Decent gym and a good price. The in app crowd meter though is wildly deceiving. It will say the crowd is 2 out of 10 (so really slow) and yet you are waiting in line for machines. Cardio always available, but not strength training machines.

Machines worked and where clean and maintained. Changing rooms where a disaster, disgusting. Today it was 90degree until midnight a shower would have been nice after a work out especially because it's a service planet fitness boasts about. The shower heads spray is worse than that of an outside rinse off shower for salt water. I'm sure staff do the best they can with a bad owner.

This PF has 4 Matrix (Spinning/Peleton type) bikes! Fantastic! Most PF have none, a few have one or two. Rest of the place is standard issue- plenty of cardio equipment, machines, and cable equipment. They could use another set of free weights- that area was cramped.

Dover NH location is always clean, it is always clean bathrooms, locker rooms and black spa area along with the machines.

I enjoy this location, it's employees are fabulous, very friendly, very knowledgeable.

Update : February 2025; I had a better experience than when I first visited six years ago. I could still hear weight slamming from inside the locker room.
Small lockers available outside the locker rooms. Wifi available. The staff I interacted with were friendly. Very spacious inside with quite a lot of cardio machines. Ample parking. I cannot recall if this is the only Planet Fitness with an illuminated sign in the parking 🅿️ lot. The equipment is up to date with all of the other PFs I have visited.
The men's locker 🛅 room was in decent shape. There was a staff member walking around cleaning. The overhead piping was dust free.
The massage chairs were working and comfortable.
There is a 30 Minute Workout area. All of these rooms at every PF seem to lose equipment and are becoming smaller.
If you are a PF member, I would recommend this one. It is busy!

I've been member pf for long time
When they got upgrade I didn't come there because I was busy but I'm still paying for my blackcard membership.
Today I came there with my wife after a long time. I saw her, I told her that after the pf upgrade, I couldn't login my account for some reasons. I pay for the blackcard for me and my wife. But she didn't let us in. She said my wife don't check in she couldn't let her in.
I kept saying that I'll get my account and send her the link later. But she didn't let her in. She is so picky to us.
The other guys are very nice.
And then I felt so upset, I canceled my account this morning.
Goodluck with that lady.

I have silver sneakers through Blue cross and I called Planet fitness in Dover this afternoon to make sure I had the correct certificate for membership. The person on the phone said just bring the certificate in and I would be all set. I went there tonight just before 8pm, met the girl at the desk who told me I would have to come back when a manager is on duty. I intend to inform BCBS of this embarrassing encounter. Poorly run.

UPDATE: I got a reply from PF saying that I should come back M-F before 5pm and see the manager. Today Friday Jan 24, 2024 at around 2:45 pm I arrived again and I was told by the same girl I met last time that the manager sometimes leaves early on Fridays and I would again have to come back a 3rd time to join. Totally ridiculous! i WISH i COULD GIVE ZERO STARS!

I come to this PF maybe 2 or max 3x per year as I live out of state and my work office is in Dover. Anytime I come, I either sign in for a day pass or pay for a day pass. I’m fine with either. THIS time, I get here ready to workout; I’m told that all passes go through their kiosks (ok), so I’m directed to one to do this. I go through the steps and I’m sent an email. In that email there are only options to buy a membership - nothing for any passes. When I bring this up to the front desk I, again; reiterate that I want a DAY PASS (not a guest pass) and the girl doesn’t seem to understand that. All she keeps saying is that a back card member had to be with me for me to get the pass. Which is not true if I’m looking for a day pass. I travel all over the country and have never had an issue with getting a day pass (whether I have to pay or not)if I’m using a PF facility. So, now I’ll leave without working out and the taste of absolutely horrible customer service in my mouth. Great job guys. Be better.

Really clean inside! The area is nice and spread out so machines aren’t crammed together. They have plenty of equipment unlike some planet fitness where they kind of lack some weight lifting machines. Cardio area is very large. I think the location has open recently if it didn’t it definitely looks like it is brand new. Black area is also always clean. 24 hour location so makes it really nice since some of the others around aren’t 24 hours. It is also located in the same parking lot as a Starbucks so definitely a plus for catching a workout before work in the morning. Locker room is very large with plenty of showers and really clean bathrooms!

My wife went in today to use our black card membership and was told since we didnt pay she cant go in. Worst part there were others behind her to hear this. I have never missed a bill and or payment and saw a hold for a couple days. This has already been held out of my account. No idea what membership blocks you from going in the day its due and we even explained the money is held to go to them in our account. Oh and after the employee said we didnt pay he turmed his back on her and walked away so rude. Manager of this place said its weird no idea why she was not allowed to go in. Worst part is she had her employees back wouldnt even hear or believe her employee would do this. Then asked i call my bank i did and the bank said every month is like this. No real appologize more that its our problem its ok i am in need of a new place soon. Theres maybe 1 or 2 nice employees here anyways. I say if you know payment is due on the 17th dont go in until a few days later. Save yourselves embarrasment.

Anyone know when this remodel at Dover will be finished. While I understand it may be to better the facility…this is super inconvenient considering all other gyms are 20+ minutes away and we’re spending more on gas to drive out of the way. For the most part I like it here and have no issue all the staff is friendly and helpful usually I went in today to get my app situated so I could pay my bill it was late the lady that addressed me didn't have the best manor and talked to me like I was an idiot I told her I'm aware of how everything works I pay every month I just need my info to log back in because they didnt get to charge me die to the amount if bills I already had I did get the issue resolved but however am not happy on how I was addressed I'll still go regardless but said lady should really work on her bed side manor and realize as a member most likely I know how the system works

As a black card member who always scans before any massage chairs or rooms I'm uncertain about the issues with the front desk computer. Three times, other members knocked on the door of the relaxing pod room, insisting there's nothing on the front desk computer and questioning why I was there. This repeated interruption during the "relaxing" sessions is highly annoying. I recommend training your employees or addressing the computer issue to guarantee a truly "relaxing" experience, as the current situation is quite frustrating.

Great gym, my fave to go to as a Black Card Member! Only issue I have is one particular woman that works there. She is very rude, and other members have said to me that they also say she’s rude and has had problems with her. She’s not a big issue, but she definitely has to be talked to with how to approach people better if they’re confused or need help etc.

This is my first Planet Fitness that I’ve been to and I have heard awful things that give PF a bad rep. After going here I don’t understand why. It’s affordable, everything is clean, well maintained, the staff is friendly and helpful! It can be busy at times but over all I rarely have to wait to use a machine. My only suggestion is to get better wifi, it can be very slow at times. I like how the machines have a QR code to scan for instructions on using the machine but sometimes they just will not load :(. Otherwise an amazing gym and I will continue to be a member here!

I like Planet Fitness. Makes me think of Pizza Planet in Toy Story. So, I run on the treadmill imagining myself as Woody chasing that moving truck. It's so close, yet so far away! And then I increase my treadmill speed, dialing it in as those red LEDs climb showing my speed increasing. For miles I chase that truck. I HAVE to get back to Bow and Buzz and that crazy slinky dog! Will I get there!? Will I make it?! I don't know if I'll ever know because my time on the treadmill has expired. I log my time and stats in the app I got from the Planet Fitness app by scanning the QR code on the machine I used. After I take advantage of one of the multiple cleaning stations, wiping down the machine I just used, I head to the rowing machine. Perhaps today will be the day that I find Nemo.

I’m trying to build up my routine again so I worked out and showered at this location and the locker rooms were gross. The floors looked like they hadn’t been swept in days and every drain in every shower was clogged with hair and had trash in them. The only shower that would turn hott for me had a used pad in the corner on the floor. It’s a good thing I came prepared with flip flops. I’ll never be back to workout or use the locker rooms at this location again.

I’ve been to all the Planet Fitnesses from Concord to Manchester, Lee, Rochester. The Dover gym is overall the best one. You have your people that go there to socialize but that’s everywhere. The layout in Dover flows very well, with more space than most of the other ones. I see most everyone wipe down their machines and this gym is clean. As a bonus this is the first Planet Fitness to start them all
