I love MW climbing! I have had a membership for about two years. The coffee here is great, the bouldering is fun and the gym area is clean and has everything I need. I love attending the yoga classes and all the people (staff and fellow climbers) are always friendly and nice!

Ive been coming here for 2 years with a break in the middle because i lived in another state for a bit. I loved it almost the entire time, although lately the service has been getting horrible. The gym has a calendar on the wall of upocoming events and such, they used to have their setting dates on the calendar as well. Ever since I came back from colorado it has been missing. I asked myself why this happened and it took me until now to figure it out, its because they dont want to be dependent for their poor setting times and ideas. Dont get me wrong I love climbing here and the climbs I feel like are on par with some gyms in Colorado so the setting is fine, more so the frequency and quantity. They used to have it on the calendar that they set every thursday 9-2, nowadays they set some thursdays and then sometimes not they set one wall or over half the gym. Nothing is consistent and its hardly even worth going sometimes. I climb anywhere between v6-8 not only did they skip a week of setting 2 weeks ago, they also set only 1 6-7 and nothing higher on the most recent set. Which just puts me in a boring 2 week rotation with no new climbs. So today which should be setting day (although thats never promised anymore) i come after 2pm to hopefully climb the new set i bring my girlfriend and give her my free once a month guest pass and theyre setting over half the walls. Not only did I waste my time coming in that day I wasted my guest pass and me and my girlfriend were upset over it. We were even there til 4pm and they still werent finished and thats not even the worst part. I ask one of the employees who by the way is super nice everyone there is nice if I could climb one of the walls with NO ropes around it and NOBODY working on it and he said no. Then what do i see, other non employees ( around 4 non employees) climbing on the new walls helping set climbs and other things. Why?? Because gym staff likes them more than everyone else who pays the same amount for a membership. I saw another frequent climber climbing on one of the walls they were setting that had NO employees in the area and someone walked over just to tell him to stop then went back to work on other climbs, the wall seemed to be completely finished. This is insanity not only do they favor climbers who arent even old enough to work there but they also are setting more than half the gym with no warning, blocking off entire sections without even putting effort into setting them ( that seem to be finished), taking significantly longer than they should to set, and also not setting consistently. If you climb here you should expect to 1. not have a weekly set 2. Be considered lesser than some of the climbers there 3. Not be allowed to climb unattended walls that arent roped off. Im genuinely deciding on canceling my membership if only it werent the biggest climbing gym in town and the closest one to where I live.

Super fun and welcoming climbing gym! Having never been, the staff were super friendly and explained everything. The atmosphere was fantastic, everyone was glad to offer advice and was extremely helpful. The cafe they have has tons of great options with fun names. Overall I'd highly recommend checking it out!

Great gym! Love the setting and friendly staff

2025 update: MW is my go to when I visit home, but this time around I was a bit disappointed. FYI a around half of the gym is set up for comp climbing and another big corner is roped off? Would have liked to know that before being sold a day pass. The setting also feels more reachy than it used to, which is too bad! If comp climbing isn’t your thing, consider giving MW a pass until they reset :)

New payment system is really bad. Almost seems as they’re making their membership management system so convoluted that they’re hoping to make money off people not canceling their membership on time. No more paying month-to-month so I will no longer be going here. Also they never change the routes frequently enough and the route setters do not take into account all body dimensions—seems to be made for 6’ lanky boys. I’m not advanced by any means but I’ve been to other climbing gyms where this wasn’t an issue. The atmosphere and staff friendliness is good though.

We had our daughter’s 10th birthday party here and it was great. Planning and communication with the party planner was efficient and prompt. We had a very large area to ourselves with an attached conference room. We brought our own drinks, cupcakes and pizza. We were free to go between the two areas and climb for 2 hours. Very happy with the experience!

This is the best climbing gym I've been to! Wide variety of routes for boulderers of all levels. The other amenities are also fantastic -- cafe with delicious drinks (great when you need a working space), fitness center (free weights, cardio machines, squat rack, pull-up bar, etc.), showers/changing rooms, and yoga classes + other community events throughout the month. The staff is also incredibly kind and helpful: they quickly set my partner and I up with their 14-day trial membership and helped fit him for a new pair of climbing shoes.

Amazing gym! Either it is sandbagged and Omaha is humid, or I am just out of shape =P

Very accessible, open, and welcoming, but could use more "easy-easy" stuff in the main room. I will look at the kid's room next time I am in but there is does feel weird to climb in the place there was a 12 year old singing happy birthday that afternoon... Bummer to be stuck at the kids table, but I digress.

No, but for real, this place is great. Trans-affirming, gay-friendly, with hair ties in the men's restroom; all that stuff that makes you feel seen <3

Visit if you can; their 2 week membership is a great deal!!

I stayed in Nebraska for a few weeks, and got the trial membership for MW Climbing. It was perfect for a temporary stay here, and I also got to visit both locations. I really enjoyed the Omaha location. As a relatively new climber, there were a range of routes, and they tested you in unique ways that I'm not used to in my main gym. I'd say it's more beginner climber friendly, so definitely check this place out if you want to give climbing a try. You won't regret it!

Knowing all the hard work and compassion that went into building this gym, it’s no wonder MW has such an amazing reputation. The managers and staff of this location have thought of EVERYTHING ! Amazing climbs, great atmosphere, sense of community with open events, AND a coffee shop where you can chill and study/read while enjoying a drink after your climb ! I LOVE it here and everyone from beginners to seasoned climbers will love it too ((:

Took my family to MW over the weekend with zero expectations. The staff was friendly and walked us through the various courses and how to view their level of difficulty. My kids ranging from 7-12 years old each had climbing routes available for them to use. We would definitely go back. This is a really cool gym alternative concept and we all got in a great workout as well.

The new gold standard for Midwest bouldering gyms. Friendly open design, modular modern walls, good flooring, lots of volumes and modern large scale holds with a variety of plastic on offer. Frequent setting. Public WiFi.

Given they just opened two months ago the selection of training tools was very limited: no boards (e.g., Kilter etc.), no hang boards, no campus board, no basic training or weight equipment). They have plans and the space to be next level it's just a matter of time. Looking forward to visiting again in the coming years to see the growth.

Had a great experience climbing here. So glad Omaha has a bouldering gym of this size and quality.

It had only been open for about a week when I initially visited so the coffee bar, fitness center, and training area were still under construction. The rest of the space was really well thought out. Has a good mix of slab, varying overhangs, and even more of a cave area. Lighting was great as well. It felt very clean and welcoming immediately when walking in the door. Since it was my first visit, the staff member that checked me in gave me a quick tour and overview of the space.

I’m still climbing at a beginner grade and they had tons of boulder problems in my range so I had plenty of variety in my session. Looked like there were also plenty of problems in the intermediate and advanced range so I think there is something for everyone.

Would highly recommend MW Climbing Omaha.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star Review: Awesome Climbing Gym Experience in Omaha!

I recently visited this fantastic climbing gym in Omaha, Nebraska, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! The staff here is nothing short of incredible – their diversity and friendliness create an inviting and inclusive atmosphere that makes every climber feel right at home.

First and foremost, the gym itself is massive and well-designed. The spacious layout provides ample climbing routes, ensuring that you never feel cramped, even during peak hours. Whether you're a seasoned climber or a newbie like me, there's something for everyone to enjoy. The attention to detail in setting up the climbing walls is truly impressive, and the cool new climbing holds add a refreshing twist to the overall experience.

One of the standout features of this gym is undeniably the staff. Each member is not only passionate about climbing but also incredibly knowledgeable and approachable. They are always eager to offer guidance and tips, regardless of your skill level. No question goes unanswered, and their genuine enthusiasm for climbing is contagious!

Beyond the climbing walls, the facility is well-maintained, clean, and offers excellent amenities. There are plenty of rest areas and training spaces, allowing you to relax and socialize with fellow climbers. The positive energy in this gym is infectious, and you'll find yourself making new friends in no time.

Furthermore, the gym regularly hosts fun events and competitions that foster a sense of community among climbers. These events are a fantastic opportunity to challenge yourself, cheer on others, and celebrate the spirit of climbing together.

I can't emphasize enough how much I enjoyed my time at this climbing gym. Whether you're a climbing enthusiast or just looking for an exciting and fulfilling activity, this place has it all. With its welcoming staff, state-of-the-art facilities, and a diverse community of climbers, it's the perfect spot to elevate your climbing journey.

I highly recommend this climbing gym to anyone in Omaha or visiting the area. It's an absolute gem and a testament to the passion and dedication of the staff who make it such an incredible place. Happy climbing! 🧗‍♂️🧗‍♀️
