First of all, this review is L O N G overdue! I was lead to Michelle two years ago almost to this very date. I was instantly put at ease walking through those front doors. The atmosphere that her and Dave have created is so inviting, clean and inspiring. I had been working out for many years but got to a point where I was REALLY struggling to be consistent. I loved their approach of TOTAL body fitness. Not only was I lead through a 45 min workout 3 days a week, I was also given a very detailed meal plan with plenty of options to make it work for me. Michelle was always available if I had any questions and in the beginning insisted that I send a journal of my daily activities which was a total game changer. To have a real life person that genuinely cares, holding me accountable, was what it took for me to make an everlasting lifestyle change. I lost around 40lbs over the course of that year and I have, to this day, been able to keep it off. I worked my booty off, ate food that fueled me, ensured my protein levels were correct AND gained a friend while doing so. I mean, hello - no brainer. If you are wondering if they or their technique will work for you - wonder no longer, it's a yes!

My experience with Total Fitness has been great. They are supportive, motivational and really know about the body and how to help you achieve your goals. I have suffered from severe back pain for over a decade. When I came I didn’t recognize myself and I was scared that I would just be in pain the rest of my life. I am 30 lbs down, my back pain has lessened with their shakes and I am looking like me again. They take care of you! I appreciate everything they have taught me about nutrition and getting me back to myself. ❤️ Plus, if you haven’t seen Dave’s legs you’ll regret it. 😂

I can’t recommend Total Fitness enough! From the moment I walked in, I felt right at home. The gym is always clean, creating a motivating atmosphere. My one-on-one sessions with Michelle have been amazing—she guided me through each exercise and taught me how to use the equipment, which was super helpful as I was unfamiliar with it. Once I got comfortable, she focused on perfecting my form to prevent injury and maximize results. She even uses illustrations to show which muscles are being targeted, helping me better understand how each exercise works.
I really appreciate the nutrition plan they provide. Before joining, I struggled to see results despite working out on random YouTube videos, but their plan is designed to complement my workouts. Dave and Michelle explain how each food helps with muscle repair and growth and guide me in tracking my meals. Keeping a food journal has been eye-opening, revealing how my eating habits were holding me back. Plus, having someone hold me accountable makes all the difference, especially when I slip up!
Beyond fitness and nutrition, Dave and Michelle are like natural life coaches. I’ve shared laughs and received great advice during sessions. They’ve created such a supportive, welcoming environment where you not only get a fitness coach but also a friend and mentor. I was going through some life changes and wanted to do something for myself. I've tried doing exercises, and going to the gym and would lose a few pounds and give up. So, I started looking at personal trainers. I didn't see much and tried again, and came across Total Fitness and read about Dave. His story really touched me, and made me wanted to try something different with exercise. I reached out to him on the Total Fitness website, and I was so impressed, because he responded to me on a Sunday. I got to meet Dave and Michelle and they are beyond awesome. Michelle was my trainer and we formed an awesome relationship with guidance to good health and exercise. I didn't feel overwhelmed or nervous with trying to figure out what to do. With every technique she showed me and explained the purpose of the workout. The facility is awesome, very well maintained at all times. I enjoyed my time training at Total Fitness and will be going back. I tried it my way and it didn't work, so I'm going back to the Bryers way. You will not be disappointed in the duo of Dave and Michelle Bryer, and Michelle makes the best healthy shakes. So, I will give 5 stars because that's what's available but they are an amazing 10.

Dave Bryer changed my life! He helped me lose 40lbs and create a body that I’m proud of. Total Fitness is amazing! While Michelle is my specific trainer and coach, Dave has a vested interest in my success as well. They are both super encouraging, meeting you where you are, while at the same time challenging you to be your best self!! The science backed approach to their program is both informative and makes total sense. If you follow what they guide you to do, you’ll have great success! Michelle makes me laugh every time I attend a session with her, making workouts a fun experience! I love this boutique gym! It is clean and usually you have the gym to yourself which is nice, and getting the 2 way communication between you and the trainers is so helpful! Michelle & Dave also have their own line of protein powders that are delicious and blend beautifully! If your looking for personal training, this is it!! Highly reccomend!

Training at Total Fitness has been the only time in my life that I have been able to get fitness results. It was super discouraging trying to figure out diet and exercise on my own, as well as having any consistency with either one. Following the diet and training plan helped me understand my body and how it reacts to certain foods and exercises.
I have been able to drop a lot of bodyfat and build great muscle in all the right places. I have learned fitness skills that will allow me to have a lean and muscular physique for the rest of my life! For that, I am eternally grateful!

I am so grateful for Total Fitness & Cafe Barbell. I would give it 100 stars if I could. My decision to work with the Bryers has been life changing. I have struggled with my weight for almost 20 years after the birth of my 3 children in my late 30's. I have tried and failed at almost every imaginable diet and exercise program known to man. After losing both my precious parents within 3 months of each other in late 2020 and working in the hospital as a physical therapist during the pandemic I found myself in a very bad place both mentally and physically. I decided to make the time and financial investment to get healthy. I have been working out at Total Fitness since last summer making steady progress for the first time in years. This is due to the relentless commitment, expertise and patience of my trainer Dave Bryer. He is AMAZING!!!!. He is passionate about health , he walks the talk and leads by example. He is genuine , he patiently answers all my questions, ( usually saying "no you shouldn't eat that "), helps me reframe my thinking when i slip up, doesn't let me make excuses and most importantly never gives up on me. This one to one consistent accountability is exactly what I need to stay the course. Everything about Total Fitness is geared to make clients successful and help them meet their goals. The facility is absolutely BEAUTIFUL , so clean with attention to detail everywhere. The equipment if top of line. The workouts are supervised, efficient and effective. The food and nutritional support at Cafe Barbell is delicious. You must try the smoothie bar - Carmelicious please! Did I mention this place is AMAZING!. Thank you Dave and Michelle. I'm so thankful for my time at Bryer's Total Fitness. I never felt like I was left to figure out anything on my own. Nutrition plan, challenging workouts, and daily feedback kept me on track and allowed me to lose weight, build shapely muscles, and increase my confidence. I am not a person who just "works out" on my own…I've owned gym memberships in the past and would actually drive to the parking lot of the gym and then wouldn't get out of the car and turn around and head home!! With Bryers Total Fitness, Michelle is waiting for me at each of my sessions and that is the motivation I need to get myself there. This is now MY time. If you are looking for a personal trainer, you should go see Dave or Michelle! I have trained with Michelle for over three years. Michelle takes the time to teach you about nutrition, cardio and weight lifting - all important components for losing weight. She is always there to answer questions or give you support. The best part - you can choose to train one on one with Dave or Michelle. This was really nice at first when I wasn't sure of myself - Michelle and I were the only ones on the floor. I enjoyed working out with Michelle and Dave. I had just retired and wanted to be able to enjoy this time in my life. I talked with Michelle and was very impressed. I was 65 years old, needed to loose some weight and get physically fit. She helped me loose 25 pounds and by exercising with her guidance felt better than I have ever felt in my life. I had to move out of state or I would still be going to Total Fitness to work out. I looked forward to my days at Total Fitness, it was a very pleasant and personal environment. I would recommend anyone in the Omaha area to stop by and talk with Dave & Michelle if you are ready to feel your very best.
