We’ve been with Ignite for 6 years now My daughter started with just one ballet class and now competes in their company team for two years now. My daughter recently started her pointe class- something she dreamed for for so long. The owner made the whole experience so special. When we moved to the area and settled in, my daughter expressed a desire to get back into dance classes. I was apprehensive as I am fully aware that the "dance world" can be less than kind and I had no one here that I could ask for a reference from. After Googling and reading websites, we decided to give Ignite Dance Center a try. I loved that they believe in age-approproiate songs, costuming, and routines and that they have an expectation of character - all important things to us. Since enrolling, we have been continually impressed and beyond happy with our experience.

What began as one recreational class quickly turned into two and it has only increased from there because my daughter's love for the art has done nothing but grown since being enrolled at Ignite Dance Center. She feels genuinely cared for by each teacher and cannot wait to go to her classes. Ignite was once a studio we were genuinely proud to be part of. We bought into the "Good Vibes Only", and for several years, it truly felt like a positive, welcoming space for both students and parents. Unfortunately, that environment has steadily declined—while this studio may offer programs that initially appeal to families seeking strong dance training, the overall atmosphere is unfortunately dominated by the owner's unprofessional behavior.

Over time, it became clear that concerns—especially about student treatment and behavior—were either quietly dismissed or not taken seriously, particularly when they involved individuals close to the studio owner. What could have been opportunities for healthy dialogue and support were instead met with defensiveness, avoidance, or silence. Feedback often wasn’t accepted constructively, and those trying to advocate for a stronger, more positive community felt shut out or even penalized.

Communication became a recurring and painful issue. When parents raised questions or sought clarity on matters affecting student well-being or fairness, they often felt stonewalled. Rather than support teamwork and personal growth, the environment began to reflect anxiety, favoritism, and exclusion. Even after years of dedication—through seasons, events, and consistent support—our family’s eventual departure wasn’t acknowledged in even the smallest way. No thank you, no goodbye—just silence.

One deeply troubling aspect has been the studio owner’s unprofessional conduct. She regularly sits in the lobby and openly discusses personal matters of other families, including her grievances or conflicts with them. This ongoing gossip culture has created a space that feels anything but welcoming. Students and parents alike have witnessed and overheard these conversations, leading to an atmosphere thick with tension and distrust. Some parents now avoid the lobby entirely, waiting in their cars or sitting outside rather than exposing themselves to the negativity inside.

More alarming is the fear many parents feel around speaking up. Advocating for your child can quickly become risky if it clashes with the owner’s opinions. There’s a real concern that dancers might suffer consequences—being left out of key parts, overlooked for opportunities, or just outright being called a liar. This culture of fear is not only unhealthy but completely counter to what a youth dance environment should represent and the core values touted by the studio owner.

And if that's not enough, the owner often speaks disparagingly about other local studios in front of parents and students, fostering a false sense of isolation. Parents are left feeling trapped—as if no better alternatives exist while being made to feel that leaving Ignite would be a betrayal rather than a personal choice rooted in what’s best for their child.

While the studio may offer classes and experiences that initially seem enticing, the atmosphere beneath the surface is fraught with gossip, favoritism, and strained communication. In a place intended to nurture talent and build confidence, this environment falls short of its potential due to leadership that breeds anxiety rather than empowerment. It's a disappointing reality for many families caught between wanting the best for their child and enduring the discomfort of a toxic studio culture.

Update:The owner's response only proves my point — it’s easy for her to dismiss a long‑time family once we're no longer happy, even after we supported her studio for many years. That history and loyalty deserve more than a polite dismissal, but I won't hold my breath.

Ignite Dance Studio has taken my daughter's hobby and turned it into a full blown passion. She's not just learning dance moves, she's growing as a person. I love that she looks up to her teachers and also learns from the older students and alumni. As a mom of young girls, having strong role models is huge and Ignite nails that.

The other parents feel like a team. We celebrate the wins together and support each other through the tough days. The studio keeps us in the loop with schedules and expectations so there's no last minute stress, and it never interferes with school.

No place is perfect but Ignite gives our kids a safe, inspiring space to do what they love. And that's what matters most.

After being a part of 3 different studios in the valley, I have found my families forever dance home. The owner and staff run a very family friendly studio in an encouraging and positive environment focusing on the growth and development of each dancer to reach their potential - not the expectations of judges and or other studios or parents. At Ignite, my child is more than just a tuition payment. More than a trophy or bragging rights. My child is seen. My child is loved and accepted. Ignite Dance studio has become an extension of my family and the comradery I have gained with other dance parents reaches far beyond the sterotypical "dance mom" archetype. We are a village. First, I am a retired school and dance teacher. I taught dance for 43 years. So saying that, I’m very picky about my grand daughter’s dance education. She danced at a studio for a few years and her last year there was not the atmosphere we wanted for her. Ignite is the place my daughter chose. I’ve had the opportunity to observe classes for a full year here on the tv screens in the lobby and attend many performances. The owner, Lisa Prentice, runs the studio in a kind, caring manner with a positive attitude! She is a professional from communicating with the parents to classroom instruction. There is a family atmosphere here that welcomed us in very quickly! My grand daughter actually is disappointed when there’s a holiday and no classes! Our children love their dance family. The dance teachers & staff are great. 3 of our children have enjoyed being apart of this studio the past 2 years. Our one daughter was looking forward to to her third year on teams. Excited she finally got a Solo. Unfortunately we got a devastating email from the owner on Father's Day saying they have chosen to dismiss our whole family from the studio. This was completely devastating and heartbreaking. We never got a face to face meeting to discuss this discussion. We'll never completely know why choices where made. Pray that this doesn't happen to other families. It just never felt like the warm, welcoming family people told me it was. On the day of my daughter’s trial class the studio was chaotic, and no one welcomed us or seemed happy that my daughter was there. Her instructors were great. We would have kept her there despite not ever getting that warm, fuzzy feeling but, ultimately, my daughter wasn’t interested in dance. She gave it the old preschooler try but it wasn’t a fit at this time. Given the first impressions, I don’t think I’d be back if she ever wanted to give it another go.

5 Stars for Ignite Dance Center! After relocating to Henderson last year, my daughter decided she wanted to give dance another try in hopes of making new friends, building confidence and sparking a new passion. I looked at many dance studios in the area and Ignite was the only studio I found that offered beginner/intermediate classes for ages 11+. My daughter is quite tall for her age and hadn't danced since she was 3 years old, she was very nervous that she would be 'stuck' in a class of 'beginners' that were much younger than her and she wouldn't have an opportunity to make friends and build her self-confidence. We signed up for a trial class, the staff and parents in the lobby were so friendly and welcoming. After class, my shy daughter had mixed emotions of not being able to keep up in the class but also wanting to try again. We decided to enroll her into the class and she showed up every week and every week she was encouraged by the other dancers and Coach Katie! After a whole season with Ignite, my daughter has a new found confidence, new friends and great memories. I couldn't be happier to be part of Ignite Dance Center!

TBH I wasn't sure if I was going to like this place. Being a first time parent I was unsure of how things worked and I had a lot of questions so I left a couple of voice messages. I later received notifications through the app which answered some of my questions. It wasn't until after my kid started the class that I received a callback. They let me know it was because they were not in that other location much during summer. I did appreciate the call me back, but I do suggest that they try to monitor their phones/messages a little more. Now that I am learning this process and their calendar a little more, I am not feeling as frustrated. Once I met the staff in person, they were courteous and answered all the questions I had at the moment. I also appreciate their dance pass options because this allowed a new incoming student like my kiddo to try out different classes to see which one she wanted to focus on. I also appreciate their concern for child safety, making sure to keep the students in the studio until a parent picks them up. Most of all my kiddo did enjoy the classes and the instructors.

Having just moved from overseas my priority for my middle school dancer’s transition was to find a studio she could call home. Having had a terrible experience with a trial at another studio , my daughter fit in seamlessly with both the quality of instruction as well as Ignite’s culture. I enrolled my 2 granddaughters a couple of months ago and it's one of the best decisions I could have made. They absolutely love it and really look forward to going. This is the school that you want to enroll your kids at. I cannot say enough about how much we love Ignite! Ms. Ashton is our sons teacher and we all love her. The teachers are highly qualified. Most of them have been dancing since they were kids then went on to learn to teach dance professionally. The owner of Ignite danced herself then went on to own a studio. These ladies truly LOVE dance! I love all the administrative staff as well. They're attentive, kind and professional. Ignite is a wonderful studio and I am so thankful for all of the staff. My four year old has been attending for the past 18-months and she loves it! We first started doing 'mommy and me' classes and she was very confident when she transitioned into a class without me. I honestly don’t want to give 1 star. My 3 year old was treated like garbage. The teacher makes it a popularity contest. Yelled at the girls through out the class. Wasn’t patient at all. Very fake to my face. The office lady is the rudest person I ever met. Awful environment for my 3 year old. The moms were ignorant. This isn’t about the moms it’s about the kids jerks. Your studio was not very nice. They charge way to much for nothing. Hey teacher work with all kids not just 1. The teacher worked with maybe 2 girls out of all the girls. From what I’ve seen so for it look like a beautiful and great dance experience for my granddaughter Kadence Domingo. I took dance when I was younger also ballet, tap, but I loved jazz dancing the best. Even at the advanced age of 67 I still love to dance, it keeps you young. Our home away from home! My daughter has been dancing at Ignite Dance Studio for over a year now and there is no place comparable. We were at another studio for 5 years and it was very disorganized to say the least. We decided to find a new place and Lisa and her staff welcomed us with open arms! They went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and provided us with a welcome folder that had everything about the studio, classes and recitals. Lisa Prentice has hired a phenomenal team of dancers for all ages, and she is an extraordinarily kind dance teacher as well. I have really enjoyed her expressive choreography, and she is always positive, which helps my young dancer gain strong confidence in her skills. The very first recital blew me away! Oh my gosh!!! I love this studio and I’m so glad I found the ad on Instagram. Lisa the owner is one of the best teachers and I’m amazed with her patience she has. My 4 year old can be stubborn as a mule at times and Lisa still keeps her composure and teaches her the moves she needs to do. Let’s not mention the prices are super reasonable and I finally found something that’s more than 6 weeks long. Thank you Lisa and the whole Ignite Dance Studio for welcoming us into their dance family. I can’t wait to see how well she performs in June. She’s come so far since she started in October.

Seriously the best dance studio! We've tried a few studios over the last 10 years and this one is by far and above the rest in quality instruction and growth for all dancers. Our daughter loves it here! Everyone is so kind and truly make you feel like family. Prices are competitive with other studios. Lisa Prentice (the owner) is one of the best instructors in the industry. I highly recommend giving this studio a try.

Ignite Dance Center is AMAZING! The studio is clean, family-oriented, and fun. Our family has been receiving quality technique from Lisa Prentice for the past 5 years, and we couldn't ask for a more friendly and welcoming studio owner/teacher. She makes her students feel comfortable and proud of themselves, and offers them great constructive feedback and goals to work on. The studio offers a separate parent room where little ones can play and read books while they wait, or the front foyer has live video feeds from the dance rooms so you can watch your dancer strut their stuff. We are so thankful to be a part of the new Ignite Dance family and we couldn't ask for a better studio to call home.
