I first started training with Jay in 2018 during college. I signed up for training because I figure I’d “try it out” as part of the gym I was in. I didn’t know what to expect and was going through the motions. I didn’t think it would make much difference.
I was wrong.
Of course, It wasn’t until I moved out of the country that I realized how impactful training with Jay was. Reflecting back: He knew when to push me, when I could take more and what areas needed work. That was rare. That is what you want by your side.
Fast forward to 2024. I wanted to impress a guy who was into fitness. So I searched the internet to work with Jay again and it was an immediate yes, with no convincing to start training again.
Did I impress that guy? No. But did I impress myself? Absolutely. Every step and push reminded me that I am more capable than I thought I was. And over time, that I am resilient.
Besides aesthetic goals, I’ve seen improvement in my diet, mental health and micro habits that have built discipline in life. I’ve become more sure of myself as a person. That is something that can never be taken away and I’m grateful for this decision to work on myself with Jay.

Jay is an absolute wizard of his craft. I’ve been a client of JGRNZ fitness for 10 years. The improvement in my physique and overall strength has been immense. First off the private studio is kept clean and tidy. There are plenty of sanitizing stations and the facilities are comfortable. Secondly, Jay provides detailed feedback and intra set corrections. He also is quick to identify regressions for challenging movements to ensure that you are training safely and optimally. This results in faster progress and further understanding of how your body moves. He is also a great person to converse with during training so the sessions feel more personal and beneficial. Jay responds promptly to questions and inquiries. Even after working with Jay for 10 years, training has remained challenging. Jay continuously finds ways to innovate his programs. I have a busy work schedule and Jay will often work with me to ensure I stay on track. The team Jay has fostered is a testament to the person he is. I’ve made many new friends in the gym and consistently recommend Jay to folks in my personal life who ask me about my training. I started working out with Jay when I was in a bit of a fitness rut. In just six months, I’ve made more progress than I have in years. We began by working on mobility and fixing imbalances, then gradually moved into heavier strength training with an emphasis on overall strength and fitness. I’m lifting more than I ever thought I could and feel stronger and more stable.
Jay is extremely knowledgeable about form, explains why we’re doing each movement, and knows how to push you in a motivating, supportive way. Been working with Jay for about 6 months now and I am extremely pleased with the results. After dealing with nerve damage and a major surgery in the spinal cord I needed some personalized training to get me back into things. Jay assessed my situation and put a program to target the muscles that have atrophied the most during the time I was dealing with the injury. I am a long way from where I’d like to be, but Jay has been working very hard to get creative to active the muscles that have not worked for years.

There’s no words for how much I appreciate all that Jay has done for me. I came to him with a lot of issues and limitations due to mobility problems. He tailored a program that was an absolute GAME CHANGER for me and I am 90% back to my mobility level in just 4 months time. I feel great and had almost given up on my fitness goals due to my limitations. Jay is the real deal!

I started training with Jay in October but known him for a few years. Jay is very professional and listens to what my goals are and work with me to achieve it. He knows when and how to push my limits but also know when to back off when I'm having difficulty doing certain tasks due to minor restrictions. If you're looking for a personal trainer for whatever goals you're trying to achieve, I would highly recommend him.

Jay is great! really pushes you to be the best and do your best. He worked though my sport injuries from high school. I have terrible knees that make doing some workouts hard. He worked though it and now my knees feel better and working out is a lot easier and reaching goals isn't painful
