The Athletic Way has been a game changer for me. I was recommended to join from some close friends, and I’m glad I did because it has exceeded all my expectations. I used to dread going to the gym and found it hard to stay motivated for more than a short period, but all the trainers here are so helpful and motivating - it’s been awesome. I’ve been going for four months now and can easily see this being a longterm solution for my health and fitness!

Fantastic gym! I was looking for a way to get back into fitness after a layoff, and this was the perfect place. All the trainers are exceptional and the programs are individually tailored to your goals. Plenty of time slots to choose from. Highly recommend!

Started at TAW after 2 major medical issues that left me scared to do anything physical, feeling defeated, self conscience and weak. My family encouraged me to try TAW. I went in very nervous and unsure. I am happy to say that 4 months in, I can't imagine not having it as a part of my week. There is no pressure, no comparing yourself to others. Everyone has their own pace and goals. Your only competition is you! My physical, mental and emotional health have all benefitted from TAW, I am very grateful!

Back in the summer of 2022 I decided to start training with The Athletic Way after chatting with some friends and reading the reviews. I was in my late 50s, had a history of pain with my hip, back and shoulder, and did not feel as strong and I wanted to, and knew I needed to change the tide...I wanted my confidence back! But I did not want to be part of a one size fits all class program. I wanted more specific direction and training, and that is why I went with TAW. 3 years later, and almost 300 sessions down, I'm stronger, more resilient and more confident than when I was in my 40s. The personal programming and attention from the TAW Team is amazing, and the motivation and energy from the small session size is the perfect blend to give me what I want and need! Not only am I stronger, but I have more energy which has allowed me to truly enjoy every day and now I love being active even more on all of our adventures (and pain free!). Lastly, even with all of my progress throughout the initial 2 years, I wanted to take the results up even more and that is when I decided to jump in on the Spring Challenge. The Challenge brought another level of accountability, and the perfect plan to help me establish a new routine that has brought me even more success over the past 20 weeks...and I'm keeping it going! If you are looking to gain strength and energy so you can truly enjoy all of life, and do so in a way that will set you up for the long term, TAW is the place to be!

The short of it= Athletic Way is amazing! Highly recommend if your looking for tailored training and working around old injuries.

The details= I gave The Athletic Way a try simply due to its proximity, and crossed my fingers it was a decent gym as I am a working mom with a job in Boston and time is my #1 challenge. I feel incredibly lucky to say TAW is beyond anything I ever expected. Kyle and his team of trainers are exceptional, and thanks to their programs and guidance I am already seeing changes and I am barely 3 months in. I have old injuries and range of motion challenges, the team at TAW has designed programs for me which are actively improving these issues. I am seeing strength gains I haven't seen since my twenties and my pain has improved thanks to their careful instructions. I am feeling more confident, seeing more tone and fitting in clothes I had stopped wearing as they were previously too tight.

The atmosphere is relaxed and productive, I had never trained this way before and I am very much enjoying it. Essentially the sessions are a group of about 6 people, all doing their own programs, but with Kyle and his team walking thru- giving 1:1 assistance, correcting form and teaching proper technique. Direct 1:1 training and at home programs, monthly/periodic challenges and conditioning classes are also available.

The availability of time slots is great- lots of choices and very flexible, which is great for me as my job can be unpredictable at times.

I would say the price is reasonable for the quality of attention and tailored programming you're getting and Kyle is able to help design a program for your body and budget if the cost is too restrictive for you.

Highly recommend this location!! The team is great, programs top notch and facility clean, no fuss/work driven.

TAW is a great place to start working out if you haven’t in a long time or never have. I started 2 and a half years ago when I was 16 and I love it. My whole family goes and it’s brought us closer. It’s motivated me to keep working out in college. TAW is a family I’m grateful to be apart of.

I've been at The Athletic Way for over a year, which is a bigger milestone than I've ever been able to reach while trying out other fitness programs on my own over the years. I still have a ways to go, but thinking back to when I started, there's so much that I can do now that wasn't possible for me before, and I have this program to thank for that. Lisa, Kyle, Rhianna, and Brooke have all been such a joy to work with. There's an infectious, positive spirit of celebrating our hard work that makes you want to give it your all. Couldn't recommend The Athletic Way more highly!

Before joining the TAW family back in 2018, I was always an athlete. I'd played hockey my whole life, and after my competitive hockey years were over, I turned my athletic focus to golf. I was staying active, but was noticing that I was not as strong and confident as I once was. That's when I reached out to TAW, and I've been going strong ever since!

Now, 7 years later, I'm as strong and fit as I ever was, and because of that I'm able to enjoy golf to fullest without the typical aches, pains and limitations that are so commonly joked about (but are real) between the guys. 8 years ago, I never thought I’d be able to crush a training session at 6 AM and then immediately go walk 18 holes of golf.

Even more, I'm confident that whatever physical activities I may venture into I can have fun with and not have to shy away from. Whether that is a pick up game of hockey, a hike with the family, dominating yard work or if my kids want to do something crazy, I'm in!

The team at TAW has also helped me be more accountable and dependable in my day to day life. As hard as it is to wake up at 5 AM some mornings, I am always happy that I got out of bed and got after it.

TAW has helped me to take my health and fitness to the next level, allowing me to continue to truly enjoy being active, and all of the benefits of having a healthy, strong and resilient body that I'm confident in now and for the long term.

The Athletic Way has been a game-changer for me. I was recommended to Kyle and the team and right from the evaluation it has been a great experience. My shoulder was bothering me from years of tennis so the team put me on a plan and in under three months I was pain free.
This is not only a gym with great trainers. They put me on a nutrition plan, gave me off-day workouts, and check in on my progress outside of my sessions. You get so much more than the training sessions at other gyms. After six months I am seeing some great results. If you are looking to get back in shape the right way, give them a call!

The Athletic Way enabled me to change my life for the better in every way. I became a TAW athlete in 2023 after a difficult event in my life. To say I started slow is an understatement but what a terrific environment to take on a new challenge. TAW provides a supportive community in addition to world class training for all ages and abilities. I remember thinking “there is no way I could complete a core and conditioning class.” Now I faithfully attend twice a week and love it (after I’m finished 😊). Skipping ahead to today (I could rave on and on) l am 30 pounds lighter, work out 5 days a week, and most importantly, feel great about myself and my life. Thank you TAW!

Best thing I’ve ever done for myself. The coaches are amazing! I look forward to going to every session. So tough but worth the effort!

Updated review. Lately I have had some serious back pain. Kyle, Rhi and Brooke have done an amazing job tailoring my workouts to get me through this. This is the reason I go here and not the Planet Fitness type gyms.

The Athletic Way has been terrific for me. I went there based on my wife’s recommendation. My goal was to reduce back pain, knee pain and to increase strength and fitness for golf and running. The owner Kyle started me with an evaluation and then developed a custom program to help my flexibility and strength. I have been going twice per week for 10 weeks. The results have been very positive. My back feels better, my flexibility is better and I am already hitting the golf ball farther. The coaching at each session from Kyle, Ri and Brooke had been a big help. The Athletic Way is a great gym!

I started training here in January. My only regret is that I didnt start 2 years ago when my doctor originally mentioned it to me. Kyle, Ri, and Lisa have all been great walking me through my personalized training program and in less than 3 months I’m truly blown away with my progress. I love how i feel after training, i have so much more energy, regular aches in my hips and back are gone, my golf swing has improved, and I’m seeing outward changes to my body. I truly cannot recommend enough.

I have been training consistently at TAW for over a year after working out on and off again since I retired collegiate athletics 10 years ago. They set you up for success with your personalized workout plan and create a welcoming environment catered to wherever you are at in your fitness journey! They’ve helped me get the discipline to workout back into my life. The staff is made up of grade A people who clearly care about you in and out of the gym. There is also a great sense of community within the gym as well. I couldn’t be happier with the decision to get back in shape at the TAW!

I started training with TAW in early 2018 for about a year and a half. Initially I just wanted to join my 14 year-old daughter who was a basketball player coming back from injuries and looking to start resistance training. I had never trained with weights before and in no way thought of myself as an athlete, ever. My daughter unlearned a lot of the bad (i.e., potentially harmful) ways of training she’d picked up from various coaches and truly learned how to work out effectively and safely. I got stronger and figured out how to do things like carry bags of wood pellets without hurting myself. Those years training with my daughter - and driving half an hour to the gym listening to her playlists - were so happy. My daughter went on to get a sports scholarship to a prestigious high school and then became a D1 recruited athlete. Unlike almost all of her peers, she has had zero physical injuries (except unavoidable concussions) to this day. She has great judgment about how to train and protect herself from injury and remains absolutely wild about strength training. I took a break from TAW after my daughter left for school. I thought I couldn’t spare the time. Then about 2.5 years ago I convinced my husband to join me and training became a priority for both of us. We are so much stronger and more fit. My husband looks amazing! We have done a lot of hiking in the past couple of years and I can really feel the difference in my strength, stamina, and cardiovascular fitness. I have also taken huge steps to prioritize sleep and nutrition since coming to TAW. TAW is fun and highly effective but the best thing about it are the coaches. They are truly the best people — dedicated, super attentive, amazing role models, absolutely professional, and highly responsive. If you show up with some pain, or you overdid it with the yard work the day before, they just reconfigure your program so you still get a good workout without aggravating anything. They work with your physical therapist to support your healing. They always have helpful advice and provide expert programs to work out from home or when traveling, customized for you and your issues. They are highly engaged, watching you work out and asking how it feels, making adjustments, etc. Most of all they are kind. TAW is the best thing I spend money on. The community is so supportive and positive. Even after a tough day, I always arrive feeling so grateful to be there and leave feeling better. I am super proud of myself for prioritizing my health. Our kids (in their 20s) brag about how strong my husband and I are, and most importantly, we can keep up with them pretty well. I have come to love the challenge of training and feel confident in my body. I adore working out with my husband. Finally, I am so impressed with the way TAW has worked with me to stay connected. I work an hour away at a demanding job and live half an hour away. Last year my father was ill and I was away a lot but they were unfazed by my schedule challenges. TAW is an incredible gift in my life! Thank you, everyone!

I started going to TAW as a recommendation from my doctor due to recurring lower back problems. I had been working out consistently 5-7 days a week but a couple of times a year, I would suffer from back injuries that would harm my progress. I started at TAW after my latest lower back woes and they put together a program that not only quickly knocked out the pain I was experiencing at the time but also strengthen my lower body and core to prevent these issues from happening again. I'm about 6 months in now and thoroughly enjoying my time at the gym, love the trainers and the community at TAW. I was an athlete all the way up through college and never thought I really needed help with my fitness routine but I've learned that even with past training and feeling extremely comfortable in the gym, we all still fall into bad habits and it's very difficult creating and sticking to a holistic workout plan. The variety of workouts keep things interesting and the crew there keeps me motivated. Also, after my first 6 week program my muscle mass is up and fat % is down and nothing is better than seeing results.

I cannot say enough positive things about Kyle, this gym, and the motivational gurus/hype team/lifting masters that they have as trainers.

TAW prepared my wife and I for the 29029 Everesting challenge which is by far the most difficult thing we have ever done. They worked with us around injuries and made sure our bodies and minds were ready to be pushed as far as we could go.

The community they have built around the gym is so welcoming and supportive I find myself missing being there if I can’t go on my normal schedule.

Rhi and Lisa are rockstar trainers and Kyle is an absolute master. If you’re looking for a gym that will safely get you to your physical goals, look no further

After battling digestive issues throughout my 20s and having surgery to fix what was going on, I found myself run down and in the worst physical shape of my life. I knew I needed to make changes, but also had concerns about old sports injuries firing back up due to my lack of training the past 10 years. After some searching, I happened upon The Athletic Way, and emailed Kyle.

Kyle was very responsive. We chatted on the phone to review my questions and concerns, and within a week, I came to the gym for an assessment. The rest is history, and I can unequivocally say, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made.

Each program is crafted to support you and your goals while also considering where you are at on your personal journey. I had concerns about my knees due to old injuries and I was given exercises to help strengthen specific areas to prevent any issues. Kyle and the other trainers, Rhianna and Lisa, are top notch, knowledgeable, and highly engaged during your sessions. Due to the small group setting, they are always watching you, correcting your form when needed, and asking for feedback on what you feel, how you feel, etc. This creates a sense of security, instills self confidence, and ensures you can excel in your fitness journey.

One of my favorite things about The Athletic Way is how supportive the other members are. It's a positive, tight knit community, where others are encouraging and happy to see you succeed. I look forward to all my sessions and have hit significant milestones since joining 8 months ago. The Athletic Way has become a second home surrounded by the best family and I look forward to many more years of growth and success!

I really enjoy working out here. I wasn't sure if I needed help since my goal has been improving strength. Which I thought I could do on my own, but thought I'd give it a go and see how things went. I'm getting more out of my workouts than I ever was, the little form corrections (to be sure I'm doing an exercise properly) has been a huge help for me. I'm finally feeling the muscle work, that's supposed to be working. As a bonus, I've lost weight and gained muscle in the few months I've been working out here. Which is a really good thing for someone my age and was one of my goals.

I'm a snowboard coach and every season it takes me 3 months to get into shape to ride for the last month so this year I decided I needed to join a gym, but which one?

I have specific snowboarding style goals and have never learned how to work out properly. Sure, I go hiking, biking, kayaking, etc. but I'm looking for specific results. I've looked into Crossfit, Orange Theory, Planet Fitness, etc. and while those looks like good solutions for general work outs, I really wanted a personal trainer. But to hire a trainer is pretty costly and really I figured I only need one a few times a week for a short period of time. They don't need to eagle eye watch me the whole time, just get me started with a plan, correct my form, and keep me going. What I really want is to share a coach.. and there is where The Athletic Way comes in.

My doctor is a member and recommended I give them a shot so I contacted Kyle (the owner) and he is awesome. He is all about personal fitness and helping you meet your goals. They have some options to try a class and do trial discounted memberships, while none of it is cheap, it is well worth it. How does it all work?

My first time was a free intro 'class' and I explained what specific goals I had in mind and they had me do a serious of exercises to build a baseline, look for injuries, and then come up with a plan just for me. I then signed up for a trial month.

I was wondering that maybe everybody just gets the same plan. Sort of like how Orange Theory has classes, but I was assured that this plan was for me, and boy was it! The 'classes' are 6 people max, and there are usually 2 coaches there to help the whole time. You get all the attention you need. They continually float around and correct form, give direction, and answer questions. They can be really technical if you want, a hard nose, or really gentle, whatever works best for you. I've noticed that everybody really is on their own plan. We are basically time sharing an expert coach(s). When you first start you need a lot more help than when you've been going for a while.

Some students are focused on specific injuries (almost like PT), some play a sport, some are losing weights, etc. and ages range from young teen to grandparents. It is amazing to see people at all stages. Nobody wears earbuds and it is like a little community. I'm on the shy side but was very welcomed by the coaches and other members.

You sign up for timeslots and that is when you go. I keep putting 'class' in quotes because it is just more of a time slot. You have 6 students each in their own 'class' with the coaches bouncing around helping. The exercises are built around core and using your body weight, free weights, not as much for machines. And as I've learned this builds your balance and stabilizer muscles. So how has it worked out for me?

Well I've been going for about 8 weeks and I feel stronger, healthier, and more flexible, but how is my snowboarding? Well, I go to New Jersey for indoor snowboarding a few times in the summer and just came back. It was amazing I was able to do butter tricks so much more easily. I never got tired and my body felt like it was 15 years younger. I even took a hard fall doing a trick on a feature and it was like I was in carbon fiber amour, no injury and I just popped back up. I may be in the best shape of my life.

So the results are there for sure. As an added bonus what I've been doing is taking what they teach me (I take a picture of my plan) and share it with my daughter. And in fact they encouraged and helped me with this! I need cardio but Kyle said, "It makes no sense for you to pay for a class to have you run on treadmill for 30 minutes." so I do that at Planet Fitness. We then go to PF on her black card and workout a bit together. That way I can use the twice a week plan at TAW, and then when my schedule works I go to PF with my kid, we all win!

The only thing missing is since it isn't a traditional gym you can't just go anytime (like PF). But you can join PF for like $10 and do that too!

I consider The Athletic Way to be a true gem in Bedford. If you’re looking for a typical gym environment, you won’t find that here. What you will find is an incredibly dedicated team of coaches who are friendly and knowledgeable, wonderful members who are so welcoming and kind, and you’ll receive a workout plan that is customized to your specific goals. As a mid-30s, female distance runner who doesn’t love strength training, I find myself looking forward to the days I have a workout at TAW! I have seen improvements in my running workouts because of the strength training I have layered in, and I know in the long run, my workouts at TAW are just helping me be fit for everyday life!

I also love the emails sent each week with healthy recipes and educational content. I think TAW does an awesome job addressing health as a whole - from workouts, to nutrition, to supplements, etc. - and helping members understand these components so they can live their healthiest lives.

Thank you, Kyle for creating such an awesome community, I’m really happy I found TAW this year!

I've been going to TAW for six months now. I really look forward to my time at the gym! All of the trainers (Kyle, Rhi, Lisa) all know their stuff and are there to support you. I love that my program is changed every month, so I never get bored. I have seen a lot of improvement in my strength and overall fitness. The best part is, as a runner, I have seen big improvements in my stamina. I recently ran a personal best in the half marathon, beating my previous time by 3 minutes which is huge! I can't help but credit my time at TAW for making that possible.
I also find the environment really welcoming. All of the members are in varying stages of their fitness journey and everyone I have met is friendly and competitive in a fun way.
**update**I've now been at the gym for almost a year and still find the workouts engaging and challenging and the environment is so supportive! This past weekend they held their bi-annual TAW games and, though I was a bit nervous, I found that I performed better than I thought I could. As an older woman, strength training is key to staying fit and healthy as I continue to age. I recommend that anyone looking to improve their fitness should consider TAW as part of their plan to meet that goal.

Since writing a review almost a year ago, The Athletic Way has continued adding EVEN MORE benefits to this already AMAZING gym...
EVEN MORE quality workout space, even more great equipment, even more session-time choices, even more of the impactful member Challenges, incentives, programs.
And the addition of yet another outstanding coach, Coach Lisa, joining Head Coach Kyle and Coach Rhi. An AWESOME trio that keep my motivation and learning flowing strong through each and every workout.
Always at TAW, a continuous pattern of more and more good things for us members, too much to list!

Many times as gyms develop and grow, members grow weary with management cutting corners, worn out equipment, too many memberships sold to accommodate all the active members, etc, etc.

In contrast, at TAW, with growth and more growth, I see more and more added benefits, the same high standard for cleanliness,, same top-notch condition of equipment, and especially in this past year, the extraordinary care and planning taken to assure TAW can best accommodate all members while it continues to attract new ones.
GO TAW!! You continue to make my life SO much better!!

(Initial review of 12/31/22 below)...
The Athletic Way (TAW) has been a part of my life for close to four years. From Day One I thought, "IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!" And for so many reasons, I have continued believing this each and every day since.

The extensive knowledge-base, continuous learning, diverse experience and deep-deep passion for what they do, make each coach truly phenomenal! They believe in you, in your potential to succeed and in their skilled practices to get you there.

Kyle Arsenault, Owner and Head Coach, has instilled an atmosphere at TAW that is positively welcoming, comfortable and down-to-earth. Coach Rhianna and all she has brought to TAW underscores this even more. Both coaches are so well-liked, so easily respected and admired, both professionally and for who they are as people. So much so that you want to work even harder so as not to let either one of them down.

All of this is also reflected in the wonderful members at TAW--some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet. All ages--young teens to 70s-plus. All levels--new-to-fitness to elite athletes. You will not feel like a new member for long because anyone you meet will make you feel welcome.

At any given workout, between coaches and members, the level of motivation, inspiration and camaraderie in the air is off the charts.
The gym layout is great, always kept really clean, and the equipment consistently maintained in top-functioning order.

Whether you are simply looking for a change; just coming out of physical therapy; trying to lose weight; seeking sport-specific improvement; getting no where with your present fitness efforts; or ANY reason under the sun, chances are 99.9% that TAW is the place for you to achieve the results you want. The coaches have what it takes and more to get you there!

Personally for me, prior to joining TAW, I was losing hope in maintaining strength and worried I would let age get the better of me. Two hip replacements followed by an additional hip revision, all within three years of my early 60s, left me discouraged as I declined in strength and fitness level that I worked so hard to maintain through life. My first visit to TAW immediately changed all that useless stressing. I knew I was in the right place because everything about TAW was exactly what I always dreamed of in a gym, including the powerfulness of great coaching. It was now just a matter of time and it did not take long to see striking positive results. The issues that came with my hip surgeries became well-forgotten history. All the benefits of TAW continue with me every day, improving more than I ever thought possible, and continually learning so much from the best.

I highly recommend The Athletic Way for anyone wanting to become stronger, healthier and overall happier in life!

After years of gradually worsening knee pain and loss of fitness I decided that when I retired I would finally actually focus on doing something about it. I felt that in my late sixties it was time to reverse the trend! My experience at The Athletic Way has been really successful. The persistent knee pain has resolved and I feel remarkably stronger and younger. I had tried some other programs in the past, but became discouraged and did not stick with them. What sets Kyle and his staff apart is their level of knowledge, the small group setting which allows coaches to keep an eagle eye on your form, and their ability to adapt your workout to safely overcome old injuries and any discomfort encountered along the way with immediate adaptations to allow continued progress. There is also a fantastic community of people there including all ages, shapes and levels of experience who just want to get healthier. It is a very welcoming environment. Two days a week with their program has really produced some wonderful results for me. There was some initial stiffness and soreness, but now I go to every session amazed by how much better I feel and it carries over into more comfort and effectiveness in all the other activities of my life. I am riding my horse better, I can speed up the stairs again, take long walks without knee pain, move things around the house easily, my balance is more secure and I just feel better overall. I can wholeheartedly recommend this program to others.

Before attending TAW I researched as I'm sure many others have. I read the google reviews and some resonated with me and I thought...maybe? I checked out their website and thought...this is what I need...but, is this REALLY what it is?

I am here to tell you...IT IS...and MORE. My first meeting with Kyle for an "evaluation" was in depth and he took the time to tell me WHY he had me do certain things and WHAT he was looking for. I didn't feel rushed, I didn't feel pressured, he put me at ease and actually made me feel like, yes, this was for me and this was where I needed to start.

I opted for the semi private classes. They are just as described, very small groups with attentive coaching and motivators throughout the entire time. (Kyle, Rhianna and Lisa) Any questions concerns I had were immediately addressed. I would (and will) recommend TAW to anyone who is looking to get back into a healthy lifestyle whether you are a novice or life long athlete. I can honestly say TAW actually exceeded my expectations and I am more than happy with everything I got out of their program.

I have only been a member of TAW for a month and a half, but what a difference that month and a half has been. One of TAW's members told me about Kyle and Rhi after I shared my story which I will now share again. At the beginning of the year, I came down with COVID. Unfortunately mine wasn't "feels like a cold". I was struck hard. A week of finally getting over COVID, I came down with bronchitis. A week after I was feeling better, I came down with what the doctor thought was bronchitis again. When my symptoms continued, he sent me to a pulmonolgist to check out my lungs. I couldn't get an appointment for two months. Meanwhile I am coughing, am weak, and I have no strenght of stamina. I'm thinking do I have lung cancer? Thank God I did not. However, In addition to trying to figure out what was wrong with me, my doctor diagnosed me with catatonic depressions. So from Januaryn to June, I pretty much stayed in bed or on the couch because the idea of getting up was just to difficult to contemplate.
So not only was my state of mind pretty non-existent, staying on the couch was causing my muscles to deteriorate. Walking my two beautiful dogs was my only exercise. As I said, my depression was so severe, I truly believe I am alive because of my dogs.
Then I met Joanie. She talked about how great she felt after joining TAW and how wonderful and caring Kyle and Rhi were. She told me some of her story and counseled I should look into it. I did, and since joining, I have not had a single episode of depression. Before joining, I was in so much pain I couldn't stop crying. My first meeting with Kyle I broke out into tears.
Since I started working out at TAW and having the support of not only Kyle and Rhi, but also the wonderful members of the gym, I have not had a single episode of depression. I am working out, and I am enjoying time with my family and friends. I love to cook and I'm cooking up wonderful meals for my family and friends. Thank you, Joanie, for reaching out to me. I feel I have a true friend in you. Thank you Kyle and Rhi for being so supportive of my and thank you members for the amazing CAN DO atmosphere you contribute to TAW. I would give you 10 stars if I could!

I came to TAW as a former athlete in the process of battling back from a rare, chronic disease with a body that did not really feel like my own. Kyle was a positive influence from the start and the individual, focused programming and coaching enabled me to regain a lot of previously lost strength and confidence.

Fast forward, a few years and Kyle and Rhi have continued to help me recover from multiple different injuries and unexpected orthopedic surgeries. Training there is always one of the best parts of my day.

I was sidelined from my active lifestyle of hiking, biking, yoga, strength training, and walking for 18 months after having Lyme disease and finally discovering I had a torn labrum in my hip. I did all the things—PT, neural therapy, acupuncture, biomagnetic pair therapy, and massage. Then I discovered regenerative medicine and had two PRP injections and laser therapy to start my healing process. My naturopathic doctor recommended The Athletic Way to strengthen my glutes and core. I have been training with Kyle and Rhianna for 6 months and have noticed huge improvements in my strength and power. Finally after a long 21 months, I hiked my first 4K mountain this past weekend. This was a dream come true!! Kyle and Rhianna truly care about their members and are constantly checking in to see how I am feeing and how I am progressing. I cannot recommend TAW enough if you are looking for individualized training to get great results and not be just another member. It’s a community—it’s a family!

I'll start by saying I am a 50 year old female and former endurance athlete. My deeply engrained mentality that working out longer, faster, and harder was not getting me where I wanted to be. Despite the hours I spent working out, I always found myself struggling with injuries and feeling like I had to take a break, then start from square 1 with my fitness. My physical therapist referred me to Kyle at The Athletic Way and right away I was impressed with his knowledge and the amount of attention he paid to proper mechanics. I chose to do the 3x per week (with 1 in studio) program and I can honestly say I have never felt better.

I worked with Kyle to get a handle on basic nutritional principals and followed his strength plans consistently. After 4 months, I feel strong and have significantly reduced (if not eliminated) the amount of aches and pains I feel from just doing ordinary life things (like gardening, driving, hiking, etc).

Doing things 'The Athletic Way' has transformed me mentally and physically. I no longer feel the need to push myself to the point of injury to feel fulfilled. The workouts I am provided are fun, challenging, and effective. I look forward to continuing my progress with Kyle and the team at TAW!

I've been working out at The Athletic Way in Bedford, NH, for almost 6 months now & cannot say enough positive things about this gym community and the owner, Kyle Arsenault. At age 40, I am currently in remission after a brutal battle with cancer a few years back. After going through radiation, chemo infusions & two major surgeries, I thought that I'd never get back to my old physical self. Through Kyle's personally developed programs, not only am I confident that I will get back to my old physical self, I actually think that I'm steaming towards getting into the best physical shape of my life. Thank you to Kyle and the TAW Community!

It has been six months since I took a chance and started my training journey at The Athletic Way. Like many, I suffered some setbacks both physically and mentally during the pandemic despite my best efforts working out on my own. I found myself spinning my wheels without making progress despite my hard work. I knew I needed some help reaching my goals I contacted The Athletic Way and set up a evaluation with Kyle, the owner and head coach. The day of my evaluation, I almost chickened out and cancelled. I am so glad I decided to give TAW a chance. It was one of the best decisions I have ever made!
Kyle and Rhianna are knowledgeable, supportive and motivated to help you achieve YOUR goals. After reviewing my history, goals and initial evaluation, Kyle created a program unique to me. Each month, I receive a new program that builds on the prior program and as the weeks go by, I feel stronger, more capable and confident. The Athletic Way has impacted not only my physical health, but has also impacted all areas of my life in and outside the gym in positive ways.
I feel like TAW has transformed my whole way of life and outlook for my future health and well being.
Consider joining The Athletic Way. Live Athletic! You will have the support of not only the coaches at TAW but from fellow gym members working out along side you.

Kyle and Rhianna are devoted trainers who don’t just talk the talk; they’re always willing to help. I had been doing resistance training for a few years and I was looking for more targeted guidance on form and mobility. At TAW, you can ask all the ‘dumb’ questions in the world about your training (like I did), and you’ll be supported and given expert advice. I love the no-mirrors, no-BS environment. The community is encouraging and warm. Can’t recommend it highly enough.

I’ve been working out at The Athletic Way for four months now and I couldn’t be happier! Prior to joining I was stuck in a rut of working out on my own in the one-body-part-per-day split. Old school! After battling shoulder injuries for years I knew it was time for a change. Kyle was attentive to my circumstances and has catered unique programs to meet my goals. I’m doing things during training sessions that I’ve never heard of before despite being a gym-goer for the past 25 years! The results and gains have been noticeable and my only regret is that I waited so long to join. Additionally, the weekly healthy muffin recipes that he shares have become a family favorite!

Working with Kyle in the past, I knew he was the 1st person I'd reach out to for my husband. My husband had a stroke 6 months ago where he tore 2 arteries. Because he was healthy and very lucky, his recovery for his motor skills was very quick, but not at his pre-stroke levels. His cognitive ability wasn't 100% but I could trust Kyle that he'd watch over his current abilities and work one on one, when needed. Physical therapy/insurance would not accept him as a patient because he was "functioning". I knew he needed more and needed to work on his strength to get back to his full abilities. Kyle and The Athletic Way worked with him during his restriction period and ramped up his training once they were lifted. I could not think of a better place to work with. They programmed his workout to his level and increased each week as he improved. Not only physically, but helped him mentally as he slowly worked through his recovery. I cannot thank The Athletic Way family for everything they've done for him and will always reach to Kyle first for all my physical therapy needs. His knowledge and the way he handles his athletes is 2nd to none!

I had knee replacement surgery and Brian from advanced injury treatment recommended more strength training with Kyle at taw.
I have been training there w/ Kyle and Rhi for well over a year and my knee is better than ever with more strength and range of motion.
The program Kyle set up for me has also got me in great mental and physical shape, has upgraded my confidence and has allowed me to continue w/ my career as a chef working 12/14 hr shifts on my feet with no problem.
I have been a member at other gyms working out on my own and sometimes would get lost in the shuffle, or didn't feel like going and basically wasting my money with limited results.
At taw they set up a 4 week plan, you can adjust the online time schedule anytime, and you get personalized attention to detail in all phases of your workout. Basically you are set up for success and you get great results.
When I leave taw after a workout l feel great w/ more energy and a clear mind ready to tackle the day making better decisions.
The cost is a little more than a regular gym but you get so much more.
Money is important but your health is everything!!
Kyle has set up a family friendly culture at taw, the place is spotless and everyone wipes down after use.
If you are setting goals and looking for some positive impact on your life I highly recomend taw. Give Kyle a call, tell him Richie sent you

From the moment I signed up for an evaluation with Kyle at The Athletic Way, I knew it was a decision that would change my life in many ways. During our initial conversation, he outlined specific goals and strategies to help me achieve them while taking into consideration past injuries - something I had not experienced with other trainers before. From the first day in class, both Kyle and Rhi have been incredibly supportive and provided expertise that stretches beyond fitness. With their guidance, I now have more confidence when I walk into any gym, knowing that I have all the knowledge I need to work out safely and prevent injury.

Though the physical improvements I have made in strength, health, and overall well-being are incredible, the true transformation from TAW goes deeper than that. It's a community of passionate people committed to pursuing fitness in an authentic and positive way - kind, warm people with whom I have formed meaningful connections in my short time. In summary, if you're looking to make a real, lasting lifestyle change, then don't look any further - The Athletic Way is THE place you want to be!

Kyle demonstrates excellent knowledge of and the ability to teach proper lifting and conditioning techniques so that members can achieve their goals while decreasing the risk of acute injury or long-term wear-and-tear on the body that can limit one's potential.

My experience at TAW since joining six months ago has been very positive as I have made continued progress building back strength and cardio fitness after suffering a spinal injury. Kyle's individual programming is a great balance between general conditioning and strength training while also focusing on PT-like rehabilitation specific to the injury. His programming is creative, varied, and appropriately challenging such that I am continually engaged while pushing myself to meet new goals in a safe manner.

When I started with Kyle, I had numerous joint problems secondary to lifting. Since I have been training at TAW, I have not experienced any of the injuries I started with. Kyle builds adaptive programs tailored to individual training goals/injuries, provides knowledge about the benefits of each exercise/movement, and with smaller classes, he is attentive to each of his athletes.

TAW is the place to be: from a great atmosphere, to a great team dynamic, to an attentive coach who pushes you to crush your goals safely. TAW offers everything one could ask for in a facility and coach.

Kyle’s expertise, passion and attentiveness provides TAW with the best fitness experience. I would not recommend anyone else!

I've been a long-time lifter and up until I became a member of TAW I was never able to reach my potential. Always jumping from program to program and had the mindset of more=better. However, that isn't the case. Kyle at TAW provides specialized programs for each individual, which focuses on the quality of the movement versus training muscle groups. Each session is roughly an hour and although that may not seem long, I can assure you, you'll leave there sore, tired and with a feeling of accomplishment. The best part of TAW is Kyle's knowledge and ability to work with you, around injuries/ailments you may have, to ensure you get an effective pain free training session in. Best health decision I made was joining TAW.

I have been going to TAW for about three months now and it is a game changer! Kyle is a great trainer. From the first day I went, I saw results. He works in exercises that help with any pain you might have and is so knowledgeable so he can always help you modify a exercise if you are experiencing any pain. He is training a new trainer, Rhi, and she is awesome! I always feel better after working out at TAW and they are always there to correct you and help
motivate you (without being annoying or anything). I would highly recommend and it is worth the money!!!

I came to see Kyle at the recommendation of a local physical therapist. The last year I dealt with two surgeries and a chronic condition diagnosis, quit apprehensive and insecure about starting over. I used to be a significantly active lifter and cyclist who was struggling to even do a lunge.

We did an initial intake, where we talked more about the mental aspect of things than just purely physical. I’ve worked with many trainers, and most will shy away from anything other than the routine, but Kyle wants to understand the whole person who came in. I was really apprehensive, and admittedly slow to jump in, but it was well worth it.

While I’m not back to where I want to be, in 6 weeks I can now lunge with weight and do more movement than the last year. Kyle is extremely knowledgeable about scaling and adapting programs to meet you where you’re at. He’ s created an environment and programming style that progresses you instead of leaving you dragging through the week. My chronic condition has been more manageable because of how we work together.

If you’re serious about trying to improve your health and especially if you’re someone coming from a setback, TAW is the place to be.

It’s difficult to articulate the physical and mental changes that Kyle has helped me achieve in just 4 short weeks of working with him at TAW, but I will try! I came to Kyle as a last-ditch effort after a long and frustrating recovery from hip labrum repair and FAI correction surgery following an injury in March 2020. I was constantly in pain, sitting, standing, just going about daily life. I was unable to participate in activities that I loved, like running with friends, chasing my kids around the yard or even sitting on the floor and building legos with my toddler without being in constant pain or taking medication to mask the pain. Aside from the physical restrictions, it was heartbreaking to not be able to carry my toddler upstairs to bed, lift her into her crib or be able to give her a tubby every night without getting help from someone else. After struggling for a year and a half, I felt like I needed to accept this as my new reality.

I saw Kyle for an evaluation and he shared with me that he had been through not only the same surgery as I had, but a similar mental struggle. There is nothing more comforting than finding a provider who has been in your shoes and knows what you are feeling both physically and mentally. He immediately identified weaknesses to address and explained why I was feeling pain with certain movements. He worked with me to make modifications and set short term goals. I trained with him (and a number of other awesome, incredibility welcoming TAW athletes) 3 times a week for 4 weeks. Some of the incredible milestones I’ve achieved within the last week have been running with minimal pain, doing a real squat (without cheating!) for the first time since high school, doing 5 push-ups in a row with no assistance (something I’ve never been able to do)….but more importantly were my unanticipated bonuses: carrying my toddler upstairs to bed, toting her around Story Land for 6+ hours without relying on ibuprofen, kayaking with my son and not needing to rely on another adult to lift and lower the kayak, things I haven’t been able to do since March 2020. I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel and for the first time since my initial injury, I am now confident this will get better.

Thank you Kyle for not only getting me back on track, but for sharing your own experience and making me feel like I was not alone. And please keep subtly reminding me to add more weight to the sled or squeeze in an extra pull-up 😉

Kyle Arsenault from The Athletic Way (TAW) is more than a personal trainer. He is a coach who is behind you, motivating you, encouraging you, listening to you, teaching you, educating you and guiding you every step of the way on your journey to better health, proper nutrition and fitness. I was referred to Kyle by my physical therapist, and I am just so grateful to have been pointed in Kyle’s direction. I have dealt with chronic back pain for years. With each visit, Kyle has trained me and taught me how to use proper form and technique in strengthening and activating my core along with engaging other muscle groups. He knew exactly what to do and how to work with me when I came in with pain and struggled with movement. He would modify exercises in such a way that I could approach an exercise safely and do the exercise confidently. I now approach my workout routines with an informed understanding of how my body is functioning and moving. I’ve learned to listen to my body and have been made aware of the fear patterns I made for myself in my approach to physical motion. I broke free from a prison of pain under Kyle’s coaching and training. I HIGHLY recommend Kyle Arsenault for anyone who is looking for a personal trainer.

I joined The Athletic Way (TAW) a little more than 3 years ago based on referral from a friend. It was the best decision I ever made and it has been life changing. I spent 2-3 years with lower back pain from exercise and outdoor chores which eventually led to hamstring issues. I did physical therapy, weekly chiropractic appointments (sometimes 2-3 times per week), and several other modifications such as limiting my running, buying a new mattress and stand up desk. I became frustrated as I was always in some level of pain. When I first met Kyle, he did a personal assessment and recommended a few things to do at home prior to my first workout session. He personalized a program to focus on the root cause of my issues and I began feeling results within two weeks. We often reflect together on the progress and the things I can do now in training that I never thought was possible. I have gained increased confidence with testing my core and lower back in ways I never thought possible. His attention to detail, willingness to listen to your personal goals, compassion for his clients, and commitment to ensure success has been exactly the support and coach I needed. My only regret is that it took me 3 years to make the decision to join TAW.

Well, I almost never write reviews...but I felt this was one I needed to write. At 69 years old, I knew it was now or never if I was going to get into a consistent physical workout routine. A close friend of mine recommended I call Kyle, as he had done amazing things for him. My friend had several physical issues making it very hard for him to work out. In just 1 year, he now works out like he did 25 years ago, before all his issues. I have a severe back issue, and was concerned I would not be able to work out. It had done me in before when working with several other personal trainers. I can not say enough about how knowledgeable Kyle is about just how to properly work out so my back is not a problem, and in fact is getting stronger. I only wish I had met Kyle years ago...but as the saying goes...better late than never!

So thankful for Kyle and the personal programming and attention during sessions!
After 2 knee surgeries last year, I didn't think I would ever be able to work my lower half or ever run again. Working out and running has been a passion of mine and when I had the surgeries I felt lost AND FRUSTRATED not being able to do the things I have grown to love.
I felt like I was losing a piece of my identity and my confidence.
I was referred to Kyle by whom I feel is the top physical therapist in the area, and man he was right!
Kyle has worked with me personally for almost 6 months now to rebuild and learn to train in a way that builds strength without pain or injury. Now my legs/knees are stronger than ever and I am back running again! The type of training he has taught me and continues to coach me, has brought so many new elements of being athletic and stronger than ever. I was looking to be stronger, build a base of training knowledge, be more athletic and thats exactly what I have been coached providing me my best well rounded performance. I have also had some shoulder issues that he has worked into my personal programs.
Quite frankly, he's the only coach around that has the knowledge, component programming and personal ability focus to make the changes and gains anyone is looking for in personal goals.
I now train without frustration, or fear that I may be doing something wrong, and my identity is back! Icould never thank you enough!
PS. My girlfriend also started training at TAW for extreme back pain and issues. She is killing it now with little or no pain at her very physical job!

I joined TAW seven months ago when dealing with neck and lower back problems. The programs and instruction are tailored to my individual goals, strengths and weaknesses. Kyle has demonstrated excellent knowledge and ability to communication effectively. The facility is well equipped and meticulously cleaned. TAW has surpassed my expectations and I'm happy with the results, which include weight loss, increased strength and agility.

TAW came highly recommended and after an orientation with Kyle I was sold. Classes are small and Kyle's attention & expertise is equivalent to one on one training. The workouts are highly productive and my strength has noticeably improved. As an avid golfer I have really benefited from the core and flexibility training. Kyle is extremely diligent with COVID precautions and the facility is immaculate. I believe after several months that TAW is hands down the best fitness experience available.

As a practicing physical therapist you need to have a strength and conditioning specialist you can rely on to send your patient's. The collaboration between the professions has been a huge aspect of optimal patient outcomes for me. What makes Kyle different Is his ability to train clients that may be dealing with injuries or have some limitations that could potentially lead to an injury. I have worked closely with him for over 10 years and there is no one that I respect and trust more than Kyle.

Kyle also has trained my son for over 2 years now and made such a huge impact on him not only with regards to training but also as a positive role model. I would highly recommend Kyle to anyone looking to get in shape or have a youth athlete that is looking to take their game to the next level.

Kyle is both knowledgeable and passionate. He takes the time to assess each individual's strengths and weaknesses and is able to adapt his program accordingly. He can manage 5 athletes at a time without missing a beat. I would highly recommend The Athletic Way !

My son started going to group sessions at The Athletic Way with his teammates nearly three years ago. To say I've seen a transformation in my son since he began is a significant understatement. Obviously with regular visits to Kyle, he's gotten stronger physically, which has helped him in all the sports he plays. But other transformations have shown themselves too. The physical barriers he conquers in the gym with Kyle have given him a resounding confidence that he brings with him when he leaves the facility. The bonds he's formed with the boys he's worked out with give them a friendship that goes beyond school or play - a bond formed over mutual hard work and many bouts on the assault bike. And the mentoring and coaching Kyle has provided him means he not only has the best strength and conditioning coach in the area, but a friend who is always willing to give advice above and beyond what he's paid to do. Most importantly, as a dad, I've watched my son grow into a young man who is learning the concepts of life-long fitness with the guidance, safety, and expertise that The Athletic Way provides. Knowing my son is getting stronger and faster using the latest science and a strict adherence to the correct form, in an environment that encourages a lifetime of fitness, is worth its weight in gold. I can't speak highly enough about Kyle, Jamie, and the rest of The Athletic Way crew. They are truly a top notch company and the best in the area at what they do.

My son has been training with TAW for just two weeks. In that small amount of time I have already seen an improvement in his strength and power. My son happens to focus on baseball and he and I can already see an improvement in his bat speed. We are very excited to be training with Kyle and we can already tell this is going to be a game changer for us!

I initially came to Kyle as my lifestyle of fitness was compromised with some degenerative knee issues. I was looking for someone to help me work around the issues so I could “get back." Over two years later, not only are my knee symptoms at bay but “getting back” now means “staying” with The Athletic Way! Kyle’s exceptional knowledge base with anatomy/physiology and how to work with bumps in the road has allowed me to stay injury-free while I continue to make fitness and strength gains. No reason to go anywhere else. Kyle's concern about the whole person he’s training is evident in and out of the gym. My whole family has benefitted from his out-of-gym experience; including ongoing nutrition and training seminars and general wellness lifestyle hacks. We all love Kyle (and his family) and happy to be spreading the good word about The Athletic Way.

Kyle is professional and knowledgeable. The facility is incredibly clean. I started working out at The Athletic Way several weeks ago. I was feeling deconditioned ! I have had a spinal fusion as well as a total knee replacement. Kyle has guided me thru a custom program that has me feeling stronger, is safe, and advances my program based on my personal growth. I feel better and more confident. I highly recommend The Athletic Way.

15 months ago, I was feeling rundown, tired and a bit sad at my physical situation. At 42, I could not believe I felt “so old and broken.” My kids were gearing up for their ski race season and I was bummed about my knee pain and my shoulder pain. They were both keeping me from skiing, running and biking. All activities we do as a family. All activities I had hoped to do with my kids for the rest of my life. My evaluation and first month at TAW was a birthday gift from my husband. At the end of the evaluation, I knew I was in good hands. Kyle did a great job of explaining both my shoulder pain and my knee pain in a way I could understand. He immediately made me feel at ease about providing a training solution for both of them. I have been "getting after it” with Kyle at TAW for over a year and feel great! I can do things that used to make me cringe. It no longer hurts my shoulder to drive my car! Hooray! I can hike with my kids up and down a mountain with confidence that my knee can do it! We just tried cross country skiing (an activity that I would have opted out of) and it was a blast! Our family was able to experience it together. With Kyle’s help, I know that our family will be able to create many more active adventures in the future in all four seasons. No more feeling old or tired. I feel strong and ready to spend time with my kids doing all sorts of fun things!

Kyle is incredibly knowledgeable and a dedicated skilled trainer. He has a true passion to help anyone improve physically and become a better version of themselves. For me, he has done the following things well during my sessions: Accessed me from a starting standpoint, listened to my goals, and challenged me to go beyond what I believe I am capable of.
I’ve been to trainers in the past but what made Kyle truly stand out is that he thought of me as an “athlete” from day one, well before I saw myself as one. Workouts are never boring, the facility is clean and not overwhelming. I would not recommend going anywhere else and training with anyone else, you’ll only be wasting your valuable time.

The Athletic Way exceeds all my expectations. It has been true to everything I had read on the website and so much more. Each week since beginning in April 2019, I have experienced a continuous progression of positive results--in strength, movement, endurance, appearance--all in the best workout environment. It is welcoming, CLEAN, low key with happy clients of all ages, all following their individualized workouts programmed and coached by Kyle Arsenault, the owner and a truly great guy.
Kyle is so knowledgeable in the ever evolving field of fitness and health. His expertise, genuine passion and outstanding coaching skills make me confident that I am getting the best workout possible in the most time-efficient manner, AND that it will produce actual positive results, AND avoid injury or wasted time from incorrect form and/or much of my out-dated workout routines.
Motivating, inspiring, achieving, exceeding--each one a powerful word that I experience coming to life like never before. All at The Athletic Way. I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to get fit, stay fit, and/or exceed what you ever thought possible. Kyle has the skill, passion and knowledge to get you there!
