Hi! I really enjoy coming to this gym — it’s a great space and has everything I need for my workouts. I just wanted to share some feedback: during peak hours, it’s been difficult to find space to exercise since one of the main rooms is often closed off for classes like Zumba. Children gym staff sucks. when you set down a full stack of weight, it will make noise. Gym staff walked up to talk to someone else first then I took off my headphones to look over and said never mind we need to talk to him. They didn’t even know who they wanted to complain about but did it anyways.

gym owner for the Fallon/Fernley location banned my account not over a rule violation, not over my Facebook post, but over my comment on someone else’s Facebook post that that was already questioning his professionalism.

I pointed out how he had staff that wasn’t enforcing rules evenly when it came to slamming weights. I also pointed out that after installing powerlifting equipment, if you were powerlifting that you got shot looks by staff. So for that I said he was kind of an ass with how it’s run.

In the months past I got talked to for “slamming weights”. While I disagreed that I was, I still made sure to be more cautious about how I set down weights from then forward.

He lacks the ability of taking criticism and gets combative on any point of criticism regardless if it’s repeatedly commented on by others or different issues altogether. This can be seen by his responses in any negative review of the gym or someone expressing dissatisfaction for the gym.

Just because I disagree with the owner doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy the gym itself. I can get a good workout but the owner is ultimately the issue. The fact that he will quite literally ban you for any criticism of him is a problem in itself.

The equipment is well maintained and the facility is clean. My issue is with the manager. I had to cancel my membership and asked for an exception on the 30 day notice and to only pay the $50 cancelation fee as I had not reached the 1 year membership yet. She said, in a very rude manner, they don't give exceptions ever and she could print up my signed agreement stating that if I needed proof. She ended with "Is there anything else I can help you with?" If that is a corporate position then fine but how the answer is delivered makes a huge impact on word of mouth references and returning membership when it becomes possible. Her actions shaped my decision to return in the future and definitely darkens any views I will pass on to friends and family.

summer time I believe in the year 2022:
The one time i went to fit for 10 in Fernley NV to workout with a free trial the gym smelled like booty and was quite overcrowded had to wait in line for 2 different machines . on a positive note the gym
had several different machines for different muscle groups

2 years later i signed up for onepass select which gives me access to 12,000 gyms all
over the USA including fit for10 in Fernly.
therefore : I wanted to give Fit for 10
another shot . why not ? i’m a member now right .

i called in about a week ago from today which is 2/28/24 at about 8 am to explain to the front desk lady I’m a member with onepass select & I needed access to the gym .
she says i’ve never heard of that before you cannot come in til 10 am when my manager arrives .
so with that being said i canceled & just went to anytime fitness . i simply did not want to wait hours to receive access to a gym i’m already a member with .

now today which is 2/28/24 i called in again around 930/940 am told them the same i’m coming on in to receive access to a gym i’m already a member with . i arrive approximately 10 min later and start talking to the manager.
i explained to her in a member here is my membership code & this is my name .

she then asked for
my ID which i thought was strange because anytime i’ve ever handed over my member code and name to a gym the gyms have never asked for my ID.
anyways..
i said no problem i have a picture of my drivers license inside my photo album.

she said no that won’t work i need a physical copy . i explained to her i pay 28$ monthly
for
onepass select and that i am a
member with a member code . she said no you need to pay me 10$ in order to workout here .

i explained once again i have a photo ID in my photo album and i don’t think i should have to pay anything i’m a member who already pays . i even tried to get a free pass and again she declined telling me i need to pay 10$ . she said i don’t need a ID for the 10$ daily pass

at this point i’m a angered just drove out of the way called before i came
in and this manager at fit for 10

I don’t like this gym for a ton of reasons. The hours, the $50 cancellation fee, the crowds, how small it is, the unprofessional staff (when I first signed up I had to tell the lady that was explaining the whole thing a bunch of times that I already had paid for the membership she kept trying to charge me again for a second and then eventually the manager that could’ve just taken over told her that sometimes there is a delay.) then I hate all the most ridiculous rules I’ve ever heard of. Don’t slam the medicine balls, don’t drop weights, no excessive grunting…. I mean the list just goes on and on you wouldn’t think they need that many rules. Oh and they charge for the sauna which is just the cheapest tiniest sauna you can’t even stand up in there. No punching bags, and no massage room. Says Sundays are closed, you have to figure out that you have to scan your keycard at the door to get in on those days on your own. I could just keep going on but I will stop there. 0 stars if I could

Got a membership online, went during googles stated staffed hours to get my key card and work out, but no staff was there, door was locked, and no one answered the phone. Their voice-mail was also full so I just left. I don't know what their actual staffed hours are but no one was there during what Google says is staffed. Super disappointing.

Stay away. Contract is vague at best. I had to cancel due to illness. I paid their franchise billing service on two occasions to cancel. I then recieved a call from the manager telling me I had to cancel in person. She was extremely rude about it. I let her know I was bed ridden at that time and that I had made my final payment. Then months later I've received a call from a attorney to receive 34.00 dollar cancelation payment. These people have no shame. In the short time I used this facility I must say the staff was less than helpful and down right rude. Now, this is a small town with not many choices. However, it's growing can't wait to see some competition for this establishment.

I feel I was unfairly charged due to a mistake by one of your employees. During our conversation to cancel my membership your employee failed to mention that I had to be there in person to cancel. Since I don't make their policies and don't work there I don't know what any of them are so all I can go by is what I'm told. Because of the honest mistake by the employee it caused me to continually get charged for a membership I was under the impression was canceled. When I called to the actual Fernley location the girl I spoke to did not care about my situation one bit in fact told me there's nothing she can do and that she needs to hang up she didn't even offer to speak to a manager, but I asked her to speak to a manager and she did allow it. The manager was much more professional and understanding but she still wanted to blame me for everything and just mentioned how she can't do anything because of her policy the same policy that was not mentioned to me during the phone call of me canceling my Membership. They based the fact that I was wrong on I couldn't remember who I spoke to and phone calls that she said I got every month this year which I didn't get. If I was getting phone calls every month in 2023 which I don't have a membership for I would have definitely called in to see what was going on. During this phone call the manager without using the exact words accused me of lying about the employee failing to tell me to cancel in person, she basically accused me of trying to get out of payment as well when I make plenty of money with the job I bust my butt at every day. I signed up for a membership in February of 2022 I have never step foot past the front counter because of a shoulder surgery I had to have, it is now October of 2023 and I still have never stepped foot past the front counter of that gym yet I'm being charged $170 and that's after I paid every month except December of 2022. It is crazy to me that you guys would not want to take care of a customer. I will always have a bad taste in my mouth from your company and unless somebody does something about this I will definitely be leaving the worst reviews on every platform I can reach and it's not a threat I just don't want people who don't make that much money getting stuck in a situation that I'm in luckily I will pay what they're telling me I owe just so it doesn't end up on my credit but the only thing that I did wrong was not pay one bill in December of 2022 that is it. If you would like to call to talk about this it would be great to hear from someone who can actually make a difference if not don't bother wasting my time. And just like every person who leaves them a bad review they will reply accusing them of something they didn't do just like the guy Jason Fritz down below. I was raised to respect people I was nothing but respectful with these people there is nothing they can say that will make me believe I've done anything wrong. You guys are in the wrong you just don't want to admit it.

Great environment. My personal trainer Jaime was amazing!!! My only disappointment is they have TVs, but you can't even request they change it to something else. Like what's the purpose? I wanted to watch the NBA finals and was told they're not allowed to change the TV. Seems a little ridiculous. I don't wanna watch FOX news! Nor do I want to watch CNN, but if you're going to play FOX news may as well play CNN too.

This is a horrible gym. The employees are rude and fail to answer questions or the phone. If you cancel your membership they will loose the paperwork and say that it was never canceled in the first place and continue to charge you. Great gym. I started going a few months ago, and I haven't had a bad experience. It's pretty much never dirty, and everyone is nice. The variety of different things you can use is helpful too, I've never had a time where I couldn't find the necessary tools for a workout.

Cleanliness:10/10 (muddy days show some dirt on the floor but it's gone quickly)
Workout Variety: 9.9/10(only thing I see missing is more ab stuff, but even still it's not like there isn't any)

My entire family and I have been coming to this gym for 2+ years. As the number of members increase, the small workout room is getting very crowded. Not sure why the front desk (including managers) are not willing to open up the larger workout room. My HIIT workout which is part of my daily workout requires a small space. Because the smaller room was so crowded I asked the assistant manager (short, blond hair, day shift on Friday). She immediately was bothered and quickly said there’s a class in there until 9:50. It was around 8:45ish when I asked. I looked in the larger room and nobody was in there. She should have checked and should have been more considerate, there was no need for that kind of quick and wrong response. This wasn’t the first time I encountered this type of behavior. This is really unfortunate and inconvenient. It disrupts daily routine workouts. Management should reconsider making the larger room available to members outside of the scheduled classes times. COVID is not an excuse anymore so not sure why that room is not being made available. In fact, the smaller room is more of a risk for COVID because it’s so small and gets crowded quickly. My membership renewal is coming up soon and I am reevaluating if I am going to renew it based on my experience. And, I will sharing this experience with friends and family. Hope my feedback will be taken with value.

Right off the bat I noticed how professional all the staff is from the moment I walked through the door. Everyone is polite and courteous. The entire gym is the cleanest and neatest gym I have ever been to my entire life. The patrons no matter what their skill level are polite and helpful. It is a complete gym that covers everything you might night need to get your workout on. It even has an on duty child care area with knowledgable staff taking care of your children. Overall I can't say enough good things about the gym and I'm very happy to have found this place.

Would never recommend this place to a friend, read all the reviews before making a decision to sign the 1 year contract!! This place is very unprofessional, I could overlook that if it were possible to effectively workout, however the equipment is so limited, the one stair master they own has been down since April, ladies room is always dirty, the one small 10x10 room they have to stretch stinks and is packed with old equipment and people trying to workout and stretch. Super overrated, if I could get out of my contract I would guys! Not even an injury and a doctors note could terminate my contract, the owner/management still wanted a 30 day notice and $50!!

Applied for a one month membership decided I didn't like the place. Basic equipment and weights which is fine but not for the type of workout I prefer. The only space that could be utilized comfortably for things like yoga is the Small private workout room where the walls are dirty and plain white with zero motivation and a great deal of the items in that room are quite dirty and grimy. Five days into this membership wishing I could get my money back it's a shame.

As for the response to the owner that is my screen name. And I think you just showed everyone what type of person and owner you really are with your comment. Do you watch these reviews to attack your patrons that are unhappy with your service. Are you really so close-minded that you can't possibly think that your facility might deserve one star. Shame on you.

I had a account that I had forgotten about and it went to collections- (reasonable that is my fault no blame there)

What was really awesome is I came in planning to pay off my old balance and try to get back to working out. They worked with me to get me goin and back in the gym I ended up being able to take what I owed and push it forward for a 1 year membership. I really enjoyed the customer service side.

Facilities are nice I havn't had and issues there with a good variety of equipment. If you go late at night a few of the paper towel dispensers may be empty so you might have to go to a dif room to get paper towels which I recommend doing to wipe equipment BEFORE and after you use because some people are not quite that considerate. But not really any fault of the facility and something you would potentially see anywhere. Recommend

After working out literally around the world from my time in the army and being a former personal trainer, I have used countless gyms and own a garage gym. I have worked out directly under the link alarm at planet fitness, and have never been told to stop “letting the weights drop.” I work out by myself and when at a public gym never drop the weights. So when I’m approached by an owner or manager to tell me to stop letting the weights drop ( that I guided back down onto the rubber soft enough that the dumbbell didn’t fall of its side) and respond that I didn’t, and get accused of it again and get told they are watching the weights bounce. Again on rubber and didn’t even fall from its side so if it did we’re talking mm here. You can keep your gym I like mine better anyways my water heater is out and that’s the only reason I have been going in to begin with.

Signed up, and PAID for a new membership online for a family member. The next day when he went to use the gym he was turned away because I did not come in and sign paperwork. Again, the facility charged my account and I agreed to the online terms. Terms say account is active bring in ID. When asked they would not offer a free day pass until I could get to the gym to "sign" the papers. They offered to let him use it for $5.00, again after they charged my card 39.99. Needless to say I will be going in to cancel and going to Anytime Fitness. Appears contracts and “policies” are subjectively enforced.

Update: went in spoke with Rachel who made it clear she did not want us as members. During our interaction she yelled at me for expressing my belief about the reason the member was treated differently. Later, as we walked out, laughing and joking about the interaction with another member. Glad we see eye to eye on something. She issued a cancellation and refund (in 3 days). I don't often post reviews but felt what happened today was not only illegal but also incredibly poor customer service. To add the public humiliation, or attempt at it, was over the top. I don't know anything about other Fitness 10 gyms, my review is solely for the one in Fernley. Thankfully we have options in the community!

Whatever happens, don’t go to this gym. I went sign up to this gym because of a specific personal trainer that I’m comfortable working with. One day they fired him for some reason and someone called me and FORCE ME to still continue my gym training with different trainer even I don’t want to because they said I signed up for it but just different trainer. I tried with the different trainer one day because i’m being forced and still want me to charge even i’m not going so I tried but I’m not comfortable training with her and she seems don’t care to do it. I’m so mad about it and never came back. I feel so frustrated! 3 months after, debt collector send me letter says I owe ff10 fernley a $416.. I’m so shock so I called the ff10 and I only owe them $190. I told the lady in ff10 i’ll pay that and cancel it but she declined and she told me to paid the debt collector so I called them and told them you might have the wrong amount but the collector told me that’s the exact amount. I ask them if they can give me a breakdown of everything why I need to pay that amount and he goes no. You need to talk to ff10 which is I already did. And by the way, the trainer thing is already CANCELED LONG TIME AGO! And the ff10 fernley confirmed that! I FEEL SCAMMED!

I like the location the facility is at and the equipment is nicely maintained. However it's little things that make me give a lower rating. I'm trying to be stronger in power lifting and before I moved here I had high numbers. So the fact chalk is prohibited here bothers me because I can't achieve the numbers I used to have. And they won't accept it here because it's "messy." To be honest, as a military man; I find that to be just laziness. In my experience at other gyms, if "I" used chalk, "I" was required to clean it up. It kills 2 birds with 1 stone. The facility is clean and I perform at my best. But right now I can't perform at my best because you don't want take 5 minutes to sweep a floor, or just give myself cleaning supplies

I’ve worked out at this gym for about 3 years now. The equipment is top notch and well maintained. The staff does a great job of being friendly and keeping everything clean on a daily basis as well.This gym far outweighs its competitors in the area. COVID changes and rude service! I loved this gym before the owner and his daughter started hanging around! His daughter was rude to me on multiple occasions!
I pre payed for a year of membership (the most expensive so I could get classes and have daycare), also upfront payed for 6 sessions with a trainer!
3 months into COVID rules changing I call and ask if I can be refunded for the upcoming months I won’t be coming back for and had good reasons:
1. They fired the only female trainer they had... which was what I payed for and only had two sessions with.
2. They no longer had daycare and I wouldn’t have anyone to watch my son.
3. No sauna anymore (which was a big selling point originally).

Not only was she rude but she couldn’t understand that this was shady. I signed up, payed in full with no expectation of not being able to use the things I pay for, than being told “oh well it’s state regulations” ?
Well that why you need insurance and other business precautions. I know all business suffered but it is not your customers fault. This is just not how this needs to be handled. I asked if there was a way to pause my membership until things changed and that was a hard no.
Also after I explained how much money I would be loosing and to at least let me get my money back for the trainer.
The trainers are brought in from some other company and they don’t take responsibility for them.
So I got over 9 months of a 12 month membership wasted and 4 hour sessions with a trainer.
This place will never care about the customers!

I love this gym. I moved here from alabama about year and a half ago. I had a wonderful gym in alabama n thought I wouldn't be abel to find one like it again. Well I was wrong I did n it is this awesome place. Been a member for over a year now!!!

Well more disappointed than anything. It was a clean area to work out for the most part and it was close to home. But the customer service and policy are horrible. I tried to keep my account with them and they were so unwilling to work with me it was unreal. I have been a VIP member along with my kids membership. So we paid out for two VIP membership s up front then the monthly and now I ask them to put my account on hold for a few months or lower my membership to the $10.00 plan and they refused on every level. I asked the lady why they don't wont to work with people and she shrugged her shoulders at me and said " uh just our policy. But if you want to quit it will cost you $50.00 for each account."

I paid the $100 bucks and will be going to 24 hour.
I will never refer anyone to this gym. I will also be talking to the people I know that do go to this gym about the poor experience I have had. They are only after a quick buck and not building long term customers.

Was visiting Fernley for a few days and the hotel fitness center was closed. Enter Fitness for 10, you can buy a day pass for $5 equipment was awesome well maintained and clean. I will be back the next few days.

Bad business with suspending due to COVID than reopening and charging three consecutive months of dues to both of our accounts with payment method not authorizing. Never attempted to make contact they just let the bill add up! Then they sent me and my husband to collection. I learned of this with receiving a collection bill. Never tried to reach out to see if we had a new method of payment, wanted to cancel, nothing! Plus we were not in a contract. Called the collection company had to pay the three months plus a bunch of fees. Then the lady tells me its required of them to ask if we would like to go back to the gym.... are you kidding me

My husband Allan and I moved from Reno in August and have been members since then. WE have used this club more than any in the past. We found the annual VIP membership a great deal, 24 hour access (WAY LESS than the other 24 hour place), you can bring a guest ANYTIME. It is CLEAN, lots of equipment and free weights, classes, tanning (we use prior to sunny vacations in the winter). Even the $10/mo deal for staffed hours are great - they show up 30 minutes earlier than scheduled.Management is available and friendly! Other customers are polite and keep things clean as they use them, too! I like to come in super early (still dark) and appreciate the lit parking, locked access, emergency necklace buttons you can wear as you workout and codes for the locker rooms at night. Their great training staff have taught me so much about losing weight doing cardio and weights, stretching and fixing my own back issues after years of pain. It has literally changed my life. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

Staying in the area and my husband Jim went to the gym today. Plenty of machines and free weights! Friendly staff, reasonable daily rates (which is unusual) and the owner is a great guy. If you're looking for an excellent place, look no further!

Edit: changed to a 4 star, because they answered and made some changes about the tanning booth. Also, informed me on asking to use the bigger workout room whenever and they would accommodate it.

Ok, there is a lot of things wrong with this gym. First you have to request for the sauna to be turned on and wait for an hour for it! Just seems that they are cheap and don't want to keep it running all day. Then they close the tanning booths at 7:40, so when it comes to 7:45 don't even bother asking because they will not let you tan, which was not told to us when we signed up and we paid for the VIP+!! Also, they lock the big workout room which takes a lot of space away from the people who want to do lunges, sprints, ect workouts. It isn't a terrible gym if you want to get your sweat on, but it's not the best either. Now that I am aware of this information I will be hitting up the tanning booth earlier. I mean I paid for it and I'm going to use it!

This gym is horrible!! Ownership is super weird, controlling and invasive - act as though you're working out in their own personal gym.

Super small and way over crowded. Also, they have massive spot lights throughout the entire gym which give you a massive headache.
This place sucks but unfortunately it's the only halfway decent option in this town, the other two options are also a joke!

Be careful what you sign, especially if you're like me and most people out there that just sign and move on. A good company that isnt trying to rip you off would cover the very important things with you verbally and make sure you understand what you are signing. This is not such a company.

If I could give this place less than 1 star I would. Owner is rude and disrespectful. Employees will lie when signing you up for a contract because they don't know their own rules. The door scan does not work most of the time and even if you pay for 24hr access, you will end up not being able to use the gym at night because of the door scan not working and there is no staff at night. The place stinks most of the time. Not worth a penny for what they offer and the really bad costumer service they give when they are the ones making the mistakes.

Josh King, you sir are more than likely a Liberal California transplant. The owner of the Fitness for 10 is a patriotic American that believes in the 2nd ammenment as do I. Let me remind you that you are in Fernley N.V. There are many citizens including myself that carry. I feel very comfortable and safe in the best gym in Fernley that the owner has a concealed weapons permit. I have been working out at this gym since the day they opened. This gym is well staffed, very clean and has the best equipment.
