The place seemed nice and the young guys manning the front desk were very pleasant to us. I’m pretty new to golfing and tagged along with a friend. The starter/ ranger employee who would not give their name, was extremely rude to my friends and family. I cant see myself going back.

Played here for the first time and unfortunately the pace of play was extremely slow — we waited on nearly every shot starting around hole 6. By hole 12, our cart screen showed we were 22 minutes behind pace, so I called the pro shop to send a ranger. When he arrived, he initially insisted our screen was wrong and became defensive, but later admitted I was correct. Even after identifying the cause, nothing was done to speed up play, and we finished 38 minutes behind the posted 4:20 pace. It’s a shame, because the course itself is in great condition with a fun, challenging layout and fast greens. I just wish the pace had been managed better so the experience matched the quality of the course.

It was the worst paced round of golf I have ever played. I left after the 6th hole since it took 2 hours to play. The people behind me were hitting into me while I was still on the green on par 3s and it wasn’t that our group was slow, we were constantly waiting for the groups in front of us. There are so many better courses in the area that won’t take 6 hours to play. I wish I played somewhere else and not wasted my time. The only good thing was that the pro shop gave me a partial refund otherwise I would not recommend.

Played a week ago.Have always enjoyed the Oaks. However you should post when you aerate the greens. Also put a lease on your rangers he followed us from hole 10 to 14 ,told us to hurry even though we were 1 minute behind .We are not pros we had a 4:20 round,lady in pro shop was great as well as everyone else, enjoy it there don't ruin it,thanx

I love the Grill at the Oaks. However we didn't know when we made our reservation near the entertainment that it was a new Pavillion with only a food truck menu. Even though I was disappointed not to be able to get dinner, I did order a sandwich and it was good.
However, I could not get a glass of wine. When my husband asked the staff if they could get one from the bar, the woman put a big smile on her face and said you are not getting it. Absolutely rude.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. If you’re a woman, you are not welcome here! My husband and I shared a tee time with a couple of old, nice guys. They were pretty “slow” but we all moved at a fine pace. We let them finish their putts first and they said they’re heading to the next hole. We headed right behind them and had two dudes in golf carts stop us and tell us that this is a Friday at noon and it’s really not the time for me (a woman) to be learning how to play golf today. So that they’d give us a full refund! Didnt even give us an option to stay on the green or talk with our whole group! My husband and I were totally caught off guard. I called them sexist and that they should publish that female novices aren’t welcome here. Just utterly appalling. And they continued to let the two old men golf just like we were. We were not holding anyone up, nothing. They just came after me because I am a woman. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS!

The Ranger stalked our group and the group in front of us from hole 2 forward. Every hole our group was waiting for the group in front of us with the exception of a hole after one of the Par 3s, and the hole 280 yd par 4 (drivable green for half my group).
We were forced to skip a hole bc the group in front of us was playing at a 5 hr pace.
We begrudgingly skipped a Par 3 as requested and the group in front of us was still 50 yds off the tee box.
Never in my life have I had this happen. We didn’t play well, but we were playing as fast as the group ahead allowed without hitting into them.
I’ll never return, which the Ranger likely could care less about, but I also use the driving range, bar/grille, even have attended brunch/dinner promos- and as a former service industry worker I’m also a very generous tipper.
After the round, instead of heading in for drinks and food as usual, we opted to take our business elsewhere.

The holes were gorgeous to look at and difficult to play, this being from the perspective of a few beginner golfers. For the rate we paid, 18 holes was a great deal and we definitely plan on coming back in the future. Oh, the GPS systems on the carts were also very impressive and useful to us newer golfers.

Beware - Leslie the wedding planner took my deposit & signed contract in December 2022 & when I recently called to ask how much additional deposit was due for June 2024 wedding, I was told my contract had been canceled & she then hung up on me. I reached out to General Manager Ben, who said he would look into this but never called me back. I left a message for owner, Peter, but to date, he has not responded. Now I have to hire a lawyer for breach of contract. So, so perplexed, disappointed & frustrated.

6 18 22 the course remains in great shape. I was there with a group of 20. Jeanie does a great job of welcoming us. We are due back in October.
10 8 22. Returned with 20 more guys today. The course is in awesome shape. Jeanine did a great job as always. Had the chicken fingers after the round. Awesome.
6 17 23 It was an extremely wet day on the course. Yet it was a fun day of golf. The service in the restaurant after was amazing. Had the baked potato with cheese and pulled pork. Delicious .

I live in southern New Hampshire, and I am a frequent flier at Candia woods so I thought I would give The Oaks a try. The round was a little more expensive then Candia Woods, but I believe the course makes up for that. It is a tight course and has some fun holes. The only complaint I would have is that it is fairly slow, it took us a little over 2 and a half hours to play 9, it was fairly backed up because there tee times are a little to close together. Other then that the greens were in great shape and I had a good first round here. I will try it again this season.

I been a member for a year 7 day pass holder. They have no respect for a single pass holder. The person Diane in the pro shop switch my tee time to a later time and stuck me behind a 5 some. This is not the first time this has happen not to me but other members. Why this is allow to happen no idea but the starter was upset about what was going on. This is why I am not going to renew my membership .

If you have 6+ hours to play 18 holes, this is your spot.

I am not one to write reviews, especially negative ones, but this has to be said. We did not play the Oaks for 2+ years because of the packed course and ridiculously slow pace of play.

We went on a Sunday afternoon at 3pm and figured we would give it another chance, hoping that they had figured out the slow pace of play...they have not. We waited 20+ minutes on the first tee, as there were four (yes, 4) groups waiting to tee off at the same time as us. This was the first sign that this was going to be a slow round. (In retrospect, we should have asked for our money back at this time and did something else the the 3.5 hours it took us to play 9 holes) We waited about 20 minutes to tee off on every hole after that. We called the pro shop 2 times (during 9 holes) to ask if a ranger could make a round trying to speed up the pace of play-- we never once saw a ranger on the course. Luckily, everyone around us was friendly and had the same frustration--so we were able to commiserate together.

As if the pace of play was not frustrating enough-charging 90$ for 2 people to play 9 holes on a Sunday afternoon (3pm) was really the icing on the cake for us. I understand that this is a business, but maybe if they took less tee times to increase their pace of play...more people would enjoy their time there. Figure things out...We will take our business elsewhere, which really is a shame because I used to really like The Oaks...Good luck this season......

We were booked for a wedding in August of 2020. As the wedding date approached, it became clear to us that it was not safe to have guests travel from across the country for the event. The venue refused to cancel and only offered to reschedule to 2021. They were willing to host a scaled down event but we were not comfortable with that in the midst of a global pandemic. We lost thousands of dollars and they would not provide any recourse other than offering a date in 2021. We ended up having a small backyard ceremony with our parents. We have moved on with our lives including welcoming a new child at the end of the year, so hosting an expensive wedding at this point is not an option. It is unfortunate that The Oaks showed no flexibility regarding the deposit despite the circumstances, including travel restrictions that were in place at the time. Use caution if you decide to book an event at this venue.

Nice course and staff but please fix your hard greens. They are like cement and need plugging with a ton of sand. I have played here last year and they were firm but not like this. They could have plugged in early April or as soon as they could have if they were closed. I like the speed (11 or so on stimp) but they are impossible to hold down wind or on front pins.

For a venue to offer fireworks is rude to ALL local families. Most summer weekends, dogs from Somersworth, Rochester, and Dover cower in fear. Children are forced to stay awake until the noise is over. Please don't choose this option. It is irresponsible to choose to entertain your guests with something that traumatizes many local families. It is only once at your wedding, but we are forced to listen to it every weekend.
