About the Club

I am a certified StrongFirst Kettlebell Instructor, Functional Movement Practitioner, Personal Trainer & Strength Coach. I have found my purpose and that is teaching others to move well and find their strength. We all have it in us to be strong. When you discover your strength, it is something that will light a fire inside and transcend to all areas of your life. Strength goes far beyond training, it is something you carry proudly. Strength is beautiful and it is the best feeling in the world. Through my 3-step protocol of movement screening, restoration & corrective exercise, and strength training utilizing the StrongFirst method, I will help you reach your goals.

Working with Kerry has been amazing! I have increased my physical strength, reduced aches and pains, and improved my overall wellbeing since we started on this journey. Kerry is so much more than a certified fitness instructor with great credentials, and she doesn’t do anything in a cookie cutter way. She educates you, treats you as an individual, and is always thoughtful and attentive in her approach. I have more mobility and less body aches than any other time in my life because of Kerry’s expertise and individualized approach.

Kerry brings an incredible understanding of the human body and movement that really sets her apart. She tailors each session to meet me where I’m at, physically, mentally, and energy-wise. As a mid-40s former athlete, ADHDer, and visual learner, I really appreciate how clearly Kerry demonstrates exercises with proper form and breaks down the “why” behind each movement. I am never bored and always learning.

Kerry’s ability to personalize my training plan, based on how I move and learn best, has made it easy to stay engaged and build momentum. I have gained strength, mobility, body awareness, and confidence in my abilities since working with Kerry. And it’s been fun! I look forward to sessions instead of dreading them.

Kerry is also a very kind, warm, and supportive person who knows how and when to push you in just the right ways. She also reminds you it’s important to rest and to listen to your body.

I started working with Kerry in January because I'd been struggling with lower back pain caused by a herniated disc for over a year. I'd tried various pain management solutions to no avail and ended up booking an appointment with Kerry because she specifically mentioned helping clients with lower back pain on her website. I've been working with Kerry now for 6 months and am so thankful I found her!! She's helped me both by teaching me exercises to reduce pain when my back is acting up and overall strength training so my back acts up less often. I would 100% recommend working with her- she's also just an incredibly positive, friendly person who never makes me (someone brand new to strength training) feel intimidated to try new things.

I’ve been training with Kerry for about 3 years now. In that time, she’s helped me tremendously gain strength and mobility and accomplish some incredible physical goals along the way all while feeling better than I ever have. This is because she’s not just knowledgeable about programming a workout, but she’s a student of the body and how to help it function properly and optimally. By combining her continual reassessments of my movements and any discomfort I have going on (which is lots because I beat my body up plenty over the years), she provides me with specific movement prep and corrective exercises in my programming, which set my body up for success. As a result of this, I’ve had lingering 20+ year injuries dramatically improve and I’ve had some incredible PR’s.

Additionally, Kerry was fantastic working with me throughout my pregnancy. She worked closely with me and adjusted my programming accordingly to keep me moving well and safely all the way through!

I’ve been working with Kerry at The Functional Body for the last 9 months starting with corrective therapy for a knee injury that I’ve been dealing with for more than 3 years. While I still have some occasional knee pain, it is not a daily occurrence anymore. I started personal training with Kerry about 5 months ago and have never felt stronger. Kerry is a trainer who shares her strength with you. She heard my story of how I injured my back and walked through general physical therapy, chiropractic care and hours upon hours of yoga to try and get strong again. Then she did what everything else failed to do and taught me how to help myself heal. She has given me the tools to better understand my body and answer those signals. Kerry strives for strength in body and mind.
I remeber thinking personal training was just going to be like everything else I had tried, or like a generic gym membership where I would get a little coaching and never make any real progress. Without Kerry, it might have been that for me. Now, I am able to move around pain free. Now, I understand my body more and I'm better equipped with knowledge on how to respond.
Kerry has helped me to see how I can motivate myself and get strong. The program she uses allows me to progress continually and achieve a tremendous amount of satisfaction and strength.
I'm grateful that I have Kerry as my personal trainer to guide me through better movement in my daily life, reducing pains from head to toes and helping me realize how, I too, can achieve muscle strength I didn't even realize I could!
