I signed up for a 3 month membership here last summer and have unsuccessfully tried to cancel for the last 9 months - last month I was told they’d finally let me cancel by emailing a cancellation request and yet I was charged again when this month rolled around. BEWARE OF THE CANCELLATION POLICY – GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING!

I was a loyal member for years, with my daughter as an add-on to my account. When I was promoted and began traveling weekly for work, I asked to cancel my membership. I no longer had time to attend Hotworx or travel with the required mat and towel.

When I originally signed up, I was told I could cancel at any time with no penalty. I attempted to cancel in August 2024 and was told instead that I could do a product exchange. I agreed, hoping to make use of the membership. By December, I expressed again that it wasn’t worth the $80/month since I wasn’t using the service.

At that point, I was told I needed to give 90 days’ notice (and that my August request didn’t count). The only alternative was to pay $99 to cancel immediately. I agreed and was charged $99 on January 2nd.

Despite this, I noticed I was still being charged for my daughter’s add-on. I texted Holly and was then told my daughter was no longer considered an add-on and now had a separate account—requiring another $99 to cancel. This was never explained when I first tried to cancel.

I have called multiple times, left messages, and even submitted a contact form on the website assuming it was going to corporate. It’s now three months later, and I’m still being charged. I ultimately had to report the charges as fraud and cancel my cards.

Always read the fine print and get every promise in writing. This has been a very disappointing and frustrating experience.

I have been going to HOTWORX for about a year and a half now and I love it! The work out environment is positive and encouraging, but still challenging. I love that I can workout in my own sauna, it feels like my own space. And the heat just adds a relaxing environment on top! The gym is clean and the staff is friendly!

I was a member for about a year and 3/4 months and absolutely loved it. However about a month ago a had a conflict with another member. When I signed up I was told that the members of this gym were respectful of each others spaces and time and avoided signing up for each others saunas because “who wants to work out next to a sweaty man in a sauna?” . However this man was the ONLY member (as far as I know) that would sign up for other people’s saunas without asking. When I told him about this he kept telling me that he is friends with the owner and he is allowed to sign up for any sauna he wants. I messaged the owner about this and she left me on seen. So I contacted the gym and when they talked to me they told me that “he is an ambassador for their gym, he has lost 85lbs, and spends a lot of money there” they even said that the know he is a “boundary pusher” This made me feel extremely uncomfortable. i went in the following day to cancel my membership but the staff member told me that they would talk to him about it. I don’t think anything was ever done because I never had anyone follow up with me. I didn’t go the entire month of August because it felt unsafe / I was waiting to hear back from them about any updates. So I finally canceled my membership a few days ago which made me sooo sad because I absolutely LOVED going there :(

Edit: I changed my rating down to 1 after further reflection of what happened to me and how it was handled (or more like ignored by the owner to protect her friend)

I’m a newer member who wanted to share my experience so far. I like the gym itself however I’ve had one bad experience that left me with a bad taste. I was putting in my code to get into the facility and it would not open. An associate then lets me in and she asked for my name. I tell her my name and go to my reserved station as I was running late. When I got to my station I realized I forgot my water and I go to my car to get it. The lady who let me in then asks me are you new here? you seemed frustrated when I asked for your name (in a condescending tone) and then introduced herself as the owner. I told her no I was just having trouble with my pin..she asked me, well do you have the app on your phone. It rubbed me the wrong way because as the owner your suppose to be welcoming and friendly to all new or not.

I have been working out since I was 25 and am now am much much older 😆 I have always felt uncomfortable in a gym setting but knew it was a necessity in continuing my health journey! For a gym that is owned and primarily operated by women, it was very disheartening to see how they handled a case of harassment towards a woman.

My friend was harassed by a man via a situation where he demanded to share a sauna. To clarify, he invaded her personal space, said very rude things, and proceeded to mock her. This occurred with multiple women and it happened on more than one occasion. But the fact was he never even asked to share a sauna, he just did it and claimed it was his right. Not only that, but he was only talked to, not banned from the location or the gym itself. According to Hotworx Contract, under “Courtesy”, it states people “may” be asked to share saunas as a method of accommodating other guests and foster “group improvement,” it is not a requirement. In the “Cleanliness and Conduct” section of that same contract “Negative Attitudes” is one of the behaviors that can result in termination of membership. It made me disgusted to think that people can get away with things just because of how much money they bring the company or who they are friends with (my friend was the one that recommended this gym to me so I guess if they want to play that game that way, we can). Besides, how is that going to look if a woman has a problem with a man, then shows up and he’s still there because all he got was a talking to? The gym is 24 hours but there isn’t always staff on site. Now this woman is potentially alone with a man that knows she went to management on him. Do the math.

As a man myself, I realize how it comes across to be a physically larger individual. In a cramped space, being near strangers in an environment where tight/revealing clothing, strange positioning, and proximity to each other are all factors, men have to be aware of the fact that some women just aren’t going to be comfortable with working out 3 feet from male strangers in a sweat box. And that is perfectly okay, there are other workouts and equipment at that location. Have some respect if they say no and go do your workout somewhere else. Pick a different time slot or sauna. There are tons of options. But always ask and put yourselves in their shoes when they give a negative answer.

Lastly the cancellation. For a case of harassment, they did not even offer to waive the cancellation fees in my friend’s case. This is the literal least that could be done. I even gave them a “second” chance during my cancellation, and they still made me pay. And to date, I haven’t heard back on if they ever went to my friend to pay her back.

As Joey Swoll always says “You need to do better.”

If you are a woman who doesn’t want big, sweaty men towering over you in a sauna while you downward dog, I would suggest finding an alternative to Hotworx until they fix their Codes of Conduct and actually abide by them. There are a couple of other negative reviews on here that talk about this company “nickel and diming” so I can only conclude that they are right.

The facility is extremely clean and the staff is amazing. Extremely friendly and welcoming without any pressure or judgement. I am a weightlifter that hits the weights 4-5 times a week and attending these hot sessions increased my flexibility, help with my recovery and was also very rejuvenating regarding my mental health. I had to move out of state urgently to take care of a family member and they made my cancellation process so smooth and seamless. Highly recommend! No matter where you're at in your fitness journey, these hot sessions will definitely benefit you greatly.

This is my favorite place to work out that I have found. The staff is friendly and the sauna is always impeccably clean and fresh smelling. The deals are good and there is always something new dropping for workouts in the individual sauna. I’m used to crowded classrooms in a heated yoga workout setting so the privacy in these are awesome and it always feels good doing the HIIT machines, cycling, rowing and a hybrid elliptic bikes. The owner takes a lot of pride in her location and you can tell. There’s a lot of free weights and workout equipment in the back that isn’t heated! Check it out!

I became a member on January 23rd looking for a way to spice up my workout routine. I love the boutique feel, private sauna workout rooms, and the varied classes. I am currently down 20lbs, and I owe to Hotworx-Henderson. I crave my workout sessions and love the feeling of the infared heat!!! Can't wait for the next 90 days.

Update July 10th, 2023, still holding strong at 20lbs down. Close to almost another 27,000 calories burned in 90 days. Getting stronger every day. 💪

Update November 13th, 2023, down 32 lbs total for the year and about 5 lbs away from goal.

Best exercise experience ever! When I started, I never thought I was going to last. I love yoga, but I wasn't to excited about the heat. When I realized how many different exercises you are able to do, I became a bonfire aficionado! Cross training all week long. I was able to go hotter in the sauna and I noticed the positive changes in my body and my attitude towards life in general, I feel in love with this place. Totally recommend 👌

I just signed up to be a member pretty recently and I'm already loving this studio! I joined for the hot yoga and the hot pilates but they have a ton more options (cycle, rowing, core etc). I really like that it's a class you can follow along with, but you also have your own private sauna. You can even control your own temperature. I also loved that you could try the first class for free, and they're so nice and helpful when signing you up. I think if you're looking to improve your health or just overall feel better, I would definitely recommend Hotworx 😊

I joined 2 weeks ago today and I wish I joined sooner!! It’s been difficult to find a gym where I feel welcomed and actually CRAVE going to - but HotWorx is it!!! Just another place that finds a way to take your money. Was told by office staff, "you can cancel after 90 days". Surprise, surprise let them take my money for 90 days and once it was time to cancel they charged me $100 bucks. The manager and young lady told me it was too bad when I disputed the charge claiming that it was stated in the contract. That's fine, totally fine but just so everyone knows read the fine print on your hotworx contracts cause they will scam you for every penny they can get.Also! highly recommend reading the BBB reviews prior to signing up. I only signed up for a three month membership. I liked it even! That was late last year. Since then, despite leaving numerous messages, talking to someone via email, and having a cancellation of service in my email - I am STILL being charged a monthly membership fee. I have disputed charges each month with my bank, and notified Hotworx by phone. They won't ever take you off of their billing. Not recommended if you ever want to cancel service.

If I could give this place more stars I would!! Coming to this Hotworx location has become one of my favorite things to do and I can definitely feel it on the days I don't go.
My body is changing, my mind is changing and everyone there is incredibly inspiring.
I usually see Kate ♡ who has been so friendly and inviting. The owner Holly and manager Nikki are also there frequently showing their faces which says a lot about how the business is ran and are always checking on us members.
They all truly makes you feel like you belong in there.
