We have been going to PAC for almost 2 years now and we are able to bring our two children to the nursery. Ms. Roma takes such wonderful care of our kids and we never have to worry about them while we take time for ourselves! The gym itself has wonderful equipment for any workout you want to do. We love PAC and we are so thankful we can bring our kids!

I can’t say enough good things about PAC. Our community is so lucky to have a gym like this. The classes are fantastic and you can tell the trainers put a lot of thought and energy into their class structure. Having a nursery at this gym has been a game changer as well as a huge part of our lives and daily routine. Roma, the nursery manager is absolutely incredible. She is so patient with the kids and you can tell she just truly loves what she does. The kids love her too. Mine ask for her every day. We love it here and highly recommend!

Love PAC! It’s not only a gym, it’s also a community and the clases are fantastic! Members and stuff are lovely. Everyone is willing to help you if you don’t have a lot of working out experience.
I wish I’d have joined before!!

Where we have young children, the nursery option that comes with our family membership is nothing short of a game-changer. The group classes are fun, challenging, and informative. Combine the nursery with the classes and you might think you’ve found the ultimate life hack. And given the excellence of PAC’s instructors and staff, you’d be 100% correct.

Looked promising until I noticed that they have one steam room, dedicated to men only. Not interested in giving my money to a business that doesn’t appear to care about providing equal amenities for both women and men.

This is a fantastic gym! I've been coming here for 3 years and the staff and facilities are truly excellent. They are always keeping the space clean & organized and promptly replace broken or outdated equipment. It's not too crowded and all the members are super friendly. Tons of squat racks, dumbbells, machines, classes, open spaces, mirrors, cardio machines, saunas, and other features they have upgraded over the years. For what they offer here, the price is very good. Especially considering it's at a walkable location in the West End, and next door to a bunch of other really cool spots (Otto, Treeline Outfitters, Botanica, etc).

I swore I’d never pay for another membership to a gym ever again. Why pay for a self-imposed torture chamber? For years though, my friend raved about PAC, the community and its group classes (followed by amazing results) so I relented. Now I’m mad at myself for waiting so long. I’ve been a member for just about a year and a half and I find myself looking forward to each class. “Yay! It’s Monday morning! I get to do RPM with Lynn, my favorite!” or “Yay! It’s Tuesday morning! I get to do Step with Ashley, my favorite!” or “Yay! It’s Wednesday morning! I get to do Combat with Meg and Jocelyn, my favorite!” (You get the drift - they’re all my favorite!). While they have a fully stocked, spacious and clean facility for the do-it-yourself workouts, the big-group energy is my jam. The instructors push me way harder in class than I could push myself which makes the membership fee worth every penny.

Great gym for especially for athletes. Has a lot of great equipment. I’m from out of town and visited on a Sunday and it wasn’t busy at all then.

This is the place!! The culture of this gym is genuinely nice, inclusive, and chill. Everyone is there to work hard and have a good time, I’ve never felt a competitive or intimidating energy here - from staff and clients alike. Shout out to Roma in the nursery! Having a gym with childcare is so valuable as a parent, and Roma is incredibly kind, patient and loving with the kids (from infants to big kids). The gym and locker rooms are super clean and well maintained. The price is also reasonable for what you get, compared to other studios in the area. I have no complaints!

PAC is my home away from home! The variety of group fitness classes they offer means there is something for everyone! The instructors and staff are helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive in reaching your fitness goals! The veteran members make all new members feel welcomed into the PAC family! And we’re lucky enough to have a lot of fun & laughs along the way! 10/10 recommend

WARNING! This company uses shady business practices when it comes to membership cancelation and has terrible customer service. (Was promised half the cost of membership charges after we had tried canceling our membership 3 times (including over the phone which they state on their website as a way to cancel) and they didn't actually cancel it - then told instead that they'd give 3 month membership even though they know we live out of state. We were informed of this offer change THREE MONTHS after bringing up the issue of them not canceling our membership.) And while apparently it's legal, they can acquire your new credit card information without you giving direct consent (just so people are aware and hopefully don't have to experience this for themselves)! Literally the worst I've ever been treated by a business and the membership was for over decade (including keeping the membership during the pandemic). This is how they treat loyal customers!! 😡 Take your business elsewhere if you want to be treated with respect

Portsmouth Athletic Club is truly one of the best gyms I’ve been part of in my lifetime.
Group workouts are FUN, challenging, and supportive with a true sense of community. The personal trainers are some of THE best on the seacoast.
I look forward to my workouts here not only because of the atmosphere but because of the fabulous team. HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Just don’t steal my workout times:)

They raise the price every few months, yet the service and quality of the club stays the same or potentially goes down.

This club is only valuable because of the sauna.

Using a fake account because I’m still a member here (looking for a new gym though) and don’t want to get called out by the staff because I’ve seen them do it. The high school kids here have no respect for other gym goers. They’re constantly yelling, taking up entire machines despite barely using the equipment and taking an abundance of time between sets, chattering, running around the weight room shirtless, and leaving messes. For paying $80/month, I’d expect some better management from staff. Meanwhile, these kids who are clearly here under their parents wallets run amuck. Not to mention, the turf areas that I initially joined this gym for are constantly used by youth training camps that aren’t marked on the facility’s weekly “schedule”. It’d be easier to plan my workouts if they could stick to a schedule for the areas that I’d like to use. Just seems like they’re pandering to rich parents and their spoiled kids. Last but not least, the hours are extremely limiting. Closing at 8pm? And 5pm on weekends? For the price that we pay monthly, I expect a little better. Looking for a new gym soon if things don’t improve.

Edit: they’ve increased their monthly price and let us know through an email. No respect for their existing customers.

They reward their members who stayed through COVID with an increase in membership price from 60-80 with a sneaky spam email. We get nothing in return with this price increase, so the sad assumption is they are forcing your hand to stay open. Hate to see it.

Overall not impressed with Seacoast the last year during this pandemic. I will outline both good and bad :

Good
-Newer equipment. Especially cardio room and turf area.
-Walking distance for anyone living in or near downtown Portsmouth
-Young professional crowd in the evening
-Indoor turf training

Bad
-Small and broken up spaces. 5 people in any area seems packed.
-Staff is all over the place. Often older staff working who know zero about the fitness industry....or younger who can barely lift their head to welcome you.
-Very relaxed mask/cleaning rules. Countless staff with mask off and way too many members with masks off. Never really see anyone cleaning except the sole maintenance guy. Highly advise you clean anything you use BEFORE you touch it.
-Constant political shows on the TV's.
-Poor music selection 24/7

I just want to say that I am thankful for all of the hard work and care that Seacoast sports has been putting in this past year to ensure the gym remains a safe place to workout and continue to build a community. I am great full to everyone who works there and the members who continue to follow the cdc guidelines with a positive attitude ! Thank you for all your smiles and hard work! Also the classes here are amazing!

I love this gym, I have been a member at Seacoast Sports Club for 6 years. I also teach Spin and teach pilates through balanced body in Boston, as well as sub in many facility's. This is by far the cleanest gym I've worked in as well as they make sure your credits as a fitness instructor are up to date. . I just sub there due to my work schedule. It's a top notch gym with a ton of classes with great certified instructors and personal trainers. If you want a clean gym that legit has top of the line equipment and trainers this is the gym for you.

The west end location was never really clean and didn't offer much. You don't get cell service in the basement and the wifi never worked so it was always a silent workout. I will say, greenleaf was a lot better but not worth the cost. They should have a simple plan that is $30 a month where you just pick one of the locations and choose not to participate in any of the classes. As it stands, it is not worth the monthly cost + Reg Fee+ Annual Fee

One of the best gyms in the area, has every class you can think of, great staff, all the strength training equipment you could need, plus a huge functional training room. This is your friendly neighborhood gym where you truly feel like you are a part of a community committed to health. This is my happy place :)
