After having my twins, I was dealing with abdominal separation and chronic hip pain while also desperately wanting to build muscle and strength. My doctors recommended surgery to repair the separation, but I was determined to try a non-invasive path through physical therapy and guided fitness. Because I knew that certain movements could actually make separation worse, finding the right instructor was crucial.
Thatβs when I found MaxWay. I signed up for their two-week trial and was sold after the very first day. Michelle took the time to walk through all my goals and obstacles, and she built a customized workout plan that supported every one of my specific needs.
Before kids, I was a yoga instructor and not used to a typical gym environment, but sessions with Michelle and Hanna made me feel comfortable and at easeβeven as a complete beginner to strength training.
I couldnβt recommend MaxWay more simply because PJ and the entire team work with you to truly adapt to your individual goals. Itβs the luxury of a personal trainer with the added support, energy, and community of a neighborhood gym.

My husband and I both love coming to MaxWay and make it a priority to schedule our separate times each week. My individualized workouts have helped me to improve my strength, balance and overall health to keep up with my two little girls. There are few other place I'd rather be at 5am! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for their new home to workout, get stronger and have regular laughs!

Michelle is wonderful she really understands my current limitations with my knees and back and modifies movement for me to both protect and strengthen the muscles that will improve them to increase my funtional mobility , strength and ROM. She also respects I have some knowledge about training already and discusses things with me at that level.

Itβs rare to find a gym that casts such a wide net effectively to many ages, abilities or even genders. Whether you are a student athlete, a pro athlete, or like me, a mom of 2 in her 30βs who is by no means an athlete and hasnβt worked out much since having said kids, you are welcome and can thrive here. There are (in my opinion) great class times, your workouts can be adapted as needed and I work out with people who range many generations and abilities! I highly recommend MaxWay to anyone who wants to get a great workout, and become stronger both physically and mentally.

I was looking for personalized fitness coaching geared towards my specific needs, to help avoid injury. The instructors are very attentive and helpful during training sessions, and they customize a workout plan based on my feedback. The small class structure ensures I get enough instruction to complete exercises correctly. The workout environment is very positive and friendly, and there's plenty of space and equipment for everyone (no waiting around for machines or weights to be available). I've tried other gyms, and CrossFit gyms rebranded as "functional fitness", but felt they were more focused on an 'everyone together' approach, instead of personalized training. MaxWay has been exactly what I was looking for - a small class environment with the benefits of having a personal trainer to help you meet your fitness goals.

Iβve never been a gym rat but really like Maxway. PJ built me a program that works on what I want to improve. Great coaches and a fun mixed-age crowd of people. I can get in and out quickly when I need to or spend more time when I have it. And I really like having the ability to sign up for a time slot knowing there wonβt be a hundred people there at the same time competing for space.

The course is fine but this 1 star review is in regards to the finance team. I have never missed a payment over a year and when requesting leeway for one week over the Christmas period was denied even though they βare here to be of assistance and helpβ an absolute joke.

I came to MaxWay 2 weeks after a severe hip flexor injury derailed my training for a major running event. They are amazing! They work directly with my PT to create programs to improve my strength, and even some creative cardio. The positive energy and fun atmosphere have me addicted! Now 3 weeks in, I have less pain, more flexibility, and Iβm able to integrate walking (baby steps) again. 33 days remain till my raceβ¦.trust the process, do the work, listen to your bodyβ¦.I know I would not be this far in my recovery without this talented team. Our daughter has attended MaxWay for just over a month now and she is really enjoying participating in the Youth Program! Our initial intention in signing our daughter up was for the holistic approach to the individual: exercise, nutrition, sleep, support, encouragement, goal setting, accountability, etc. And MaxWay has mastered that. We also want our daughter to feel comfortable in a gym setting, understand how to safely use equipment, how to make time for self-care at a young age, but also to be held accountable, encouraged and guided by experienced team members. She is getting all of that and much more.
We are grateful that PJ has created this environment for adults and for our youth who need as many positive experiences and role models in their lives! (Our only regret is not committing sooner!)

I have been training with PJ for years now. When I first started, I was having troubles climbing ladders which is a big part of my job. PJ assessed my needs and put together a training program to get me back climbing ladders with no pain and ease. He now has two more EXCELLENT coaches in Craig and Hanna. The atmosphere at the gym is positive and supportive, and will keep you coming back! Mornings at Maxway are my favorite days of the week.

Great new training facility. All trainers are very invested in their clients and really care about improving the fitness of clients. Good trainer to client ratio, classes are small and personalized. Has all the training equipment that you want in a gym. The lobby, which contains a foosball and ping pong table, is a super fun place to hangout before or after workouts. Best place to train in NH!!!

PJ is voted best trainer on the seacoast for a reason! He does a great job teaching form and keeping his clients accountable on their routines. He's very knowledgeable when it comes to strength & conditioning. He's also a great person and personally cares for the well-being of his members. Not only does he do a great job training kids of all ages but also offers great adult programs. On top of that, it's a well built out gym with all the equipment you need!
