The manager, Nate, is very conscientious: consistently visible during business hours, keeps the club clean, responds to member questions, quickly responds to member concerns, and takes the time to have conversations with members.

I wanted to quickly share a review. Unfortunately, I don't use the gym membership and finally got around to requesting the membership to be cancelled.
I emailed the club and recieved a response probably within ten minutes from the general manager, acknowledging the request. Within the hour I received another emailed processing the request.
Again, I haven't been to the gym in a while over two years. However, the prompt response from the management was a pleasant surprise. Thank you for the outstanding customer service.

Terrible gym. The equipment is fine but it's regularly unmaintained and not replaced as needed. The inner-building fob doesn't work. It's been hot this summer, and their AC is broken. After multiple emails and calls, I've received no response from property management or Anytime themselves let alone their local franchise ownership. Almost all of the TVs are stuck in a boot loop and don't work, yet my fees haven't gone down.

I've been an Anytime member for over a decade, and their responses to issues for any reason are atrocious. Please avoid this gym if possible. It's acceptable if it's the closest to you, but be prepared for BS and a massive lack of care from ownership at the building, corporate, and local gym levels.

The gym itself is fine but their cancellation policy is so messed up and screws over anyone that moves before the 1 year is up. I recently moved and now the closest Anytime Fitness is an hour away but they won’t let me cancel because it’s within 25 miles away. If you’re considering moving whatsoever DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM. They also barely staff the office I had to call 5+ times just for someone to answer my questions about cancelling. They also don’t let you submit your notice of ending your membership until exactly a month before, another scheme for them to suck extra money out of their customers.

It’s impossible to cancel a gym membership with Anytime Fitness. I asked to cancel my membership, but due to the terms they refused and I now owe $950 which is in collections. I initially had the membership for one year and only used the gym several times. Your membership grants you access to any Anytime Fitness location, but after my experience at the Midtown location I have no desire to continue with the company. This location is just way too small with limited equipment options. There’s only a single person restroom with one shower. There are no lockers. The only benefit is that this location is 24 hours. It’s just really not at all worth it.

I have been going to this Anytime Fitness location for almost five years now. The staff has always been super friendly and helpful, and the facilities are consistently kept clean and in good condition. If you’re looking for a friendly and clean environment to get a great workout, this is definitely the place to be, and it is conveniently located in the center of town.

Visiting town for the week and visited here at different times of the day. It has a lot of equipment, much more than many AFs, and is pretty clean with spray bottles and wipes for the equipment and such. Pretty happy with having this nearby to continue working out during a business trip.

Just look at the recent, accurate reviews. When the Bordens owned this gym it was top notch- it’s blatantly obvious a big conglomerate owns it now and does less than the bare minimum to keep the doors open. Never any wipes, dirty, broken equipment & water fountain( needs a filter if it is working), the broken window was finally fixed after 2-3 months. Don’t sign up here.

This gym is terrible! The cleanness of the facility has DRASTICALLY declined. Trash is all over the place and there is never any wipes to wipe down the equipment. A broken window by the entrance has been covered only by a wooden board for weeks. I’m surprised the building rich owners have not said anything about this- as it is a safety issue for not only the members of the gym but the other businesses in the building. I am personally not going to be coming here after being constantly disappointed. Despite reviews of fellow members, the gym owners have made little to no improvements to address these other low star reviews.

Gym has seen a consistent decline over the past year. seen countless managers come and go, Gym cleanliness and upkeep has reduced dramatically (trash cans constantly full, there hasn’t been wipes in the gym in several months, paper towels are very rare both in the gym and in bathrooms, floors aren’t vacuumed anymore, soap dispensers in bathrooms are either broken or empty etc)
Personally haven’t seen any staff in the gym in weeks. Definitely not worth the over $50 a month charge at this point in time

It’s clear the owners have given up on this place which is sad because it was nice at the start. Unsanitary and unsafe, Memorial Day Weekend was the last straw for me.

-The flooding at the water fountain station created a stench that permeated throughout the facility. The carpet in that area has been soaked and left unattended so many times I imagine mold is growing. They simply refuse to fix the water fountain situation, so more flooding is bound to happen.
-The bathrooms, particularly on the weekends, are left unclean. Like, we’re talking highway rest-stop bathroom status. Just nasty.
-Management says they are out of sanitary wipes due to a supplier shortage, but that’s just a smoke screen at this point. It’s been four months. They could change suppliers but choose not to; instead, they place a few bottles of who-knows-what cleaning product mix with a few, dry paper towel bins and assume that’s enough. The irony is they have COVID warning and cleanliness signs all over the place. The owners were committed to sanitation at one time, now they’re just cutting costs and it shows.
- Front window remains shattered, which really sucks for the owners — and I can understand the inconvenience of fixing — but that’s the nature of small business. You have to fix it. You should also come up with a more permanent fix for the key fob/ door entry. If you don’t, gym goers will feel a lack of security. I certainly do.

I’ve added a second gym membership and plan to ultimately cancel my AF plan if things aren’t resolved soon, but I don see it happening. I get a strong sense the owners are out on this property and related improvements.

This used to be one of the best gyms in town when the Bordens owed it. Clean, great atmosphere, and well kept. Now it’s rundown and overpriced. Bathrooms rarely get cleaned. Equipment is broken. Rarely a solid manager around for a few weeks to look after the place. Rotating staff and haven’t seen a personal trainer employed here in a long while.

Not recommended. Poor management and staff. Jake the trainer is rude to all members as he has zero soft skills. He threatened several members and management did not do anything. I travel a lot and use AF across the country and this is definitely the worst location. The pictures show that someone vandalized the windows and they have not replaced it for 2 months. The leak has also been a problem for 3 months. It has that skid row feeling when you are alone at 4am.

Im updating my review to warn anyone about this location and its terrible management. I am currently fighting to cancel my membership and switch gyms.

"Due to staffing issues" the posted hours on the gym are NOT staffed. The reduced staffing hours are ALSO not staffed! Good luck trying to find someone to cancel a membership that they require you to come in for, but wont be present for.

All of my texts, emails, and voicemails have been left unanswered, including my intent to cancel.
Eventually I had to revoke authorization for Anytime Fitness auto-withdraw from my bank.

When they realized they aren't getting my membership dues anymore, suddenly they were able to respond to me with a non-payment text, and I was finally able to speak with someone. They of course don't have any emails or texts of my intent to cancel, but I have screenshots of everything.

As of now, I'm still trying to cancel, and I'm not sure if I will have to escalate this issue legally or not, but I will update about my experience.

Used to be a great gym. Now it's going downhill quickly.

They never have equipment wipes, and post excuses about supply issues instead of switching suppliers.

Water fountains are constantly broken and spilling water all over the carpets.

Equipment details like carabineers are janky.

They recently moved all of the equipment and free weights in the most bizarre way, impeding traffic through the gym and limiting space between benches. Leaving bolts sticking up through the floor where equipment used to be.

The fob entry system is constantly broken.

No one is ever at the gym even during the posted office hours, and no one ever responds to calls or texts.

They changed the layout of the gym and it is awful. A small area is made to feel even smaller as all the free weights are smashed into a corner. Half the gym is dedicated to floor exercises, we don't need a giant empty void in the middle of the free weights and a section where only 2 people can use the dumb bells. I am having to lug dumbbells to a bench awkwardly placed in the middle of the room.

Please reconsider this layout ASAP.

First off, Jake has an amazing attitude towards people with disabilities. He listened to my long story first, then guided me through some very painful (at first) excercizes. Then he showed me how to improved my standing up out of my chair, to strengthen my stump for my prosthetic. Jake is amazing. I woke up this morning without pain for the first time in many months. Give the man a RAISE!!!!

Ubered there while I was in Reno to workout before my flight & ended up getting set back 45 minutes because it's listed on Google as an active location for that business & in reality, the ENTIRE building is closed down. I was livid. So if you're tryna find a gym or whatever. Just FYI, the Anytime Fitness on W. RENO will not be opening Any time. Lol It is completely shutdown & for lack of better words, abandoned.

I have paid my dues for years and years flawlessly and when it comes time to have to cancel the membership you find that it is very difficult to do when no one is staffed nor calls you back or attempts to make the effort to assist. I am now 18 days into trying to cancel my membership. Just got another auto debit out of my bank account today so they are still getting money from me, guess the strategy of ignoring my cancellation request is paying off for Anytime. I joined the gym when I moved to Reno a few months ago. The equipment, weights and workout areas are well appointed and cared for. Lots of attention to detail, from the lockers to the showers to the cleaning supplies to keep things tidy. Other members are very polite and respectful and Nate, the manager is super friendly, attentive and helpful.

Will give one star for equipment and cleanliness. Would have given more if it wasn’t for the extreme inconvenience of canceling. Use caution when signing contract at this location in particular. Owners add additional “rules and regulations” not clearly stated in contract. Nearly impossible to cancel the contract even after the required time was fulfilled. This location requires you to go in to the club to cancel your membership so they can take a photo. Beware if you are moving or traveling distances and plan to cancel your membership as it becomes much more difficult to cancel without coming into the facility. Owners claim to be transparent about additional requirements and are the furthest from transparent. This is an organization that I recommend to read EVERY line of the contract and ask for written clarification for “gray areas” prior to signing. There are plenty of other local gyms or Anytimes not owned by the this owner. I would recommend doing some research before signing up. Side note the Anytime in Carson City is FANTASTIC!

The Borden Group Anytime Fitness here in Midtown Reno is a super clean facility. You always see someone cleaning including the owners.
