Hands down best gym in the valley. Great staff, great equipment, overall great place to get a workout in. I've been going here for 2 years and I've never had to wait for a piece of equipment. Everyone I've met has been friendly but never in your face or pushy. Very comfortable non-intimidating environment with a good mix of clientele. Both Yak’s Fitness locations are top-tier, primarily i’ll be going to the Town Square gym. I used to work out at Torture Gym, but it started getting way too packed during my usual time. Plus, after moving, it became completely out of the way.

Yak’s Town Square is only 5 minutes from my job, and thanks to their membership cap, it’s never overcrowded when I need to train. The gym itself is immaculate, everything is clean, the equipment is high quality, and all the weights are always well organized. It has everything I need and more.

Shoutout to Chris for being incredibly kind and welcoming. He worked with me on a military discount for an annual membership and even threw in a few extra months for free. That level of generosity and professionalism is rare. I couldn’t be happier with the switch Yak’s Fitness is 100% worth it.

Been coming for almost 2 years and I’m very thankful I found the place. It’s always clean and very conducive to focusing and working hard. I generally go after 8 pm and I’m typically one of only 2-3 people there and never waiting for equipment; even during busier hours I find this to be true. Equipment is always new and in great shape, getting replaced regularly. You truly get what you pay for at Yaks in the best way possible.

This place is very low-key close to home, little bit far from work, but definitely worth giving a shot, especially if you're focused on this goal. Routine gym life. They're very friendly. Stuff are fairly friendly. They also have nice most of the equipment that I need, especially in my power lifting kind of guy. They have rested equipment, noise free people free, very low-key and also very convenient. I appreciate the family business trail and mostly the staff are very friendly and very helpful and also welcoming. Definitely worth a try, especially if you're visiting from Vegas their family owns and also the other two only low locations.

I was a member of one of those huge chain gyms for a hot second but I could not find a time to go in there where the place wasn't packed wall to wall. I stopped in at Yak's because it's close to my house, just to see what was up.

There was a reasonable amount of people in the place, excellent spacing, very clean. The owner took me on a tour and he found a piece of paper on the floor, hit pause during the the walkaround to pick it up, then continued to show me his place. He's always working on improving, maintaining, and updating the equipment, which I love.

Three stars came from having to leave six(ish) months of membership fees on the table. I knew when I re-upped there was a high likelihood I'd be moving, just didn't know when. I was assured if I did move, I'd be taken care of. Shame on me for not asking exactly what that meant or getting it in writing. When my departure was getting close, I left the owner two messages with no reply. Got him on the third try. He apologized and said there was nothing he could do for me. Yak's has many pricing options. If you're unsure of your time in town, go for the month-to-month. Still a great gym.

Yak Fitness: My Unexpected Fitness Home (and the Place I Lost 65 lbs!)

I started my fitness journey back in January 2024, feeling like a lost cause. At 245lbs and 5’8”, I hadn't stepped foot in a gym for almost 20 years. This time, my New Year's resolution was different. I was determined to find a gym that felt right, one where I wouldn't feel overwhelmed and intimidated. Yak Fitness was the first gym I visited, and it turned out to be the only one I needed.

From the start, Yak Fitness felt like the perfect fit. The Durango location is extremely close to where i live, It never gets overcrowded, so I never have to awkwardly hover around waiting for equipment (especially those amazing Atlantis machines!). The place is spotless – seriously, the cleanest gym I've ever seen! And let me tell you, those Atlantis machines are so smooth; it's like gliding through your workout. But what truly sets Yak Fitness apart is the people. Hiyabel and Austin always greet me with a smile, making me feel like I'm walking into my second home.

And the members? Let's just say they're the kind of people you actually want to run into at the gym. Everyone is super courteous, wiping down equipment, and always willing to lend a hand (or a spot!). It truly feels like a fitness family. In fact, I loved this place so much that I almost worked here! Unfortunately, due to a scheduling conflict, I had to withdraw my application.

Fast forward 10 months, and I'm down 65 lbs! I'm in the best shape of my life, and I owe a huge thanks to Yak Fitness. Sadly, I'm moving to Henderson, and I'm genuinely going to miss this place.

Thank you, Yak Fitness, for everything! You've created something special. Here's hoping you open a location in Henderson soon – until then, I'll be reminiscing about those smooth Atlantis machines and the awesome community you've built."

I have never liked public gyms - but somehow I enjoyed Yak’s. It emulates the feeling of a private gym but at an affordable cost.

I usually work out at my home gym in California, but when I often find myself in Las Vegas, I wish I had a private one as well. This is the closest you’ll get. They offer passes for days, weeks, anything you need. The owner Chris is almost always around and extremely friendly. The staff are all very hospitable as well, especially Jonathan, who allowed me to try out the gym before I committed to the week pass. The gym is filled with good people.

Yak’s has every machine needed for any goal you may have, and a separate room with lots of open space. You won’t feel rushed, and you won’t be waiting on machines.

Cleanliness is genuinely a 10/10. There’s no smell to the gym either. I initially laughed at the sound of “strategically placed cloths and sanitizers” but it’s true, there’s always a set around, and everyone cleans their equipment. The locker room and bathroom are small, clean, smell great (scent diffusers) and feel comfortable.

If you don’t like crowded, noisy, smelly public gyms, and you’re a local or coming from out of town, this is the gym to go to. You’ll feel at home here.

I joined Yaks about a month ago and it’s been a great place to be at. I’ve never gone there and not been able to get on a treadmill. The staff is fantastic, the owner was super nice and it has all the machines/weights you’d ever need. The reason for the 4 star is that 99.9% of the people who use the treadmills, don’t clean them when they’re done. I watch people just drip sweat touching the machines all over and then they’re just walk off like it’s nothing and I find it disgusting. I can’t speak for cleaning of the other machines because I’m not using those or paying attention to those, but I’m guessing they would do the same because why would you clean one machine, but not the other? I wish staff would monitor this more, it’s just out of respect and takes literally 15 seconds to do.

Pros: clean, decent range of equipment for a small gym, mostly nice staff.

Cons: needs disposable cleaning wipe dispenser in lieu of spray bottles and reusing sweat soaked towels (unsanitary imo), 65-80 lb dumbbells had mismatched handles the rest have rubber grip handles and plates. Not convenient at higher weights. Would like to see a 1 or 2 plate loaded machines.

My beef: I needed a place to train from July 16-20th. Had to buy a 1 month membership for $90. Ok I just need to lift so I do it. The young kid helping me out was great. Friendly, helpful, and in good spirits. I asked if they had a hot sauna. He showed me their infrared sauna and how to use it. Told me to bring in my own towel and some slides or shower shoes as they don’t supply them. That was one of the selling points. I try and sauna after every workout. I took a sauna after one workout and attempted again after the next days workout. The kid working the counter stopped me and told me it wasn’t allowed with my membership. I questioned him and told him I was told it was and he immediately got hostile. Acting as though I was trying to steal something. I ultimately asked to speak to the owner as he escalated things quickly. By the end of the confrontation he was dropping the f bomb and telling me to leave. I’ve never been so offended at a place of business I subscribed to in my life. Zero professionalism with this kid, he has no business interfacing with public. And I promise I’m no Karen. I’m a laid back guy.

I got ahold of Chris the owner and he was nice over the phone but constantly kept cutting me off as I was trying to explain what happened. He kept telling me it’s out of character for this kid, he just had a baby and is maybe stressed. The kid had called Chris before chris and I spoke and I imagine told him a completely different story and I sensed that Chris didn’t believe me as he kept discounting what I was saying. I ultimately told Chris that as a business owner he has a responsibility to himself to review the video footage, and hopefully it has audio so he can hear what was said, the tone of voice, the accusatory nature of his employee, and the rapid escalation, immaturity, and offensive nature of said employee. Reviewing the footage is the only way Chris would be able to verify my complaint and also verify that the sauna was in fact part of the agreement. I’m a successful business owner myself and fortunately money is the last of my life’s problems. So to be accused of trying to steal a 12 minute trip to the sauna is highly offensive and almost laughable had the kid not been so aggressive.

At the end of the day I went to their other location because I’m just not comfortable at the gym now. Had I not left, I guarantee you it would have turned physical. The kid started making threats as I was walking out.

For context I’m a 42 year guy that’s been training since I was 15. My gym etiquette is well polished and I’m always respectful.

Next time I’m in town, if my community’s gym is not yet back in service, I will unfortunately not subscribe here.

Minus 1 star for the equipment issues, 1 star for Chris’ response, 1 star for the bad employee. It should be minus two stars for the employee but that only leaves 1 star and that’s a bit too harsh. The gym itself, overall, is not too bad and doesn’t warrant a 1 star.

My friend and I were on the hunt for a gym. Our requirements were 1) not crowded, 2) good price, and 3) convenient location. Yak's Fitness checked all of our boxes. I was surprised at how the owner, Chris, reached out to me personally to get me to come check out the gym. We got a free workout (we were there for like over an hour lol we definitely took our time!) and one of the personal trainers, Coach Jared, offered us a free training session.

Everyone we've met at Yak's has been so nice and the facility is great. It has everything we need - tons of machines, squat racks, free weights, etc. and the best part is that it's SUPER clean and not crowded at all! Signing up for a 1 year membership was a no-brainer.

We LOVE Yak's Fitness! My friend and I were looking for a small boutique gym because we got tired of overcrowded places and happened to find Yak's Fitness by chance. We checked out the place first and they allowed us to workout for free before even sitting down to talk about memberships and pricing. All of the staff and trainers were extremely friendly and the entire facility is very clean and well kept. They've got all the equipment that you would need for almost any type of workout and we love that we can go at any time of the day/week and there only be a small handful of people at any given time.

We met with Chris, the owner, and he was very personable and reached out to us to answer our questions and concerns.

I was tired of chain gyms because of the terrible customer service, constantly packed, and equipment always being broken. I am a fairly new gym goer and it would be normal of me to skip a workout because the gym is too full. As soon as I walked into Yak’s I was greeted by Mo. He gave us a tour, had an answer for every question, and you quickly feel a sense of community because if you go on a schedule you will see the same people consistently. Nothing short of 5 stars here at Yak’s. Was so impressed after the 3 day trial that I decided to join. The cleanliness is 2nd to none and the lighting outshines any gym I’ve ever been to. The reason you want to sign up here (approx $50 / month) is bc it’s better than the crowded cheap membership gyms ($10) but more reasonable than the high end body builder clubs ($100). All the machines work perfect and the benches are super comfy with new leather upholstery. They have a good locker room too. Overall come in and at least check it out, meet the owner Chris (super nice guy btw) and prepare to have a great workout!

Me and my husband always go to this gym when in Vegas. It is just excellent, new equipment, suitable for any sort of work out, the gym is always clean, the music is not loud (just the perfect volume), the staff and the owner are very friendly and helpful! Can't recommend enough! :) Also the memberships are flexible, that's amazingly convenient for those who travel: you don't have to get a membership for 3 months, you can just get one month 👍.

I am a new member whose had a membership at just about every gym in the town, I want to talk about first impressions. I walked in and saw/smelled the cleanest gym in the city. I was greeted by the Owner Chris, who might be the most humble and pleasant person I've ever met (honestly just the nicest, I went in there very "meh" and left feeling good). We did a quick tour of the beautiful facility, went over some of the best equipment I have used. I signed my wife and I up immediately.

This was so painless, no generic upselling, no forcing trainers on you, no BS, This is how businesses should be run!

Great gym. Not sub-standard like chain places, clean and doesn’t get super crowded. The owner is around and says hello to everyone which definitely shows character and community.

I got a hard time from them on my first two visits about being on Groupon but they were willing to price match for an annual membership. If I was closer to it, I’d consider it.

Either way, still 5 stars from me for the overall value I got from this place - it helped me get back on track with my health goals. I’ve had some injuries over the past year and can’t do what I normally would outdoors in the heat (rock climbing, run, hike) so it was great to find a regular place I could pop into and do my workouts on the fly.

My typical routine: row, elliptical, stair master, jump rope and running + kettlebell and free weight based strength training.

I really enjoy working out at this gym. It’s not overly crowded and it has nice equipment. The owner genuinely cares that it is a quality gym. It is a good size as well. It has good hours so you can get in early morning or late night workouts and it is open 24 hours a day aside from the weekends although those hours are pretty generous anyway. I looked around at other gyms in the area and decided on this one because I found it was a good balance of having higher level weight lifting equipment without falling victim to other “hardcore” gyms where everyone is taking Instagram videos of themselves instead of training hard. If I had to nitpick, I wish there were one or two more squat racks as when it is busy sometimes it can be difficult to get a rack but that is a minor issue and overall it is an awesome gym I would recommend to people of all levels of fitness.

Intantanly loved this place. When inquiring about a membership I at no time felt pressured. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly and transparent and I was able to obtain a membership that fit my specific needs. All of the machinery is top of the line and the gym is immaculate. I was also pleasantly surprised to learn there is a level 3 tanning bed on site that can be utilized by members for a fraction of the price of typical tanning salons. The owner is always in and out and is definitely the heart and soul of this place. I am definitely glad I found this place and was able to break away from the chaos and mediocrity and shady contracts of the Vegas valley's mega gyms 💪

I’m a 5+ year member at a larger gym in the valley also a personal trainer there and even though I wasn’t necessarily looking to join another gym I’m SO happy that I signed up at Yaks.

The gym has a very private VIP feeling without the ridiculously high VIP prices. It’s clean, there’s a little bit of everything and Chris and his staff are so friendly. I enjoy coming to Yaks to get a great solid workout in where I stay focused. There’s no running around the gym trying to find weights or cable attachments because it’s always in arms reach. Everyone who works out there is very respectful. Sanitizing bottles and towels are also always readily available!

Second time around writing a review about this gym because they never fail to impress their clients/customers! The gym is constantly being cleaned, people are respectful, staffs are friendly and the owner is so generous! No wonder why Yak's is successfully growing. I see new faces every time, but the gym is never too crowded! WEAR YOUR MASKS!

I love this gym! Been going here for two years. Have gone to eos and lvac in the past, but they just don't compare. Even when they are busy I don't have to fight for equipment and they are SO clean! Chris the owner is great and he takes care of the members. So glad I found Yaks after the other gyms were such a pain.

Staff seems to be unable to assist with basic tasks, stopped in a month on a Saturday to discontinue membership due to moving. The person at the counter stumbled over it for 10 minutes, then told me everything was set, and I am still being charged. It was not a bad gym, but the integrity and competency of the staff is questionable at best.

This fitness center is 💯. The owner is so nice. I went here during "peak" hours just to see how it is like, and I am surprised to see that there are people, yes of course, but it is NOT crowded at all! What I also like about this gym is that people do not care with whatever you are doing. Just workout, be comfortable then that's it! Restroom is so nice and smells really good. I also love their equipment. Yak's deserves 6 stars!

My name is Zach and I wasn’t a member very long before I had a few fractures snowboarding. Amazing gym. Didn’t get to utilize it as long as I would have liked because I broke a few bones and am out of commission for about a year. But when I am healed I will be going back again. Great people who work there including the owner who is an amazing trainer and truly cares about his clients. I would highly recommend this gym over any of the larger corporate gyms in Vegas. People actually go here to work out and not just take selfies. 5 stars for sure and will be the only place I will recommend or work out myself.

Yak's gym is legit. The owner Chris is really a nice guy, and you can tell he really cares about his gym and the people in it. He gives off a good vibe and it translates to the members that train at the gym.

I've been working out at the gym for nearly three weeks at different parts of the morning/afternoon and everyone that trains there is respectful and considerate of each other. Unlike commercial gyms, everyone here has basic gym etiquette, which means an overall cleaner gym during all hours and less downtime waiting for equipment.

I find Yak's gym's atmosphere is great for really zoning in and getting into your workout. I never feel rushed when I'm on equipment. What's really great about the gym is they have a training section with bumper plates which helps if your a person who incorporates Olympic lifts in your training program.

*Deadlifting with octagon plates are annoying as hell!

So if you are looking for a nice gym that doesn't get crowded, I'd recommend you checking this place out. The reason why I say this is because I am a member of multiple gyms and if I don't get myself to the gym before a certain time, I sometimes allow myself to skip because I don't want to deal with the crowd. The first day I came to Yak's, it was 8:30am -- a time where it would be stupid crowded at the other gym I go too. I pull into the parking lot and there were 5 cars in the lot. I walked into the gym and there was maybe 10 people... that's when I knew I found my primary gym in Las Vegas.

I walked into Yaks Fitness again today after being away for almost 2 years, felt like I was back home. Chris the owner was absolutely great as always and I re joined. I have never joined any other gym in Vegas due to them being overcrowded, people not being friendly/helpful, stuff being dirty and on top of that having to pay a good amount. Yaks is perfect and the total opposite. And now they’re open 24 hours!!!! Which is the absolute best since I get off work super late. I highly recommend this gym. Very professional staff.

One star becouse the owner doesn't care that much for the clients, he cares only if there are more ppl and more $$$ in his account. "No annual fee" sure. I was charged for his "new equipment " without knowing. Never gave him permission for it. I have never been ask for it. Disappointed!!!! Very unprofessional!!!! And... not too many machines as well. Dropped in for a day visit and was courteously greeted. I only needed a day pass, but the owners were willing to work with me to make sure I got a fair deal if I was going to come for a few days in a row or a few times a month.

The gym was clean, very well equipped, and had a nice atmosphere in which to get a good workout.

The woman told me it would be 20 dollars for a day pass... I understand gyms aren't charity centers and everyone has rent to pay but c'mon. I just moved here and im very specific at what I like in a gym so why not make the day pass reasonable? Or even free if you would be confident you have a good gym?
Also, all memberships require upfront payment? That is ridiculous. Maybe this lady was trying to upswell me so she could spend more money on self tanner.
The gym was quite small and empty. The atmosphere seemed like people go to sit on the weight machines to read magazines.

Fantastic place to exercise. Not dead, Not busy, and all the equipment is fantastic. The place is incredibly clean and well kept, with a very supportive environment. This is not the place to meddle around, sit on your cell phone, but the place to get your exercise, work out well, and feel great. I wish I knew about this place far sooner, and I am more than glad that I will be continuing to exercise here!

I have been a member since July 2013. I have lived in Las Vegas for more than five years and in that time joined more than three other gyms. Yak's Fitness is by far the best gym I have joined. The owners are bodybuilders and fitness coaches so they are always on sight answering questions about training and nutrition to members. It isn't your typical gym by any means - the members there have a purpose, fitness.....so if you are looking for some locals hook-up style of gym, this isn't the place.

Yak fitness was very unprofessional when I stepped foot inside their gym. My friend is a member there and I was going straight from work to pick something up from her. I walked in and looked around to find her and did. I approached her and then seconds later was approached with "are you a member"? Another occasion I walked into the gym to wait for her to get out of the heat and right by the door stood the reception who never greeted, spoke, or ask if I needed anything. These two incidents led me to believe that Yak is WAK!
