It's one of my favorite respite spots. Even if I don't have a sitter. Let's me get in a good workout without distractions. My work out is my stress relief, and river vista makes it easy to stay on track. Friendly and supportive staff, clean machines, great kid center. Still really great!

Nice clean local gym, but beware of the late fees. I was out of town and lost my card, called the gym to let them know and they seemed fine with it. Come to find out they charge a late fee on top of another fee every two weeks that your card isn't being charged. So ended up paying quite a bit in crazy late fees, which I've never experienced anywhere. So just be aware of that!

I signed up for a month-to-month membership in December 2023. At that time, I was charged for my first month dues of $35 and an annual membership fee of $39. I signed a 1-year contract, which meant that I could not cancel my membership until my December 2024 $35 payment came out as that was my last month in the contract. My monthly membership comes out via Autopay every month on the 14th. I planned to cancel my membership on December 15th so that my membership would not auto renew/keep coming out in January. When I checked my bank account on December 14th, 2024 and saw a $74 charge, I immediately called the gym and was told that there was an annual fee tacked on, which is why there was an extra $39 charge on top of my membership dues. I was advised to call on Monday, December 16th, and speak to the manager Tasha about the charge when she was in. I just got off the phone with her and explained that I had already paid the annual fee at the beginning of my membership and wanted to cancel my membership since my yearly contract was now up and wanted the $39 refunded as I would not be rejoining for another year. I was refused a refund by Tasha, who stated that every year an annual fee is charged and that River Vista is not able to do any refunds. I came back with I already WAS charged an annual fee on December 14th, 2023 and as I'm cancelling my membership, I should NOT have to pay another annual fee! She kept repeating herself about how there is an annual fee every year and that I should have cancelled before December if I wanted to avoid the annual membership fee; however, in the same breath, she told me that I would have been charged a $79 early termination fee if I would have done that! She also offered to refund me the $39 annual fee and charge me the $79 early cancellation fee if I preferred that, yet she had told me prior that River Vista could NOT do any refunds. So the long and short of it is that to cancel your membership at this gym, you will either pay an early cancellation fee of $79 or a second $39 annual fee, even if you don't renew your contract for that second year and try to cancel your membership the day of/after your contract ends. Shady business practice - be aware. It's not the fact that it's a lot of money; it's the moral of the story and a business that is not operating in a moral, fair manner. In my instance, with my yearly contract ending on December 14th, 2024, I should have had X number of days (5 or whatever) to come in and cancel my membership without having to pay a second annual fee on top of my initial annual fee as I will not be renewing my annual membership. I will be double checking and reporting to the BBB on this shady practice.

I have had memberships at Eagle Fitness, Fitness for 10, Anytime Fitness and River Vista. River Vista is by far the best out of the bunch. No hassle membership when paid in full for 1 year. Equipment is good quality, maintained and in good shape. Most importantly it is clean. The staff are professional, friendly and polite. Other members are courteous and respectful. The Flooring and mats, which most people don't pay attention to is good. The Flooring looks like stamped concrete and is kept clean, and most importantly the mats are trip free, unlike fitness for 10 in Carson city where their mats have bubbles. The door can be unlocked with a phone app for 24 hour access. It is a nice place.

Staff is always friendly, and helpful if you need anything. As far as the facility, it seems clean - I see them replacing wiping cloths and mopping when I'm there. It's always more crowded at the beginning of the year with everyone making new year resolutions, but other than that, I've never had to wait long to use a machine. Plenty of machines and free weights as well. I think the price is okay, not super expensive.

I came into the gym yesterday and tried to get a membership with my wife and they only had one key card left, so they let me work out for free, after my wife got a membership. I tried coming back today and Mathew sent me away after I tried to tell him the situation, he explained that he had already logged off and didn’t want to log back into his system. I tried to explain that I’m active duty military and I’m only here for a month on leave after just coming home from overseas. He still told me to come back tomorrow. This is ridiculous.

Left about 7 years ago because an employee walked in to the tanning room while my wife was in the booth and proceded to try and hold a conversation. Complained to management but nothing was done so we left. Thought I'd go back and give a go once more. The kid working behind the counter didn't address me until he was done on his phone and then proceeded to act as if I was bothering him when I asked about the fees. When I asked him basic questions he stated he didn't know and that I could take the membership form with me because I obviously was interfering with his phone time. As first impressions go Im not impressed. If you are a veteran or first responder I would take my money elsewhere. There are plenty of gyms that have better customer service and atmosphere for half the price.

Horrible customer service. My husband and I signed up to use River Vista Fitness when we first moved to Dayton. Recently, we got a puppy and could not dedicate any time to the gym while she is still so little. We decided to cancel our membership temporarily, with the plan to re-join once our puppy got a little bigger and could stay home for longer stretches of time. I cancelled in September, but my husband decided to keep his for an extra few months. On November 4th he called and stated he would like his gym membership cancelled. We were informed that there was a 30-day cancellation period, so we had already been charged for the month of November. We understood that and that 30 days meant that our gym membership would be cancelled “officially” on December 4th. Much to our surprise, we were billed for the entire month of December. When my husband called, we were told that our “30-day cancellation” is from the date of billing, which is on the 2nd. We were never notified of this when we first cancelled. We asked to at least be prorated, as my husband did not visit the gym at all in December, and if they would at least prorate from December 1st to December 4th as that would be the official “30 days”. Instead, a rude female manager told us that they would not prorate or assist us in any way. We had every intention of rejoining the gym in the next few months, but will make sure to not give this business any more of our money than they’ve already taken from us. Instead of prorating us, “losing” $25, but keeping our business, they have made it clear that $25 to them is worth more than two customers who would have continued to use their services as long as we lived in Dayton. The boss, Sam, has always been helpful to us, but perhaps some training for his managers on customer service should be in order.

I have been to every single gym between gardnerville and south Reno, and I have never been to a gym better than River Vista Fitness. This gym is so clean, has updated, nice equipment, super friendly staff, and a very supportive environment. It's $29.00 per month for a one person membership, and this includes all classes and tanning. The gym offers a kid's club with convenient hours for the average working person. Seriously, can't say enough about this amazing gym.

Nice size gym. Always machines and wieghts available. Some times it can be a little crowded at the standard 'rush' times but never to the point of having to wait for what you want to use. Courteous staff and helpful management.
The locker rooms are large but the showers (mens side at least) need updating and cleaning; heavy hard water deposits and poorly functioning doors are off putting.
