I have been training 3 times a week at Starting Strength Omaha for 10 months. I joined initially as I was frustrated with group fitness classes that didn't offer personalized coaching and support. I wanted to focus on getting stronger and healthier for longevity, not just grinding myself down with massive amounts of cardio and unsustainable calorie counting.
At Starting Strength Omaha, they offer small class sizes, so that every individual in the class is coached during their lifts and every individual problem is addressed before it becomes a Problem.
I love the supportive atmosphere in the gym, where everyone cheers for your big wins and celebrates all the small gains that we each see in class and in a stronger life outside the gym. The group is everything positive gym culture should be about. Everyone is welcoming and friendly and all sizes, shapes, and abilities are accounted for.
I highly recommend Starting Strength Omaha for wherever you are on your strength journey. Thank you Aaron and Brittany!

When one gym closes, another opportunity arises - isn't that how the saying goes? While it was sad that my old gym closed, and hard to go on a "gym search", I am so very happy that I chose Starting Strength.
Aaron has a wealth of experience with life, weightlifting, powerlifting, nutrition and working around injuries.

Every.single.lift.is.coached - this is AMAZING!!!

I was looking specifically for a gym and coach to get me into shape for National Senior Games powerlifting and has done exactly that. I'm so excited to represent Nebraska, my age group and to keep getting stronger 💪
The gym culture is fantastic - people are open, encouraging, warm, accepting - YOU should probably think about joining. And, if you are 5'2" or shorter, the short girls class is M/W/F at 6 pm - super fun 😁 You won't be sorry you got stronger! see you there!

Since training with at Starting Strength, I am seen nothing but improvements. When I started, I had knee pain and challenges with mobility that limited my daily activities. Something as simple as getting up and down from the floor was a huge challenge. Since starting, almost 9 months ago, my knees have stopped hurting, I am able to do daily task with ease, and most of all, I am able to keep up with my grandkids. The coaching Aaron and Brittany provide is the best I’ve experienced.

I won a free month at Starting Strength and can not say enough good things about it. Aaron and Brittany are amazing and super supportive. I'm not a novice when it comes to lifting, but def picked up some bad habits over the years. I knew I had things to work on and never did they make me feel less than. Because of their guidance I'm getting back to the strong I remember before having kids.

I cannot recommend this gym enough!

My experience with Starting Strength: As an orthopedic physical therapist who enjoys strength training, I have learned an immense amount of useful training, coaching, and programming information from Starting Strength’s materials throughout my career. I had been working with a patient in the PT clinic who needed to gain additional strength beyond PT. I referred this Patient to Starting Strength’s based upon the company’s strong reputation for high level and high skill strength coaching. My Patient provided nothing but rave reviews about the experience with Starting Strength. Upon following up, my Patient looks visibly stronger, reports feeling more confident and has less pain.

I attended an introductory strength session shortly after this experience with coach Aaron. In a one hour session I was able to train three major movements, receive custom feedback on the movements as they relate to my body type and multiple useful cues to use during lifts to improve my performance. The coaching is very hands on, very direct from extremely knowledgeable staff. You will not find a more qualified group to teach you how to get strong and feel better about your body.

I had the chance to stop in for a deadlift session with Aaron and his wife and thoroughly enjoyed it. They were great to work with and gave me some great cues to use during my deadlifts.
Timing didn't work out for me to join their gym but they were gracious with their time and expertise. Good folks here.

I paid for a one week trial with Aaron. First, I've been a home gym guy and I've been strength training on my own for years now. At one point, I did receive some online coaching, but for most of it, I have been using programming templates on my own from various companies. To be in a gym having a knowledgeable coach give you real-time feedback during your movements, and cues to focus on for the next set, was invaluable. Having Aaron observe each rep took away all of the guesswork that I usually have to navigate on my own (How many reps did I have in reserve? How did it "feel"? Was it heavy because of stress accumulation or form inefficiency? etc.) Three sessions with Aaron and I'm completely re-thinking how I approach training - from programming and live-time feedback to the intangible benefits of lifting with a class and being part of a "tribe". Aaron is a great coach for anyone - from the beginner who doesn't know the difference between a barbell and a dumbell, to a post-novice guy in his late forties like myself. Great coaching and a great community at SS Omaha. Highly recommend meeting with Aaron and beginning the journey to build a better version of yourself.

After my aging parents and in-laws started using walkers and wheelchairs, I knew I needed to get stronger. When I went to my evaluation, I could barely squat 20 lbs part way and stand up. In a few weeks I got to full depth and 65 lbs and still adding weight. I have never had a coach give me so much help with technique and wow what a difference it has made from previous experiences. They are so supportive and I am proud of my progress. The great thing is: they are proud too. Even helped me work thru some bruised ribs. The healing process was faster with strength training. Getting stronger does not mean you should feel sore and be in pain. Forget the saying "no pain, no gain."

I loved my experience with Aaron. After 1+ hours I walked away with 12 tips or action items to implement in my home gym training. Well worth the time, drive and cost. My fitness journey just got an upgrade.

My husband and I decided we needed to make a change in our lifestyle if we are going to enjoy retirement. He found Starting Strength late in 2021 and finally convinced me to get started with the program in 2022.

When we moved to Omaha in 2023 and found out that a SS gym was being opened soon by Aaron we decided to reach out and get help with our lifts. In one session with Aaron it became clear how necessary a coach really is. It was so difficult for me to figure out what I was doing wrong that kept me from progressing in the lifts. Aaron was able to immediately help me correct my form and gain more strength than I thought was possible.
I have also been incredibly blessed to have met a wonderful group of people during my training time with Aaron. They have become like family as we work to do hard stuff together which has really helped in our transition here in the last year.

I joined Starting Strength at the recommendation of my physical therapist. Aaron is an incredibly knowledgeable coach who has expertly modified exercises to accommodate my mobility challenges. As a total novice, he has explained every movement, the science behind it, and enures I have the correct form each time. My goal is really life long functional fitness and I am already seeing the results. I am getting stronger, my balance is improving, and I have more confidence in walking on uneven terrain which is a huge challenge for me. Aaron's coaching style is really for everyone from the middle-aged mobility challenged like me to the elite athletes. He really meets folks where they are and builds strength each and every session!

Aaron and Starting Strength have been so awesome to work with, I started as a high school athlete looking to continue my training before my school season and then into the summer and found something I can use my entire life. Aaron has always been helpful and adaptable as my schedule and stress level changes alongside life, making being happy and healthy the main goal as well as stronger.

I started reading the Starting Strength Book in the fall of 2021 and failed many times trying to do the program on inferior equipment with zero coaching. After attending one class I found the difference a Starting Strength Coach can make. From the time you unrack the bar, Aaron is there to cue you making sure that you get better with every rep. Under Aaron's coaching my back pain has gone away, and I am able to lift more than I have ever thought possible.

Definitely enjoying my experience with Starting Strength Omaha, having Aaron as my coach. I’d already read the books and have been reading the emails from Rip, so it was easy to see that Aaron knows his stuff. I came in with previous injuries, surgeries, scoliosis, and am over 40, and Aaron takes all this into consideration with training. He helps me get the most out of each session and I’m happy with my happy with my gains over the last 6-8 months. In addition to results, I have my Starting Strength family too! I look forward to their support and cheering them on.
