hit all the muscle groups just right. As if all that isn’t enough….. there’s this guy!

Best gym ever honestly, I have never been to a gym that has an environment and staff like this. Everyone is super friendly and personable. Scott takes the time to truly learn about his members and always greets everyone with a smile 😊

I have been a member since the club started out on the Hwy., so I honestly have never been to another gym. But to me, that speaks volumes. Thru the years Scott has worked tirelessly to make the whole “gym experience” a positive one. I have seen many, many upgrades thru the years, and Scott has always had the best interests of his members at heart. Sure there might be some who are dissatisfied, but there’s always two sides to the coin. People come and people go. But where the gym is now, is head and shoulders above any other gym or fitness center in town. The staff at HP is always looking out for the best interests of its members and everyone is treated fairly. With all the upgrades now, equipment, floors, sauna, facelifts…. It’s a gym for the people!!! Keep up the good work, and here’s to another 40 years, can’t wait to see what’s it store for the future Scott !!!!

Best gym in town! For only 25$ a month I get 24/7 access to everything I could ever need. Tons of cardio machines, free weights and racks for squatting, functional room and even a brand new sauna. The owner Scott along with Sam and Shari are just amazing. They keep the gym clean and orderly. They continue to make the gym better and better, making it a joy showing up.

Amazing gym, in the year i’ve gone to this gym it has recieved tons of upgrades and innovations such as a new sauna, lockers, squat rack, and more. The staff is very passionate about this gym and are very nice. A good amount of equipment for lifting weights, cardio, etc etc, great environment and wouldn’t go to any other gym.

I love the Health Plex for many reasons, but at the top of my list would be the community of people. The staff is extremely welcoming and members are respectful of one another and equipment. This gym is by far the best gym in Grand Island and one of the best gyms in the states. I have traveled all over the U.S. and been to the best of the best. This is still by far my favorite. If you see any bad reviews on here they have to be fake or other gyms in the area. Scott has developed a concept that very few gyms have. The minute you walk into this gym and go to the back it gives you that feeling. Most gyms today are bland and unmotivating. This gym is something special! 10/10

To say this is a great gym with all the equipment and a phenomenal staff would be an understatement! The owner Scott is often on site and very friendly. The equipment is well kept and the gym has a sense of community. We were in town for just a couple of weeks and they were willing to work with us on a temporary membership which was very kind. Highly recommend this gym over any chain I've ever been to.

I joined Health Plex over three years ago wanting to improve my overall fitness level and reach new goals. I have gotten so much more than what I expected with my membership!
All staff members and very helpful, friendly, respectful, offer a wide range of expertise and I’m ALWAYS greeted with a “Hi, how are you?” when I walk through the door! If I need assistance with anything while I am there it is taken care of immediately and with a smile! 😃. I have come to feel like part of a large gym family that is just as excited for me to meet my goals as I am!!
The facility has plenty of cardio equipment of all types available to use, even when it’s a busy time of day. (I usually arrive at 5:30-6pm). Free weights and so many options of various types of other equipment are also available to use and all in good working order. The functional room is great open space to do classes offered, or make up your own workouts.
There have been many updates the past 6 months that have made this gym a great place to work out...fresh painted walls...fun tastefully done graffiti...reupholstered benches...another full set of free weights...the women’s locker room has more new benches and locker space available for day use or to rent.
I love to use the available dry sauna and tanning that is included in the price of the monthly membership! Everything is always clean, well maintained and ready for anyone to use!
There isn’t a better gym option in Grand Island in my oponion! THANK YOU Healrh Plex!!
