I have for years struggled with self image, confidence, and social anxiety. I used these fears to keep me from bettering myself. When I decided to take the leap of faith and walk into the gym, I was clueless. I was quickly greeted by a nice young gal name Amanda, fighting thru the urge to blush I was nervous to tell her that I was clueless in there. Without hesitation she reassured me that everyone starts somewhere, and that it was a judgement free zone. That boosted my confidence thru the roof! Not only am I confident that people won’t make fun when I curl those dumbbells wrong, I’m confident that every time I go back in, the staff will be just as friendly, courteous, and welcoming as she was! I like that it has at least 2 changing rooms after your shower. Hopefully they'll get the reg massage chairs that I've used at every location. The ones they have take tokens and don't have many features to adjust like the other chairs I've used. These aren't as good as the other ones I've only been to one PF out of 2 yrs that I've not liked very recently.
This one is smaller then most I've been to, but it is set up very well and has everything you need for your visit. It could be better if they had a better seating area to just kick back and relax in as well
I can say I am pleased with this location.

It’s a good location. The employees are cool and the locker rooms are generally clean. The locker sizes suck and it doesn’t help that four of the big lockers have locks on them that have been on there for WEEKS. Which tells me they aren’t enforcing the locker rules. Check the locker rooms and cut these locks off they’ve been taken for the last two months this is BS.

Few more months until Crunch is opened and then I can cancel this membership! 😩😩 Went to check in -bank account change & payment failed PF pops states “you can access the club one time and then you won’t be able to until you pay” - I figured I would work out and pay no biggie in there almost daily so I would of course have to pay before checking it again.

As I’m telling the clerk about the pop up The manager Scott rudely interjects himself and says he can’t let me and I need to pay. I walked to my car to pay only to see he started processing my bank account so I have to walk back and pay it directly to the clerk which I was not expecting. The front desk clerk states their rules trump the corporate rules regardless what the app says. Didn’t expect special treatment but I didn’t expect for the PF app to be honored. I’m there a lot so clearly I pay my membership.

Scott has done this before last time he waited for outside the locker room and rudely said I can’t work out today. I walked up to the desk only to find out he doesn’t understand his system and he was wrong. No apologies just “oh you’re good” how embarrassing

If you’re curious why the churn rate is so high look into management. 👀👀 look at the reviews other members have cancelled due to this same manager.

Besides that it’s Planet Fitness - the ladies bathroom is only girl completely by one girl so if she is not in expect trash on the floor and no paper towels.

I am giving it three stars only because the aqua table in massage chair is outdated at my local Planet Fitness. This planet fitness is only less than five minutes from my house, however to get an enjoyable massage chair and aqua chair experience I have to go to another planet fitness. The people are friendly. Loooks closed. No signage. No lights. If I had not been using maps I wouldn’t have found it. In fact. I passed it. I had an interaction with an employee when I had trouble scanning my pass. Then after cancellation they'll continue to charge your account! Even if you put a stop payment on your account they'll change up something small so that the stop payment is useless and continue to charge you. Once again when you bring it to their attention they'll ignore your emails. No phone number to call about this. DON'T TRUST THEM WITH YOUR BANKING INFORMATION THEY'LL NEVER STOP TAKING YOUR MONEY! I’d been a member of this gym for 2 years. Facilities were just ok but kept the membership because it was easy and inexpensive.
Recently I’d lost and had to replace my cc and forgot to update my account. Shouldn’t have been a big deal but the manager on staff today at 1pm was so rude about the entire situation (he came up to me while I was working out on the gym floor and was incredibly rude) I stopped my workout, told them to cancel my membership immediately, and then I left.
Why he felt the need to be so rude I had no idea, either way, good riddance ✌🏾

I actually go to the 90th St and Ames locations and both are great. I do go at a time during the day where there isn’t many ppl there and I love that. I deleted one star (no fault of the business) bc I hate when people don’t wipe down their equipment. So I would suggest wipe it down before you use it and after. Also the staff at both locations are super friendly and willing to help if you’re not sure about a machine, how to work it, and what it helps. People also mind their business and don’t pay you any mind. Ima shy person so please don’t watch me LOL! But if you’re consistent with any gym you will see the progress! I go daily M-F and even after my 1st week (and changing eating habits) I can feel and see a difference. And did I mention it’s $10 a month….you can’t lose!!!!!! I will update later with pics💕
