I’ve really enjoyed being a member of this gym, but lately the overall environment feels like it has shifted. Previously, the staff included many people of color, and while I’m not sure what happened, their absence has been noticeable. One of the things I’ve always appreciated most about this gym is the diverse community it attracts, and I hope that remains a priority.
My biggest concern recently has been the music selection. It has declined significantly and feels geared toward a very specific demographic. It’s reached a point where I feel embarrassed bringing visitors because the music playing doesn’t create an energizing workout atmosphere. It’s not motivating, it’s not “gym” music, and it doesn’t match the vibe this location used to have.
If I could suggest one immediate improvement, it would be to revisit the music choices to better support the diverse community and the high-energy environment a gym should provide. Even a rotation of rock, hip-hop, Top 40, or other upbeat genres would be a huge improvement.

The trainer Zac is amazing. Super nice and knowledgeable. Hears you out and modifies accordingly. The gym is very nice and staff is very friendly. Young or old, in shape or wanting to be in shape you will feel welcomed here!

I thought to give Vasa try again, but they completely screwed me over. They are a SCAM!!! I went in to try a free day trial and they told me that they no longer do that And they said I could do a free month so I said perfect. Do the free month they told me that the cancellation fee was $25 and then 60 days there’s an annual enrollment fee and then after six months of having A membership the $25 fee drops off. So I Got the free month I’ve had it for two weeks and now I owe $107 because I want to cancel it and somehow through the way I got a studio which is $47 which I did not sign up for or was I told that that’s what came with the free month until after and they said they can’t do anything about it I will never recommend this place and my family has had trouble with them and I am currently having other people cancel their memberships because this is ridiculous. Their staff is so untrained that they just show free month and promote that but do not tell you the fine details at all

After buying a membership for a friend I was later not allowed to stop the payments from being charged to my credit card. Abusers of consumer rights. Red light room was out of service for a couple of months too, by the way.

UPDATE to an earlier review...
The hot tub jets have been down for 2+ months now, the hot tub area is often closed for maintenance, and the shower soap dispensers are often empty. There are trusted companies IN LINCOLN that can fix your problems swiftly and in an affordable fashion...instead of entrusting corporate to take weeks/months to finally fix something. This is how you lose members, VASA.
Pool and hot tub are rarely open (or functioning correctly) and management fails to prioritize these amenities. For example, both the pool and hot tub have been down for 2 weeks and are willingly entering their 3rd week of closure…simply due to chlorine shipments - their words (all while there are quality chlorine providers in Lincoln that service all of the community’s indoor/outdoor pools). Other pools tend to fix chlorine related issues in 1-2 days. VASA doesn’t seem to care. Just as long as they keep the meatheads that wear sneakers/shoes in the spa/steam room (tracking in excess dirt and gunk) and dress like they’re training for a UFC bout - which I assure you, they are not - happy.
VASA doesn't care about their swimmers and hot tub patrons. But allow people to drag mud into the wet pool/spa/steam room areas all the time. Pic below of the soiled footprints left behind quite often.

I recently upgraded to Vasa from Planet Fitness after my job switched locations, and the facilities are amazing. Everything is brand-new, the equipment is high-quality, and it even connects with my Apple Watch. The gym is clean, modern, and really enjoyable to use.
That said, I deducted a star because I was under the impression they offered cycle classes, but they don’t. I started my membership in September with first month free. I’m not sure how my membership payment is $105 in November.

Great gym environment and staff. Absolutely love the friendships I’ve made with instructors from Studio Red, especially Jacob and JJ. I can not recommend Abby enough, she’s an amazing trainer that’s pushed me far beyond what I thought were my limits!

I was lied to and mislead the entire time I dealt with Vasa Fitness. When I signed up I was told by all 3 people I spoke with that there was a special deal where you get your first 4 personal training sessions free with a 6 month contract and the first bill would be in November. When I got the information it said the first bill was in October and when I asked the trainer he said he was sorry I got misinformation and that I would get 4 extra sessions but the charges would start right away and that I would need to put a freeze on my training account to get the first 4 weeks free like were promised I also was VERY clear that I wanted to learn to swim with my training sessions and the trainer agreed to do swim lessons with me.I paid 15.00 to Freeze my account on training to get the free training sessions I was promised and this is what happened.Session One : I got my personal training session but my trainer did not even get in the pool with me to teach a swim lesson. He taught from the side of the pool.Session Two : Trainer taught from the side of the pool again and session was stopped 15 minutes early because a instructor named JJ wanted the entire pool for a group class and would not let the trainer fininsh with me in an open lane!!Then I was told I was only get 1 more free session not 2 more which was left of the four. I liked my personal trainer but I hate the fact that I was lied to many times by vasa fitness and I believe how I was treated was totally unacceptable

I am very dissatisfied with VASA. I froze my personal training for three months, and last month I downgraded my membership. I was told my personal training by membership will be frozen for 90 days (which is till October 8th), but today (October 1st) I found out that my freeze was apparently removed without any notification. Because of this, I was charged for two weeks of training sessions I never scheduled or used.
When I called, I was told the freeze was automatically removed when I downgraded my package, but no one informed me of this. Instead of helping me, I was told I could not get a refund and that I would have to contact a personal trainer to use the sessions—something I don’t even have the time for.
This feels dishonest and very frustrating. If I had known, I never would have agreed to downgrade. The lack of communication and transparency is unacceptable. I would give this gym zero stars if I could. I definitely won’t be returning and do not recommend VASA to anyone.

I am generally satisfied with the gym, but the situation in the sauna is really problematic. Many visitors go inside with regular clothes and even shoes. This is unhygienic, unpleasant, and against the normal sauna rules.
The last time I entered the sauna, it smelled strongly of plastic – obviously from clothing and shoes that do not belong there. This is not only disturbing but can also lead to health risks.
I really hope the gym takes this seriously and makes sure people follow the rules so that the sauna can once again be a place of relaxation and health.
Basic Sauna Rules:
• Enter the sauna without clothes or shoes (only with a towel or proper swimwear made for saunas).
• Shower and dry off before going in.
• Always sit or lie on a towel so sweat does not get on the benches.
• Keep a quiet and calm atmosphere (no loud conversations or phones).
• Do not enter with strong perfume, deodorant, or creams.
• After the sauna, cool down with a shower and take some rest.

Calling all runners and anyone who has pain in their joints. Yoga at Vasa is amazing. I love yoga with Darrel, Ada, Keisha, Alyssa, Emily, Karla, and Alicia. I’m loving the new yoga teacher Maddie, who teaches an amazing flow on Sundays. Early morning yoga with Keisha is so energizing. When it’s time to restore your body restore yoga with Darrel is relaxing. The staff here is welcoming and the fitness director JJ takes time to get to know you. The club is clean and beautiful. The pool is Amazing, come in today and see for yourself.

I really like yoga with Darrell! He gets five stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for his classes!!! All the other yoga classes I’ve been to are pretty mid tho of course some are better than others. Also, please dial it back with making the instructors ask for reviews every class. Kinda ruins the vibe lol
Locker rooms would benefit from paper towels and more frequent maintenance. I’ve lost count of the times the toilet paper has been empty. And without paper towels, it is hard to wipe off the dirty counter where the mirrors are to set my bag down.
Massage lounge is a nice touch (pun intended).

The weights/setup are awesome. However, it’s annoying how early this place closes on weekends and VASA has too many rules for using red light and it seems like they can never figure out how to turn on the red light machine every time I want to use it. (It’s not the end of the world but it is annoying). VASA extend your hours a little bit please.

My best friend Randy & I joined Vasa abouy 5 months ago - it was a toss up between Genesis Health club & here - the main thing at my senior age , I’ve already found that water exercise was best for me & classes - you don’t have the extensive schedule that genesis has for water exercise classes , but you’re closer- so , we decided to try you - the majority of the water classes are later evening 7:30 - 8:30 pm and only on Monday & Wednesdays - but BRENDA makes it all worth it ! She’s the coach and truly sincerely CARES ! All of us laugh and feel good about our experience- THANK YOU BRENDA !!!

While most of the staff at this location are friendly and try to be helpful, the leadership leaves a lot to be desired. The general manager consistently shows a lack of accountability and seems disengaged when issues arise. Rather than stepping in to assist or resolve problems, he often passes things off to other staff and avoids direct communication.
A gym is only as strong as its leadership, and unfortunately, that’s where this location falls short. If management took a more proactive and member focused approach, the overall experience would be much better.

It was the best until they oversold their member ship and now it is over crowded and unless you workout at noon or after 10 pm then you will be standing in a line for 10-15 minutes just to get on a machine. I hate to do this review but they need to either expand or limit their membership

They lie about there payment plans. Just a update on my review. I canceled my membership 2 months ago and I just noticed they are still charging my account. You can't cancel your membership at the gym you have to call a 1 800 number and they charge you $25. Easy to sign up difficult to cancel. You can try to on you phone but most likely they'll tell you it didn't go through and continue to charge you.

Honesty one of the better gyms that iv tried out and at a decent price. They have an open floor so everything is visible which I honestly like so I can see what's open. They also have a decent pool to swim in plus hot tube section. Plenty of room to move around and the place is clean every time iv gone. If your looking for a good gym id start here.

I’ve givin the address of where I live now, & they have said that it is out of zone. Obviously I moved with my husband & everything is in the company he works for so nothing is in our name. They also charge a huge fee to cancel. They are worse than a phone company. I was told when I signed up if I moved it would be able to be cancelled. I moved 4.5 hours away.

I LOVE VASA! I met with a girl named Madelynn Snedden and she was SO helpful, kind and made me feel like i belonged at VASA! Would give half a star if I could. DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM! Their cancelation plan is super scummy. They make you pay $25 just to submit a cancelation request, and on top of that they charge you for at minimum 1 extra pay cycle after you've cancelled. Even with that they are known to sometimes disregard the cancelation request and continue charging well past the proposed end date. I REPEAT DO NOT PURCHASE A MEMBERSHIP FROM VASA, look into their cancelation plans and what other users have said before you make the decision.

Gym is very busy 4pm until around 8pm daily. Gym staff will not enforce any rules regarding common courtesy. Narrow benches.
Machines are ok except the leg ones which are all the ones with the bar attached on the side instead of center so you will get a muscle imbalance if you use these.
Flat Bench Press setup has no safety racks and has narrow benches.
Squat platforms are wobbly and the bar hooks for them are shakey.
All the drinks they sell are very expensive.
The only saving grace to this gym is the low price and having just enough to get by

I joined at the end of 2024 with the intent to save money by switching from the YMCA to Vasa. I train for triathlons and do cross-training. I typically work out 6-8 hours per week. When I had my membership with the Y, I would attend 2x/wk for swimming and 2-3x/wk for lifting/general training. After switching to vasa, this dropped significantly to only going 15x in the last 4 months, and there are reasons why.
I'll start with the things I appreciated: proximity to my house, central location, general selection of equipment, and quality of equipment. They also have a sauna and steam room. These are the reasons why they don't get 0 or 1 star.
The locker room is tiny for the amount of traffic. There were never lockers available. They were dirty, the locker room in general, while newer finishes, looked and felt dirty every time I went in. There was usually trash, hair, random towels or clothing, and general unknown substances. This created a situation where I could not reliably work out, change, and head straight to work and added friction to my routine. And it smelled like axe body spray.... like a middle school locker room.
Their pool is extremely hot. I swam twice and was nauseated by how hot the pool was. Up to this point, i had built up to swimming 7k-10k yds/wk. I did not want to get back in that pool. I inquired and was informed that corporate policy was 84 degrees, so it is unfortunate that they dont keep their pool at a temperature that is meant to swim in. The pool also felt and smelled strongly of chemicals, which is usually a sign that it is not being kept at appropriate levels. Again, this is another layer of friction that discourages use.
The fee structure is a joke. I signed up for their 20/mo deal. Come to find out there is a 70 dollar/year "rate guarantee fee" that hits 2 months after you join. Then, when you go to cancel, you need to give 30 days notice (which means they will charge you a months fee) plus a 25 dollar fee if canceling within 6 months. Stupid. I hate gimmicky fee structures. In between all the fees, I have not saved money.
The main takeaway here is that the equipment is great, but everything else (especially for me) did not make it an environment conducive for my schedule and lifestyle.

We have 2 young children and trying to both go work out together can be so tough with 2 kids but the kid care at Vasa is amazing, the staff is so caring of the kids and so patient. I have 2 boys who can be a handful and aren't used to be away from us but they love being in kid care at Vasa. Our three year old calls the gym going to silly, he loves it. And the gym atmosphere for us is so welcoming and stress and judgment free. And we love the classes we have taken so far and plan to do many more.

They mess up my payment every other month more than tripling my bill, nobody can help fix it without being on hole for 45 mins. Swimsuit dryer consistently broken, pool and hot tub are down half the time, whole place leaks, basketballs are almost all flat and nobody fills them, the bb court leaks and nobody has fixed it so there's like 15 dead spots on the courts. Absolutely love it here, they have everything for everyone, you can work at your own pace. There is no shaming whatsoever, everyone is so respectful their employees and people that joined the gym...I forgot to put my teeth in and my fat was also moving a lot and everyone acted like they didn't notice...I recommened their gym...Their classes are also highly recommended I worked out in Studio Red with instructor Brenda and you work out your whole body...if you aren't a member of a gym, your missing out.

I LOVE this place! I always have a great experience here. The staff are friendly and helpful. I never have to wait to use equipment. Everything is clean and well-maintained. I see people here who look like me, all shapes and sizes. And they are open early in the morning till late at night, so no excuses.It’s a great environment to work out in!!!

For starters, I had a person trainer come up to me at the gym and harass me for my technique and physique claiming “I could never look as good as him”
Secondly. Upon trying to cancel my membership. That took hours and hours on the phone just to find out I had been charged $25 (more than the membership itself) if a payment didn’t go through (even when repeatedly it was their fault) I had to change my card on file 3 times and probably got charged damn near triple what I was supposed to.
Finally, if you try to relay these issues to anyone in customer service. You will be told “it’s not their issue” “or that problem is out of their control”. What’s crazy to me is I have yet to find any copy of a contract I have signed that shows I agreed to any of the fees etc. I’ve been scouring my email, their website, etc and no sign of a contract outlining these fees…….
What once was a 5* is now a 1* for a horrible horrible experience. Do not come here unless you want to just be a number on their sales board.

One thing about this gym is that when I signed up for the membership the representative didn’t mention the annual fee and how much it is and even when it’s going to be deducted! When I called asking about the situation, after they have charged me, they have told me that there was a check box on the agreement that states the annual fee, however, I trusted that rep to disclose everything in the agreement to me so therefore when I get to sign paperwork I go off of what that rep told me. So far, this gym is not a big difference between the others.

Absolutely loving my time at VASA! The gym has a great vibe – it's clean, roomy, and modern, which I appreciate. The staff are consistently welcoming and exceptionally helpful. I decided to upgrade my membership for the studio classes, and it's been totally worth it. In particular, yoga classes with Carla are phenomenal. She's an incredible instructor, and I always leave her classes feeling stronger. It's a really upbeat and inclusive community to be a part of. Definitely recommend giving VASA a look!

Great gym, for the most part. Love the equipment, the classes, the sauna, steam room, pool, hot tub, and the people. The only complaint is the locker room. They've got a wall of about 50 lockers in a space where only 6-8 people can stand. They could've done better with the space they have.

I’ve been to several gyms here in town and VASA is definitely my favorite. It’s small but spacious, nothing is too complicated, and it’s not intimidating. My only complaints are that I wish they had the in between weights (12.5, 17, etcetera) which would make progressive overload a bit safer and more comfortable. I also wish that the back wall by the turf area had mirrors. Minor gripes that are not worth switching gyms over!

I love coming to Vasa! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. I enjoy my studio membership and going to cycling with Carla, studio red with Art, and Zumba with Jess and Jessie.
I’d totally give this 5 stars, but they took Jess out of the schedule and there’s no more Zumba on Thursdays which is really odd considering it was a large class and such a blast! That was a major let down.

Overall great gym. I have the fitness level membership so that I can go to Zumba and MixxedFit. Jessie and Jes are the absolute best and their classes are usually pretty packed. I miss Jessie teaching on Tuesdays but glad she is consistently teaching on Saturday's.

My recommendations. Increase more class options. Sometimes I don’t get to the gym until 730p or later during the week. The fitness room doesn’t usually have classes going on. Maybe some 735 classes would give more options, I would especially like to see Becca’s class during the week. Sundays at 1p are tough to get to.
Bring Jessie back sometime during the week in addition to her Saturday class.
Also, I know Jes class is extremely popular. Maybe another day for him too?
It’s cool that Zumba or MixxedFit is taught at least once every day of the week but the style and format on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday are not for me.

I absolutely love the studio membership! I utilize the whole gym, sauna, massage chairs, kids care, studio red and a trainer! The fact I have access to all of this and more for such an affordable price & high quality is hard to find in Lincoln! Best gym by far in Lincoln!
