Live Fit with Lyss LLC DBA Function Better Fitness and Recovery is a luxury personal training service. We offer customized exercise programs, Body Tempering, and flexible scheduling to ensure we can maximize your results in the time you have available. We strive to encourage, educate and support our clients through implementing uniquely personalized, progressive, and effective programs to achieve optimal results. We proudly offer Body Tempering as a service to help clients optimize recovery. We believe this skill combined with appropriate and correlated strength training is a bulletproof approach. Our goal is to help you function better in many aspects of health and fitness to achieve results and peak performance.

My wife and I have been training with Alyssa for a little over three years. We have achieved all of the goals we set out to achieve and much more. After only a few months of training we had the confidence to start hiking trails, climbing mountains, and other activities we previously felt we were too old or too out of shape to enjoy safely. Alyssa helped us realize quickly that we aren’t too old. She also whipped us into shape pushing us past our excuses to a place of extreme confidence with our own physical ability.
It took about 6-12 months for the muscles to really start to condition properly. We started in June with Alyssa and hiked a few times in the fall but accomplished Mt Washington in the spring. It took 12-18 months to understand diet, nutrition, and how to manipulate for cutting fat and gaining muscle. Alyssa helped me lose 10% body fat while gaining muscle and she helped me understand the recipe/map to continue to maintain myself through proper diet and exercise.
I sustained 3 different injuries that we had to work through and work around including a sprained ankle and ruptured heal that impacted our workouts for a two years as I PT’d in physical therapy. Alyssa was able to coordinate with Physical Therapy to continue my healing process with focused exercises after graduation from the PT sessions. Alyssa coached me through the injuries, helped me work around them and taught me how to adjust so that once I was healed I was in a better overall place then I was prior to the injury. For example, while I couldn’t do legs we added an extra core day so when legs were brought back into the equation my core was as tight as it has ever been in my life. When I couldn’t put any weight on my leg, Alyssa handed me my weights on the bench for chest, back, shoulders, bi’s, and tri’s. If I hadn’t had Alyssa at that moment I would have backtracked and would have lost sight of my long term goals.
My wife and I continue to work with Alyssa to focus on the muscle groups that impact us the most as we age. We now understand the value of having a personal trainer and believe Alyssa is one of the best in her field to help us achieve our fitness and life goals. We will continue to see Alyssa at least twice a week to keep us on track for many years to come.

Alyssa completely changed my life. I started working with her as a 33 year old with no fitness background, and truly no bodily awareness. I’m 22 years old and Alyssa is great at creating workouts that are friendly to my fitness level while still pushing me to my full capacity. Lyss is an awesome trainer… She Makes sure your form is correct and that you are getting the proper mind muscle connection… In 12 sessions I already see non-trivial growth in my lower lats, which was a problem area for me…. Lyss is Highly Recommended…!!
