A true judgement free zone. This Planet Fitness location is top notch. I have been a member here for around 2 months and look forward to coming here every day. There is a plethora of equipment that is squeaky clean and always in great condition. There are variations of all the machines so you don’t have to wait for others to finish their workout. The employees here are the most welcoming people I’ve met. Aspen and Rachel are always putting in the work. I swear, while I’m working out out they are burning more calories than I am, cleaning machines, the facility and making sure this location is running smooth. If you aren’t a member here, you’re missing out!

Subject: Update: Experience at Planet Fitness Walnut Grove

Dear Planet Fitness Walnut Grove (Omaha, NE),

UPDATE: While my friend and I joined together for motivation (this location is the closest to both our homes) and prefer to work out at the same time, we discovered that we're eligible for the SilverSneakers program through insurance. I thought I give this location another chance and we both returned to the Walnut Grove location to update our membership information accordingly. Hoping for a positive experience and a fresh start.

Unfortunately, both the new manager and the same stone-faced staff member were on duty during our visit. They processed our request, but their demeanor was cold and unwelcoming. The interaction felt tense and uncomfortable—more like a hassle than a service—and it left me wondering why the staff, particularly the younger team members, seem so blatantly dismissive and unkind. Is this some kind of age discrimination? Why this obvious distain toward over 70’s? Nothing professional or friendly (not one smile). Plus, no apology or explanation from them for the previous treatment of denying me use of the hydro massage chair (that I am paying for) ‘unless I took a picture immediately” which still puzzles us and personally, I would like to understand why that sever treatment after I explained I was willing to take a pic after I used the hydro massage chair?

On the other hand, Amber is professional, helpful, friendly and will gladly walk to the circuit machines to explain the equipment and how to adjust the weights. Amber is patient and willing to go the extra mile in setting up the Silver Sneaker info but I needed a customer ID number which I didn’t have the day she worked the front desk. Amber actually smiles and offers to help and answer any questions.

I believe a fitness environment should feel inclusive, supportive, and respectful—especially for members who are trying to maintain their health and well-being and paying for a monthly membership in a “judgement free zone".

I’m writing to formally rreview your Walnut Grove location.
While I’ve appreciated having access to the gym over the past month, a recent experience on August 8, 2025, prompted my decision to write this review. After completing my workout, I attempted to use the hydromassage chair as usual but was told by a staff member—whom I hadn’t seen before—that I was required to take a photo immediately before I could proceed.
I understand and respect the gym’s photo policy, and I fully intended to comply. However, I explained that I’d prefer to take the photo at another time, as I was hot and red-faced post-workout. Despite this, the staff member insisted, and both attendants refused to allow me access to the hydromassage chair. Given that I had already been a member for a month without this being an issue, the sudden urgency felt unnecessary and frankly, a bit inflexible.
The interaction left me feeling uncomfortable and pressured, which is disappointing in a space that promotes being judgment-free.
I hope this feedback is helpful, and it encourages a little more understanding in situations like mine moving forward.

Been a member for about 2 years. Never had much of a problem with staff, (I usually work out super late ) today a staff was very subpar with their customer service skills - a manager David .
I came to workout on a lunch break. (My account is up to date and fully paid) he stopped me after checking in , and half way explained ( meaning he just said ,” your card expired )
I looked in the app, it said fully paid no balance owed , there was a note it needed a back up method renewed . )
I reiterated that I’m fully paid up and was current in my status.
He then continued to say , “we need a back up method , that’s what’s expired “.
I didn’t have a wallet on me or any of my cards memorized to fill out in the app. I let him know that , he just looked at me like I was inconveniencing him. I started to bother my wife with the request on the phone, then got a bit fed up, I said, I can just fill this out at home when I get back I don’t have cards on me.
He then finally gave me all of the information. We can help you through Apple Pay , and then offered the card reader , (before he implied it had to be updated on the App before my workout ). I updated via the tap to pay method. He then didn’t do the policy of standard like all other employees, greeting me with , have a good workout. - David doesn’t seem like he enjoys his job much, he could’ve made this situation much better if his attitude was just a fraction better . If I was regional or GM, I’d demote him at the least for his lack of customer service and pleasant attitude .
(Then again , bad performance is usually a top down problem, so I’m not sure that whoever is above him actually cares - this is problem with big chains, and franchises, many times they just don’t care. )
All of this could’ve been smooth and easy, with a bit of competent customer service . I’ll leave this here for your training purposes and hopefully to update David on his shortcomings as a manager … David : “ Excuse me sir. It seems your back up payment !method is expired , can I help you update that today before your workout , per our policy ? We have tap to pay , Apple Pay options if you need.”

Transaction done. David: “Thank you sir , have a great work out” . Me: “Thank you have a nice day.”

Anyway Vasa is a great gym and the employees seem to be not burned out and actually care about the gym, the environment they serve and their customers… maybe it’s time to give up the planet fitness black membership and just work out at home if it gets too late…

I have been a satisfied customer since signing up 4 years ago. As required by PF bylaws, they have access to my checking account, to allow EFT, they require this to ensure monthly payment on a consistent, accurate and reliable basis. Have never missed payment as a result. Recently PF mgmt is requiring a 2nd form of payment on file and refusing me access/entry.
I don’t have a credit card, a separate account to offer them other than the only checking account they draw from.
The whole purpose for PF requiring EFT is to ensure monthly payments, this is their bylaws. I do not get an explanation from mgmt(Dave) for reason for supposed 2nd form of payment to have on file.
So frustrating and dissatisfied with customer service/mgmt and lack of explanation.

Im rating this location based on the former Manager. It was definitely time for a change. The lack of unprofessionalism was unbelievable. I would check in & hear her loudly talking about staff & the overall company. We would always run out of paper towels & hand sanitizer & she would make excuses that corporate would not allow her to order enough to get through the month. The front desk staff is awesome & very friendly & accommodating. I felt sorry for the front desk having to always take complaints for the lack of paper towels & everything that wasn't addressed by management. I’ve been going to Planet Fitness for a few months now, and I have to say — it’s been a great experience. The gym is always clean, the equipment is well-maintained, and there’s plenty of it so I rarely have to wait. The staff is friendly and helpful without being overbearing. The $10/month membership is affordable and gives you access to everything you need for a solid workout. I've had a membership at Planet Fitness for nearly a decade. I have purchased many things without using a debit or credit card, because I don't bring a wallet with me to the gym.

On my visit today, I went to workout and tan, but I forgot my eyewear. In the past, I would purchase eyewear and be billed on my account. The person at the front desk informed me my card wasn't on file anymore, but she didn"t know why. She informed me that I need payment, so I go to my car to get the $.80 for the eyewear. I come back in and she says no cash allowed. I ask again if she can bill the account that my membership is on, and she said no. Customer Service is clearly a thing of the past here. The person working the front desk had no regard for customer loyalty and she didn't bother to get a manager or help me. I will cancel my decade-long membership after this interaction.

I visited this gym in the morning and inquired about a day pass, as advertised on their website. The manager informed me that the cost was $20, which I found surprising given that a monthly membership is listed at $15.

There was no offer of a tour or an opportunity to ask questions, which felt a bit unwelcoming. In contrast, when I visited West O Fitness, I was given a complimentary 4-day pass and a much more inviting experience.

While this gym has a solid selection of cardio equipment, the weight area is quite limited. Ultimately, I don’t believe it would be the right fit for me.

This is my gym and have been going for 18 months. I really like the location and the staff. Machines are checked and maintenanced from what I can tell. However, over the past 2 months there has been no hand sanitizer to use at all. Sometimes there are no paper towels to use to clean machines, which is a requirement. These need to be a priority again like they seemed to be when I joined.
