Yesterday, as I rode the exercise bike, I was very dismayed that I could not find the major news channels on TV. I particularly like to switch between Fox and CNN to follow current news and compare how the networks cover it-or not. I dislike exercising, but the TV news makes it palatable. I told the manager, but she said the changes, including removal of several TVs, were done without her being consulted, and she knew little about it. During the rest of my workout and while showering, I began thinking of finding an alternate fitness center which would be more to my needs. Just as I was leaving, the manager caught me and said she had someone working on it and Fox News was back up. I felt relieved. I realize that I am in a minority, but I felt I should let you know that watching the main cable news as well as occasionally local news and weather while working out is important to me. I am not interested in the cooking shows, talk shows, soap operas, etc.

Wife and I have been going regularly for months now and enjoy the clean facilities and friendly staff. Between getting greeted when entering and a friendly goodbye when leaving. Clean facilities and for the most part the paper towels and spray bottles are never empty. There are only two reasons why this gym hasn’t received five amazing stars are that there can be a wait for the more popular machines and that this particular gym doesn’t have some amenities that most other gyms in the area have, such as the tbe pods.I have been wanting to try one out and the lee location is the only one in my area that doesn’t offer it.

Calm, respectful environment with workout oriented people. Most everyone wipes down the equipment they just worked on. Staff are responsive when approached especially with the frequently empty paper towel and sanitizer stations that are conveniently placed throughout the gym.
Planet Fitness has truly created a "no judgement" zone. It matters not if you have the latest workout clothes or your off the street ware. It matters not if you can pump that iron or choose the easiest settings on workout machines. Their app shows crowded vs. less crowded times and info on their available workout devices. You definitely can't beat their prices! I highly recommend Planet Fitness.

I cannot express how much me and my boyfriend LOVE choosing Planet Fitness as our gym. We work 2nd shift and get out late and having this place be open for us is amazing. I'd like to bring attention to the staff there who keep it very neat and clean and always have a smile on their face. Special thanks to Tracy Downs who is usually there when we arrive and greets us and see us out! She is awesome and always makes us feel welcome. She even charged my phone when I wanted to go for a massage so I could put in my appointment. Highly recommend to any age if you want to start your fitness journey.

I was unable to go due to a wrist surgery and was charged a bunch of late fees even though my payment information was in the system. The manager was able to waive the fees and cancel my membership however a month after she “cancelled” it I was charged $30. I emailed the manager about it and got no response that time, then called and the manager said she would remove my payment information and work on refunding it. I emailed her again to check if the problem had been resolved and got no response AGAIN. I was very disappointed and will not be getting a membership there when I’m healed. I recommend going to the Stratham one instead. When I emailed another email they had sent me they were unable to help and told me to call the gym AGAIN. People shouldn’t have to keep contacting and play phone tag trying to get a simple problem fixed. Very frustrating.

They updated the cardio equipment at this location recently, there are 5 stairmasters now, about the same number of treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes. The majority of the lifting equipment is the same. This location doesn't seem to get as crowded as some of the others in the area which is nice. Additionally, this particular location is on the smaller size compared to some others. Staff are all friendly and responsive.

Very deceptive business practice to only freeze an account and not honor a phone / verbal cancellation. Furthermore, automatic payment withdraw without approval is criminal when a person has tried to cancel an account via phone and proper identification. I will not recommend this place to anyone!

Do not join Planet Fittness. They are a parasite. It's very easy to join, very difficult to quit, especially if you move across the country. Their customer service is apparently non-existent. Their business model is to be so cheap, you forget that you have them and they take advantage of that. Do yourself a favor, spend a little extra money, and join a decent local gym.

Update: if you can join online, you should be able to quit online. Requiring a person to appear before you or send a certified letter is ridiculous. People have busy lives and people move. I'm not sure how much time you have or if you have stamps and envelopes hanging around, but I do not. Update your policy, get with the times, and make it so people can end their membership online or with a phone call, please.

Overall, it's a standard fitness experience, highly average, which is a good thing - you know what to expect. The rafters, ceilings, and fans are filthy with dust, the franchisee should be arranging for regular cleanings of the rafters and vents for health and safety reasons, especially with COVID and flu season approaching. I'm not sure if it's a consistent problem right now, but it's pretty disgusting to look at, especially when it looks like snow falling.

The manager moved the light weights to a different place where it’s not convenient for customers and regardless of several customers complains won’t move them back. Their music is always loud now as well even drowning the music from your head phones no matter how high the head phone volume is. I used to love this gym the new manager, now you just go there because it’s convenient.

Of the planet fitness options in the area I dont like the lee option. Typically pf is good but this location is too small and on this occasion the members were not following covid protocols which was very upsetting. Standing around talking without masks, not cleaning equipment when finished. I left and will not use that facility.

A couple of weeks ago I was accidentally charged twice by this planet fitness for a bottle of tanning lotion. I saw this on my bank statement and called the gym to have it taken care of. The employee I spoke to told me they would hand over my information to the manager and have him call me but I didn’t hear for a couple weeks. I called again and was able to speak with the manager who had this taken care of for me right away. I wasn’t able to drive to this location to pick up the cash so the manager Gregg decided he would just mail me a 20 dollar visa gift card to my house (which was more than the amount of the tanning lotion). Gregg expressed that he was not made aware of the situation from the employee and apologized for this. It’s easy for employees to forget this kind of stuff but thankfully Gregg went above and beyond in taking care of it as soon as I spoke with him about it. Thank you Gregg!

I love that the price is affordable to all. I love that you teach classes to know how to use the machines. I love the hydro massage beds and tanning beds included with the black card.
