Rumor has it this place has been closing for months. Didn't think anything of it because there was no statements from management. Noticed the place has been falling apart ever since. Dust bunnies everywhere, men's locker room has no lights or functioning urinal. They claim from water damage but its been this way forever. Old unusable chalk. Everything is becoming a mess. Pretty much completely unstaffed at this point.

Finally this weekend notice the smallest sign away from any public view stating they will be closing Feb 21st. Very unprofessional.

I've been going to Iron Empire for a little over a year now. I've lost 40 pounds and over 30 inches. The staff is amazing and knows every ones name. They're very personable and show you how to properly do all the exercises. They also have several modifications if you need them. I've made some life long friends. Give the 28 day challenge a try. You wont be disappointed.

Went in to check it out. I’m not a body builder, but I have bodybuilder friends and I’m a former collegiate athlete. I went to a college with top of the line equipment similar to that at Iron Empire. Some of my friends are even former professional athletes. I’ve been in the fitness world for years. The owner gave me information on the place etc. and because I was excited to learn about tempering and kind of understand how it works.... I let him try it on me. I thought he’d put a 30 pound rod on me, but proceeded to put 130 pounds on my hamstrings. I weigh 118 pounds. His employee was with him, so there was another person standing there. I couldn’t move and said, “no that hurts.” He waited a few seconds and then took it off. Probably works for other people. I still believe in the idea, but... Since then, I’ve had tightness in my left glutes, and the exact place where the owner placed the rod on my left hamstring. I am a super limber former ballet dancer, as well, so I wasn’t tight to begin. I just was excited about this “new” thing. This was in December. I can’t seem to figure out how to fix this issue. Within a week of this meeting my whole left side felt tweaked. I’ve reached out a few times to see if he had someone who could meet for a short time to help the issue caused by placing the tempering rod on my leg. The owner takes no responsibility for this and after my third attempt to get in touch, so maybe I could just get a little wisdom on the issue and assistance, well, he hung up on me. I’ve avoided making this known for his sake. I’m a mom of 5 and work my but off to be in shape. I had been working out regularly before I stepped into his gym. This has been bugging me and causing issues ever since. I wake to a slight pain in the exact spot on my hamstring where the rod was many times a week. All I want is someone to see me and show me maybe some SMR technique to help it. Or something. I’ve done what I know. This sucks.

Iron Empire is not only an incredible gym but an incredible community. I just completed their 6 Week Challenge, and I have nothing but good things to rave about. The gym is beautiful, open and clean with equipment you can’t find anywhere else. The staff bends over backwards to help you with any problem and achieve your goals (whether that goal is fat loss, muscle building, or just getting stronger). I have felt so supported and so welcome ever since I stepped through the door, which was huge to me as someone new to weight training and who gets intimidated by gyms! In fact, I loved it so much that I now work here because I wanted to be more involved! I could not be happier with my experience here and cannot recommend it enough! If you’re thinking about Iron Empire, go all in because you will not regret it!

I am a few days in on the 6 week challenge and am loving it. Best experience!! I am very overweight and it has become more of a problem with my health. Saw an add for the 6 week challenge at Iron Empire and scheduled a meeting. The staff has been very friendly and so supportive. They do a great job helping us (my husband and I) and holding us accountable. The diet is so easy to follow and recipes taste amazing and nutritious. The workouts are hard but not so hard that they leave me feeling like I can’t move. To start the 6 week challenge my husband and I had to invest $500 each in us. If we meet our goal (losing 25 lbs each) at the end of the 6 weeks we get all our money back. Yes $500 is a lot but we had it in savings and decided we were worth it to take the chance/investment on us and improving our health. It is also a great motivator to keep us accountable. Nothing else has worked for us up to this point. I have already lost some weight and feel less bloated. I am so thankful for this opportunity. Really HIGHLY recommended Iron Empire who is ready for a healthy change.

Iron Empire is the first gym I have been a member of, where I feel comfortable. There is no body shaming and tons of encouragement from both the coaches and other members. They may not have tanning beds or massage chairs to help draw you in, but they are 24 hours, several coaches are on hand during regular business hours, friendly and willing to do what it takes to help you get you desired results. Thank you Iron Empire for making my gym experience much more enjoyable.

This place is awesome! I completed their six week challenge and it was totally worth it. Whether you have been working out on your own for a while, are looking for some direction and a push (like myself) or are just getting ready to start your fitness journey, this place is perfect for you. I know when I first starting working out I just stuck with what I had learned in high school (almost 10 years ago). Obviously a lot has changed since then. I am also someone who makes the excuse that I want to be as efficient as possible so if I don't trust what I am doing, I never get moving. This place is awesome. They give you a simple meal plan that you can completely make your own but teaches you how to eat and how much to eat. The classes were the best workouts I have ever done and the instructors are so nice and personable. You work hard and break a good sweat but you feel great when you walk out the door. If you are lost and not sure where to begin or already have a routine but just feel like you are in a rut, this is the place for you.

I took part in the 6 week challenge at Iron Empire and I could not be more pleased with the results. My challenge was to lose 25lbs in 6 weeks and at my final weigh-in I had dropped a total 27.6lbs!! My experience with gyms was mostly limited to the Purple Planet place and elliptical machines….what you’re going to get at Iron Empire is no comparison. From my first meetings with John and Dom describing the challenge and to the 3 per week training sessions with Mariah, Russ & Dom. The meal planning instructions were great, the recipes were easy to follow and with the protein shakes in between meals I never got to the point where I felt like I was starving. Admittedly the 6am classes were tough to try and get breakfast in before a workout but I made the best of it with one of the great smoothie recipes! The workouts were great, my classmates were excellent and it was an encouraging environment to be working out in. The trainers show you each exercise and then its time for you to get to work. Its important to note that you get in what you put in at these classes. The trainers aren’t going to be in your face yelling at you, so if you choose to half-ass it and cut your reps short you’re only going to be hurting yourself! Iron Empire is a top-notch gym for all skill levels and I would recommend the 6 week challenge for anyone who wants to get a little more healthy, learn their way around a gym, meet some new friends and feel great about themselves after its done.

Today was the last day of classes and outs official, i got my goal! Down 26lbs and 8.2% body fat over 6 weeks. I'm not going to say it was easy but it was a goal worth achieving. I worked with Mariah Lyn for the whole competition and she got me to where i wanted to be. Thank you so much for that, you are a great coach! These kind of goals only make the other ones in life look and feel more realistic so don't give up on a goal, push until you get it!
I would recommend this challenge to anyone looking to make a positive change and work with some great coaches who really know their stuff!

I was a successful participant in the 6 week challenge at Iron Empire. I found the challenge to be incredibly helpful and motivating. The aspect that I was most impressed with was the attention given to the workouts, and their instruction. Coaches included a wide variety of movements into the workouts, and were very good about observing and correcting form during those workouts. Having not been coached since high school athletics it was great to get 6 weeks of up to date activities. Combined with the meal plan they provide and some effort on off days it was reasonably easy to make the challenge target for me. I got there in 4 weeks and spent the last 2 working out for myself what a good maintenance diet would be. It would be helpful if that was provided for me, but that is my only suggestion for improvement. The coaches are great.

I want to give a huge shot out to Iron Empire gym on Chestnut St. in Dover New Hampshire. I recently concluded a 6 week weight loss challenge and lost 13 pounds and 3.9% body fat. The program is conducted by Dom Bernabeo, General Manager at Iron Empire, who is well versed in exercise physiology. I followed a diet plan, with recipes that were very low fat, sugar and calories. The menu items were very tasty, one breakfast item was a pancake made with fat free cottage cheese, egg whites and raw oatmeal which were all blended together. I used cooking spray instead of olive oil to sauté everything from egg whites to chicken breasts, or to coat roasted vegetables, an old trick to help cut my calories.

To accompany the diet program is an exercise program. We meet in small classes up to 4 times a week. The classes are taught by coaches are challenging yet doable, using a mix of mobility, cardiac and strength training and run about an hour. Dom, Mariah, Lauren, Rob & Ben are the coaches and present a new work out each day. The classes unite the participants in mutual pain and discomfort and by the end, when we are all wet with sweat we congratulate and high-five each other. Participants are encourage to use Facebook, in a private group setting, to share recipe tweaks, progress on the 6 Week Challenge and motivate each other.

The 6 Week Challenge is a fun program; you lose weight, make new friends and most importantly feel better and healthier.

The 6 week challenge at Iron Empire was amazing! Over 6 weeks, I lost 26 pounds, and 5% body fat. There’s no way I could have done it on my own, without the coaching or planning that Iron Empire offers. Doing the challenge, you get three coaches classes a week, plus access to their gym during any of the staffed hours, so you can work out on your own in addition to attending classes (which are at really convenient times). Part of the challenge, though, is eating healthy. I was given a meal plan to strictly follow, and it would have been incredibly difficult, if it hadn’t been for the cookbook that they give you when you start. I was able to make things that I actually wanted to eat, and mix it up enough that I didn’t get bored. Plus, there’s a great community of people that have done it before, and share recipes, workouts, and all sorts of helpful info.

I’ll be honest, I was really trepidatious at first, and didn’t think there was any way that I could hit my goals. But their program was amazing, and I exceeded them without having to worry! It gave me the motivation and coaching that I need to live a healthy lifestyle, and that, for me, is priceless!

After completing the 6 Week Challenge I would highly recommend it to people looking for a new gym or to jumpstart a healthier lifestyle. The meal plan is easy and won't leave you hungry, the workouts are as difficult as you want to make them, and the accountability makes a huge difference.

The 6 week challenge at iron empire is possibly one of the best decisions I’ve ever made when it comes to my health!!! I was apprehensive at first with committing to the workout and thought they would be intimidating. Boy was I wrong!!! I loved the group workouts w Dom and Mariah. They were never the same, always engaging and before you knew it, the hour was up and couldn’t wait til the next time. The meal plan is super easy to follow and although you have to sacrifice hints that you probably were you to having, it’s all worth it in the end. If you’re reading this and on the fence whether or not to join the gym/elite membership/ 6 week challenge, take a leap of faith and I guarantee it’ll be worth it. I just completed the "6 week challenge" that I saw advertised on Facebook. The goal was to either lose 25lbs or 6% body fat ..... I chose to lose the 6% in hopes that I may reveal an ab muscle or two. I started with a little over 13% at the start, and with the help of the coaches, provided meal plan, and group workouts 3 times a week ..... I got down to 8.9%! Technically my last weigh in is tomorrow, so I still have a chance to lose that last 1.5%. Either way, I am quite happy with the results and enjoyed the experience as a whole.
Because of the positive experience and the evidence that they know what they are doing over there at Iron Empire, I decided to get a year long membership and enjoy the awesome equipment provided 24 hours a day. I highly recommend the 6 week challenge because it keeps you accountable and forces you to learn new healthy habits that will hopefully stick with you for life.

I was home in the seacoast area for 2 weeks from Delaware so I bought two 1-week memberships at Iron Empire. A bit on the pricey side for the week memberships but well worth the money. The equipment was top notch and the 24-7 hours allowed me to continue getting my pump throughout the holidays. Spoke with the owner on multiple occasions and he was very friendly. All around great experience.

I also have a friend doing the 6wk challenge at Iron Empire. As an ex personal trainer at a weight loss gym, he had me look over the program and meal plan for him to get my thoughts. They have a good program and their meal plan is solid - should yield great results for my friend and all other challengers.

I have been a member for well over a year. Fantastic people and training environment. This is especially true for powerlifting.
They have a mono, deadlift platforms (with band attachments!), 2 reverse-hypers and a belt squat/march. Do yourself a favor and check them out!

Ive been working out in gyms for over 20 years, and this is one of the best. You can get a lot of work done in here, cause the equipment is all good, and there's a lot of it. There are 9 squat racks or 10 if you count the Smith Machine. The place never gets that crowded, and the staff is top notch.

I started my squats and bench press "career" here. Good and impressive equipment, well trained staff who will be 100% ready to help/train/teach you, what's important - home-like atmosphere. If you want to learn training technique - that's the right place. If you bored in your old gym - Iron Empire is the right place. I wouldn't change Iron Empire to any other gym unless they will blacklist me :)

This gym, WOW!! Ive never been to a gym before but I decided to join the 6 week challenge at Iron Empire. I have driven by them many times and always thought about joining but never stopped because, who wants an overweight, non athletic lazy person where people go and are serious about their health and bodies.

Was I ever wrong. Sure I was intimidated my first day, walking in and seeing all these people with defined bodies, working hard, sweating, doing their thing. Then as I looked around I saw people just like me. Those that wanted a start and needed help doing it. Iron Empire did just that. They brought me and others in. They showed us how to eat better with meal plans and recipes. The trainers on site took their time and patiently showed us how to do the routines outlined in our custom workout plans. They pushed us respectfully, allowing us to listen to our bodies and do the best we can. And most of all they keep us accountable, to each other and to ourselves.

Regardless, if you are a beginner, to advanced or anywhere in between, Iron Empire will help you get the results you are looking for. They did it for me. In 4 weeks I lost 24 pounds and reduced my body fat from 28.8 down to 24. Thats a 19% loss of fat, now adding lean muscle.

Ive never looked and felt so good as I do since I joined 5 weeks ago. I recommend this gym to anyone looking for a home gym. You won't be disappointed.

My lifts have increased substantially since switching to Iron Empire a year ago and much of this is due to the excellent specialty equipment and services that is catered to lifters. The staff is committed to your progression and you can expect honest, knowledgeable feedback when carving out your weak points, plateaus, or techniques. It may sound hokey, but if you're looking to enhance your performance and achieve your goals, this is the place for you.

The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful! The members are also approachable and friendly. While it may seem intimidating at first, you quickly realize that everyone there is just trying to improve themselves, and are willing to share helpful advice and offer a spot when desired.

One of the best gyms I've been to, very helpful, acknowledge, everyone who goes their are great.. other gyms I've been to dont make you feel welcomed. Iron empire does, I've tried cross fit, kettlebell, each make you feel uncomfortable, iron is almost like a family. Every helps out, and pushes one another. They trainers are by far the best I've meet and trained with. I highly iron empire, not an intimating gym at all.

Best gym I have ever experienced. The specialty equipment is unparalleled. Everyone I've met has been serious about fitness and the staff all really know their stuff. I'd been really disappointed by the other gyms in the Seacoast area. This place is amazing.

I have been going to Iron Empire for almost two years and I would never consider going anywhere else. The staff here are super knowledgeable, and qualified. The gym is very clean and never feels crowded. The equipment is all the latest and greatest, many things you won't find in your typical gym, and its loaded with specialty equipment. I love this place!

Iron Empire is the best gym I've ever been to. It's a new gym that supports every style of fitness so there's something for everyone. The equipment is fantastic and the community is even better. It may look intimidating when first walking in but everyone is more than willing to give you a hand with either a spot or just some advice. The staff are top notch and truly masters of their craft, there's always something to learn from them. The new technique they practice called body tempering is game changing and you'll only find it here in this region. After suffering from a couple injuries, through PT & body tempering I was able to get back to lifting a lot sooner. I can't say enough good things about this gym.

This is the best gym in the seacoast, so much thought put into specific equipment for bodybuilders and powerlifters as well as a jungle gym. Trainers at this gym are very knowledgeable in these specific areas and are more then generous in the gym!! The owners of this gym are in there regularly and very friendly and filled with knowledge as well!! Clean, sanitary, and a friendly enviroment. If you want to make progress i highly suggest this gym!!

I love everything about this gym. The people are great. The trainers there are extremely knowledgeable and have helped me tremendously in my progress as a lifter. There is different areas in the gym for Crossfit, Strongman, Powerlifting, and bodybuilding. The equipment selection is very vast. I can say that I've never had to wait for a machine. Since I am also a football player I like pulling/pushing sleds on the turf strip. In a nutshell this gym is perfect for everyone. If you're a competitive athlete or someone just looking to improve health and fitness starting at whatever level, this gym is the perfect place to achieve your goals.

Great gym in Dover, NH. So glad we finally have a gym like this in the area. 24 hours access and easy/free parking. Staff is knowledgable, helpful, and committed to their members. Gym equipment is some of the best I have ever used and exceeds the equipment I used back when I was D1 college athlete. Gym has tones of space, great locker room/shower facilities. Highly recommended.

This place is great! The equipment is brand new and state of the art, and the space is big and open. This gym is very friendly to avid strength athletes, so powerlifters and bodybuilders will be at home here. But if you're not a meathead, don't worry; the staff is SO friendly and kind, they will help you with anything you're not familiar with and do whatever it takes to make you feel at home. In fact, the staff is the single best element of this gym. They know their specialties well, and love to share with the members.

I mentioned the equipment - I'll keep it short by saying that there are pieces here you've never seen before, and they are brand new. The staff will educate you on equipment you're not familiar with. It's a playground for avid strength trainers, and there is some cardio equipment too. But forget the treadmill; they have ropes and boxes for jumping and astro turf for pushing the sled/prowler. That's WAY more fun than the treadmill anyway!

This is the gym the NH Seacoast needed!

I've been waiting for this gym to open since January and it didn't disappoint!! If you are a serious lifter this is THE place to be. There is equipment here that you won't see.....GHR, only one of 2 gyms in NH to have a reverse hyperextension (the other is 40 miles/1hr from Dover), the only gym to have an inverted leg curl or a mono lift. I could go on!!

Unlike other gyms around the staff actually knows what they're talking about, lol. They know a bit of it all from powerlifting, bodybuilding to athletic training and nutrition. You really need to go check it out for yourself!!
